The staff are wonderful here and polite especially when my wife wanted to try on the shoes in her size. She found some shoes she likes but decided to check if it's cheaper at another store. Today I came in and there were 3 girls behind the counter just talking about food and were so laid about it. Extremely unprofessional. Then there was the girl that was helping me and the shoes weren't fitting right so I kept asking for a 61/2 and 7 which they just didn't fit right unfortunately. The last time I asked if I can see a different style she was looking at the other associate and they both made it obvious that I was getting in there nerves because I was clearly trying my best to find something to get. I asked the associate if I was getting on her nerves but I think she thought I didn't notice. So right then and there I decided to leave. I had to go back in because the sandals immediately broke when I put them on (no one's fault just a faulty buckle it happens). I was really nervous about going back in because the shoes were final sale and the sales associate was originally so rude to me I figured it was going to be a whole thing. Luckily she wasn't there and the two associates that helped me were nice and damaged out the defective pair and ordered me a replacement and it was nbd. I bought a TERRIBLY designed pair of shoes that would not stay on my foot and their reply to me was too bad, you're stuck with the price tag and there's no recourse-not even a 10% off a future order or a "sorry we don't have a better return policy". This is a thank you and appreciation post for Courtney at the Steve Madden store at the Glendale Galleria. I had some shoes that needed to be exchanged due to sizing issues. They were gifted to me and due to covid I was unable to go into a store. Once I was finally able to do so, another sales associate was very kind and found the right size at another store (glassy tan ) they were to mail me my shoes. Guess what !!!! Shutdown #2 the next day!!!!! I waited and waited and no shoes. I finally called and they explained the store due to covid had not opened back and as such the shoes weren't there :( , she tried really hard and I appreciated it, they kindly offered me store credit. Long story short I went back to the store (Glendale) to get my store credit Courtney assisted me. As I am looking around I see her on the phone calling and talking to different people ... Courtney found my shoes :) I went on Sunday and I got them today :). Courtney, thank you very much for everything and going above and beyond. A few weeks ago I came here to exchange a pair of heels for a different size. I called before coming in to make sure they had what I wanted. The worker had me on hold for a while and I kept thinking "Wth woman. It doesn't take THAT long to check if you have my size." It turns out that they didn't BUT she had me on hold for so long bc she was calling other Steve Madden stores to check if I had my size, which was a lot more helpful than me doing it myself. She found a store so I went in to do the return/order. Long story short, I ended up exchanging my heels for a different pair! The worker that was helping me out had me try on another pair of heels that I absolutely fell in love with. I loved them so much that I didn't want to take them off! Don't you just hate that? You end up getting sucked in to buying them. So instead of walking out with the original pair I wanted, I got a whole new on! The worst experience ever with what a resonable person would assume to be a major retail chain. On Sunday 12.28.15 .. I purchased a pair of boots from this mall store. Only wore the boots while trying them on, purchased them and continued shopping at the Galleria. . Less then 3 hours later (and never once leaving the mall) .. I decided that the boots needed to be returned (please note these were $179 boots) .. and after thinking about them i decided that they really dint fit all that great when I tried them on .. Less than 3 hours from purchasing these boots, i went back to the exact same store, maybe a half hour before closing . Went to make the return .. and would you belive that the "store manager" (really just the weekend key holder) .. gave me an attitude and created a very uncomfortable experience from the beginning. . Tellinge me the "refund system" is down and then asking why I was returning them .. She dint like the truth, which was I changed my mind and wanted my momey back .. I showed her my 3 hour old receipt. . At this point she COMPLETELY CHANGED her tune, and she tried to tell me she could not do the return now saying that these brand new never worn outside THEIR store boots . . are all.of a sudden "worn".. I was shocked ..then when I asked to speak with the manager .. she said that she was the manager .. when I asked to speak to her manager .. she said "dont you understand" the return part of our system is "out of order".. She then tells me this has been the case for over a week now .. (during the Holidays??) .. TERRIBLE. . I am no expert on consumer law but I dont think it is legal to sell a retail product in California without having a working refund mechanism. . I can't imagine this is the experience that the STEVE MADDEN company wants for their consumers.. I know it was not what i was expecting when shopping here .. DON'T DO IT .. I HAVE NEVER had a more uncomfortable retail experience as this.. I again asked for her managers name ... The District manager? General Manager. . Anyone who cares about the consumer .. Realizing I was getting NO WHERE; I asked for her name, the store phone number and the corporate office nimber.. I also left my name and number and asked to be called by the store manager on Monday. . Well by Tuesday, NO CALL back from anyone. . I called the corporate office (which is a JOKE and is a call center over seas somewhere) .. I had to explain the situation to 2 different representatives.. they listened. . Gave great lip service .. and by the end of the phone call .. I foolishly believed that I would finally get a follow-up phone call, and most importantly a resolution. . NOPE... As of yet (over 72 hours) .. I have NOT HEARD BACK from anyone. I immediately FILED A COMPLAINT with the BBB and the states ATTORNEY GENERAL .. I am sure that I will have a resolution. . Now But I will NEVER DO BUSINESS again with this company. .. and I strongly advise all to think twice .. NOT the REPUTABLE business they portray them selves to be. . I went in today to exchange a pair of shoes I did not notice were damaged at the time of purchase. To be fair, I know that I should check out a pair of shoes, or anything else I am purchasing before actually buying it but I have a bad habit of just buying things and walking out of the store. I had purchased the shoes yesterday and the employees at the store remembered me as I was having a difficult time deciding between a few different pairs of shoes. I explained to the employee what my concerns were and she looked confused and turned to her manager for help. The manager said she would be able to exchange it for me. A few minutes later, the manager came by and checked the pair of shoes again and stated that the shoe was not "defected" but that I had done something to them, but in a passive aggressive manner. Though she made the return, I felt uncomfortable wit the way that she made me feel about the exchange. The shoes will not be taken out of her paycheck and the $140 I spent, did not come out of HER pocket, therefore, I did not appreciate the tone she took. I am thankful they were able to exchange it, again, but, it is important to have good customer service. read more

