I finally had a chance to come visit this Shoe Palace inside Burbank Mall tonight. I been to this mall so many times but never visited this store until now. They were not busy at all when I was here. When I walked inside, a worker greeted me and asked if I needed any help but I told her I was just browsing. She left me be and I went to look at their Nike shoes. They had some nice collections but the prices will vary here so be aware. I also took a look at some clothing and hats they have here as well. If you walk further down the store, you'll see that they have some Adidas shoes and puma as well. read more

Happened twice, I asked for a shoe in my size they bring me one shoe. This practice is discriminatory. I'm a 40 year old Black woman who's been collecting sneakers since I was 10. Bringing me one shoe means I'm your mind or companies belief is that if you bring me two I will dart off with said shoes. Although dressed down I'm always wearing a decent pair of kicks myself. I have a 401k and buy stocks. Not all black people steal. I resent the fact that this has happened multiple times in this same store. I bought a pair of Jordan 3s and a pair of foamposites today. I asked about it and the young lady said "you know some times I ask if people want both shoes, but yea people steal". Right I'm a heavy 40 year old I'm not running off anywhere fast. I'm done going to this establishment and I would encourage people to at most try on in store if you don't know your size but don't shop here. I've been living in Burbank for 15 years, black people aren't the ones running off or committing crimes in this area. read more

Diana was awesome! I've been looking for a very specific color and style of shoe for work purposes. 8 hours of retail means I need a sturdy shoe, and Diana clocked that right away. She knew exactly which shoes would meet my needs, what styles were available, and what would work with my budget. Not only was she knowledgeable, she was empathetic and understanding of why certain shoes would be better for me vs. others. Diana's experience is the reason I'll be coming back to this store for my next big shoe purchase. I know that even if my dream shoe isn't on the shelves, the workers will help me find a suitable alternative or give me ideas for workarounds. I entered the store to purchase a pair of Air Force 1s. As soon as I stepped inside, the atmosphere was different. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, especially Diego, the store manager. He made me feel at ease and went above and beyond to assist me. I couldn't have asked for better help. He was ready to help me find the right shoe size for a Christmas gift. Brought them in the next day and they're telling me it's heavily worn. How can I "heavily wear" shoes in 24 hours? Makes zero sense. All 4 employees giving me a blank stare - USELESS. I visited Shoe Pavilion at 7:30 P.M. Today, Monday, June 5th and was disappointed by the poor customer service provided by two employees (one wearing thick fake eyelashes, and the other with long straight brown hair) both not wearing name badges to identify themselves. From the moment I walked in, they seemed disinterested in helping me find what I was looking for and were not friendly or welcoming. When I asked them for assistance, they were unhelpful and dismissive, making me feel like I was bothering them. I asked for shoes in my size and they told me to go to the women's section for my shoes. The women's section only has size 6.5 on display and was of NO help. I asked them again for help and they were again rude and dismissive. Their lack of professionalism and poor attitude made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable in the store. I was hoping for a positive shopping experience, but unfortunately, the behavior of these employees left me with a negative impression of Shoe Pavilion. I hope that the management team takes action to address this issue and provides better training to their employees on how to provide excellent customer service. Went here on Saturday afternoon looking for shoes, I found some new balance shoes I was looking for, lots of employees just standing around and ask one for help, they found my shoe size and I liked the shoe, but the girl sales lady said if I buy the shoe there's no return, well you have to wear it a while to see if it works! A newly opened store located next to Sears at the second floor of Burbank Town Center. While it's true that the mall is in dire need of new tenants, another sporting goods store isn't what we are looking for. I believe the mall has already more than enough stores with the same line of goods and commodities. I will be honest to say that after my visit today, I might not set foot again here unless they have a massive clearance sale. This isn't a store that will cater to my needs. I usually go to the outlets if ever I'm in need of a more decent pair of running or walking shoes. The store is very clean and well organized. I saw four members of staff, a pretty good number of employees on a weeknight for a store like this. However, I feel that the stocks are very limited especially the sportswear. read more

