Old Ice Cream Shop

Okay, the place gets 5-stars for its quirky personality. A little bit Mexican and a little bit Filipino. The restaurant really isn't anything to look at. It is obvious that the building has been repurposed. It's very plain but I do like the large windows. The service was a little slow, but our server was friendly and upbeat. So, people obviously don't come here for the ambiance. Neptune's has something different and unique. I ordered the I had the Filipino Fried Chicken (Silog) and garlic rice. I shared with my son who had the Longanisa Silog. We couldn't decide which looked better, so we enjoyed both. And both were very good. My wife had the West End Scramble. She liked hers very much as well. What else could I ask for, right? How about SPAM Fries and real Lumpia! Yeah! We'll see you guys again.

Haven't been here in many years, came with a friend and tried the Fried Chicken Silog. Very tasty and finger lickin' good ;P The pickled veggies were ok (maybe switch this up?) Service was good and ambiance very cute. We sat inside near the patio, maybe next time we will dine in the patio.

Sitting on a quiet street in Alameda with plenty of parking in the back, Neptune is a quaint little brunch spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. We stopped by Neptune's on a Sunday afternoon around 2PM, right before they were about to close at 2:30PM. While we were worried that they would turn us away, the staff was kind enough to get us seated and orders placed before their kitchen closed. FOOD: I ordered the Farmers Scramble and the Spaniard Latte. Both were so satisfying and delicious! Everyone's portions were so generous. My scramble came with a healthy serving of scrambled eggs, toast, salad, and fried potatoes. It was an incredibly comforting meal, especially while enjoying it on their outdoor patio area. Additionally, it was my first time trying a Spaniard Latte, which is a combination of espresso and condensed milk. It was the right level of sweetness and I thoroughly enjoyed it on a warm, sunny day. SERVICE: I'm so grateful that they seated us so close to closing time! The food came out quickly and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would definitely come back on another warm day to enjoy brunch in their outdoor area!

Breakfast sandwich

Small sunlit restaurant in Alameda. I got the breakfast sandwich and it came with a small green salad with a great dressing and assorted breakfast potatoes. The bun I think was from firebrand bakery. It was fluffy, slightly sweet, and complemented the sandwich components. I think a tangy aioli would make it even better and less dry as well. The purple potato was the best of the bunch with a crispy crunch and soft inside. The service was nice. The place was clean but there was a slight wet rag smell where I sat. Also I wish the ketchup was brought as needed because the sun was super strong and would warm up the glass ketchup bottle that stays at the table all day. Might come back with friend for brunch and try other dishes.

Chorizo burrito w/ yams & avocado Waygu patty loco moco.

All I gotta say is shout out to the head chef back there doing amazing things. The food is so good. Beautiful decor and patio. The team knows exactly what they're doing. Busy on Labor Day. I would assume busy any holiday. I once came before and wanted to take the ole lady for a sit down. I've had the longanisa patty and wanted to try their loco moco. Perfect. My ole lady had the chorizo breakfast burrito. The main thing that stuck out the most was presentation and preparation. They made that burrito equal parts and generous. The Waygu smashed patty was definitely a pleaser. If you want something that reminds you of home this place is it. I would definitely go back with friends or family for a chow down.

Burrito with chorizo and avocado

We came for the burrito and it did not disappoint. I got mine with chorizo and avocado, which added to the creaminess of the burrito. It was a great balance of egg and fluffy heirloom potato pieces and I loved the green salsa that accompanied the dish. The tots were perfectly crispy and complimented the heavy burrito. Service was fast and the coffee strong. You can choose to sit inside or on the patio if the weather is nice!

Chilaquiles Verdes.

I came to Neptune's because of a TikTok from The Alameda Pulse. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and seated by a lovely waiter. They have really nice plants inside! I ordered a mocha while I looked through their menu, and as much as I thought I would order the breakfast burrito (as recommended on TikTok), I am in fact a chilaquile girl. Service was quite fast and friendly. My mocha was delicious, smooth texture, right amount of foam, perfect espresso. And the chilaquiles... A M A Z I N G, Mexican approved, she did tell me the green sauce was spicy, and it was not, but they were very flavorful, nothing some hot sauce can't do. As someone who works in this very same industry and supervises a cafe, I will be coming back and bring friends/coworkers over. Ignore the bad comments, sounds like a bunch of entitled people to me.

Came here for brunch on a Monday at around 11. We were seated and helped right away. I ordered apple juice and the breakfast sandwich (disclaimer for dairy-free people: there is cheese on this sandwich, I don't think it mentioned that on the menu but I had to remove it because I'm lactose intolerant), and it came with a side salad and potatoes. We also ordered longanisa lumpia. Everything was so good! I would definitely come back. Before that day, I have picked up an iced matcha from the coffee shop window and that was also really good. I just wish they were open during the weekend!

I'm so happy to see Neptune's fully open again! The beautiful back outdoor patio is such a great space -- it's spacious, relaxing, and perfect for lingering over coffee or brunch with friends. I've been a few times recently and everything has been consistently delicious. Their latte is honestly one of the best in town -- smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced every time. On our most recent visit, we ordered the avocado toast, the breakfast sandwich with tater tots, and the Eggs Benedict. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, and everyone at the table left happy. The decor is clean and welcoming, parking is easy, and the overall vibe makes it a great place to gather with friends or family. Another big plus is their convenient walk-up window -- perfect for grabbing coffee or a quick bite on the go. If you haven't been in lately, definitely check it out. It's a wonderful spot for the west end neighborhood!

