We were here once before they shut down due to a kitchen fire, and were excited to visit again upon learning they recently reopened. So first, for the good: The location is great. Per their name, they are located on the waterfront, on the Oakland Embarcadero, with a nice view to take in while enjoying brunch. They are open Saturday and Sunday only for breakfast/brunch, and the rest of the time they serve as an event space available for renting out for special occasions. The service is good. Our server today, Gabriel, was very nice and pleasant to talk with. The food is tasty. I enjoyed my shrimp & grits ($25), and the shrimp was fresh. My partner had the Bayside Breakfast ($21), which I feel should have been more generous in portion size. Now for the real shout-out: they don't use any seed oils! Major props to any restaurant that's seed oil free. Seed oils (canola, sunflower, safflower, etc.) are cheap, but utterly horrible for your health, and any restaurant that doesn't use them gets a big thumbs-up from me. What could use some improvement: The mimosas are generous in size, but definitely juice-heavy. A momo should be about 50/50 juice to champs. Here it was 80/20. It would be nice to have the TV's on during brunch, and if I may make a suggestion in advance, when you do put on the TVs, please be original and put on something other than sports - literally anything else. Went for Mother's Day brunch- buffet style. Service wasn't great even though all they were doing was seating and getting drinks. For example- I had to go get my own glass and pour my water because they only served us 3 waters for 4 people. The drinks and food were just ok, nothing great. They struggled to keep up with the buffet replacement so we didn't really get to try much as most of the food was gone when I went through. I came here today for brunch with a group of women and receded by a back door with nice views of the water. I do see why this restaurant has a three and I would also give it a three. The menu for brunch is definitely one where you can find something for everyone. You can get a full breakfast, or if you just fancy pancakes, shrimp, and grits or some of your options like fried chicken and waffles or French toast. There's also items on the side that you can order such as eggs or meat like bacon. Our server, though he was nice was not super attentive. I don't know if the rest of the restaurant was super crowded, but we were a pretty large group and a bunch of us had ordered bottomless mimosas however I didn't feel like they were getting their bottomless pricewise because it was taking a really long time to refill each glass. Also, it was hard to get anything like water or napkins because he never came back around really to check on us. He was friendly though, but service is about getting what you need while you're eating without having to hunt down your server. I ordered a single mimosa with orange juice and could barely taste any champagne. I might as well just ordered orange juice. For my entrée, I ordered the shrimp and grits and as you can see from the picture, it had a hefty amount of arugula on top. I thought the arugula was going to be a garnish, but it looked more like shrimp and grits salad. The sauce for the grits was pretty tasty, but the arugula really threw me off. What I pay $25 for that again? Maybe however I would ask for the arugula to be on the side or minimal. One of my friends got the fried chicken and waffles and she said it was pretty good. There was some commotion during our visit where an angry group of women overturned one of the tables in the restaurant. It made a loud noise like a crashing sound. The server apologize for the noise and came over very flustered stating the restaurant was no longer going to do bottomless mimosas because of issues like that. People need to act better. Even if your service is not great it's still doesn't mean you get to be rude and destroy property. Hopefully they called the police or something or I got resolved some other way. The bathrooms are nice and clean, which is nice. The check came out and you can pay three different split ways. That was also nice. When I come back? Maybe. We came here for brunch to celebrate our friend's birthday. This was their grand opening weekend. The service was very good, attentive and helpful regarding menu selections. For drinks we had grapefruit mimosas. Each of us ordered a different dish. The shrimp and grits were made with jumbo shrimp and grits with arugula on top. The portion of grits could have been larger, especially considering the cost of the dish. The French toast was so moist and delicious, we didn't need to use the syrup because it was already so sweet. The breakfast plate was good, well seasoned, the potatoes were soft and the sausage was cooked crispy. The view as you sit outside on the patio is fantastic. It's