On Sunday afternoon, May 31, I went shopping with my mom at Nordstrom Rack after our trip to Costco. She wanted to stop by and do some shopping there, so we went together. I browsed through the clothing section, and my mom bought a pair of On sneakers. She absolutely loved them and said they were very comfortable. I looked through a lot of clothes, but unfortunately, I didn't find anything I liked that day, so I didn't end up buying anything. I visited this clothing store recently and was pleasantly surprised by the huge selection of clothes for both women and men. There are so many beautiful models, colors, and quality fabrics to choose from. I especially like the dresses here -- the styles are very trendy and elegant. What I didn't like was the long line at the checkout, although there were already four cashiers working, which helped move things faster. There was also a big line for the fitting rooms. However, the staff handled the situation professionally: they called another employee to help organize people for the fitting rooms while the first employee was busy giving out online orders. I also think the store could really benefit from having self-checkout or express checkout lanes. Some customers have carts full of items, while others are waiting in the same line with only one or two things to buy, which makes the wait feel longer. Overall, I left satisfied with my shopping experience. The prices are above average, so I don't come here very often because of that. But I always check the sale sections, and that's where I usually find beautiful dresses for myself. The store also has a great selection of men's clothing. My mom went in to exchange a gift that my wife gave her because the size was a little off. When all was said and done my mom was supposed to get $31 back after the exchange. She received $15 on a card and as she was reviewing the new receipt, she noticed that the dollar amount was off and so she immediately returned to speak with the cashier, but she was gone. The manager came out to discuss the situation and took a statement but did nothing else. This tells me that this Nordstrom Rack is not a place that looks out for their customers, especially elderly customers. If you visit this location, please be aware. This store can be a mess during the weekends. There are clothes everywhere. Shoes on the floor and not in the right spot. Employees can be a headache in this location. Most of them have attitude and give customers looks which can be uncomfortable. However, to my surprise today I got the best customer service. It was the first time cashier was very professional, smiling and greeted me. Her name was Erica, she needs a raise for the outstanding customer service. I am a very loyal Nordstrom shopper and due to the uptick in people stealing packages, I order items for pick up and typically order to the Burbank empire location because it's the closest to my house. In the last year, the quality of personnel has dramatically declined. Specially in the dressing room with order pickup. A few of the people in the dressing room have basic manners but most of them don't. They act inconvenienced to be interacting with humans that expect them to do their job and they don't listen. I order a lot of items and either due to sizing or date needed, I end up not picking up some items because now you can't return Nordstrom marketplace items to a rack store so I have to drive 45 min+ to return to a Nordstrom store. I always ask the attendant if I can show them which items I do/do not want to pick up (if there are items I dont want to pick up) and most of these attendants roll their eyes and dismiss what I say as if I don't know what I'm talking about. (A few understand and do a good job.) Then they do the exact opposite of what I asked and as a result I have to either wait in the 20 minute line to return or drive 45 minutes to return. I understand this can be avoided if I didn't order items I don't plan to pick up. Sometimes it happens if deliveries are delayed or due to sizes. Nordstrom is really losing me. I usually buy what I can from them as a card holder and I liked their customer retention policy. If they added a "cancel order" feature to the app, this could be avoided. As I'm writing this, and there is a line of 30 people, a cashier walked off and said they're taking lunch. I've also been charged for items I didn't purchase, I've been given other people's items, I've been given Nordstrom managers documents, etc. As a result, I've had to have "managers" (it's always a different person that says they're the manager) correct these issues numerous times and they're all just as rude. Today "the manager" was rude and defensive, pretty clear why the other workers are rude if that's their example. She mansplained me on "process" despite me telling her I know process because I come here weekly for years. She also started asking passive aggressive questions such as "so do you just order items and not pick them up for fun?" Please hire people with manners and train them accordingly. This store feels So trashy. The customer service is on par with a dollar store. I won't be coming back. First time at this location and I must say- it's a great one! The store is spacious, well laid out, and clean. Fitting Rooms are clearly labeled with large signage. Employees I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. There was a long line, but it moved quickly. I was searching for two knit type long knit jackets for some upcoming holiday parties, and settled on two different darling pieces. Absolutely WILL NOT be visiting this site ever again and will make sure my friends and family will never visit this site. My family was involved in a terrible ordeal that was escalated far beyond it needed to be, and I highly recommend the security of this facility be re-evaluated. Our family has been going through personal issues that should not even need to be explained to a store employee, but knowing that it was a genuine accident because of all the things on her mind she still explained why such a mistake happened. One big part of shoplifting law is that the person in question should have the intent to steal, and if that person had no intent to steal (mistake-of-fact), it seems strange that this would still be treated instantly as a shoplifting case. This family member accidentally had a $25 item in her bag while shopping, and proceeded to checkout her OVER $100 cart. When she was about to leave, she was stopped by security for the $25 item and was confronted for shoplifting. What has me in disbelief is that an older middle-aged woman (who is trying to look nice while she's helping her family) is considered a prime suspect for shoplifting. She immediately was willing to give back the item, pay for the item, anything to alleviate a genuine mistake-- but the staff said that she needed to be taken to the back and the police were already called. She explained how she was interrogated by police, and put in handcuffs-- and when we arrived she was in the back of a police car. [Would also like to note that the officers did not read Miranda rights until AFTER we were approached a second time in the parking lot and they needed an official statement.] When she was released, she also explained how she was not told if she would be going to jail or not, just that she was being held. I would understand if a large ticket item that was maybe closer to $1000 was in question, but our family member was patted down, put in cuffs, and put in the back of a police car for an item less than $50. The unprofessionalism of this store has completely scarred our family, and I will make sure to recommend shopping elsewhere because of this traumatizing ordeal. read more

