Our experience was ok. They didn't have a few things on their menu and the staff took their masks off when they went into the kitchen. The people making the food weren't wearing them at all and I saw one man taking bites as he worked on preparing food. It didn't give me a good feeling about the cleanliness or safety of the restaurant. The service was kind of slow. The food tasted alright and the atmosphere was nice. It was decorated very festively for the holidays. read more

The best thing I can say about this place was the view and the friendly staff. You are definitely paying for the location, which is what we expected. My husband, 20 month, and I knew we would be paying little more going here than we would normally spend. But being locals we had never been there and thought since it wasn't crowded we would try it out. We went for breakfast and spent about $50 for the two of us. I wouldn't say the breakfast was worth $50, but it wasn't bad. The space is small so you sit rather close to other tables, which we didn't mind. What we minded was the table of college girls next to us talking very loud, dropping F bombs. I know that's not the restaurant's fault, but wanted to mention you do sit close to other tables so there is a chance of hearing other people's conversations if they are on the louder side. The thing I did have a problem with was the lack of attention by our waitress. We are not needy customers, but do expect a minimal standard of service. We were served promptly, but when my husband was asked if he would like his coffee topped off, the waitress never returned to refill his cup. After we finished our meal, we sat for about 20 minutes waiting for our check. That is a lot of time to fill when you have a 1 year old that is ready to get out of her high chair. We also asked for a box to go, which we never got. I ended up finding one and getting it myself. I guess I just had higher expectations for the price we paid. read more

This restaurant is one big chaos. Its small inside u cant even turn or u gonna hit if u open door or get hit :)) like i did that drop a star right away ( joke ) Waiting time around 20-30 min for table. Employees running around lost .. We finally get table and ordered food. Oh lord that was longest time ever :) time was clicking for parking ticket and food still nowhere :) I thought they are cooking every food with love how long it take but when i get i got it :) .. no love :) but nice cold plate :) what i want right at 11am in winter time outside. It was our 2nd experience with this place and it was last one. read more

I like the vibe, the service, the drinks, and husbands sandwich (The Club) was good. I got the Reuben- taste was good, but the corned beef was like trying to eat jerky, I'm not kidding. Ya need teeth to tear it. Both sandwiches were big. Fried pickles were good but over done, sadly. My margarita was good. No draft beer, which disappointed hubby. Really cool little place though & I'm sure their other food has positives:) read more

My mom had hyped this place up for me so I went in having super high expectations. Basically I'd give it 3.5 stars overall. The service was good, our waitress checked in on us regularly and gave good advice on picking food. It all came out relatively quickly and the presentation was great. My mom's omelet came out with a side of arugula dressed in balsamic. And her Bloody Mary with some interesting attachments. Wouldn't recommend asking for it spicy, she says it ruined the drink because it was too overpowering. I ordered the Peach Cobbler French Toast. I am normally am not a French toast fan, but this was fantastic. It is very sweet though. I paired it with a pineapple juice mimosa - which was also quite refreshing. The prices are reasonable for the portions served. Atmosphere was kind of lacking. With the sun shining through the window, it made it quite hot despite the AC. It was a bit old and ragged inside. But again I went in with much higher expectations of a posh brunch spot. read more

First of all, parking is free on Sunday's. Don't make the same mistake I did. As much as I want to say this place was over-the-top awesome, all I can say is...eh. It started out on the wrong foot as our server has no clue we were seated in her section. Did I mention she walked past us 4 times before being told we were her table? Once we were acknowledged and had our order taken, the server never came back by to offer a refill on coffee, water, nothing. The food was, eh. The omelette was just okay. The portion did not come close to matching the price. And everything had to be ordered a la carte. I understand they are located in historic downtown. But that is no reason to fall into the tourist spot trap. Unless I am staying at the hotel adjacent to the restaurant, most likely will be trying another place. read more

It was a cold day. We had to sit outside because two doggies. Thank goodness for outside seating, but wish they could've turn on the outside heating pole lamp on for us. They had about 4 heaters out there. My Bloody Mary was good. No complaints on that. Their mix chocolate/coffee alcohol drink was tasty. I ordered a salmon Hemingway. Presentation could be better. We sat on the front porch and had breakfast. The view is really spectacular and there's a good mix of shaded and sunny spots on the porch. Breakfast was really good--my husband really liked the corned beef hash, and he's picky about that. I had a lovely cranberry mimosa. Friendly service and strong coffee. A really nice spot! read more

