The quality is unparalleled, but hands down I fell in love with the Vixen shop because of their sweet, lovely shop manager, Lisa. She is so warm and welcoming - has gone above and beyond to help me find the right size and encourage me to try new styles. She is absolutely the sweetest. I'd say I'm going to miss her, BUT I heard they will be opening a new store for their sister brand, La Femme En Noir, that Lisa will also run. Let me just say: she BETTER! To me, she is as iconic to the brand as Micheline herself! These gorgeous clothes will surely be missed, but I'm truly hopeful that the closing of the Vixen brand, will be an expansion of LFEN. It has absolutely been a beautiful experience while it's lasted, and thanks to the incredible workmanship of the Vixen brand, I am confident I will continue to enjoy my amazing frocks for years and years to come. Here were we on a rainy Sunday morning checking out the thrift stores at Burbank. Since there are few stores on Magnolia blvd, we strolled up and down this street because of the different stores hours. We hit the Goodwill first which opens at 10am. This store is clean and well organized. You can get the best priced items here. We then visited the Best of times, this is also our favorite because the owner is so friendly! She has light classic music playing in the background and willing to forego the tax for cash payments. Small store though. The playclothes have a very attractive window display. The items here are somewhat pricey:$30 and up. You find yourself travel back in time to the 1900s-1980s which in itself is a treat. They have a large collections of vintage hats; also has suits, costumes, shoes, accessories for men, women, and children. Young attendants, large store space. The last store was " it's a wrap" selling items from the movie sets/productions. We went a few days after the New Year and there was a 75% markdown. They have some pieces priced as high as in the thousands. I don't like this store, it's small , you can't escape the sweaty smell from the clothes. It's a no return for me. I will take more pictures next time when we visit of the stores that we like.

I needed a last-minute Felix the Car Clock (eyes go back and forth while tail wags), and there they were -- in a dozen different colors. Don't sleep on these small independent shops; the price was cheaper than Amazon's, and I took it straight home without worrying about a Porch Pirate. When it was finally my turn, the associate helping me was polite and doing everything right. While she was processing my return, the phone rang. The manager -- who was standing right by the register doing nothing -- repeatedly told the associate to pick up the phone. The associate answered, put the caller on a brief hold, and continued helping me. Then the manager said, "Why didn't you just answer them? Maybe their question was quick." I couldn't believe it. The associate was actively helping a customer -- me -- and the manager expected her to drop everything instead of answering the phone herself. I asked the associate if that was her manager, and she said yes. I didn't catch the manager's name, but with my receipt and the timestamp, it'll be easy to figure out who was working that shift -- and I fully plan to call corporate to file a complaint. My transaction took less than a minute. The manager could have easily picked up the phone instead of making her employee juggle two customers at once. It was disrespectful to both the employee and the customer, and it ruined what should've been a quick, simple visit. This location seriously needs better leadership.