a relaxing waterfront view. It took them over 50 mins to put out all the food options for the brunch. French Toast was the last to come out..... prime rib was sliced so thin it was like sandwich meat. All food was sub par at best. They came over and gave us our check and we weren't even done eating. One of the people in our group found a crab claw bone in her food. Well, we went for Brunch on a Saturday to celebrate a birthday. And to our surprise it didn't go as well as expected. The window seats provided an excellent view of the estuary; we were greeted promptly and seated and were able to enjoy the view. And then came the events that wasn't great. Here's some basic things that we noticed. There was no salt and pepper on the table. No offering of bread-and-butter. The silverware setting only had a knife and fork (no spoon). We ordered the mimosas and they were good, a little pricey but good. A cup of clam chowder was ordered along with an order of Grilled Korean Cauliflower. The clam chowder was the thickest that I have ever seen and was not hot. The cauliflower was tasty; however, we had to ask the waiter for saucers so that we could share the appetizer. We then ordered our main course, which was the Bayside Breakfast. We all had the chicken apple sausage which was tasty all though some of the pieces appeared to have been cooked long enough to have been burnt. The breakfast potatoes were ok, would have been better if they were cooked with some bell peppers and/or onions in them. One dish was supposed to have scrambled eggs cooked well and that didn't happen, they were medium. The other two eggs plates were fine but again if we had wanted to shake salt/pepper on them we would have had to ask the waiter to bring it because it was not on the table. The dollar sized pancakes that came with it were not warm or hot. There should be an option to get toast of some kind, but they don't have that option with that dish. To make matters worse we had to ask the waiter for butter for the dollar size cakes. And then came the kicker. We asked the waiter for a slice of Key Lime pie that's on the menu and were told they didn't have it. Wow. Bottom line. Will we go back. No, I don't think so. read more

My wife had the steak sandwich, which I tasted. Excellent too. The chef was at Lungomare (Waterfront Hotel) in the past. Service: Excellent, no complaints. I can not explain how disappointed I am in this restaurant. I had the worse BIRTHDAY experience on 4/26/2026. I can't say the food was horrible, because we never received it. We had a reservation for 12:30pm and it was fairly empty. We were seated with no issues, served water with no issues. Waited for drinks for 15 minutes and it continued to go down hill from there. I saw other patrons leaving with food still on their table, but didn't think much of it. Then time began to tick. Another Patron came over to our table and told us that we should leave because the food was horrible and it took over an hour to recieve their dishes. We should have. I had a another Birthday event at 2pm and I finally decided that I was leaving right at 2pm. What a horrible way to spend my birthday and I felt for my other 5 guests who drove from Sacramento to host this Birthday Brunch for me. We had to go to the next event and doordash food to eat because we were starving. I had my 50th Birthday Party at Eve's before they shut down and 2 other events there and it was amazing. I recently visited Eve's Waterfront to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends and family, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. From the start, the service was subpar. Our waitress was disengaged and had a noticeable attitude, forgetting multiple items from our orders and responding poorly to basic questions about dietary needs. The food itself was underwhelming. I ordered a steak and eggs, and the steak was well-done instead of medium-well, with burnt pieces that made it inedible. Others in my party found their French toast to be thin and overly sticky with caramelized sugar, lacking the proper texture. Additionally, the food took over an hour to arrive, even though the restaurant was not busy. When we asked for the check, the waitress mixed up who requested it and tried to add extra gratuity incorrectly. Even after speaking with management, it was clear they didn't take our concerns seriously. Overall, it was an overwhelming and disappointing experience, especially for a birthday celebration. Went for their reopening brunch weekend with my friends -- not sure what I expected, but it was just okay. The host was the friendliest of everyone -- such a sweet lady. While I can't speak to the public dining experience, the service provided for our large function was simply unacceptable. Service Breakdown: Extremely Slow & Disorganized * 1:30 PM: Event program started. * 