Can't stress this enough "Cash Only Business". Now that I've gotten that out of the way....... [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sheila's Cafe at Anastasia Kitchen is a very quaint space with some outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is very little ventilation so be mindful of this if sitting inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress you keep reading about in previous reviews is filled with the southern charm and hospitality that you expect. Super friendly!! Now, the breakfast.....my eggs were cooked to perfection and the home fries (potatoes) also, very good!

This may have been our first time dining at Anastasia Kitchen/Sheila's Cafe but it definitely won't be our last! The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the prices were reasonable.

Amazing small place. There's a reason she's been in business for 20+ years. A gem of a find. The food was delicious for as simple as a traditional plate it was. The Mrs. ordered the French Toast sandwich and was a hit. The owner, Nicole, and staff were super friendly and made you feel at home. Always checking on us which confirms their care for the customer. A small place with little seating inside and outside but that's what this place is about. We will visit this place over any great chain biz. Menu items are common and not multiple page worth but again, that's what this place is about. Allows them to focus on fresh, scratch cooking. And yes, the home potatoes we're delish!! Considering her chef nailed our two choices, I know she can rock everything else. A must visit.

Friendly, fast and delicious food. I love a small, cafe with charm and good food. My wife and I stopped in here after reading other reviews online. We were quickly greeted and offered our choice of inside or outside seating. It is small and space limited, but when we arrived late morning there was plenty of room. I had the breakfast burrito with home fries. They were both great, but the best part was the delicious, fresh pico de gallo. It was the perfect addition to the burrito. Be sure to stop in here for breakfast.

Every trip I take to St. Augustine, I have to visit Sheila's. It's non-negotiable. I have not had a bad meal here yet - pancakes and quiche (they have different flavors depending on what they make that day) are my usual order, but the regular breakfasts and the burrito are also good. It's a small place, and you may have to wait outside for a table, but you won't be disappointed.

Anastasia Kitchen was an inexpensive, quality breakfast in a prime spot on Anastasia Island. My fiance and I were headed to the St. Augustine Lighthouse Thursday morning and wanted a quick breakfast. Anastasia Kitchen had good reviews and seemed as good as any. We arrived to an empty parking lot and a completely empty restaurant. No diners this week day morning. Even though majority of places are allowing dine-in now, Anastasia Kitchen was only doing outdoor seating. We sat at one of the picnic tables and the Florida humidity got us before our drinks even arrived. Our waitress maintained distance and it was the weirdest dining experience we had our entire trip in St. Augustine but she was nice and personable. Our food was out quick and was really good. I ordered the Pork loin eggs benedict and my fiance ordered a traditional eggs, bacon and toast breakfast. The benedict was smothered in a tasty, zingy Hollandaise sauce with a thin slice of pork resting under the poached eggs that were slightly runny as they should be. The side of home fries were not fried but more of potato chunks that had a good flavor to them as well. My fiance's traditional breakfast was good she said and unlike other places that charge $3 extra for bacon, her breakfast was $7 with it included. The food was tasty and filling and the service was good. I'm sure they had their own reasons as to why they only offered outside seating but sweating uncomfortably for breakfast was the main thing I remember from this visit. Also, they are cash only, so make sure you have that handy.

This is an amazing find - 2 time shop fronts in a strip mall on the island; one is the kitchen, the other is the dining room that can seat maybe 20 Great food, freshly cooked, reasonable prices - try it!

For our visit this time they said about a 30 minute wait which was actually 20 minutes. The vibe of the place is very cool with the old jukebox and a bar as well as tables both inside and outside. We were seated outside this visit which was fine as it was shady. I had the corned beef has with hash browns and 2 sunny side eggs. The corned beef is full of shredded corned beef with just a small amount of potatoes. The hash browns with onions were nice and crispy as I asked and the eggs were cooked nicely with the right amount of run when broken. My wife has the Classic Breakfast which is somewhat similar to what I had but with no meat. Hers was done nicely too. Thanks for a nice visit and see you the next time we're back to St. Augustine Beach!

The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.

We stopped by for dinner on a Friday night, reservations were hard to get at standard dinner time, so we made a 4:30 p.m. reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was less crowded - when we did leave about an hour later, it was much busier. The setting itself is plain inside - with such a beautiful outdoor setting, the inside looks more like a hospital cafeteria, with very bad acoustics. I don't know who designed the inside, but it's a very un-Floridian setting. The parking lot will also be interesting over time...when we arrived at 4:30 p.m., the lot was close to full, infringing upon the business next door, and by the time we left people were searching for spaces. This is definitely a place to make a reservation and arrive early. Our check-in process was a bit confusing, there's a check-in stand outside where nobody was hosting, and we assumed that was for the patio. We went inside where there's another check-in stand where we were told to go back outside to wait for the hostess so that she could check us in and bring us back inside. If you have to read that a few times, it's as confusing a process as it sounds. We were then seated at a table where we sat for 15 minutes (I started a timer after about 5 minutes) with no server, no drinks, just the two of us wondering at what point one of the many employees was going to pay attention to our table. After 15 minutes, we were approached by Rebecca who brought us drinks, and took our order. By that time, I was just hoping to get a decent meal and get out, since I really didn't expect much. Once dinner did arrive, the food was wonderful! I ordered a creative meal they have which is pulled pork barbecue and waffles, a creative play on Chicken and waffles (which they also offer). I have to give the chef a lot of credit - the meal was tasty and flavorful. Based upon the food, this restaurant would be a five star experience - regrettably with the service snafu and a very sterile environment, it's a four-star overall. Perhaps we'll return when the weather cools down a bit and we can enjoy the patio, as I don't look forward to returning to the dining room anytime soon.

The inside is just as impressive with it's "oil and gas" theme, it's rather small but we were able to get seated without a wait even though it was nearly filled. The staff here was very inviting and attentive, the menu is also themed and fairly priced, we ordered "The Ford Galaxie" two eggs your way, a choice of meats, choice of toast or biscuits and home fries or grit - although the winner here in my opinion is the coffee it's delicious, strong and robust. Unfortunately everything here wasn't perfect the "West Creek Whipped Spread Butter Blend" is an abomination, it ruined everything we put it on, my bad for not asking for real butter after applying it to my toast, my grits and the English Muffin we ordered, it was inedible to the point we left everything on the plate this stuff touched it wasn't refrigerated as suggested on the label I'm guessing. I usually eat only real butter so what was I thinking - so my dilemma is how do I review this place fairly based on that stuff and the fact it ruined our food since we loved everything else. Well I guess they'll get three stars for now and I'll return and maybe bring my own butter because this place is a place you really want to love...

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.
