Was looking forward to a Bloody Mary and Cucumber Cooler after boating in. Was sat at 11:00. Left at 11:20. There were 20 employees running around in disorganized mayhem. Not one even acknowledged us being there. Left unhappy and un-served. Nice atmosphere as long as you just plan to sit and relax unattended. read more

Sorry, Like the other two restaurants I reviewed I wanted to like it! But this place sucks too! We were here for breakfast I had eggs Benedit! The sauce had no taste, and it was on a soggy biscuit? that's a first! I ask for a bottled water and glass of ice never got it! So, my visit to St Augustine was nice, beautiful city but your food sucks! read more

We came here on a Sunday, so we expected it to be busy. What we did not expect was disorganization and a whole lot of chaos. There was no host desk, so we had to randomly ask someone where we check in for a table. She walked away to search for one, since they do not have any floor map indicating available tables. Since there was a large group in front of us, she let us know that she wasn't sure what the wait time would be, "maybe 15 to 20 minutes?" I believe we waited around 30 until we followed up with her regarding our table where she did end up clearing off a 2-seat table and adding 2 extra seats for our table of 4. It was tight, but it being almost 12:30pm without having eaten that morning, we accepted and sat down. I ordered a lemonade which came in a tiny glass with no ice. We ordered as soon as our waiter came and it made us nervous that even though we had 4 orders, one of which was a build-your-own omelet, he did not write any of our orders down. Then we waited for 45 minutes for our food, with an apology from the waiter saying the kitchen was busy. Finally, we receive our food and we start digging in. After a couple bites (I was so hungry) I realize that I did not, in fact, order pancakes, but french toast. Not only that, but the presentation of said pancakes were extremely lacking. I believe the menu mentioned something along the lines of "whipped butter" and I got frozen butter packets on the side. They also were the worst pancakes I have ever tasted. Seriously, I do not know how you can go wrong with pancakes or if it was a bad batch but they tasted horrible. I let our waiter know how I actually ordered french toast, in which he did offer to fix it for me, but with it being so late and me being so hungry, I ate the bad pancakes. The reasons I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is that the rest of my party did not have issues with their meals and the waiter did take the pancakes off our bill. Since they are new, I recommend they try and organize themselves a little better and make better pancakes (seriously, no one at my table would touch them!). read more

We ate here mainly because of the credit we got with our room. The food is okay. We ate on Saturday morning and I had the salmon Benedict and my fiancé got the the green thumb burger. He liked the green thumb burger with fries. My salmon Benedict was okay, but it was a smaller portion and didn't look appetizing (posting pictures on yelp as well so look for those). On Saturday we were served by the female bartender. She was not very friendly and service was slow. We were staying at the attached bed and breakfast and the bed and breakfast gives guests coffee and tea for free. Like bartender gave me coffee and charged me $3! I also didn't drink the coffee because the rim of the cup had lipstick on it, though I was not wearing lipstick myself-ew. We used our credit again on Sunday. Brunch was better- coffee was free (probably since we have a better server), and we ordered the Stuffed French toast and beignets and my fiancé ordered the dirty Frenchmen. I will post pictures as well. They were delicious! Service was way way better! There was a mix up in our order and our server and the manager were apologetic and very accommodating! read more

As the already low rating for this restaurant would imply, there is a great deal of room for improvement. First off, and most importantly, the service is a big problem. Right from the start it felt like we were an unwanted intrusion on the server's morning. Only as she was dropping off the bill did she show any sign of interest. She walked away before I could finish ordering and never once asked if I want a refill on the coffee, though the cup sat empty for the entire meal. The food was also a tremendous disappointment. They were out of both of my first two choices, which you only learn from this very helpful waitress after you spend time trying to pick the second choice. The omelette I did get was a thin, rubbery, and tasteless waste of eggs with eggshell pieces throughout. There are a lot of great places to eat in this wonderful town, and while the view is nice, little else is at this establishment. I'd give it a pass if I was you. read more

Beautiful location, good service and cool looking place. The food was on the "poor" side. Pancakes felt like the boxed kind. Half the poached eggs were overcooked and hard... juices weren't natural. To be frank, a below average brunch. It was 8 of us, so we tried pretty much everything. There were a few hits, but too many misses. The lunch specials looked good but we did not try them. Its a disappointment, a place with such a great location in such a great town, with good service should be serving top-notch food. read more

Terrible! Signs pointing to the place are so misleading... followed signs from Charlotte street... walked into some kind of dining room.. then into a lobby... then into a bar? No hostess station inside nor anyone to greet guests.... just really weird... read more

Why let people sit at a table when you don't have enough kitchen staff to accommodate for food. So many tables yet the amount of time to wait for any service is terrible. Such a shame for location with such a good view. read more

Terrible service. The waiter claimed to be a chef for 20 years but he was a terrible waiter. The waiter took 45 minutes just to take our order. Then it took another 30 minutes for our food to come out and some of my food was missing. I started to eat and there was A PIECE OF PLASTIC inside of my salad. It took 10 minutes to find the waiter to let him know and at that point, my fries came out. So 20 minutes after my salad arrived, my fries finally did. I didn't eat them because I couldn't eat after chewing on plastic. My husband couldn't finish his shrimp and grits because he was so grossed out with the plastic and the bacon on our sons BLT was so overcooked, it was black. read more