This is my favorite location in SoCal and NorCal, Steve Madden is my absolute favorite in shoes and even purses. I've been obsessed with my charcoal gray Mojave's and decided to purchase the last tan Mojave's they had which was back in the middle of January. Sadly when I first wore the tan Mojave's the shoe sockets kept snapping on me and I was so paranoid they wouldn't be able to do anything for me since I didn't have the receipt or even the box they came in when I purchased them. I made a phone call and the women I spoke to was so accommodating told me to bring them in tomorrow (today) since she was opening and could help me. I was able to exchange them or order them online all for free. I've never had that from any shoe company!!! Now I'm patiently waiting on my new Mojave's, and I'm so excited! read more

My go to location is Soho, 3rd street and any large SM store but I happened to be in the area. Now, the selection is quite small but Shakirah made a true experience. She is the Store Manager and knows how to make a girl want more. Great shoes (as always) and great service. Steve Madden SUCKS. The customers service EVERYTHING. Whenever you buy anything from Steve Madden check your card or bank account immediately. I bought a shoe and took it back to return, they didn't take it back for stupid reason. They told me they will prove match it which was ok because the shoe was on sale. Then we spoke with the manager & he was supposed to refund the money back into my card. Same night I found out my transaction which showed that the money taken out immediately after they refund it. I went back the day after and told them about it and they didn't know what did the guy do. They told me we gave you gift card and you used it !!!!!! Which was total lie. I wanted them to follow up and return my money back. For $45 I waited 3 months and after 20 times walk in and call, I've been told that the store manager did fraud and used the card under my name and they are on the process for investigating him. They said we decided to give you gift card. I told them I don't need their gift card because I'm not going to buy anything from Steve madden anymore I want my money back into my account. They told me I have to wait if I want my money back probably about two or three more months to get my $45 back. Don't deal with thieves. Be aware where are you spending money. read more

Never experienced such bad customer service since being in America. Every other shop I've been too have been brilliant, I bought a pair of boots which cost me $185 with tax which ripped on first wearing them, took them back within a week where I was refused a refund, saying that they had been worn and to read the back of the receipt. Which incidentally you clearly only get once purchased as their are no signs in store that I could see, Informing you that no matter what even if the shoes or boots are faulty if worn they will not give a refund. After many calls to customer service along with emails,I finally got an email saying they would give me a full refund. I had to then get another 2 cabs to and from store to get this done. Luckily I saw the assistant who first served me, Jessica who was lovely, just a shame the managers were not so helpful. As I told the actual store manager Denise, this should have been resolved at source, instead of me having to escalate a complaint. I have been a big fan of Steve Madden for a few years now, and always buy many shoes and boots when here in the US, from now on I will have to find another brand as I have lost all faith in SM. I don't know what shoe selling tactics are but one time I was trying on these suede black heels and asked for an 8.5 - the guy with the glasses said he only had a 9 so I tried them on- they were a little fucked up and looked like they had been returned and were obviously too big on me but he was all "ok you can pad them" or whatever.... I loved the heels a lot and would have probably bought them had they not had obvious worn marks and scuffing underneath.... good thing I was being so indecisive because another sales girl came up to ask if I needed anything I said no just wish they'd had the heels in my 8.5 size and not the 9 to which she exclaimed "OH WE HAVE THEM!" And then to which the guy helping me before gave her a WTF IM TRYING TO SELL THESE FUCKED UP HEELS LOOK REALL BITCH YOU JUST RUINED MY SALE well I was never gonna buy them because they were fucked up and he had shady vibes anyway but there you have it my one star review to this place cuz who needs someone trying to upsell you crap in the first place ?? read more