I've been on hold for over 12 minutes the first time and over 14 minutes the second time and no one answered the phone either time. Nordstroms can always be a hit or miss honestly.. I went in looking for some running shoes and there really wasn't any that caught my attention or that were comfy. I did score some black Strappy Nordstrom Rack brand and they were very comfy and simple but would look great with a few items I have in my closet. They have some great stuff in the sale racks but you have to be patient while going thru them. They have a great selection of designer bags, sunglasses and love that they have a makeup section as well as perfumes and for good prices as well. One thing I'd change is having more registers open when the line gets a bit long, you find yourself waiting and waiting I feel over the weekend when you expect people they should have all hands on deck you know. Checking out was fast but still. I love that you can set up an email with them and they can send your receipt to you. I've been a frequent buyer at Norstrom Rack. The last few times there were clothes all over the floors. I visited (yesterday) once again (Nordstrom Rack), there were the usual clothes all over the floor, but, it was even more insane - it was like going to a dog park. What happened to Nordstrom Rack ? I walked in today to buy a present for my mom and honestly for a minute I thought I was at Ross... everything was piled up on top of each other. And looked exactly like Ross. ....mismatched items all around, every department. . Let's start from the Women's department. Every rack has lots of tops but one of each in one or two sizes. A mixture of ugly tops. Can't even find a single nice item. Brands I never heard of... the area for the jeans was pretty much the same. The shoes selection was the worse I ever seen. Could not even pick one pair, the only nice things they had were a few crocs and adidas slippers. That's about it. I have been to many Nordstrom Racks and this one is definitely one of the better ones. It is located at the Empire Center in Burbank. The inside of the store is clean and well stocked. The employees are constantly putting items back on the racks and tidying up. They have clothes and shoes for all sizes including Plus sizes. They have a large selection of styles from casual to upscale. If you are looking for a cocktail or a black tie event outfit then this location is worth checking out. I can spend hours looking through the racks. The employees are very helpful at this location and friendly. Easy returns and online pick ups are located at the front of the store to your right of the entrance. The main registers are at the front to your left. The shoe department is located at the back of the store and is rather large which is a good thing for us shoe lovers. Plenty of parking is available and you can visit other stores at the Empire Center as well as get something to eat. read more

