Well, I'll say this is one of my favorite spots! I'm here almost every Friday, but don't tell everybody about my little hidden gem by the water. You're guaranteed to have an amazing time, especially when you bring good friends you can vibe with. I have a wine membership, and I love it! I receive two bottles every other month, but sometimes they don't last very long, so I just go back and purchase another bottle. I love the almond wine because I'm more of a sweet wine and champagne type of girl. I've tried at least 15 of their wines and haven't been disappointed yet. The salmon with the little roll is delicious, and I also enjoy the chicken sandwich. The salad isn't really for me because I don't care for the greedy topping they use, but that's simply my personal preference. They also host jazz festivals and other outdoor events. You can reserve an area on the grass with tables and chairs, or simply bring your own chair, order something from the bar, and relax by the water. You can even sit on the grass and read a book. The water is absolutely gorgeous at night! This is one of those places that is difficult to explain because the entire experience is so amazing. First, my friends and I have been customers (& wine club members) long before the family sold the winery to this Napa based corporation. But, we have not visited since the ownership change. I made a reservation to celebrate my friends' 50th birthday for 3:30pm outdoors. We arrived about 30minutes early and checked in w/the hostess. She veered us towards the back wall, where we could order a couple glasses of champagne while we waited. The young man that helped us decide which dry brut we wanted was great (bar)! We were seated before 3:30 and the metal tables can be slippery and ours was too small for everything to fit. I ended up knocking my $18 1/2 glass of champagne on the ground where it shattered (I have tremors in hands) - not a single employee came by to ask if we were ok, to clean it up, move us to another table or offer to fill my glass back up 1/2 way. This is within the first 15minutes of sitting. Our server was a ghost. She had on this dark purple, pinstriped shirt (not hard to miss) and would walk by and tell us she'd be "right back!". All she did was check in when we were first seated to ask what we wanted, before we read the menus. She didn't ask our prefereces, she didn't go over any specialty wines or specials. I was very disappointed with the entire experience. We both got the red flights on top of our champagne. We ony liked two reds and the pours were so small, it was truly difficult to tell all the depth, character and full bodiness of them. We bought no wine bottles.And, no one encouraged a sale either. I was going to get the JFJ white bubbly, but this place with its poor service, tiny pours (not even 2oz) and even tinier charcuterie plate serving sizes wasn't worth it (salami, goat cheese w/oil, espresso cheese, 1/4 baquette w/oil). I was so embarassed that I brought my friend here for her 50th thinking we'd have a blast, like at Rockwall or Dasche - NOPE. All that for $135! read more

There really is no need for a reservation because they don't honor it anyway. Got here at 430pm for a 530pm reservation. Was told nothing available for another 30-45 minutes (understandable) so we walked around. Came back, a couple was at the host stand before us. No reservation. Got the last decent table inside. For us, who came early, walked, came back WITH a reservation, we were offered a sh*tty table inside. Service is selective and slow. I've been coming here since they opened. My bestie has been a member since the early days. This place is gentrified and I do NOT recommend going here. I don't think I'd come back unless I went with the BFF, because, they clearly DGAF about certain clientele. read more

