    Beef patty

After seeing the good reviews for this Black-owned business I was really excited to visit the next time I was in Oakland. Pros: The dark roast coffee was really good. It had a slight maple flavor, and I would love another cup. Lol. The beef patty had a really good flavor, and the filling was plentiful. The place has a comfortable feel and nice art. What could be better: The coffee could have been hotter. The wait for the patty was so long I had finished my coffee, and decided to take it to go. The patty stayed in the oven so long that part of it was overcooked, dark brown, and hard. Also, their menu states the beef patty is $12 yet I was charged $14.50, and didn't notice right away because their receipt was emailed to me. Staff were functioning and I wouldn't say unfriendly - just sort of neutral when engaging with customers. I might order for delivery next time I'm staying nearby but probably wouldn't visit again. Parking isn't the best and there were no comfortable seats available when I went.

The ambiance was cozy and artsy. The perfect coffee shop to live your main character life. Great coffee and polite and quick service. Loved all the community flyers and loved that it was next to the Fox Theater. Fanciest restroom I've ever used in a coffee shop

Probably the best coffee spot in the east bay, truly! Being close to Bart and not having to look for parking, I know I could always come grab an ice coffee or a latte when I want to study in a safe space. The service is always quick, and the environment is always friendly

I was in the Uptown Oakland area and needed a caffeine kick. The place I usually go to wasn't selling coffee after a certain time (not sure what's up) so I walked a few blocks to Kinfolx. I love the space! It's welcoming, warm, and inclusive. Definitely a community space. There's so many fliers advertising groups, events, and activities. The interior is very thoughtful. They also have a book club and they offer Caribbean patties. I enjoyed my rose iced oat latte. It wasn't overly sweet but had good flavor. Great place to work.

Kinfolx Coffee is a staple must-try, and the Kinfolx Latte was my highlight. The latte was like a warm hug on a rainy day and the atmosphere was inviting. Kinfolx definitely earned a spot on my Coffee Passport, and I'm looking forward to coming back for more.

Wow! Such a good experience. I am so happy I finally made it here. Huge location, plenty of varied seating (community tables, small tables, sofas, benches, etc.). We got there for a book club shortly after Kinfolx opened today (Sunday), and we got seats in the back area with the blue sofas. Ordered a matcha latte with lavender. SO GOOD! I got the bacon, egg, and, cheese sandwich on brioche. After my book club, I moved to a different table at the front of the store to get some work done, order another meal/ drink, people-watch. Plenty of outlets available. Picked up a gift-card for a secret Santa exchange later in the week (theme: local small businesses). You can earn points/ rewards, so make sure to sign up. There's plenty of parking around. Ran into a couple of friends who joined me and saw Kev Choice! That's another reason I loved this spot -- so many people, so much community. There are tons of events all the time! I'm coming back soon for a writing workshop and for more drinks, food, and community.

This mattered to me. Girl, boom.

Wit' my Kin' an' 'em. I always find a friend when I'm at Kinfolx. Always. I meet a new artist or a new face that I end up chatting it up with and just finding something to like about. Call it serendipity or living in the kind of city where folks tend to cultivate the creative, but Kinfolx's fresh interior often proves the perfect backdrop for a good conversation alongside their great drinks and grub. Kinfolx serves as an excellent workspace but can also quickly get a bit crowded, so that's something to bear in mind. Kinfolx also hosts a slew of community events and workshops, working with local organizations who put on various events or projects at the café. You can check their website to see what they've got coming up or to book the venue for your own soirée. And to top it all off? They have a bidet. Pretty much perfect.

Looking for a spot in Oakland with great food, caffeine, and WiFi? Look no further--- Kinfolx is your place. Massive space where community can share food, good times, all the things. There are different seating options around, including large community tables, smaller tables tucked inside the venue, sofas, benches, the works. A place for everyone. I enjoyed my unsweetened matcha and breakfast sandwich. So good. Everything. The decor and ambiance is also on point. Look no further. Come on down.

Banana cream cold foam is seasonal! The matcha came unsweetened but you can add syrup to your drink or just add sugar yourself. The ambiance was everything and the cafe is so cute!

This place truly lives up to its inviting name I felt at home instantly. The work area is fantastic, and the friendly service with a smile makes every visit enjoyable. The ambiance sets the perfect mood for closing deals, whether big or small. I tried the avocado bagel toast; even if it's not on the menu, they figured it out and crafted my signature Americano with vanilla, half and half, and four sugars absolutely delightful! The jalapeño and cheese bagel was simply delicious. Plus, I loved soaking in the sunshine and admiring the art on the walls. It's exciting to learn they host events and also sell wine here -- such a bonus. I always stop by whenever I'm in Oakland and can't wait to attend their upcoming events.

The vibes at Kinfolx are always good. This is a Black owned business that promotes inclusivity. It's a good place to study, sit down for a bit, or grab food or drinks to go. It has a very art deco/black renaissance interior. I really enjoy the artwork, books the selves, wine display, and overall aesthetic. People watching has been one of my favorite things to do while waiting for my coffee to go. The coffee is delicious

Popped in for breakfast snack after going to my union hall around the corner. Was delighted to find so many great things. The ambiance was popping, hello beautiful artwork! The menu had options, hello tasty vegetarian breakfast situations! I chose the veggie patty and my husband had the avocado toast. Neither of us are vegetarians but it slapped none the less. He had a straight black coffee and j had a matcha latte with almond milk and for the first time in my life the matcha wasn't sweetened. Amazing!! I sprinkled a few grains of raw sugar in my drink and that was it. We sat in a lovely velvet couch, had a lovely conversation and enjoyed our time. Glad to know this place is nearby a place we frequent for work. Will be back.

