I wanted to check in and express my gratitude toward the RRS team! I've bought a few pairs of shoes through the years with them and more recently I also joined a local run club they have hosted. As for the run meet-up's - excellent! Thank you! For my two recent purchases of the ASICS Super blast and the Adidas Evo (today's purchase), not only have they gone above and beyond, but they made these two recent experiences smooth and seamless! I had the pleasure of working with Melissa and Kayla! Thank you both for all you do and for the amazing service you helped me with. Definitely will keep swinging by! Thank you !! read more

Zero stars. I will never come here again. Karen manager and dumb employees. I called to ask about a shoe (specific parameters). They said they would hold it for me. I drove 1 hour. When I arrived there were 2 employees on the sales floor helping 2 customers. There were 2 employees in the back stock room laughing with each other. Jolene came out. would not listen when I said I didn't want to sign up for VIP. "Is this mandatory, if not I'm not interested" "Ok well I'm going to tell you about it anyway then you can decide." What type of passive customer service is this? I purchase the shoe anyway since it's the last one in the city. Take it to my car to put it on for the gym and notice that the shoe was in worn condition. I returned it on the spot. Receipt for proof. WHY WOULD I EVER BUY SHOES HERE WHEN THEIR COMPETITION HAS THE SAME MACHINES AND BETTER PRICING. read more

Beware deceptive online pricing and upsell chaos. If you've never been here, here's what to expect: You'll enter, the staff is friendly and attentive, and they have a good selection. Regardless of what shoe you want to try on, you're going to be ushered to a computer where they measure your feet and give you an analysis and then fit you for very expensive custom insoles, upwards of $100. They'll then recommend 4-5 different shoes based on this, and the price range will vary. If you had a shoe in mind that you wanted to try, they'll bring that as well, but they'll push the others. They'll put the custom insoles in everything as an upsell technique, so you'll have to take it out if you really want to try on the shoes without the expensive add on. The insoles were meh. Didn't do much for me. I asked for the shoe I came to try on and was satisfied with those and ready to check out until they said the sale price listed on the website with free in store pickup wasn't applicable to in-store purchase ($30 difference) unless I signed up for a membership which was a $20 trial for 6 months and somehow tied to those damn expensive insoles and custom socks that I also didn't want. So if I wanted the sale price, I'd have to spend $20 somehow and be tied to those insoles I said I didn't want to begin with? I dunno. I felt like I was drowning and somehow my $150 shoes were going to end up costing me $300. Stop trying to make everything a membership subscription. How many pairs of running shoes do you think I'm going to buy every 6 months? Craziness. I went home and ordered my shoes on Amazon for $140. I really tried to go in-store and support a business in my neighborhood but no thanks on all of that. read more

I visited Road Runner Sports in Studio City as a new runner looking for expert advice on shoes and insoles. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of what I expected from a specialty running store. When I asked about the differences between two running shoes, I was told it was "personal preference" without any explanation of how the shoes actually differed. When I asked about two custom insole options, the employee simply read the product names back to me rather than explaining the features or benefits of each. What surprised me most was that the one topic every employee seemed eager to discuss was the VIP membership. I learned far more about the membership program than I did about the products I came in to buy. I also found several employees dismissive when I asked follow-up questions, which made the experience feel more frustrating than helpful. The entire reason I chose a specialty running store instead of shopping online was to get knowledgeable guidance. Instead, I left feeling like I had learned almost nothing and would have been better off doing my own research. Very disappointing experience. read more

This is a nice store with great staff looking to help you find the right shoe. The selection in store is limited but they can order whatever you need and have it shipped. The prices are pretty standard but they offer a small discount if you're a member and they also have a rewards program. They do custom insoles as well. read more

I came here today to get my insoles exchanged and we were greeted by Christian who helped us through the whole process. He was super kind and attentive, all while giving us our space to look around and feel out for different shoes. I had a great experience here working with Christian, and did not feel pressured or misunderstood with my feet/ shoe preferences. Second time at a roadrunner store and I have been pleased with the service every time! Thank you Christian! I'll be back! read more

