Drive here from SFV because I wanted to explore another store location. Well, it wasn't the best visit, but since I took my time looking at items, I did find a few to take home. I initially came to visit the jewelry department but no one was there. I kept waiting and came back around and still, no employee attending the jewelry department. They didn't have much selection anyways, so I took it as a sign. The clothes were a bit messy, not much to pick from either. Ridiculous they have people here who don't speak English, and answer phones. I called to inquire about something and the woman on the other line spoke to me in a different language and hung up on me instead of handing it off to a colleague who could speak English. Very rude, unprofessional and ridiculous behavior. This branch needs to reevaluate their hiring process. read more

This TJ Maxx location has a lot of name brands with outstanding prices. Everyone is helpful and greets you with kindness. This store has a good selection of clothing, housewares, kids' clothes, etc. You can always find something here. Easy parking. read more

Worst customer service. Specifically Armine in the handbag section. She is very rude and her attitude is awful. Anytime I've been at the store and have any questions for her she acts like you are bothering her. She actually has a mean attitude and is beyond rude. Huge line, they have five registers lit and two checkers. One family has been at one register for about 15 minutes... lots of employees behind the counter talking and laughing and then they walk away. Zero customer service throughout the store. This used to be a nice place, most employees barely speak English. finally, a customer asked them to staff their registers, and the manager looked quite displeased at the request. Standing here watching the employees work the registers it would appear that they are either brand new or just don't understand how the they work? read more

Today I had a bad experience when I tried to return a purchase that I had made at another Tjmaxx store, the cashier who was saying was the manager store was not in a good mood with a bad attitude told me to do my return at the same store that I did my purchase. Been literally standing in line for 20 mins, the manager is fixing carts in front of me and sees all these customers in line while only two cashiers are working the registers. Unfortunately TJmaxx sells fake Guccis. I purchased a purse from this location and had it authenticated. I was told it was fake. I had been suspicious because it was a style I loved from years ago that looked brand spanking new. Martha has by far the worst retail customer service ever. She mishandles merchandise and unnecessarily gets defensive about it. Complained about every barcode her register didn't scan, not our problem. She didn't even want to bag our stuff, she lazily just left a bag on the counter, she had to be told multiple times to bag our purchase utility she finally did. It's an extremely annoying customer experience when you have to remind the cashier to do her job correctly. She took forever going out of her way to create new barcodes for all our items. Martha is clueless on basic customer service and her manager (Emilia I think is her name) is clearly covering for her, as I'm sure this isn't the first time Martha has provided horrible customer service and Emilia just stands by watching it unravel. I don't understand why the manager doesn't have more salesperson in jewelry department on Fridays and weekends. They only have one salesperson in jewelry department with lots of customers waiting for their turn. It's horrible, they need to put number dispenser so the salesperson doesn't say who is next. This is my second time here and the second time that the employees have been extremely rude. Visit one: At checkout two older women YELLED at the two young cashiers who were discussing closing duties briefly before calling me to the register. It wasn't inappropriate or rude on their part. The only part that was extremely rude and inappropriate was their manager yelling at them in front of customers or at all for that matter. Visit two: I was buying a dog sweater that didn't have a tag so I brought another size that did have the tag so that she could scan that instead. The woman running me up, Seda, started raising her voice at me that they are not the same price because of the size difference (untrue) and then got mad and walked away because she had to go upstairs and check herself. She comes down with a completely different dog item (a rain puffer jacket) and told me the price was $14.99 even though the sweater I was buying was $12.99. I told her that's not true because I bought my other dog the matching sweater in the same size, same brand and it was $12.99. Not to mention there is a sign that all Christmas is 50%. She started arguing with me in a raised voice and when I stayed firm and said I would go check myself she just said "fine I'll give you 50% off of $14.99, not $12.99". Since it was humiliating to be yelled at in a crowded line I just accepted since $6.99 and $7.99 isn't much of a difference. I would say management needs to do better, but they are part of the issue! I came here on a Wednesday at 2pm. Got 1 item it was a white throw, took 25 min in line to finally get to the register after that, I politely asked the mail at the register not to rub the white, throw all over the counter top that was dirty, and had some thing spilled on it. He then proceeded to do the opposite of what I asked and rub the throw all over the countertop, looking for the barcode. The last white throw they had I now have to take home wash and then repackage because he couldn't follow simple directions. Incredibly unsure below. 25 to 30 minutes to check it out when there's two sets of registers in the store and only 3 are being used throughout the entire store. You're better off going to the Glendale, TJ Maxx, the extra 15 minute drive could save you a load of laundry, and some re-packaging. I used to love TJ Maxx and this store in particular because it has great stuff, it's starting to get really organized, and the people are usually really personable. However, recently I witnessed something so heartbreaking that I might never go back. A sweet associate, L, was helping me by calling another store to do a stock check on a "Runway" dress. After a few minutes, another associate, Karmen M (who I read has been called out for a bad attitude several times here!), berated her, told her not to wait any longer, then ***physically moved her out of the way and hung up the phone*** While it wasn't a slap or punch, the level of physical violence was simply not ok. Karmen first avoided me (knowing what I'd seen; telling L to "take care of it" meaning me) then finally came over herself and rudely told me that the store didn't have the time to make the call for me; they were too busy. (There was never any more than one person waiting in line) After I verified what I had seen from L, I spoke with her and the manager on duty, Anna, who said she would talk with Karmen. L then thanked me for standing up for her *in front of Anna.* L KNEW that this was a problem and that Karmen had acted horribly. NO ONE should have ANY level of negative verbal abuse or physical touch for ANY reason anywhere, and especially at work. A slap on the wrist or perhaps being "written up" isn't enough for what Karmen did to L. I wrote in to the regional manager and hope they review the tapes and hopefully L will be bold enough (she is sweet and shy) to tell the truth. I typically don't make statements like this, but Karmen needs to be terminated. What she did to both L and me was inexcusable. read more