I expected actual lox in the bagel and lox sandwich that I ordered but instead got a lox smear. What a let down for the price I paid. The cashier acted like she didn't want to be there. Casual atmosphere. The Kinfolx latte was alright.

Is the cafe open during events?

What's the kinfolx space fee (3.5%)? Bought a coffee to go and got charged an additional fee.

    How's the wifi?

Great-- I can do everything from casual email & web browsing to video calls, larger file downloads, insta scrolling, etc.

Do they serve decaf coffee? I went there 2 weeks ago and the person at the front desk said that they didn't have any that day.

They did have some the day I went.

I really wanted to like this place. I'd walked by several times and loved the interior design, and the videos on Instagram made it seem like such a great spot. I stopped in one evening by myself, ordered a glass of wine and the warm olives (which were delicious), and was looking forward to a relaxing night. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. The restaurant was packed, and the atmosphere felt more concerned with maintaining an image than making guests feel welcome. I understand some restaurants embrace a more reserved European style of service, but this came across as cold and pretentious rather than intentional hospitality. As a solo diner especially, I didn't feel acknowledged or valued as a guest. It also didn't help that the dining room had a noticeable body odor smell that took away from the experience. On a positive note, the bathroom was clean and beautifully designed. I originally thought this would become my go-to place to grab a glass of wine while waiting for a table at the ramen spot next door, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Reading through other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who had this impression. Oakland's charm has always been its people. You can open a French-inspired wine bar, but hospitality translates into every language. If you're going to bring a Parisian aesthetic to Oakland, don't mistake indifference for sophistication. Guests should leave feeling welcomed, not judged.

She veered us towards the back wall, where we could order a couple glasses of champagne while we waited. The young man that helped us decide which dry brut we wanted was great (bar)! We were seated before 3:30 and the metal tables can be slippery and ours was too small for everything to fit. I ended up knocking my $18 1/2 glass of champagne on the ground where it shattered (I have tremors in hands) - not a single employee came by to ask if we were ok, to clean it up, move us to another table or offer to fill my glass back up 1/2 way. This is within the first 15minutes of sitting. Our server was a ghost. She had on this dark purple, pinstriped shirt (not hard to miss) and would walk by and tell us she'd be "right back!". All she did was check in when we were first seated to ask what we wanted, before we read the menus. She didn't ask our prefereces, she didn't go over any specialty wines or specials. I was very disappointed with the entire experience. We both got the red flights on top of our champagne. We ony liked two reds and the pours were so small, it was truly difficult to tell all the depth, character and full bodiness of them. We bought no wine bottles. And, no one encouraged a sale either. I was going to get the JFJ white bubbly, but this place with its poor service, tiny pours (not even 2oz) and even tinier charcuterie plate serving sizes wasn't worth it (salami, goat cheese w/oil, espresso cheese, 1/4 baquette w/oil). I was so embarassed that I brought my friend here for her 50th thinking we'd have a blast, like at Rockwall or Dasche - NOPE. All that for $135!

They have 2 types of service options, if you decided to enjoy wine in their establishment. You can either order a $20 wine flight (Which comes with 3 glasses) or buy a bottle and they will uncork for you to enjoy there. They had about 1 to 2 options for 4 wine type of choices located on a card. We went with the flight. I had questions because I am a Cab and Malbec girl and in their Reds area, nothing adds even close to it. When the male employee spoke to me, he had a bit of sarcasm coming off. I didn't understand why because my questions were valid. He was short with his answers as if he did not want to talk to me. After this, he poured our drinks. I questioned the amount because it was very very very little bit. When I spoke with that same guy, he stated "What you expect..a whole glass of wine at $20 for 3?" I told him that I expected a little more love half a glass. He was like "It says on the card that it is 2.5 oz". I looked at the card because I knew that was nowhere on there. So I informed him that the size was not in the card and that is something that they should put because what we received was not worth $20 and that we could have purchased a bottle. That's how they get people. That flight is a total rip off!! Also, he put the drinks all on front of us, but did not tell us which was which, who's was for who nor personally give it to us. There were no little signs to inform us of what we were drinking. We had to ask him because he had walked off. He came over and was confused as you which was which as well. We received no water and we weren't even asked. Both employees were consumed with another person who was there (Business) and wine tasting and talking that we just weren't that relevant to ensure that our needs were fully met. Wine tasting: All 3 of the wines I had was disgusting. The one of the Reds that I had, stated it was bold. It was not. I had a Bubble (Orange) and it was horrible. Like all of them were cheap wines with no real packed flavor. The female employee or owner (I'm unsure) asked ONLY my friend what she thought of the wine. She never bothered to ask me which was really unprofessional. Neither of them ever introduced themselves or gave their names although we indicated that this was our 1st visit. Not very personable. This was a total waste of money and time for an experience. Wet had to go and find another place to get an enjoyable experience at.