This place is pretty good. Cozy place for brunch. We were seated quickly and the servers are efficient! Food was great and would definitely come back again. Love how they have a dedicated parking lot as well. Eggs Benedict was delicious!

Ask the Community - Neptune's

I call all the time to ask when are you going to reopen?

Well what do they say??? They're sure not responding here --

Does anyone know when/if they plan to reopen indoor/outdoor dining?

I would love to know the same. I'm waiting for the day to go back here.

Do they have outdoor dining options? Do they take reservations?

Looks Yum! Do they offer gluten free toast or buns? I'm not talking about lettuce. :-)

No but get it without as I do and you'll be better off metabolic health-wise anyway 😉

So they have gluten free toast or rolls?

No but get it without as I do and you'll be better off metabolic health-wise anyway 😉

Is it still to-go orders only? Have they opened for dining yet?

As of today -- 11/14 -- they are STILL not open to dine-in. I am so so sad.

Is outdoor seating available?

Not yet!

Do they use mostly organic ingredients - does anyone know?

No. They claim "farm to table" and local ingredients, but this is inaccurate.

Is dog allowed in the patio?

Yes, dogs are allowed on the back patio. :)

They advertise outdoor seating but I don't see any pics. Is their patio cute for groups?

Really cute wooden tables, covered patio, and some patio furniture as well. Liked it more than being inside (super loud). Their Instagram @neptunesalameda has pics of their outdoor seating

The number listed is disconnected. Is Neptune's still in business? Thanks!

Yes! We go there pretty much every week. Unless it was hit by a meteor it should still be open.

That wasn't great as it was 3:30 pm on a Wednesday so I'm not sure how you run out of boba that quickly. So at least the drink was under $9. But for the price, this drink was awful. The presentation is terrible; they literally put plastic wrap on top of the lid because they didn't buy the right sized lids for the drinks! Now onto the drink itself. There was so much ice in this drink even though I selected less ice. For $9 there better be the least amount of ice possible. Taste wise, they did put real mango chunks in it but the sago was mushy and didn't blend well with the rest of the drink. After 3 sips, I had wished I had just gone to the mom and pop boba place instead. Long story short, my experience here wasn't great at all and I won't be coming back.

I understand she was the only one preparing coffee and food. I'm not trying to complain about the wait, but the lack of acknowledging a customer to say it will take some time. I finally ordered an iced latte. I do think they have some creative drinks, but I know they are usually too sweet and I just opt for a plain iced latte instead. It was an ok latte, nothing amazing. They have a bulletin board for people to post their flyers or business cards. There was a card on the board that said A.W.A.R - All woke are retards. I'm sure that's not the view of the establishment. I do think they need to screen the board from time to time.

Very easy to make reservations online though I made mine 2 weeks in advance. And they use the reservations to label the seatings. Overall it was a nice experience. This review is specifically about the female cafe manager on duty Sunday morning November 1, 2026…read more And WOW. She was SO unnecessarily rude to my sweet little family. For context, we're regulars. We come nearly every week after our littlest's soccer practice for milk steamers and snacks. We also grab our breads and coffee for the week when we're down the street drinking other things at Almanac, and we regularly recommend Firebrand to friends and family. We genuinely LOVE the bread, pizza, sandwiches, coffee, and overall vibe. So here's what happened today. My husband (a nicer-than-necessary Southern gentleman) was flying solo with our two kids (ages 2 and 6) after soccer practice. On their way outside, our 2-year-old dropped his milk steamer because, well, he's 2. Womp, womp. My husband, being the considerate human he is, tracked down the manager to alert her to the spill and ask for help cleaning it up. She walked over, looked at the spill, looked at him, smacked her lips like this was the biggest inconvenience of her entire day, and said, "Whatever, I'll clean it up later." She then informed him he'd need to get back in line and pay for another one. Meanwhile, our toddler is absolutely beside himself, literally crying over spilled milk, and the manager is offering approximately zero grace or help. When my husband asked, "Really, there's nothing you can do to help me out here?" she cheerfully replied, "Yep! Those are the rules!" So my husband, hands full with two kids (one of whom is now having a full-blown meltdown), gets back in line. By the time they get back in line, it has snaked around. Thankfully, the sweet barista who had already helped them was happy to slide him through without charging the $2.25 for another KIDS MILK STEAMER. Problem solved, right? WRONG. As my husband is handing the replacement drink to our now-consoled toddler, the manager circles back for round two. She asks if he got what he needed, then turns to the barista and asks, "Did he pay for that?" The barista, clearly possessing the common sense and basic human decency missing from this interaction, responds, "C'mon. It's just kids' milk." But the manager doubles down: "It's the rules because it wasn't our fault he dropped it." WE ARE LITERALLY TALKING ABOUT SIX OUNCES OF MILK, PEOPLE. At this point, my husband says, "Okay, then come on! Come ring me up so I can go enjoy my Sunday with my kids." He is perfectly willing to pay his $2.25 and move on with his life. Instead, this woman proceeds to hold him at the register and LECTURE him because she apparently took personal offense to the barista comping a toddler's replacement milk. And the grand finale? She refuses to let him pay, telling him, "Because YOU made a big deal about it, so just don't worry about it." I honestly cannot make this up. What an embarrassing display of "customer service" and an even more embarrassing use of whatever authority she thinks she's wielding over SIX OUNCES OF MILK. Firebrand, we love your business and have happily supported it at various locations over the years. But someone needs to remind this particular manager that customer service is about more than enforcing rules. It's also about exercising a little judgment, showing some grace, and, perhaps most importantly, not making an already-upset two-year-old's day harder over spilled milk. Someone come get your lil' manager!