Walking by with some friends and we HAD to stop for a drink. They have a great Martini selection, all types of vodkas and combinations but I'm a Margarita person, therefore ordered my margarita... I enjoyed it SO much, same day tried other places and other margaritas and they didn't compare to the one here. Great place, great bar read more

My husband I had brunch here on a Sunday morning. It didn't look exceptionally busy and we saw a couple of empty tables so we figured it couldn't be too busy. So we found the hostess and put our name down for a table and we were told it would be about a 10 minute wait. We were seated in about that time. However, it took quite awhile before a server actually came to our table. Finally another host came and took our drink orders. Right after, a server came over and told us he'd be taking care of us. A few minutes later, a different server came to our table and ended up being our server for the remainder of our time. Just very disorganized. Once we got our first round of mimosas, we didn't have to wait long for the rest of our drinks. The food also was served in a timely manner. Getting the check took awhile though. The mimosas were fine. You can't really mess up champagne and OJ. I ordered an omelette. It was fine but nothing to write home about. My husband had the brunch wrap which was good. Overall the food was ok, not memorable. The service was decent once we finally got a server. The best thing was the view. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the view of the fort and the water. However, If I am ever in St. Augustine again, I'd probably try somewhere different next time. read more

Joe our waiter was AMAZINGGGGG was super sweet and caring. Food was SUPER GOOD!!! Recommend the fried mushroom appetizer. Overall 5

What a Great Monday Afternoon. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The drinks were great and the food was really good. Menu is small but the few things they do, they do right. We had the Reuben , Club, and blackened chick wrap. Of the 3, the Reuben was AMAZING ! And of course ...... the view on the front porch is the best in Ole town St. Augustine! read more

Excellent breakfast! The indoor atmosphere is cozy and sweet. The servers were all pleasant, especially Tricia. They offered some yummy vegetarian options, we got the italianish omelette, cheesy grits, and caprese Benedict, which were all awesome. The Benedict eggs were perfect. The omelette was quite large. Some reviews said the omelettes were too small, so I took a picture with fork for scale to show this is definitely untrue. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. read more

We have a pet, that is why we chose Nero's. When we went there at 9:30am in the morning, we were the first in the line, and they said there is 25 minutes wait time. After 25 minutes, they said there will be another 20 minutes waiting time because they need to serve the hotel customers first. Many sitting customers were alao complaining for wait times. We left Nero's. They should have told at the beginning that their first priority is hotel customers, and there.may be longer waiting times. read more

This cafe deserves 4 stars for their service & view. The food was very underwhelming & disappointing. My husband & I ordered the fried shrimp which was $16 that we would share. On the menu it says it came with 9 shrimp, but we actually only received 8. I wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for my husband paying attention. I'm not that type of person at all to make a big deal, but I had to say something given what this cafe tries to show for. Our lovely waiter brought us 3 extra shrimp to compensate, however we had to ask for cocktail & tartar (which they were out of tartar) & the cocktail sauce was not enough for us both to share. We weren't given any silverware or napkins either till the end of our meal. Nonetheless, no matter what we asked of our waiter he attended to us in a timely manner & ever so kindly. Fortunately, you don't need to order food to sit at the outside area! & yes that's all the fries we received minus 1 or 2! read more

We ate here for breakfast. The atmosphere and view is very nice, that's the reason this review is not a one-star. The food was not good. My omelet was lazy. Sandwich meat and large chunks of onion, shredded cheese on top not even melted, ingredients hastily thrown together. The flavor and consistency of the omelet was bad. And, really, how do you mess up an omelet? And then my wife's biscuits and gravy with fried eggs...the gravy was tasty, but the biscuits were hard and the eggs were cooked exactly the opposite of how she ordered. read more

First off, brunch is my favorite meal to eat. By far the worst brunch food and experience I ever had. I ordered the eggs benny and the hollandaise came out soupy which made my un-toasted english muffin super soggy. Besides not being satisfied with my meal, they have a bus tub right next to our table. I basically could of just thrown my own plate in there instead of the server. Overall a very disappointing experience! read more

Portion sizes are huge so bring your appetite! Plenty of flavor and a great atmosphere.