Super helpful and caring staff. The big issue I had was the surprise price of $130 for custom insoles... The fact that they don't charge you for them after they've been cut and molded, means that if you don't end up buying them, they just toss them. Which leads me to believe that the upcharging for some foam and plastic is crazy. $130 will get you a whole ass new pair of shoes. I do really appreciate the info from the foot scan. All the employees are very knowledgeable, but this business model doesn't sit right with me. Even the sales rep gave me a big " I get it, the price is crazy" nod when I turned them down at the register. read more

Used to love this place. VIP customer. They are nice and they are trained well. They get busy, and they are a banana republic. Truly rude to customers waiting in front of me. Told me 20 min wait, after 35 min. How much longer? 20 min. Customer gone forever. read more

I've accompanied my sister-in-law here before while her husband went through the fit test and got a pair of recommended shoes. I've been wanting to do the fit test as well but haven't found the time yet. Over Black Friday I got a nice pair of Brooks online though and joined the VIP family rewards. If you are in the VIP rewards group, it has a 90-day Perfect Fit Guarantee so you can return for store credit, which can be used toward a different shoe or different size of the same shoe. If purchased online, you can get a refund within that time period. I called customer service to get the same shoe in a different size at the same price and went to the store to do my return of the first size. If you return in person vs mailing, the return is free. Customer service is great both over phone or in store. The three employees there in the store including the manager were so helpful with my return. Definitely recommend this location and this shoe company in general. read more

I recently had a knee replacement and I have plantar fasciitis. My doctor recommended getting Brooks running shoes. Costly but worth it. I went in and explained to the sales associate that I need a 6.5 wide. They don't have 6.5 wide in stock but if I purchase a 6.5 wide and wait a few days for delivery they could get it. The problem is if I try on the shoe and it doesn't fit, if I purchase the membership I can get a refund. STOP TRYING TO SELL ME MORE!!! read more

We had a tiny wait but their customer service is legendary! We had called ahead to have them hold some sneakers in my size, and they held onto two colors for me so I could choose in person. The manager was helpful and patient with me, and helped my boyfriend find a compression strap for his knee since he pullled a muscle. With the VIP points/discount and personalized service you can't get online, this was a great experience with a better price! read more

I'm surprised at all the great reviews. On my one visit there a woman named Kayla was so nasty to me. I waited atleast 20 minutes to buy two pair of running shoes and she was too busy with the guy who came in after me. Told me to "wait my turn!!!' She left a very powerful first impression to RRS. I really regret no following up immediately and making a formal complaint. Funny thing, I'd be surprised if she was still working there and not fired. I really hope that you'd 'do better.' I've told all my Studio City and LA friends to avoid RRS. read more

If I could give zero stars I definitely would! I just left the store and my experience was horrendous. I put my name on the list to be waited on as the store was extremely busy. Waiting and waiting and I noticed that people who had come after me were being helped. I say something to Kayla who is absolutely wonderful and sweet. The manager's name is SONJA and this review is for her!! She was so rude and basically called me a liar saying they had called my name and I wasn't listening. I mean that's absolutely ridiculous. I was in the store waiting and heard many many names that weren't mine!! She's terrible and lost a Coustomer. I'm almost without words. read more

First of all this used to be a great store. Loved the customer service. But times have changed. I would not recommend this place. First it must've been shift change. No greeting of customers anymore. Two employees said goodbye when we walked in. The one employee who was left there never asked if I needed help. I had to go up to her and inquire about a pair of shoes I saw on Road Runners website. She said: Oh we don't have those shoes here, you can only get them our website. I then said it doesn't say that on your website . Then she said she doesn't like the Road Runners website. It's never updated. I then asked her I came a long way to this store, is it possible you have something similar to the shoes I showed her. She said No! Then sorry with a follow up of Have a nice Day. Then proceeded to talk to the young boys again.. I guess this is the new generation of customer Service. I better customer service at BevMo. read more