First of all.. the table was dirty and the hostess didn't clean it Second, We waited for our food for at least an hour due to (according to the server) the loss of the food order. The food is alright, I ordered blueberry pancakes but because of the "unfortunate event" they run out of blueberries so I had to have plain pancakes.. my husband ordered 24 Benedict and he thinks they didn't have that much flavor. One good thing.. the view - we sat outdoors and it was nice to see the inter coastal .. another good thing, Mimosas were good and they were open to switch to pineapple juice instead of orange juice. I wouldn't come back to have Brunch read more

Initially, the hostess told us we would have a 15 minute wait, which we were completely fine with. After waiting for an hour, with no updates or explanations on why we waited 45 minutes extra, we were seated. It then took another 5 minutes before we were approached by our server. The hostess was rarely at the hostess stand to greet guests or take names. They seemed severely understaffed, or too unorganized to handle a Sunday brunch crowd, which is ironic as the name of the restaurant would suggest otherwise. The champagne that we were served for our mimosas was warm, and we were given no apology or forewarning that warm champagne was our only option. read more

Ignore the other reviews. This place was a diamond in the rough. For breakfast: I had shrimp and grits, my GF had the Italian omelette and my boy the chocolate chip pancakes. Each were large portions and very well priced. The flavors were amazing. The ambience was pleasant with piano music playing. Service was excellent. Definitely will return. read more

We stopped at Nero's for brunch and we're thrilled that they had a table available. We had French toast and a breakfast bowl, which were great, and corned beef hash, which is homemade and a " must have". I have food allergies, which I forgot to tell the server about, and realized the potatoes in the hash were deep fried, which means I couldn't eat them (which I'm used to). Without my even asking, our server, Kevin, brought out some corned beef, without the potatoes. This was such a such gesture and very unexpected. I'm not a huge corned beef fan, but theirs was amazing! Great good and great service. Highly recommend Nero's! read more

Not the best experience here. I had the classic Benedict and ordered a side of hash browns. Order came with just plain potatoes. I ordered the hash & eggs looking for actual hash brown disappointed with just plain potatoes again. My friend ordered water and it came with a nice glass with ice and a straw. I order water and got a disposable cup with no ice or straw. Disappointed with service here. read more

First morning in the area and looking for quick breakfast before a day of work. Initially walking up was a little confusing to know where to check in but after a little wondering we came across a waitress that sat us outside with a great bay view. Interesting menu and my wife and I decided to share an old stand by, eggs benidict. The holindanday was above average, egg was poached perfect and they used a high quality ham (my preference over Canadian bacon). My only issue was the muffin. While it was at the same high quality as all the other ingredients it wasn't toasted but seemed to just be warmed. Over all we will like go back to try the bar and hopefully sit on the patio, enjoy some drinks and take in the wonderful view this location has to offer. read more

Nice brunch spot right on water. Had the French omelette with shaved steak and smoked salmon which was great. Lady had the breakfast wrap. Good as well. Their French toast is excellent it's actually French toast not regular bread made to look like it. Coffee excellent as well. Celebrating our anniversary, we decided to brunch at Brunch. So glad we did!! We were seated immediately at a table overlooking the water and out server arrived right away. We started with mimosas and beignets. So good!! Then we both ordered the traditional eggs Benedict. We are big fans of this dish and order it quite a bit. Both of us were so surprised at how good this one was. Even maybe the best we've ever had! We both cleared our plates!! We highly recommend and can't wait to go back the next time we're in town! read more

Some friends and I were visiting St Augustine and decided to try this place out. When we showed up no one tried to seat us and when we finally asked to be seated the waitress did not seem interested at all in our service. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict and as you can see from the picture it wasn't too appetizing or tasty. It was also like $12. Some of my friends liked their food so I think I might have just gotten unlucky. 3 stars. read more

don't come here if you're not trying to wait 45 minutes for cold/extremely mediocre food I could've gotten at a diner. We were looking for a place to get a quick, simple breakfast before going out to museums, etc. but we've been here for over an hour and didn't get our drink and meal order taken until 10 minutes after we were seated when a waitress finally came to our table. if you're staying at the inn above, then it would probably be a good place to grab a 45 minute to an hour bite before leaving the inn. Anyways, if you're just a tourist trying to get breakfast/lunch before going out to the town, you'd be better off getting a bagel and coffee from a local coffee shop or dunkin donuts lmao ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ read more

Nice spot for breakfast/brunch looking out on the water. Pretty small - maybe about 20 tables or so. Ordered the Hotel Standard which came with 2 eggs, bacon (or sausage), toast, and home fries. What made us come here was the full service bar. Ordered mimosas and a bloody mary. The food prices were average but kind of shocked we were charged $11 for the bloody mary and $6 for the mimosa. Overall, great spot to start a Sunday! read more

