This place wasn't far from my hair salon and my daughter was hungry. We grabbed a bagel with avocado , olive oil, salt and black pepper and a . It is kind of hidden on Mandela Parkway behind a few trees but they have a full menu, pastries, coffee, tea etc. the cashier was attentive and patient.

Both were fantastic and very fresh. The sausage sandwich has this gorgeous green sauce that really makes the sandwich special. Pro Tip: come for lunch and get the BLT sandwich!

I moved to West Oakland a few months ago and was surprised to find that there was only one cafe close by, but they always sold out of their food. Nunu's just opened two weeks ago and I tried them for the first time. I got a latte and an almond croissant, both were great. They have a bunch of options on their menu like pizza, sandwiches and an ube cheesecake which I'd like to try another time. Cute outdoor seating area and you can also take your drink/food and have them in the Mandela parkway island.

Had the bacon breakfast croissant sandwich. Finally somewhere that has flavor in their food ‍ also got a hazelnut iced latte which passed the color and taste test. The barista was so nice and attentive with service. Overall 10/10 will be back soon read more

LOVE this spot. The guy working is super nice and It's usually busy and i've only seen one guy working alone on the weekend doing drinks and food so PLEASE be patient with him he deserves it!! We ordered the deluxe avocado toast with added egg and bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich comes with a chipotle mayo that's perfect with it. read more

The food here is delicious! Our (diverse) family popped in for sandwiches based on Yelp excellent reviews. Nunu was kind to all, gracious and can definitely cook! The cafe is sparse but there is some indoor seating and tables out in front. Would definitely swing by again to grab meals. There is music playing in the background - I didn't know most of the songs but it was energetically nice! Thanks Nunu! read more

I have been coming here daily for my coffee before work for over a year and a half now. Nunu is such a gem and is the most kind gentleman who really cares about his customers. Some days he even has my order ready before I walk in because he sees my van outside (I order the same thing every day lol). He also makes my favorite breakfast sandwiches around. Just tried this spot for the first time, and immediately my new favorite cafe spot. I have only tried one thing so far, the bacon breakfast sandwich, but it was dope AF. Generous amount of bacon, cooked to perfection, brioche bun so fluffy and flaky it tasted more like a croissant, scrambled eggs really soft and juicy, with a lot of sauce. Definitely more of a decadent style of breakfast sandwich. Super warm atmosphere (literally and figuratively), comfy couches, super chill vibes from the staff. The cafe's decor is nice, very chic and simple. It was quite on a Friday afternoon, ideal place for a small study group or to get some light work done. Now the food was on point-5/5 stars!! I got a pork sausage egg breakfast sandwich and it was so delicious. They had a sauce on the sandwich that just made it amazing, and the bread they used was very good. It was aesthetically pleasing to look at too.I will definitely be back to try the other dishes from this cafe!! I also order a Berry smoothie which was really nice, tasted amazing and fresh. Customer service was prompt and friendly. Inside cleanliness was good. I do suggest getting rid of the flies that are outside the patio area/entrance. That was a turn off but I was very appreciative that the owners did have an overhead fan at the entrance to prevent the flies from entering the store. I'd also suggest light music, just to fill in the awkwardness of waiting for my order. I think it's so common to listen to some soft pop/ R&B music in the background while we shop nowadays. Maybe laminate the paper menus so it'll look more sleek and professional since there isn't a huge menu sign. Can't wait to head back that way for more delicious food and smoothies! read more

Honestly, this is probably the best cafe in Mandela. Tried the other cafes on this street and not a fan of how they make my Iced Lattes. Their breakfast croissant is shmackin'. That Sriracha mayo (I think) they put it the sandwich makes it very tasty. Iced Vanilla Latte is on point, I love my drinks with helluh ice. read more

It's so nice to have another cafe in my neighborhood. I'm super excited about this place reopening again. I love that they have smoothies and green juices and pizzas. Such a nice variety. They have lots of seating options, more than Kilovolt. I had a toast with Nutella and banana and did not expect it to be so big!! Quite filling. I stop by for the breakfast sandwich because they do not hold back! Great portion, awesome flavor and super reasonably priced. Nunu and his staff are extremely friendly and what's greet me with a smile and Ann enthusiastic "hello!". This is a solid relaxed coffee shop conveniently on Mandela and I highly recommend more people in west Oakland come out and support this great local business! read more

Instead of honoring the agreement promptly, they made her wait nearly an extra hour before finally paying the correct balance. Throughout that time, no one offered so much as a drink or a plate of food, despite an elaborate buffet being available for guests. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disregard for performers' time left a very negative impression. Vendors and entertainers deserve to be treated with respect and paid as agreed.

It had that warm, roasted flavor that makes hojicha so comforting without tasting overly sweet or heavy. It's the kind of drink I'd come back specifically to order again. The matcha latte was perfectly drinkable, but it didn't stand out the same way. It wasn't bad by any means, just not the most memorable. I'd definitely return, especially when I'm in the mood for a good hojicha latte and a quiet break while exploring Piedmont Avenue.

I moved about a year ago and every time I am in town, I go to Nunu's. LENTIL & RICE PILAF TOPPED WITH SALATA and their HUMMAS is the best in town. It has been at the top of my list for decades because they are consistantly delicious. read more