Customer service really needs to improve. The last two times I've been to this store, I was completely ignored. I walked around looking at shoes and waiting for assistance, but no one ever acknowledged me or offered to help. What made it even more frustrating was that neither visit was particularly busy, so it didn't seem like staff were overwhelmed or unable to help customers. For a specialty running store that prides itself on customer service and expert fitting advice, this was really disappointing. Unfortunately, these experiences make me hesitant to shop here again. read more

This was my first time at this type of store and didn't they existed until my friend brought me. They specialize in finding the right shoes for you depending on what you need it for, for example, if you need it for running, other active sports, if you're at jobs where you're standing for long periods, health (ie: plantar fasciitis), /!: etc.. They have a machine called Fit Finder that can find out your foot length (shoe size), foot width (whether you need wide or regular size shoes), arch height, static foot alignment (whether you need shoes with more stability or less stability .. if you have flat feet) , and there's more (ball width, ball girth, instep height, heel width). Mitch helped the three of us and he was so helpful with his recommendations especially the shoes he had brought out to us to try. The wait was long and we were there for at least 2+ hours for the whole Process and was there until closing. We waited for at least 30 minutes before they got to us to get fitted. The rest of the time, we were trying on shoes for the correct sizes and comfort, but Mitch was helping 3 other customers at the same time so more waiting. Thanks Mitch for being so great! They were really understaffed here with only two people working on a Saturday afternoon. We were initially going to give 5 stars but the wait was really bad. We didn't expect to be at a shoe store for more than 2 hours so I deducted one star to 4 stars. Take advantage of their VIP program. It's $20 for the first year and then goes up to 50 bucks a year. We get discounts on merch including the shoes, 90 day return program no matter the condition, and much more. Shoes are really expensive but it's worth it to be able to find the shoes that you need. They also have custom made insoles for your feet (your feet will thank you) , different types of socks, therapy guns, other arch support, comfortable sandals, and etc... There's one bathroom for customers with code and appreciate that there's one for employees as well. This store is located in a large lot. It was a busy parking lot where people come and go in different directions. I appreciated the traffic light at one of the exits so we were able to make a left turn. read more

Came here because my previous shoes were wearing down and my knees and hips were starting to hurt. A YouTuber I watch mentioned they could analyze your feet to get the best fit which sounded really valuable to me as someone that does a lot of walking/running. I called ahead to make sure they were open since it was Labour Day and the person who picked up the phone was friendly and energetic. I was thankful they were open and though they were understandably crowded, the staff were attentive, asked if I had been helped yet, offered me water, and made sure I didn't feel forgotten while I waited. Noe (helped by Christian when Noe took a lunch break) asked me some questions, took me through the fit analysis process (which was super cool!), explained my results, made recommendations, and was very patient through my admittedly very long and deliberate selection process, all while managing to attend to other customers without making me feel ignored. I'm a very thorough shopper, but Noe never rushed me and reassured me that this was his job and he wanted to help. Though the staff made add-on recommendations, I did not feel pressured or strong-armed to buy anything I didn't want. I had a great experience shopping here and will definitely come back next time I need a pair of shoes - thank you Noe (and Christian)! read more

Good selection of shoes. Sales people are friendly if you can get to them. It can be a little bit of a bummer to go to these stores. If you walk in and all the employees are busy and no one makes eye contact and acknowledges you, good luck. Do you: A. Take a seat at a bench that is unoccupied but numbered. B. Politely interrupted to let someone know you are there and when they get a chance could they please... C. Stand by the shoes that you are interested in and cross your fingers. After a while of trying A and C I went with "D". Walk out and just buy through the website. read more

I thought I was being paranoid until I checked the Yelp. It seems they choose one person to neglect and be weird and rude to a day. I got in at 10 am and was not helped till nearly 11 am. I watched Claudia count change and pose with a Celsius for Instagram before helping me. I was the only person in line. Didn't get any sincere help until Jojo took her shift. Missed a work meeting being in there for almost 3 hours. Super weird passive aggressive vibes. And I even signed up for the membership thinking maybe this was a one off weird day but it really seems like it sucks and aligns with my experience.i feel dumb for being kind to people who were unkind to me. An update- the shoes are horrific that were forced on me and hurt my feet significantly. I feel like they knew this would happen. read more