2:15 PM: Salads were served. * 1 hour 15 minutes later, Only salmon entrées were delivered. They were barely warm. * Another 1.5 hours later Beef entrées were finally served to the remaining guests. This resulted in some attendees waiting over 3.5 hours for their main meal. The organization was a mess, leaving entire tables without food long after others had eaten. Food Quality: Seriously Lacking All the food we received was disappointing, especially considering the price paid in advance: * Beef Entrée: The sliced beef was tough and almost lacked seasoning. * Potatoes: The accompanying roasted potatoes were hard and visibly undercooked. * Salmon: It was served barely warm and was of very poor quality. Staff Response: Apologies Without Action While the managers and waiters were profusely apologetic about the delays and food issues, their attempts to fix the situation failed: * They repeatedly tried to bring extra plates of salmon to tables that were waiting for beef. * The manager offered to comp drinks as an apology. Eves Waterfront has been here for years and I came for a friends Bday lunch many years ago For the first time. I enjoyed it and I've been somewhat regular here ever since. It's nice, located away from the hustle and peaceful with views of the water and boats. I've have several of the menu items but I'm sprung on the Maple Fennel seed Ribs (I usually ask for no seeds), always get 2 orders when I come. Everything I've eaten on the menu has been really good, but the Ribs at least for me are impossible to ignore when eating here. You can eat indoors, upstairs, or on the outside deck overlooking the water. I usually prefer eating outside, and will generally have them open the umbrella so it's not too much sunlight on us. On cooler days of you aren't prepared for the chill on the Bay you may want to sit inside to be sure. I'm definitely a fan of this place, it's food, low key ambiance, the service and the location. Swung by on a weekend, late morning, called ahead and were told it wasn't busy and we could walk in. Arrived to find easy parking in their own parking lot, plenty of space. We were seated quickly and accommodated when we asked to switch to a larger table. Had a very pleasant server who answered our questions and did a great job overall. We decided to have brunch here this past weekend. They have an incredible view of the Oakland estuary from anywhere in the restaurant. We had a reservation and got seated right away. Waitress got our order in pretty quickly and we got our drinks in short order too. Now it's time to relax, drink and enjoy that awesome view. About a good 50 minutes later, we finally get our food. My son's burger was medium when he asked for well done and my pressed chicken was little undercooked in some parts. The crème brûlée French toast was very good though. The waitress kept apologizing for the wait but to wait this long for our food was not acceptable. I looked around the restaurant and it was not very busy, so I just didn't understand why it would take this long and still not get our food order right. Our reunion committee held the first meeting at Eve's Waterfront on February 29, 2020 at 12 PM or thereabouts. We were planning to have our 50th year reunion at this venue for August 22, 2020. Charles, my classmate and chairman of the committee, was discussing the contract with Brandon Peacock at the time. I saw the tentative contract. It mentioned a deposit of $500 and the amount at the bottom of the balance showed an approximate amount of $2,625. I told Mr. Peacock that I would bring the deposit amount. He was okay that we pay as we go along, but the remaining balance would be due at least two weeks before the actual event. Thus, on March 2nd, I arrived at Eve's Waterfront to hand over a cashier's check in the amount of $650. Unfortunately, they were not opened. To the left of the entrance was a sign that said they were only opened on weekends for the winter season. The weekdays were for private parties. Last Saturday, on March 7, I arrived at Eve's to give them the cashier's check. Apparently Eve Malki, the owner, could not find Charles' name or the tentative contract. I mentioned that Brandon said it was okay that we could put a deposit and pay as we go along. She said no to me and that they don't do the pay as you go along. She even mentioned that if she accepted the check that I would have to pay the remaining balance within three days. Then she proceeded to tell me that there were at least 10 groups who wanted the same date for their event and they had cash and/or the funds up front. She gave her business card to me and said either Charles or I can email her. Nope, we do not intend to send her an email. In my opinion, and based on my experience and/or treatment that I received from her, I walked away. I was told two different things re: the contract. Needless