Whoever was working at the 4pm shift. We walked in with the hopes of buying shoes and picks out some to try. It wasn't busy at all and yet we waited 10 minutes for the workers to still not get the sizes. We were told the 2 shoes we asked to try were in the back. One worker went to the back for a long period of time and came back with someone else's shoes, walks away and assigns someone else to grab the shoes we ask for. Now this new worker comes over and asks us what shoes we would like to see. We told them that the other coworker had already taken them. Then they proceed to go back and forth to each other to the point it we decided to take our business elsewhere. It wasn't the time that upset me but the lack of communication and customer service. read more

This location is very small compared to other location. The mall is kind of a dead location so i would understand why the store is kind of small. I called before showing up and Eric was nice enough to assist over the phone that they did have the new Jordan instock, so I don't waste my time going for nothing. On 12/28/2020 at approximately 3:45 pm, I came into your store to exchange two hoodies and a pair of Jordans I purchased for my brother. I had a receipt which I showed to you sales representative Josue No 15240, and told  him I wanted to walk around to see if I wanted anything. I looked around and there were other patrons around trying their shoes as well, I looked at their benches and they had their shoe boxes right next to them. Some were walking around, some were looking in the mirror to see if they liked what they were about to purchase. I found a pair of Jordan's that I really liked and asked Josue to see if he had them on size 9. He then went inside and came back with a box in no time. He then opened the box and handed me only one foot of the pair, and kept the other foot of the pair behind the counter with him. I found it a little weird because I saw all the other patrons with both pairs on their bench, but I went with it, I sat down, and tried the right foot of the pair. As I was getting ready to request the other side, another sales person approached me and asked me if he could help me with anything, I then requested the other side of the shoes. Josue then looked at me and said that if I wanted to try the other side I would have to get the shoe from the display. I looked at him, and pointed to all the other people in the store with their boxes on their seats. Josue then reiterated by saying that it was store policy to only hand one foot of the shoe to customers. I again looked around the store, and the only difference between the other customers and me was my skin color. I was the only black person at the store. I felt wrong, humiliated, small, you know, I have done everything right in life, I have gone to school, educated myself, tried to stay out of trouble, just so I don't play into the stupid stereotypes society wrongfully input on black people, just so I would never find myself in a situation like this. As it was happening, I gathered enough dignity to calmly ask Josue for my money back. You know, the thing about racism today is that it can be very subtle. Josue did not call me the N word, or denied me service, but it's that feeling in your stomach that you just can't comprehend. Josue continued to give me an attitude as he handed me my money back. I walked out of the store, and called my mother, who urged me to contact the store manager. Before I called the store manager, I called two other shoe palace locations, on CityWalk and Sherman Oaks to ask if there was such a policy, and both stores told me that there was no such a policy, especially because that Burbank location was inside of a mall with plenty of security. In all honesty, there wouldn't be anywhere to run, if I was the thief Josue was expecting me to be. I then proceeded to call the store and ask for the store manager Carlos, who was in a meeting at that time. The person I spoke with asked me for my name and number so Carlos could call me back. That was yesterday at 5 pm. It has been now close to 24 hours since that call, and I have yet to hear from Carlos. So I decided to write this email to make my complaint official.  I am not trying to get anything from this other than just tell you my story, so maybe this unsettling feeling gets a little better. This location is by far the best shoe palace in LA/Valley area. I was helped by Chris the store manager who was so helpful patient who went over and beyond. I went to the store originally for a pair of Nike Cortez but left with two pairs of Jordan's. He looked everywhere and found the shoes I needed. Customer service was absolutely fantastic. Service at this place is awful. These 2 girls didn't bother to ask if I needed help, they didn't even bother with a greeting ... and there was no one in the store. I went up to one of the girls - who kind of just looked at me like I was bugging her and let her know that I needed to measure my daughter's foot ... I got a ... "uhhhh, yeah we don't have that here." How can your shoe store NOT have a foot measure?? I left and went across the way to Journey's ... with great service.