I walked into this store thinking I'd be buying a pair of running shoes. Instead, I got a front-row seat to the worst customer service performance I've ever witnessed... and trust me, I've been to the DMV. First, they couldn't find my account. Weird, since I just paid for a membership here a few weeks ago. After a few minutes of confusion, they discovered they'd actually put my membership... on someone else's account. Incredible. Love that for me. My money, my membership - given to a random stranger. Solid start. Eventually, they told me they could "fix" it, which basically meant I could still get my member discount. At this point, I'm thinking: okay, problem solved, we can move on. Wrong. The two employees helping me - one of them a manager, no less - acted like me asking for help was ruining their entire day. I was polite, I was patient, I was literally just trying to buy shoes. But the level of rudeness, eye-rolls, and general "we'd rather be anywhere else" energy was something to behold. They finally found a shoe that worked for me (miracle of the century), gave me my discount, and informed me that I couldn't return them because I "wasn't a member." Yes, the same membership I had just paid for but they put under someone else's name. Make it make sense. Anyway, I leave... and while I'm driving home, I realize the cherry on top: these geniuses gave me the wrong size. Fantastic. I drive all the way back, walk in, and the same employee from earlier greets me with - you guessed it - another eye roll. No apology, no accountability, just pure unprofessionalism. Thankfully, another (different) employee stepped in, was actually helpful, and gave me solid advice. But by that point, the damage was done. This wasn't just a bad shopping trip, this was a case study in how to actively drive customers away. Between the membership fiasco, the rudeness, the wrong size shoes, and the overall "we don't care" vibe, I can say without hesitation: I will never be back. If you're looking for running shoes, go literally anywhere else. Save your time, your gas money, and your sanity! read more

Overall, the place is nice for activewear, Staff is friendly however, it is understaffed. As soon as it gets busy, you may have to wait 30 minutes or more to get a representative to help you. Selection is also very limited but again if you're looking for generic, but good quality activewear, and this is a good spot to go. Just be sure not to go at a busy time. The one thing that I think that makes this place very special is there custom insoles. They have a machine that reads every variable about how you walk in your leg, Lane, etc. and then make a custom insult for you based on that information. It appears to be a very comprehensive scan of your foot and everything related to your foot impacts your whole body so an important part of being active is to make sure that your feet are taken care of because bad feet can cause bad back can cause headaches and 1000 other issues so that is one reason I would be back to this place is because of that foot scan. read more

I had never been to this running shoe store, but because mine went out of business, I decided to try them. And I am so happy I did. I was lucky enough to get Kathryn because she happened to have the same injury that I was dealing with. I was looking for a good pair of walking shoes. She was so knowledgeable about the kind of shoe I should get. I'm older and I needed a shoe with lots of cushion. She not only found me the perfect shoe, but she also molded my foot for a personalized arch support. The place was packed and she had a lot of patience with me. Came in to inquire about a refund for a pair of shoes that were purchased 90 days prior. Store was super packed and seemed to be a bit understaffed. Even though there was a waitlist, Sonia came and assisted and answered a few questions that I had. She then went on to help a few customers but always came back and checked on me, even checking the store room for a few pairs of shoes for me in between customers. She answered every question I had and went above and beyond to assist me even though there were a ton of customers in the store. She even offered advice on sizing and fit and handled my return/exchange in the utmost professional manner. Was truly a pleasant experience and always informative. I'm not sure I have ever had a worse experience dealing with a company in my life. I bought a pair of shoes at another location, and used my VIP membership to exchange them here. They had to order my size, but assured me I would get them in a few business days. The order still does not exist on my account. I've called Road Runner customer service something like 20 times in the past week, they have had no idea where my order is. I've been placed on hold and hung up on, sent to voicemails, then sat in hour long queues. Not once have I received any evidence of my order except for my paper receipt. The store manager even told me today that they are canceling my order and I am "not getting the shoes". Customer service then said they have no idea what she's talking about, great company, huh?