to say, I was none too pleased and the woman done pissed me off. There was a lack of being accommodating and helpful. I decided to go elsewhere. Finally, if one is planning a special event of big significance, I recommend going elsewhere, as in Scott's Seafood. The contact person is Kelly, the catering manager, and a professional event organizer who has about 24 years of experience in that capacity. The other venue worth checking out is Waterfront Hotel. We had a reservation for six and was seated immediately but before that, the hostess tries to correct a guest on how to pronounce their own name after butchering it. Should have walked away then. The wings were ok, flavorless but crunchy and the temperature was good. The calamari was overly salted but were easy to eat and weren't tough and chewy. The cocktail was delicious and so was the fruit that arrived with our entrees. The entrees on the other hand were undercooked, burnt or cold. Bacon was undercooked. Pancakes were burned, tough, small and cold. Asked for butter and was expected to put ice cold butter on cold pancakes. Potatoes were swimming in grease. Scrambled eggs were not made with real eggs as requested and were overcooked. Fried egg was requested to be once over hard and the yolk was undercooked. Chicken sausage was undercooked. Creme brulee French toast was soggy and mushy and felt like pudding. I ate only the crust because I was hungry. Asked for another napkin. Twice. We were brought a napkin with food stuck to both sides. Asked for another napkin. Asked for a manager, she comes and I begin to explain the issues starting at one end of the table. Im explaining how the French toast was soggy and if its creme brulee why isn't it crispy or Toasted on the top, she says that how we make it except the pictures on the reviews say otherwise. I couldn't get to the other side of the table before she cuts me off, points her finger at me and tells me I'm being rude. I try to finish what I'm saying and tell her she cut me off. She was defensive, combative and super rude. So I cussed her out! I don't even have a chance to explain the issue without her getting loud and she says let me hurry up and get your check so you can leave. This was after she says, "What is it you want for me to do?" Simply put, we had no intention on paying for the entrees. We were willing to pay for the appetizers and drink. We tipped the server well and for an extra $20, I told her to tell the next table to eat somewhere else. Every party that walked thru the door we advised to RUN! And for anyone that is even contemplating visiting this place needs to reconsider. It's disgusting and the manager is even more disgusting. I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a few years, and was excited to be able to host my family here in celebration of Mother's Day! To my dismay, this was the worst restaurant selection, I am very disappointed in the service, cleanliness and food! The manager on duty was rude, defensive, combative and seemed as though she was on drugs! There was a busboy delivering food, with no knowledge of if the restaurant had condiments nor knew how to handle the food, place the food or even any context of what he delivered to the table. There was a server who delivered food to the table with visible drug tracts on her arm! There was no uniform or consistency in mask wearing! We ordered one thing and the food was delivered with different sides then what was listed on the menu, the waiter rolled her eyes when asked for butter for the bread, clam chowder bowls were dripping with soup on the outside of the bowl, we begged for steak sauce and other common condiments. Bread was served cold and 4 slices for a table of 6! The "owner" tried to right the wrongs of the establishment with complimentary champagne which was hard to enjoy since I'm the glasses were unclean! The owner explained that this place has not recovered from the pandemic and I sympathize with that sentiment, but if you are unable to get the talent to uphold the standards that comes with your reputation I recommend closing until ready! So bam we're seated in a nice secluded area large table, perfect for a birthday we don't have to worry about disturbing others. After 20 minutes no server. So my friend goes to speak to someone, turns out the server was responsible for two areas and "forgot" about our area. No biggie. Server comes over and immediately jumps into the kitchen closes at 2:30. OKAY we've waited for like 20 minutes with no service at all so whatever. Long story short the server was stressed out and rude. We requested a new server - the manager. Eve was wonderful all of our dishes were hot and arrived within a timely matter. We ordered the Moroccan wings, short ribs, Korean cauliflower. Which were all a hit I think the unexpected favorite was the Korean cauliflower. Like