They've been here far longer than I've lived here, but I found out about it when a documentary for Too Short was being filmed in the downtown-ish area between Telegraph and San Pablo ave. Located in downtown Oakland, near The Fox and the Paramont, this is my go to place for a yummy meal on the run. It's a walk up and she does take credit cards. There's a couple of bistro tables in front on the sidewalk but the smells on the sidewalk can at times (like today) be on the unpleasant side. It's a busy area with lots of folks roaming around so I've never felt unsafe but keep up your guard just in case.
