Buttery Vanilla Orange French Toast with Eggs and bacon!

My first time trying out this restaurant and the food was DELICIOUS!!! Outside of the food the service is amazing. I was greeted with warm big smiles and an easy going environment in a beautiful clean location outside. I'm definitely coming back for more !!! If you need a great breakfast or brunch this place is the place to be !!!

I ordered the eggs Benedict and the bread pudding, and my husband ordered a sausage omelet. They brought me eggs Florentine instead of eggs Benedict. Somehow the biscuits were awful, it tasted like they had used to much baking soda, they tasted sort of bitter. They forgot about the bread pudding until I asked about it later. My husband's omelet had an insane amount of black pepper in it, see photo. He could only finish half. The bread pudding was ok - I'd usually take home any bread pudding I didn't finish, but I ate about a quarter of this and left the rest.

It was great! I'm a New Orleans transplant and this place immediately reminded me of my grandmother's blackberry dumplingsshe'd found a secret stash of blackberry bushes in a vacant lot Great place, great food! Two thumbs way up!

This place was so cute! Came here for the first time. Love the space. Clean bathrooms! Service was on point! Very attentive which I appreciated! The food was ok. The portions weren't impressive but "just enough". The chai latte with oat milk was probably the best thing I had here. I'm open to trying it again and trying something new on the menu! Overall, not a bad first impression.

Each time I've been here I have received good service. The wait time has always been very reasonable and the mood of the location has always been pleasant. I'd say the best way to describe the atmosphere that I've witnessed is that most patrons I've encountered have usually chosen this restaurant as a place to meet family or friends to catch up on lost time. I'd say that, that makes for an enjoyable dining experience. One thing I unfortunately have to note, is that the food has always been average. It absolutely has never been bad, but it's never been anything special to where I'd ever go out of my way to come here again. To say it best, if you are looking for a good place for breakfast or lunch and you want to sit down and enjoy a meal with company, Blackberry Bistro is a decent place for anyone to accomplish just that. 3/5

Still one of my favorite neighborhood spots for breakfast and brunch -- such friendly service and cozy atmosphere.

Blackberry Bistro never disappoints! Today I had the prawn and grits. Absolutely delicious. It's a small restuarant, but they easily accomodated my party of big guys. Great service, good portions, excellent prices. This is a must try when in Oakland.

Nice breakfast, loved the dirty chai in the large saucer. The chai was creamy with nice touch of cinnamon. The breakfast food was pretty good. Service was fast and friendly.

Tried out this spot for the first time, experienced a bit of a wait (party of 6) but nothing a mimosa can't fix! Food was very tasty, all dishes came out from the kitchen at the same time. The jam (blackberry I believe? ) took the gold medal for me it was delish on a piece of toast.

The lady behind the counter removed some of the ice, and told me that I needed to request "less ice" when I order. Then when I told her I already asked for less ice, she back tracked and said that what I received was already "less ice" and that the coffee is pretty strong and needed ice to dilute it - and that next time I need to request for even more less ice. It was troubling to me that this was brushed off as somehow my fault and to "come back next time" in order to get the drink I requested and paid for. I tasted it and came back within a minute, because it didn't really taste like sesame flavor at all- and as I was coming back in I saw a man leave with two of the same drink which looked like it had more sesame cream than what was in my drink. I told the person behind the counter this, and the response was how the man was a repeat customer from the previous day so again, how could anything be wrong with the drink I received? She took my drink and added more sesame but who knows - I couldn't see and she said she " mixed it in for me"- it looked exactly the same. Anyways, this had been such a frustrating experience with too much back and forth for what should've been a really simple solve.

Their organic coffee tastes great, the space is pleasant with a lot of natural light and the atmosphere is relaxed. We also love the mix of clientele which is just so Oakland. However this visit has been different. The quality of service has fallen tremendously. Despite the specific but extremely simple instructions of the order, it's rarely followed fully. One day it will be perfect, the next the coffee is barely warm when one has asked for extra hot; or one coffee will be sweetened and the other not at all when the instructions clearly ask for light sweet. One day we got two espressos instead of two cortados! The heated fatayer were cold in the corners and all crowded on to one plate so you couldn't tell which has which filling. Just generally, it's as if the people behind the counter no longer care that your experience should be great or that one cup of coffee that you have in your day be perfect! It's not even as if one is asking for anything outside of their ordering menu. We're really dismayed and saddened to see our favorite coffee haunt fall so far from grace. Here is hoping, though, that they will rethink their service attitude.

I don't believe they have a food program besides some pastries. Would love to see some breakfast and lunch options offered; it would entice us to hang out even longer. Music is good and upbeat - definitely extra points from me on that. Pay attention to the leaflets/posters and other materials they have at the entrance and around the establishment, you might be pleasantly surprised at what you find. Last time we were in, I picked up a calendar of free classes on various highly useful skills, offered by a local organization.
