As the already low rating for this restaurant would imply, there is a great deal of room for improvement. First off, and most importantly, the service is a big problem. Right from the start it felt like we were an unwanted intrusion on the server's morning. Only as she was dropping off the bill did she show any sign of interest. She walked away before I could finish ordering and never once asked if I want a refill on the coffee, though the cup sat empty for the entire meal. The food was also a tremendous disappointment. They were out of both of my first two choices, which you only learn from this very helpful waitress after you spend time trying to pick the second choice. The omelette I did get was a thin, rubbery, and tasteless waste of eggs with eggshell pieces throughout. There are a lot of great places to eat in this wonderful town, and while the view is nice, little else is at this establishment. I'd give it a pass if I was you. read more

We came here on a Sunday, so we expected it to be busy. What we did not expect was disorganization and a whole lot of chaos. There was no host desk, so we had to randomly ask someone where we check in for a table. She walked away to search for one, since they do not have any floor map indicating available tables. Since there was a large group in front of us, she let us know that she wasn't sure what the wait time would be, "maybe 15 to 20 minutes?" I believe we waited around 30 until we followed up with her regarding our table where she did end up clearing off a 2-seat table and adding 2 extra seats for our table of 4. It was tight, but it being almost 12:30pm without having eaten that morning, we accepted and sat down. I ordered a lemonade which came in a tiny glass with no ice. We ordered as soon as our waiter came and it made us nervous that even though we had 4 orders, one of which was a build-your-own omelet, he did not write any of our orders down. Then we waited for 45 minutes for our food, with an apology from the waiter saying the kitchen was busy. Finally, we receive our food and we start digging in. After a couple bites (I was so hungry) I realize that I did not, in fact, order pancakes, but french toast. Not only that, but the presentation of said pancakes were extremely lacking. I believe the menu mentioned something along the lines of "whipped butter" and I got frozen butter packets on the side. They also were the worst pancakes I have ever tasted. Seriously, I do not know how you can go wrong with pancakes or if it was a bad batch but they tasted horrible. I let our waiter know how I actually ordered french toast, in which he did offer to fix it for me, but with it being so late and me being so hungry, I ate the bad pancakes. The reasons I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is that the rest of my party did not have issues with their meals and the waiter did take the pancakes off our bill. Since they are new, I recommend they try and organize themselves a little better and make better pancakes (seriously, no one at my table would touch them!). read more

