Steve Madden Shoes - What's in the bag? - Shoe Stores Near Me - Glendale, California

Poor customer service experience. I placed an online order yesterday. Then I called the Glendale, CA store location to ensure my item was available, I provide my name and order number, the female sales associate confirmed my item was available, but stated she did not see my order their system, saying it can take up to 6 hours to reflect, I told her I was worried my item maybe taken so I asked her to place my item on hold and she agreed to place my item on hold. 4 hours pass, so I called Customer Call center to let them know I called the Glendale, CA location to share what happened when I called this store earlier, I spoke with a call center Supervisor, who assisted in calling the Glendale,CA location and confirmed with the store my item will be fulfilled and the item is in stock. I called the store and spoke with. Gentleman sales associate who said he could not find my item and cancelled my order. I told the gentleman sales associate I called earlier this morning and the call center supervisor called as well, both times confirmed my item is available and will be fulfilled. After telling the gentleman sales associate this, minutes later he said he found my item in the holding area. I asked him, why did you not check all areas before cancelling my order? He then replied, I don't know, "you can come into the store and repurchase the item again." This is a poor experience, the purpose of online ordering is the convenience of paying in advance and picking up my desired order, not having my order cancelled and then forcing to pay in store. The gentleman sales associated acted out of poor negligence and did not search all locations for my items in the store. I should have received a phone call if my item could not have been fulfilled. The gentleman sales associate should have partnered with other coworkers to confirm if anyone spoke to me that morning I called, since the female associate confirmed she placed my item on hold for me that morning. Customer service call center should have a stronger communication between store locations to ensure the best customer service experience to avoid situations like this. I would hate to have this happen to me again yet alone any future customers. The online ordering system and store systems are delayed and need to be synchronized in real time and not delayed. This is a poor business model and needs to improve. Steven Madden corporation needs to be better. read more

My wife wanted to stop by this store after we finish eating nearby to check out their shoes. This store is on the first floor near JCPenney and Coffee Beans. The staff are wonderful here and polite especially when my wife wanted to try on the shoes in her size. She found some shoes she likes but decided to check if it's cheaper at another store. They were cheaper at another store and they don't price match here so she decided she'll get it there instead. read more

Service was so bad I came in today for one specific shoe so I had asked the cashier if they had my size as soon as I asked , she said no so I asked if there was any left in my size in the back and she said no again she didn't even try to help out her answer was always no. I stayed to look at other stuff they had but the vibes seemed off so I left. I thought I would walk out the store happy with the shoes I wanted but instead I walked out disappointed. read more

Genuinely the worst store in the mall. They sold me display shoes and then when I noticed after I payed they wouldn't let me return them and made the accusation that I wore them...which I did not. For $110 dollar shoes I want decent quality shoes that are NEW. read more

The girl with the blonde piece of hair on the front was very rude just because they were 15 minutes away from closing, I ask for different shoes for a size an every shoe I asked she said she did not have the size I asked for 3 different ones ,and none of them had the size they should not have people like her working in here read more

I felt like me being in the store was a huge imposition to the girl working. After I finally got her to acknowledge that I was there she begrudgingly got me the size I asked for and basically threw the box at me. I'm gunna order online. read more

Today I came in and there were 3 girls behind the counter just talking about food and were so laid about it. Extremely unprofessional. Then there was the girl that was helping me and the shoes weren't fitting right so I kept asking for a 61/2 and 7 which they just didn't fit right unfortunately. The last time I asked if I can see a different style she was looking at the other associate and they both made it obvious that I was getting in there nerves because I was clearly trying my best to find something to get. I asked the associate if I was getting on her nerves but I think she thought I didn't notice. So right then and there I decided to leave. I have worked retail back in the days for several years and it's a shame how retail is these days it's sad Never coming to their Steve Madden ever again read more

Staff is unfriendly and visibly annoyed to be working. Associate looked displeased to be providing customer service.

I had to go back in because the sandals immediately broke when I put them on (no one's fault just a faulty buckle it happens). I was really nervous about going back in because the shoes were final sale and the sales associate was originally so rude to me I figured it was going to be a whole thing. Luckily she wasn't there and the two associates that helped me were nice and damaged out the defective pair and ordered me a replacement and it was nbd. Took a while to get them in the mail, but overall I'm happy with the shoes and and the second interaction was positive, overall not a bad store just one bad employee. read more

Judith provided great service over the phone, and helped find the Beldev boots. I've been searching for the boots for awhile, and found it with her help. She was able to apply a promotion to the shoes also, and really went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. If anyone has earned a raise, it's Judith. Thank you! read more

This company does NOT stand by their product. I bought a TERRIBLY designed pair of shoes that would not stay on my foot and their reply to me was too bad, you're stuck with the price tag and there's no recourse-not even a 10% off a future order or a "sorry we don't have a better return policy". If the shoe weren't defective, I could understand, but WOW-I think I can find a company that values their customers better than this! read more