Came in just now for an online return and had the worst experience.. ruined my day. Seda was the reason why. I came to the counter and the person helping me was having conversations left and right while "trying" to help me. I told her the bracelet I received came broken and she says, "I have to ask the manager, you might have to return it by mail" and I'm like ok.. She then asks why I took so long to bring it in. Its been 10 days and I work so I can't just drop work and go in to tj maxx woman. Why does it matter to you? She was hinting that I had worn and broken it so I brought it back- that was obvious. Then she processes it and I ask her to adjust the tax bc I live in a city that charges more tax- she then tells me that city has a tj maxx- why I'm here and not there.... uhh... why can't I be at your store?? I came and got questioned like I had committed a crime. Made me feel disgusted and uncomfortable Her name was Seda and she should not work customer facing roles. Probably the nicest TJ Maxx I've been to- very neat, high-end goods, and two stories! They have a vast selection of cosmetics and bath & body goods, including Becca highlighters, organic face serums, Korean beauty masks, and tons more. Their handbag selection was mostly Jessica Simpson, Michael Kors, etc. I didn't go upstairs this time but looking forward to seeing what they have up there next time! The workers were all kind and greeted everyone at the door, Covid protocols in place (but no line to enter and it wasn't very busy!). Worth a visit if you're in this cute and upscale area. read more

11/23/2016 If I don't have time to drive to the Glendale Galleria or Americana, I like to come here for last minute gifts. They sell designer items at a discount which is always nice. They also have a fairly good selection of seasonal items. They have a checkout counter upstairs as well as downstairs. Plenty of dressing rooms which are fairly neat. Plenty of free parking either in front of the store or in the back. If you have Shopkick, don't forget to get your points! read more