The hostess sat us down on the enclosed porch. We watched other tables come and go. Not once did anyone even approach us to order a drink or offer water. After 15-20 minutes we got up and walked out. I was here with a large party (20) that had booked months in advance, but on the appointed day, the management acted like they'd never heard we were coming. Although we had requested a room, they lined us up along the crowded tables in the outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant. There was absolutely no shade, with full, blasting morning sun and just a couple fans for cooling. On top of that, something was wrong with the iced tea that literally made several members of our group physically ill. Service was slow and several orders were screwed up. The food was actually quite good, but the sunburn not so much. Get an awning or some umbrellas, please! read more

Let me be clear: the best part of this restaurant is the view. The food was just ok. I had the classic benedict and my friend had the Hemingway (smoked salmon, hollandaise, onions, capers, poached egg on an english muffin). Neither of us were blown away. The potatoes served on the side were delicious, though! The coffee was also really good. The service was just ok. It took a long, long time for us to get our change back, and we were only checked on once during our meal. Overall, a good place to grab breakfast if you mainly care about the view and coffee. read more

The service wasn't the best. The individuals next to us ended up leaving after not being served. The food came out luke warm. My friend and I ask to split our entrees but when we got it the plates were not proportional. The beignets didn't taste the best. Tasted like over fried donut holes. One positive... The mimosas we good. Wont be returning again to this establishment. read more

Neros Waterfront Cafe - Hemingway benedict and pear and brie omelete - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

Our visit was just all kinds of wrong. We came here at 11am on a Saturday. They told us it would be a 30min wait. That was okay with us but we noticed a decent number of empty tables. We figured maybe there just wasn't enough servers. We got seated at about 20mins. After we sat down we waited another 15mins. Finally this guy comes up and asks us if we've been helped. We said no and he started taking our orders. He put the orders in and at this point we were wondering if he was the manager or our server. He comes back with our drinks. (So server it is!) We see no one for another good 30mins. The place was not packed at all. We ordered breakfast food and we didn't even know our server's name coz he never introduced himself. We asked for a manager and the head server came to see us and assure us the "food is being plated right now". Then the food was horrible. My omelet was soggy. The bacon was miniature. And the "fresh greens" was some dry spinach with balsamic vinaigrette that was too sweet. We told the head server we didn't want the comp. She still kept it there but we are still never coming back here. We've been here before and we're terribly disappointed. There are other brunch places in the area that are far better. read more

Arrived in a relatively slow time and the tables were unbussed... had to wait 5 minutes for a table for two to get cleaned... then the wait started again. Another 20 minutes just to take our drink order and our menu order. The kitchen must have been in disarray because I received my cheeseburger almost 5 minutes before my wife received her omelette. Steak fries were cold and the cheeseburger was not that great. When we completed our meal which was lousy, we had to hunt down the server just to get a check. My wife and I contemplated doing a dine and dash but where more polite than that. All I can say is to dying at your own risk and at least enjoy the Ambiance because it will be a while read more

I was there for a wedding brunch and it was not a pleasant visit. The food was mediocre, I don't think the server had ever taken a large party before, it took quite a while to get our food (which is understandable with such a large party) and they forgot my boyfriend's meal. Each time I mentioned it to the server he would say "yeah, it's coming." But then brought us our check after not seeing us for 10 minutes and when I brought up the missing meal he responds "oh, you didn't get that?" We waited another 5 minutes (now 30 minutes past everyone else having finished their meals) and then I asked if the meal could just be taken off our check so we could just pay out and leave to get to the airport in time. He then cam back a few minutes later with the missing food, set it in front of us and said they would discount it. The discount was 50% the entree but did not discount the two sides that came out with it. I didn't argue because we really had to pay and get on the road. It was a bad experience the moment we walked in the door with the disappointing hostess who rudely rolled her eyes when telling us "I don't know what they are doing" when I asked if my party had been seated and if there was an event room. She only pointed to the bar in the other room in order to show me where our party was. Having worked in the food service industry as a hostess, waitress and even manager, I was very disappointed in our experience today. They have a great location that has the potential to house a fantastic restaurant space. They just need to take more time to properly train their employees and then weed out the bad ones. The one good thing I can say is that the bartender was nice. read more

The views at Brunch were beautiful with a backdrop of The Bridge of Lions and sail boats. Located inside the Casablanca Inn, I had high hopes for this spot based on previous reviews. Overall I was disappointed. The highlight was the Hemingway Benedict. Perhaps this location is better suited to breakfast items. The tomato bisque was horrible, flat in flavor and lumpy in the wrong way, it felt like a soup that was old and reheated several times over the past few days. The shrimp and grits were ok. I love southern cuisine and have a broad acceptance of a chefs translation of this dish. The grits themselves were hearty and cheesy but the shrimp was way over cooked and rubbery. For being a bed and breakfast this place lacked in service too. I never received the cocktail I ordered and just found the service to be less then attentive. Even the guests at another table had to search out their waiter for the check. read more