even the kids were eating it lol. The ribs were flavorful and tender. The wings were good too. My mom ordered from the prix fix menu end had braised beef and mashed potatoes. I was so jealous should have ordered. The meat was really tender and tasted so yummy. Like it exceeded all expectations. I really wanted the shrimp and grits but they were sold out, no biggie the creme brûlée French toast was just as good. Nice sweet & crunchy, We also had the unlimited mimosas which were very good. I don't remember ever seeing my champagne flute going below half full! The food itself was 3.5 stars. They do have a lot to offer! Prime Rib, Crab, Shrimp, Poke, Omelette Station, Waffles, Fried Chicken, Bacon, Pancakes, Fruit and a variety of desserts. Waterfront dining, great service and good company is what made our Sunday Brunch fun! We had 100 guests for our Non-profit's event on a Saturday evening. We informed the restaurant that we'd be setting up starting at 3:30pm. They had some lingering guests that should have all been out by 4pm, (though they weren't in the area we were setting up), but their staff didn't get around to setting up our 10 tables until 4:45 and our guests were arriving at 5. At 5pm we had to inform the staff to service their restrooms as the trash was full and there was no toilet paper. For a restaurant that was supposed to be able to accommodate 200 people, I felt they were ill-equipped to handle 100. The space between tables was hard for people to get around. They didn't put enough bread in the basket so each person could get one roll. Food didn't arrive at other tables until after many tables finished. Some tables, people had salad on dishes, and others had them in bowls. The bowls looked like they had 30% more salad! The salad was tasty. There were no separate forks for salad and entree. We had to be sure to keep our forks for the entree. Only good thing about that is that it's a greener practice, but we're talking about fancier dining here! I had Snapper which was very good. I was expecting it on rice but it was served on top of angel hair pasta. Lots of pasta, but not enough sauce (other patrons agreed) No veggies either. My husband had the steak which was okay and it came with 2 spears of asparagus and some small potatoes. By the time we had finished our entrees and had our plates cleared, some of the other tables were JUST getting their food. It almost seemed like they picked up our plates as fast as they could maybe to get them washed to use for the other tables?! For 30% of our guests, the wait for food was long! They have a sound system that we really enjoyed for more than half the evening. Mid-way though, their screens started glitching and lost connection with our playlist and powerpoint. Then their microphones made an annoying popping sound every few minutes which made people startle (kept them awake at least). We had some important presentation we wanted to show on the screen, but it couldn't be repaired until the evening was almost over (losing about 30 minutes of presentation). The staff/servers were all very responsive. The hot water/coffee thermoses were refilled promptly. Water glasses were refilled promptly. The bar folks were great. The view was beautiful. Other reviews with guests numbering around 50 have had a great time here. For our 100 guests, it was just okay. read more

We had dinner here tonight Eve welcomed us with a smile and seated us at the Bar. The service, food and views were phenomenal. Thank you Eve for making us feel right at home. My best to the chef for a job well done. Each of our meal selections were exceptional. We had; Calamari Clam Chowder Ceasars Salad Salmon with rice and Brussel Sprouts Short Ribs accompanied with awesome red peppers and mashed potatoes. Apple Crisp with cream and a smear of caramel sauce. Chocolate Molten Cale with Cream and Rasberry Sauce. The meal was accompanied buy a refreshing fine wine. Our visit was a wonderful experience. We dined here on a Sunday afternoon. I was with a group of 8 women ... celebrating birthdays. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful the space is. Abd the views are are amazing. We did wait a short bit to be seated. The hostess checked on us until the table was ready ... and we weren't disappointed ... with the seating. The waiter was nice and he did his best. The kitchen and bar were out of a lot of things. The kitchen was very good with accommodating to make up for the lack. The food was alright. I could nit pick but I won't. What I will say is that my food was inconsistent. I had the Cauliflower and the Wings. Some of my cauliflower were over breaded, making them very gummy. Some of my wings were fried harder than others. Inconsistent. Overall ... It's a beautiful location and it was a beautiful day. The staff was pleasant. But the food could have been better. read more