This is a thank you and appreciation post for Courtney at the Steve Madden store at the Glendale Galleria. I had some shoes that needed to be exchanged due to sizing issues. They were gifted to me and due to covid I was unable to go into a store. Once I was finally able to do so, another sales associate was very kind and found the right size at another store (glassy tan ) they were to mail me my shoes. Guess what !!!! Shutdown #2 the next day!!!!! I waited and waited and no shoes. I finally called and they explained the store due to covid had not opened back and as such the shoes weren't there :( , she tried really hard and I appreciated it, they kindly offered me store credit. Long story short I went back to the store (Glendale) to get my store credit Courtney assisted me. As I am looking around I see her on the phone calling and talking to different people ... Courtney found my shoes :) I went on Sunday and I got them today :). Courtney, thank you very much for everything and going above and beyond. Also, thank you to all the girls there because they were all helpful from the beginning either by phone or in person. read more

A few weeks ago I came here to exchange a pair of heels for a different size. I called before coming in to make sure they had what I wanted. The worker had me on hold for a while and I kept thinking "Wth woman. It doesn't take THAT long to check if you have my size." It turns out that they didn't BUT she had me on hold for so long bc she was calling other Steve Madden stores to check if I had my size, which was a lot more helpful than me doing it myself. She found a store so I went in to do the return/order. Long story short, I ended up exchanging my heels for a different pair! The worker that was helping me out had me try on another pair of heels that I absolutely fell in love with. I loved them so much that I didn't want to take them off! Don't you just hate that? You end up getting sucked in to buying them. So instead of walking out with the original pair I wanted, I got a whole new on! Doing more than I asked for plus finding me a heel to love is service to me! read more

The worst experience ever with what a resonable person would assume to be a major retail chain. On Sunday 12.28.15 .. I purchased a pair of boots from this mall store. Only wore the boots while trying them on, purchased them and continued shopping at the Galleria. . Less then 3 hours later (and never once leaving the mall) .. I decided that the boots needed to be returned (please note these were $179 boots) .. and after thinking about them i decided that they really dint fit all that great when I tried them on .. Less than 3 hours from purchasing these boots, i went back to the exact same store, maybe a half hour before closing . Went to make the return .. and would you belive that the "store manager" (really just the weekend key holder) .. gave me an attitude and created a very uncomfortable experience from the beginning. . Tellinge me the "refund system" is down and then asking why I was returning them .. She dint like the truth, which was I changed my mind and wanted my momey back .. I showed her my 3 hour old receipt. . At this point she COMPLETELY CHANGED her tune, and she tried to tell me she could not do the return now saying that these brand new never worn outside THEIR store boots . . are all.of a sudden "worn".. I was shocked ..then when I asked to speak with the manager .. she said that she was the manager .. when I asked to speak to her manager .. she said "dont you understand" the return part of our system is "out of order".. She then tells me this has been the case for over a week now .. (during the Holidays??) .. TERRIBLE. . I am no expert on consumer law but I dont think it is legal to sell a retail product in California without having a working refund mechanism. . I can't imagine this is the experience that the STEVE MADDEN company wants for their consumers.. I know it was not what i was expecting when shopping here .. DON'T DO IT .. I HAVE NEVER had a more uncomfortable retail experience as this.. I again asked for her managers name ... The District manager? General Manager. . Anyone who cares about the consumer .. Realizing I was getting NO WHERE; I asked for her name, the store phone number and the corporate office nimber.. I also left my name and number and asked to be called by the store manager on Monday. . Well by Tuesday, NO CALL back from anyone. . I called the corporate office (which is a JOKE and is a call center over seas somewhere) .. I had to explain the situation to 2 different representatives.. they listened. . Gave great lip service .. and by the end of the phone call .. I foolishly believed that I would finally get a follow-up phone call, and most importantly a resolution. . NOPE... As of yet (over 72 hours) .. I have NOT HEARD BACK from anyone. I immediately FILED A COMPLAINT with the BBB and the states ATTORNEY GENERAL .. I am sure that I will have a resolution. . Now But I will NEVER DO BUSINESS again with this company. .. and I strongly advise all to think twice .. NOT the REPUTABLE business they portray them selves to be. . STAY TUNED, I will update my review once I have a resolution. . BE WARNED. . DO NOT shop here iunless you are forced too. . read more

I went in today to exchange a pair of shoes I did not notice were damaged at the time of purchase. To be fair, I know that I should check out a pair of shoes, or anything else I am purchasing before actually buying it but I have a bad habit of just buying things and walking out of the store. I had purchased the shoes yesterday and the employees at the store remembered me as I was having a difficult time deciding between a few different pairs of shoes. I explained to the employee what my concerns were and she looked confused and turned to her manager for help. The manager said she would be able to exchange it for me. A few minutes later, the manager came by and checked the pair of shoes again and stated that the shoe was not "defected" but that I had done something to them, but in a passive aggressive manner. Though she made the return, I felt uncomfortable wit the way that she made me feel about the exchange. The shoes will not be taken out of her paycheck and the $140 I spent, did not come out of HER pocket, therefore, I did not appreciate the tone she took. I am thankful they were able to exchange it, again, but, it is important to have good customer service. read more