2 words- Corned beef hash. It was stellar. Nero's is also quite safe and clean. I felt at easy during our diving experience. The hospitality was as great as the food! Definitely worth the small wait to get brunch. Will be back. read more

The ambience is great with good people watching from the patio. The food is occasionally mislabeled (example, the hash is actually just corned beef; so ask for a steak knife). It takes a little longer to get service. Expect 30 minutes to get water. A hour for your food to come out, and it may come out cool. And your appetizers may come out at the end, instead of the beginning. But knowing that in advance makes the experience kind of fun. read more

Had a Sam Adams Boston Lager on a hot afternoon. It was cold and served with a glass. My partner ordered ice tea. It was served in an 8 oz. plastic cup with a small anemic lemon slice. The few ice cubes disappeared in about two minutes. As we turned our eyes from the expansive water view we began to notice how dirty and neglected the porch we were eating on was. Right next to our table the column base was filthy with leaves and dirt. The bottom of the door across from us was splattered with dirt. The raised gas heaters at either end had a thick layer of dirt on the shelf and the floor below. The silverware had water spots. The side house salad was not large but the greens were crisp. The dressing they brought was ranch BUT we had ordered vinagarette. Tuna salad was a rather off color with an onion overtone. Pita with it was thick and flavorless. Just go for the drinks and the view. read more

Brunch was a pretty decent breakfast experience. The server we had was very nice and understanding. I really enjoyed the option of outside seating. Even though it was a bit chilly when we went, the outside heaters really made it perfect. There was an amazing view of the water and the fort. I ordered the peach cobbler French toast which was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Hotel breakfast which was okay. Although, the preserves for the toast were absolutely amazing. We also ordered a side of the cheese grits but did not end up liking those at all. Most likely just my preference for grits but the server did end up taking it off the bill. Overall, the food was pretty okay for the price and the view amazing. read more

It's prime lunch hour, and they didn't have Mac n cheese available as a side. The waitress didn't write our order down and forgot about a drink and exclusions we requested from our meal. I hoped to give a better rating. The front patio seating has a beautiful water view. We arrived about 1:00 and were seated promptly. Food came out without any real delay. My omelet was ok and the little salad with it was fine. My gf sent back her first eggs Benedict because the eggs were cold. The second arrived and that was corrected but the hollandaise sauce was not right. It looked like raw egg yolk. Apparently it was not thickened. It also had far too many capers on top. She ate the eggs and smoked salmon but left the sauce and English muffins that were soaked in the sauce. I was concerned about food safety when i realized the problem with the sauce. Took a picture when she finished, and no its not the egg yolk from her eggs. Didn't think of a photo sooner. The service was excellent however. I have also worked in a fine dining restaurant and know what hollandaise should look like. read more

Went there for breakfast because of their beautiful view of the water. Had a cheese omelette with the side of arugula. No dressing or anything... was it just a garnish? First impression given the long wait to get in was that this would be a restaurant to remember. I was right.. but not for the right reasons. Our table for 4 was next to multiple ice machines from which the bar back was constantly filling buckets. Saw things not one customer should see while dining (broom & dustpan, ladder, waiters smoking) Only 3 tables in whole restaurant, rest is outdoor seating. Definitely suggest outdoor to avoid a bad experience. Why? Because the food is and will remain the only thing keeping this business operating. Message to owner: keep your chefs. Food was hot, tasty and complete. read more

Absolutely amazing!!! I don't understand how this doesn't have a higher rating on Yelp. Our waiter was so nice and so great! The food was incredible. We had the French toast, Dubliner eggs Benedict, hash and eggs, the hotel standard and we all cleared our plates. We also had the coffee, Bloody Mary's and a mimosa and they were delicious!!! Very strong recommendation for BRUNCH and our amazing server Alexis! Menu offers all the favorites (some with a flair) and were cooked impeccably - oh, and the Bloody Mary is a must! The view of the bay is fantastic if you have a smaller party - sit on the air conditioned porch. Only two downsides are some of the tables looked uncomfortable and larger parties sit in the back with no view and the Blonde Hostess always seems annoyed - like seriously miserable person We'll be back every time we're in town though as the service, view, food and price is amazing! read more

Experience started off terrible from the start. Waited before a hostess every came to the front before we were seated. Took forever to get menus because our hostess didn't give them to us. Once our order was taken it took nearly 45 mins to get our food. Once the food came out there were multiple mistakes. Cheese forgotten to be added to my omelette, cheese on my wife's breakfast bowl was cold an unmelted and she had a hair in her biscuit! They forgot a few additional items we ordered. After asking for a manger and making him aware of the issues and said he would take care of it. New food came out and our missing sides appeared but the overall service remained terrible. Our check was taken care of but really disappointed in the quality of service. The food was good but I would just stay away from this place. A lot of better options out there! read more
