    Yahtzee $7.99 (12/08/24). @TJMaxx #LaCanadaFlintridge #LCF #DiscountStore #Bargains #Toys #BoardGames

(Shopped 12/08/24 SU @ 11:00am): It was more like a TD as I maxed my buying power at this discount store! TJ Maxx's La Canada Flintridge location has been around for decades, and over the years I've sporadically stopped in for random purchases from gag gifts, last-minute presents, odds-and-ends, and even underwear! On this particular visit, I was in the market for some inexpensive Christmas gifts to be donated to Toys For Tots. If you weren't familiar with this brand, they were a national discount store chain that carried all major brands at various prices and ever-changing inventory. Honestly, you never knew what you'd find, but you (at least in my case) usually ended up walking away with something... which was why I never window-shopped here! Did I max-out the credit card as I trolled the aisles, or did I stay on target!? PURCHASE Yahtzee Board Game ($7.99): An OG favorite! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=gdhhXfb-PnyW2f7hC6m5Pg A Charlie Brown Christmas Family Bingo Game ($6.99): This was too perfect for the season, and everyone loved Charlie Brown! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=zgMKQocDrK_1V7Rmr5YH4A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Prime #D Puzzle 500pc ($7.99): Personally, I loved jigsaw puzzles, so this was a must! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=CsDZ-YJxik70ANYSM4RKTg Maruchan Ramen Bowl Set ($9.99): This was a total impulse buy for me, and I couldn't pass it up! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=xH9Jx4zwM3XFsB2okXUddg Christmas Gift Bag ($0.99): I needed something to hold all of these presents! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=VHW8pwiCcdk3ZdaXnlA2uQ SERVICE Of all the times I've shopped here, not once had I ever needed any assistance with the exception of the cashier at the very end (the friendly young woman who helped in this instance was great!). Because the inventory changed daily, I enjoyed exploring the aisles at my leisure. There would be a handful of staffers who constantly cleaned and organized the inventory to the best of their ability, but customers were freaking animals and messy! Otherwise, all was good with me - thank you! PARKING (FREE) Located within the Plaza De La Cañada (Outdoor) Shopping Center, it shared a sizable but tight lot with several other businesses such as Gelson's, Rite Aid Pharmacy, and more - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A two-level department store filled floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall with display tables on the floor and disheveled stocked shelves down each aisle, there was a sort of sensory overload of merchandise https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=gHUSebacBZCXjzFOKsFWpw and products spilling out everywhere. A decent amount of natural lighting came in through the many large front glass windows of the Ralphs while a mix of soul-sucking fluorescent and other electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL La Canada Flintridge's TJ Maxx location satisfied my needs of games and toys https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=GiWD-ZG3xyrgNZhsyPV6Eg on this occasion and would always be an option when I needed something last-minute at a great price. Apparently, the community felt the same way because the store was always packed whenever I shopped there. As long as you had no airs about it and understood what you were getting yourself into, you were fine. Just have some patience and understanding. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $37.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Really fun to browse through the second floor: home/kitchen goods and decor, seasonal items, fun snacks, pet items etc. I didn't check out the first floor but it looked like mostly clothing from what I could see. Associate at the second floor cashier station was friendly. Half carts available to make shopping easier. Parking lot in back leads to second floor, with option for stairs or elevator.

    Fake gucci

Unfortunately TJmaxx sells fake Guccis. I purchased a purse from this location and had it authenticated. I was told it was fake. I had been suspicious because it was a style I loved from years ago that looked brand spanking new. I think they sell a lot of fakes here and any differences in color they pass off by calling it "past season".

It's a hit or miss at these stores but I never seem to find anything I want to buy. I browsed through the aisles looking for any deals on any merchandise that caught my eye. Unfortunately on this shopping trip I left empty handed. The employees are nice and greeted me when entering plus when I departed the store.

    The deal of the year!!

The worst customer service. Line is always long Guard at the door. Great inventory but don't be in a hurry.

It's a nice shopping center anchored by Target, Sakura, HomeGoods, Blaze Pizza, and Panera... just to name a few. I have yet to check out the other businesses within this center. From the outside main streets, it doesn't look like a very big center. Once you drive in it, there's quite a bit for shopping and dining. Cute outside seating in various sections. Abundant parking available. One day, I would like to come here and just walk around to get a better exploration of this place. I may just dine at Sakura for lunch or dinner, shop at Target, and get ice cream dessert at Bruster's. That sounds like a plan! I'll capture some photos next time. Thanks for your patience.

We don't always come this far into town, but when we have, the Town Center architecture and list of shops and restaurants has provided a siren call. We finally answered it a few weeks ago, stopping at Panera Bread. We ended up driving around much of the complex, since we didn't know exactly where Panera was located. That revealed lots of free parking options, and a uniquely shaped center. Will definitely have to come back and explore more when we have more time. I'm always up for a walk-through at HomeGoods, so there's another draw, right off the bat! Luna Grill sounds interesting and worth checking out. Blaze Pizza sits next to Panera Bread, offering another fast casual dining option. The eclectic style architecture mixes a dash of Mediterranean with Craftsman, which takes a bit of doing to pull off, but they've seem to have made it work. It's a mash-up, yeah, that's it! Nice to experience a home town shopping / dining plaza with some innovation and stylish character.

First HomeGoods visit and I definitely have mixed feelings…read more. This was my first time ever visiting a HomeGoods (and this specific location), so I'll admit my expectations were a little high. Especially after seeing all the fun/cool finds people post on social media. I was really excited to finally check it out! The location itself is in a nice area, but the store left a lot to be desired. It felt very cramped and crowded at certain points, which I think has a lot to do with the layout. The aisles were super narrow and it was hard to move around without constantly dodging other shoppers. A lot of the store felt pretty random and unorganized, and as someone who didn't really know what to expect on their first visit, it was a bit overwhelming. There were carts of merchandise all over the place and a lot of active stocking happening, which added to the overstimulating vibe for me. I still tried my best to browse as much as possible before I got tired. That said, it wasn't all bad. I did manage to find some cute home decor and Valentine's Day items, which made the trip feel somewhat worth it. I also spotted two of the viral food stools I've seen online, but unfortunately they were under some random open boxes that someone had left behind and obviously gone through, so I didn't get a great look. Overall, I'm glad I finally got to see what the HomeGoods hype is about, but this location felt like a messier, more chaotic version of Ross or Marshalls in my opinion. I'm not totally turned off. I'd definitely be open to trying a different HomeGoods location in the future.