This is a good place for a glass/bottle of wine, mimosas or sparkling wine and great conversation with great people. On Saturdays and or Sundays, they tend to have a live band. In addition to sitting inside and outside in the front, you can also sit on the grass with your behaved fur Baby, but you can't bring your glass out there. You have to use plastic. They have light bites like pizza, sweets, and you can make your own charcuterie board, à la cart. They also have soups and sandwiches. Stayed in Walnut Creek and attempted to visit a vineyard but couldn't find any open. Ended up making a reservation here, was pleasantly surprised at the nice view overlooking the bay by the ferry terminal. We sat on the patio and it was perfect weather for a mimosa flight. Quality/Quantity - I am saddened to write this update. Rosenblum has updated and changed their members' benefits within the last few months. I noticed changes as early as the beginning of this year. And the changes are NOT to my benefit, so I will probably cancel my membership if I have not already canceled it as I post this update. We have been members for years and rarely visit, usually once every 2 months for pick ups or when entertaining. So it should be very profitable for you. We just rejoined the Livermore Wineries who give better benefits, well the same benefits as this winery used to give. Plus now my wife can go outlet shopping; a win/win. Great wines, Kent Rosenblum (RIP 2018) has done an outstanding job with his zinfandels and the current parent company has done an impressive job maintaining the brand until recently. Well, the wines are still good. Atmosphere - Still a beautiful decent size location. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating, but of course we come on weekdays and early. Table, high tables, bar seating, etc. Free limited street parking, free for 2-4 hours. Also be careful of car break-ins. Validated garage parking (not free, discounted); see website for specifics. Service - Still 5 stars, good to see some of the regulars still working here. I'm going to miss them. Price - As a member, the first drink is complementary with up to 1 additional guest now. So I guess I have to take all my future guests to our Livermore wineries... Which also means less potential future customers for you as they will sign up as members there instead of here. We spend approximately $50 on snacks + generous tips. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1978. We have been customers since you operated out of that "shack" in Alameda next to the main ferry. Disappointed. We used a two-for-one wine tasting coupon. We were served a flight of 4 red wines with a notecard. This is not a wine tasting experience.... where they pour your wine and give you an explanation of each tasting. There was no wine conversation. Staff was generally disengaged. I had a good overall experience at Rosenblum Cellars in Jack London Square, and the wine itself was fantastic. That said, the service and overall atmosphere left something to be desired. The servers seemed somewhat distant and disinterested, and the experience didn't have the warm, welcoming feeling I'd expect from a neighborhood wine bar. I was actually considering becoming a member because I enjoyed the wine so much. However, I was disappointed to learn that children are allowed in certain areas of the space. During my visit, there were four kids running from table to table, which was quite disruptive and took away from what otherwise could have been a very enjoyable wine experience. The last thing I want as an adult going to a wine bar is to have children running around and disrupting the atmosphere. The restroom situation also added to the frustration. There are only two restrooms, and both appeared to have extended waits during my visit. When one finally opened, an entire family of four came out, and the restroom was left in a pretty messy condition. Given the limited number of restrooms, the cleanliness and turnover really stood out. The wine is definitely the highlight, but I'd hope for more attentive, welcoming service, better restroom upkeep, and a more relaxed, adult-oriented atmosphere for guests who are there specifically to enjoy wine. read more

Nice Saturday sipping wine, sitting by the water and spending a nice little DEI afternoon. Perfect place to land your feet after a ferry ride over. Crowd was, thankfully, diverse. I've been here a few times. Service has always been great. I'd recommend making a reservation as they get busy on weekends. There's a 90-minute table limit but you can take your wine to the lawn. I feel so lucky to have this winery within walking distance of my house. It's in a beautiful location overlooking the bay and makes for a great pitstop before or after taking the ferry. This place is a jewel on the sea! I have been here multiple times and I've always enjoyed my time here with my friends! They have a beautiful interior and exterior with large bay view windows that allows you to see the gorgeous water and boats nearby. A sunset dinner at this location is BEAUTIFUL! The evening dinner is lovely as well with all the ferry lights in front. The main dining room has soft lighting, chic Oakland art, and an industrial look with a variety of comfortable seating. This is a nice winery in the middle of a lot of things. Very accessible, right next to the ferry with a great view of the water. It's a great spot to people watch if you're into that type of thing. Parking is a little bit on the harder end if you want to park in the street, but Jack London does have a parking garage that Rosenblum validates for. They have great service and a good wine list with Zinfandel being their most popular. We didn't order food because we were heading to dinner after but they look like they have a pretty good selection of snacks to enjoy with company. I want to come back in a drag bingo night. But this spot is pretty decent to come to when you get off of work, especially if you take the ferry, and pop in for a quick after work relaxing me time before heading home to the chores waiting at home. read more

Parking is located at Jack London and they can validate parking for you. It's right by the ferry building and kind of secluded from other businesses so it's not too loud. Their outdoor seating is perfect right by the water while their fire playlist is playing in the background. I was surprised they made their own wine! I don't know why given their name, haha, but yeah, their wine is yummy. They have 3 flights of tastings: red, white and sparkling. I do wish they did offer a mix of red and white, but if you go with a friend, just try each other's. I went against my usual and ordered their white wine flight and it did not disappoint. All of the selections were light and refreshing, perfect for when it's warm outside. If you buy a bottle, they'll comp your tasting. They do offer some snacks which is on the pricier side. We ordered some French bread and Brie cheese .The Brie cheese was a generous slice and the French bread was warm which is always a bonus! I would definitely come back again. The host or manager had attitude not sure if he just had a bad day because it was hot and busy but service was not that great.