If I could I wouldn't give a star at all! I have no problem with store but I have a real big problem with personnel! The girls are VERY RUDE! They need to take a class on customer service because they don't have any! Especially one girl in particular (Cindy). This girl is so rude and sarcastic! She made a rude comment out loud which I so happened to have heard. I was still shopping for some shoes but this girl must have thought I was gone but to her surprise and to the surprise of her other coworker I was still in the store! So I will basically be calling her general manager and I will gladly let him know how these young lady's acted towards a customer. Will not be going back to that Steve Madden again nor will my husband, sister or sister-in-law! read more

Horrible customer service and cheap product. Anytime shoe prices are over $100 they should be quality, especially with the persona Steve Madden brand puts out there. I had a pair of shoes from them that completely came apart while I was wearing them and all corporate wanted to do was offer $50. I fell, skinned my knees, and sprained my ankle, and all they offer is $50 smh! Stay away from Steve Madden shoes. The quality definitely doesn't match the image they are selling! read more

Let's talk about how great this store is. I keep hearing girls talk about it being pricey but let me tell you how wonderful this is!!! Then when they have sales , they are actually GOOD sales! In Glendale there is ton of shoe store right? But no this place has everything you look for; flats, sandals, boots, booties, heels, stilettos, and just everything. I think it's a perfect store itself. Also the employees there are also so helpful and if you need an opinion they are there! read more

Love their shoe styles and great customer service. Robert was awesome and very helpful. (Hope that was his name).

I went in here yesterday to grab a pair of sandals and got the nicest welcoming and was offered help once they saw I was considering some items. This is my favorite location in SoCal and NorCal, Steve Madden is my absolute favorite in shoes and even purses. I've been obsessed with my charcoal gray Mojave's and decided to purchase the last tan Mojave's they had which was back in the middle of January. Sadly when I first wore the tan Mojave's the shoe sockets kept snapping on me and I was so paranoid they wouldn't be able to do anything for me since I didn't have the receipt or even the box they came in when I purchased them. I made a phone call and the women I spoke to was so accommodating told me to bring them in tomorrow (today) since she was opening and could help me. I was able to exchange them or order them online all for free. I've never had that from any shoe company!!! Now I'm patiently waiting on my new Mojave's, and I'm so excited! read more

My go to location is Soho, 3rd street and any large SM store but I happened to be in the area. Now, the selection is quite small but Shakirah made a true experience. Perhaps not my go to SM location, but Steve has the right manager in there to run his business. read more

This store is great! They have tons of cute shoes! And the sales people, especially Mario, are super nice and helpful! Ingrid is definitely my fav there! Definitely recommend! read more

Steve Madden SUCKS. The customers service EVERYTHING. Whenever you buy anything from Steve Madden check your card or bank account immediately. I bought a shoe and took it back to return, they didn't take it back for stupid reason. They told me they will prove match it which was ok because the shoe was on sale. Then we spoke with the manager & he was supposed to refund the money back into my card. Same night I found out my transaction which showed that the money taken out immediately after they refund it. I went back the day after and told them about it and they didn't know what did the guy do. They told me we gave you gift card and you used it !!!!!! Which was total lie. I wanted them to follow up and return my money back. For $45 I waited 3 months and after 20 times walk in and call, I've been told that the store manager did fraud and used the card under my name and they are on the process for investigating him. They said we decided to give you gift card. I told them I don't need their gift card because I'm not going to buy anything from Steve madden anymore I want my money back into my account. They told me I have to wait if I want my money back probably about two or three more months to get my $45 back. Don't deal with thieves. Be aware where are you spending money. read more

This review is not about this location but in general their products are poorly made. I ordered Realove in blush in size 5.5 online and I received a scratched pair and the one shoe was size 6. Never experienced such bad customer service since being in America. Every other shop I've been too have been brilliant, I bought a pair of boots which cost me $185 with tax which ripped on first wearing them, took them back within a week where I was refused a refund, saying that they had been worn and to read the back of the receipt. Which incidentally you clearly only get once purchased as their are no signs in store that I could see, Informing you that no matter what even if the shoes or boots are faulty if worn they will not give a refund. After many calls to customer service along with emails,I finally got an email saying they would give me a full refund. I had to then get another 2 cabs to and from store to get this done. Luckily I saw the assistant who first served me, Jessica who was lovely, just a shame the managers were not so helpful. As I told the actual store manager Denise, this should have been resolved at source, instead of me having to escalate a complaint. I have been a big fan of Steve Madden for a few years now, and always buy many shoes and boots when here in the US, from now on I will have to find another brand as I have lost all faith in SM. Disappointed read more

Customer service SUCKS !!!! Roxy THE MANAGER was extremely rude when I was trying to exchange $100 pair of shoes that were damaged !!! They sold me the display shoe with out telling me.