Dang the luck, I forgot to pack socks in my suitcase. The beauty of being in a big city is there are many options out there to tackle most of your needs. We went with a trusted name, Nordstrom, you can't go wrong when you buy quality, you do get a better deal on things when you come to the rack. There is ample parking and we even bought in our dog " Hazel" this store is well marked and I headed for the men's section while my wife browsed the rest of the store. There was a pretty good selection of short shocks and I chose the Nike brand, super simple. I did also pick up a new pair of slip on walking shoes. When I found my wife she had found our dog " Hazel" a new brightly colored bed for the car, we made our way to the front to pay and with only 2 checkers working it took about 10 minutes to get check out. I used to LOVE shopping at NR, I would spend HOURS looking around, trying on things and buying so much! This was my first visit to this location. Someone else said it perfectly -How it reminded them of a Ross Dress For Less. First of all, they were lacking in Designer Sunglasses which was my main reason to come here. They had a bunch of cheap brands that I had never heard of. I looked all over and couldn't find any Dior, Prada, Versace ect.. Same with handbags, I only saw a few but they were under glass with no sales person to be seen. The others were things you could find in a Marshalls / TJ Maxx type store. The dresses (the other reason for coming here ) were crammed onto the racks so that I couldn't even look through them. What wasn't crammed was tossed all about. Nothing was in the correct sizes it said it should of been. This was so frustrating. The cosmetics section was a joke- it consisted of whatever overpriced "impulse" items they had in bins around the check outs. I did find a Jimmy Choo edt. but it was only the mini. I ended up only buying the perfume mini and some Calvin Klein underwear for my husband. I'm a fan of Nordstrom Rack and usually frequent this location. They have a decent selection of items, ample parking, and are next door to TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Their current policy of not being able to try on sports bras, lingerie, and swimsuits makes no sense to me. I can try on everything else but not those items? It's somewhat arbitrary as demonstrated by this anecdote: I bring in my items to try, including a tiny crop top with straps. The girl tells me I can't try on sports bras. I demonstrate that it's not a sports bra (even though it resembles one from a structural perspective). She apologizes. What's the difference if I try a tiny shirt on over my body or a sports bra? It's touching my breasts? Newsflash, I rarely wear a bra so that's happening regardless. Either way, since when are breasts hotbeds of Covid? If anything, your hands are the biggest offenders and those touch every piece of clothing. Although the risk of fabric transmission seems to be very low, if they want to sanitize clothes or let them sit for a period of time, that's fine. The arbitrary exceptions rule is just an inconvenience to customers that isn't grounded in anything but hygiene theater. I don't think this is based on CA regulation either as I haven't encountered it in other stores. Obviously the aforementioned is a company-wide policy and doesn't pertain to this particular store. As far as this store goes, I will say that it often has long lines which can be frustrating. Additionally, they cram the clearance racks with so many items that it's almost impossible to properly browse. read more

I used to love shopping at this location, but recently I was told they don't accept returns of designer items anymoreーand not just that, they said ALL Nordstrom Racks no longer accept them. And they denied my return. The associate told me I had to get in touch with customer service to get it shipped back for return. Thankfully I got my return approved after chatting with them online. But where in the world did this policy come from? There was no sign anywhere saying this, and exactly what constitutes as "designer"? Rack tends to consider non-designer items as designer as well. It's such a loose term and it's not labeled anywhere on items so I can't possibly know, especially when online it still says "Returnable". I stopped ordering or buying anything from Rack in fear of it being nonreturnable. Then I went to a different Nordstrom Rack one day and decided to ask an associate there if this policy existed. The associate made a face and said "no that policy doesn't exist, you can absolutely return designer items here", but to be sure, she double checked with a more senior colleague, who said the same thing. She said she had no idea why this other Nordstrom Rack would tell me such a thing. So I'm not sure what's going on with this store. It seems they've phased out anything designer in favor of curating a cheaper selection. What I don't appreciate is being lied to about a return policy. It's one thing to say they've decided to enact it for this store, but it's another to say it's chain wide. I don't shop at this location anymore since their stock no longer appeals to me, but this experience with the return policy kind of left a sour taste. read more

The employees are helpful and kind. This may be my new go to rack. I would drive out of my way just to come here because it has much more good, quality stuff than my closer rack stores. read more

I had an online order pick up, the purpose is get it and go and it was just that. Anyways why I rated it a 3 star because when I was standing in line you can hear the entrance sliding door squeaking throughout the whole entire store. It's unfortunate that this company thinks so little of its employees as well as its customers, but I've witnessed employees being told to put clothing that's just been tried on back on the rack. According to health regulations they're supposed to wait 48 hours before putting clothes back out. But they don't, and employees have caught COVID-19. I also have a dear friend who's niece got her first job there, 18 years old. And she contracted Covid because of this. This company was warned by the health department about this more then once, but they value money over health. At the Nordstrom Rack in Burbank there is one horrible employee with no customer service skills name Joe, a slim African American who made our shopping experience a night mare. He was Arrogant and very rude. All we did was asked not to throw are clothes in the bag like he was throwing clothes in the hamper. We revived nothing but bad , bad attitude from him and my wife folded and bag the clothes her self. Well, honestly Nordstrom is one of my favorite stores. I love their products, the dresses, perfumes and almost everything. That is how a few years ago I got dragged into Nordstrom Rack. I still liked their product, but it seems that over years the quality of the Rack is decreased. I do not know, maybe it is just me. But I liked their products perfumes , etc before. But this weekend I went for shopping and I could not find what I want in their store.