I love browsing through TJ Maxx, especially the kitchen section. The La Cañada location has been my favorite so far. It is not perfect in terms of organization, but it's not the worst. If you look hard enough you can find brand-name items at great prices. They had a deodarant I usually buy from Whole Foods for $7+ available for only $3.99! There were many employees throughout the store which is great if you needed some help. read more

I love love this store all the employees are the best especially the managers. I did want to give a shout to Jenny she's so kind and pleasant. Jenny always says hi and ask if I'm okay. Located in the same plaza as Gelson's with a large parking lot. This particular location is a Runway location (meaning they sell designer named items) and is 2 stories. Yellow tag and red tag items (deep clearance) going on now throughout the entire store. I came by this TJ Maxx location with my husband yesterday evening to return some items I had purchased at the location in Pasadena. I got in line to return 2 pairs of shoes. When it was my turn, the employee at the register slammed the two pairs of shoes onto the counter and kept calling the manager over saying 'I can't do this return' and 'I can't take these back'. She looked over the shoes carefully (which were never worn, with the bottom of the soles clean and clearly were unworn). Then she just did my return without the manager needing to come over to approve the transaction or help her with it. This made me feel uncomfortable and a little upset with the rude service. But after that, I just browsed the store. The designer section (or runway section), located on the 1st floor, is smaller than the one in Pasadena. I wasn't too impressed with the selection in the clothing, handbags and shoes. The jewelry case didn't have anything that I was interested in. After a quick browse here, I used the women's restroom (located on the 2nd floor). I was quite grossed out to see that they ran out of soap in both of the soap dispensers (bring your own hand sanitizer). This visit was pretty disappointing and am sorry that my husband wasted gas driving out here for me because I just wanted to check out this location since it is a runway store. Definitely not worth the drive or a 2nd visit. If you want to visit a runway location, check out Pasadena or the location at the Beverly Center. read more

TJ Maxx.....how I love you. Let me count the ways. Awesome purses, better brands of clothes, amazing shoe selection. I have purchased some fierce silver Enzo stiletto sandals here, a Michael Kors bag, and a Willi Smith cardigan. Also, great selection of good organic hair care products. BUT, the store is small in comparison to most. So there's that. Get all my Christmas gift here, school clothes for my kids, all household items, special occasion, all our family's shoes... pretty much EVERYTHING. ---Never Again. Here's why: I was checking out this morning, with many items, as usual--beauty, shampoo, clothes-- Johnny Was, Hudson jean some sweaters, tees, and some goodies I picked up in the checkout line. Two of the items my cashier rung up (not even the most expensive ones) flagged something, so she called someone to check. The manager came up, all gruff, looking me up & down (!!?) like I was attempting to steal merchandise. Yeah I'm a physician with a strong moral compass, I have zero interest in stealing. She gives me the death stare & starts peeling a sticker off a price tag & chucks 2 of my items behind her (!!!) & yells at me "YOU MUST RETURN ALL YOUR ITEMS!!" I have heavy bottles of shampoo, many cosmetics, maybe 25 items in all, most small. Thank goodness the meek sweet cashier steps in to say, "no, all her items are fine, only this one didn't code..." I'm like "just ring it up for whatever price you want, or go grab another, or I can grab one..." and the manager from the fiery nether-region shoots daggers from her eyes & says "YOU WILL NOT MOVE!" At this point I'm like this has been a f'n mistake I have not swapped price tags or whatever you think is going on. I love Johnny Was, and scooped these items out of the Clearance Section, check the cameras! I do not appreciate being treated like a shoplifter, God! The management here is TRIPPING. The best TJ Maxx that I've been too. This store carries everything from Gucci to running shoes. With the designer items though you have to snag them while you can or else they will 99% not be there the next time. This has happened to me a couple times. I see nice items like a YSL wallet and tell myself I'll think about well while I think about it and come in a day later it typically is gone. Don't let the deals slip you up. This location is 2 stories with parking in the front and back of the store. This store shares parking though with the other businesses in the same shopping facility.