We ate here mainly because of the credit we got with our room. The food is okay. We ate on Saturday morning and I had the salmon Benedict and my fiancé got the the green thumb burger. He liked the green thumb burger with fries. My salmon Benedict was okay, but it was a smaller portion and didn't look appetizing (posting pictures on yelp as well so look for those). On Saturday we were served by the female bartender. She was not very friendly and service was slow. We were staying at the attached bed and breakfast and the bed and breakfast gives guests coffee and tea for free. Like bartender gave me coffee and charged me $3! I also didn't drink the coffee because the rim of the cup had lipstick on it, though I was not wearing lipstick myself-ew. We used our credit again on Sunday. Brunch was better- coffee was free (probably since we have a better server), and we ordered the Stuffed French toast and beignets and my fiancé ordered the dirty Frenchmen. Terrible service. The waiter claimed to be a chef for 20 years but he was a terrible waiter. The waiter took 45 minutes just to take our order. Then it took another 30 minutes for our food to come out and some of my food was missing. I started to eat and there was A PIECE OF PLASTIC inside of my salad. It took 10 minutes to find the waiter to let him know and at that point, my fries came out. So 20 minutes after my salad arrived, my fries finally did. I didn't eat them because I couldn't eat after chewing on plastic. Beautiful location, good service and cool looking place. The food was on the "poor" side. Pancakes felt like the boxed kind. Half the poached eggs were overcooked and hard... juices weren't natural. We stopped at Nero's for brunch and we're thrilled that they had a table available. We had French toast and a breakfast bowl, which were great, and corned beef hash, which is homemade and a " must have". I have food allergies, which I forgot to tell the server about, and realized the potatoes in the hash were deep fried, which means I couldn't eat them (which I'm used to). Without my even asking, our server, Kevin, brought out some corned beef, without the potatoes. This was such a such gesture and very unexpected. After waiting for an hour, with no updates or explanations on why we waited 45 minutes extra, we were seated. It then took another 5 minutes before we were approached by our server. The hostess was rarely at the hostess stand to greet guests or take names. They seemed severely understaffed, or too unorganized to handle a Sunday brunch crowd, which is ironic as the name of the restaurant would suggest otherwise. Some friends and I were visiting St Augustine and decided to try this place out. When we showed up no one tried to seat us and when we finally asked to be seated the waitress did not seem interested at all in our service. Initially walking up was a little confusing to know where to check in but after a little wondering we came across a waitress that sat us outside with a great bay view. Interesting menu and my wife and I decided to share an old stand by, eggs benidict. The holindanday was above average, egg was poached perfect and they used a high quality ham (my preference over Canadian bacon). My only issue was the muffin. While it was at the same high quality as all the other ingredients it wasn't toasted but seemed to just be warmed. What made us come here was the full service bar. Ordered mimosas and a bloody mary. The food prices were average but kind of shocked we were charged $11 for the bloody mary and $6 for the mimosa. On top of that, something was wrong with the iced tea that literally made several members of our group physically ill. Service was slow and several orders were screwed up. We asked for a manager and the head server came to see us and assure us the "food is being plated right now". Then the food was horrible. My omelet was soggy. The bacon was miniature. And the "fresh greens" was some dry spinach with balsamic vinaigrette that was too sweet. We told the head server we didn't want the comp. Arrived in a relatively slow time and the tables were unbussed... had to wait 5 minutes for a table for two to get cleaned... then the wait started again. Another 20 minutes just to take our drink order and our menu order. The kitchen must have been in disarray because I received my cheeseburger almost 5 minutes before my wife received her omelette. Steak fries were cold and the cheeseburger was not that great. When we completed our meal which was lousy, we had to hunt down the server just to get a check. I was there for a wedding brunch and it was not a pleasant visit. The food was mediocre, I don't think the server had ever taken a large party before, it took quite a while to get our food (which is understandable with such a large party) and they forgot my boyfriend's meal. Each time I mentioned it to the server he would say "yeah, it's coming." But then brought us our check after not seeing us for 10 minutes and when I brought up the missing meal he responds "oh, you didn't get that?" We waited another 5 minutes (now 30 minutes past everyone else having finished their meals) and then I asked if the meal could just be taken off our check so we could just pay out and leave to get to the airport in time. He then cam back a few minutes later with the missing food, set it in front of us and said they would discount it. The discount was 50% the entree but did not discount the two sides that came out with it. I didn't argue because we really had to pay and get on the road. It was a bad experience the moment we walked in the door with the disappointing hostess who rudely rolled her eyes when telling us "I don't know what they are doing" when I asked if my party had been seated and if there was an event room. She only pointed to the bar in the other room in order to show me where our party was. Having worked in the food service industry as a hostess, waitress and even manager, I was very disappointed in our experience today. They have a great location that has the potential to house a fantastic restaurant space. They just need to take more time to properly train their employees and then weed out the bad ones. Overall I was disappointed. The highlight was the Hemingway Benedict. Perhaps this location is better suited to breakfast items. The tomato bisque was horrible, flat in flavor and lumpy in the wrong way, it felt like a soup that was old and reheated several times over the past few days. The shrimp and grits were ok. I love southern cuisine and have a broad acceptance of a chefs translation of this dish. The grits themselves were hearty and cheesy but the shrimp was way over cooked and rubbery. For being a bed and breakfast this place lacked in service too. I never received the cocktail I ordered and just found the service to be less then attentive. We had read the reviews of Brunch, and they were not good overall. Because of the beautiful setting of the place, we decided to give it a shot anyway. We were able to get a seat with shade on the porch, and the view of the waterfront was quite beautiful and relaxing. Our overall experience at Brunch was very positive, but I will tell you...if you're looking for quick service, it is NOT going to happen here. Think "Italy". If you have time to relax and enjoy the scenery, then this is the place for you. Our server was great and friendly, but they are obviously understaffed. The grapefruit mimosa and Bloody Mary were both very good. My wife and one daughter had the Hotel Standard breakfast, I had a pork omelette, and the other daughter had biscuits and gravy. All were excellent. The jam which came with my wife's breakfast was possibly the best I've ever had. As I said, service was a little slow, but our experience overall was very good! read more

Let me be clear: the best part of this restaurant is the view. The food was just ok. I had the classic benedict and my friend had the Hemingway (smoked salmon, hollandaise, onions, capers, poached egg on an english muffin). Neither of us were blown away. We were very disappointed with the server, she didn't write the order correctly and she was slow. We had to wait 30 minutes for tea. The manager brought it out to us. When our salads arrived the dressing was incorrect. When the bill came it was incorrect, almost double what we expected. The waitress fixed it and returned with the new bill. We asked to see the menu, because the bill was still not correct. The manager came out with the new bill telling us that this is an old menu and the registers were set to the new prices. The new menus would not be available until March 1st!!! The manager had to change our bill twice to get the prices to match the menu. AWFUL!!! read more

We visited this cozy really fun restaurant called brunch and we met Katie,she is just a spectacular person and she made our experience here so enjoyable. There was issues with the food and a Katie made sure it was rectified. Her outgoing personality and kindness is what is needed in serving people and she served above and beyond.
