Clean restroom, clean restaurant. Friendly service. Latte was nothing special, but it tasted good and was reasonably priced. I ordered a croissant with spinach, onion, egg and mayo. It was delicious. I am not a Mayo person. But this blended in nicely. Restaurant has extra tables so you can spaciously enjoy your meal while working on your laptop. Or enjoying time with a friend. This local cafe is hands down one of my top 5 favorite spots in Oakland. My husband and I come here at least once a week, and my go to order is the California chicken sandwich (I always ask for no onions!). They serve the sandwich with homemade chili oil sauce *chef kiss*!!! If you're in the mood for it, I highly recommend the taro latte. Not only the food is delightful, but Jasmine and Richard are the other reason that keep us coming back. I love Cafe Uccello! The folks that work there are so nice and friendly and the food is terrific and the prices are more than fair for the quality and portion size! I love the turkey and the portobello mushroom panini (respectively). Their garlic potatoes are so delicious, my partner and I always have to get them when ordering food. We mostly come there for the delicious juices. My partner loves smoothies but hates bananas, which can be very limiting for him. Uccello has a big selection of banana-free options (and plenty with bananas, if desired). His favorites are the apri mango with chamoy spices (kind of like bebere/tagine spice) and the taro smoothies. The smoothies have milk, but the staff are more than happy to substitute with non-dairy milk. There are also chills, which are fruit juices blended with ice, which are perfect for hot days and lighter to drink. He also recommends the recovery juices for those days when he needs something more healthy feeling and restorative. We like hanging out here while waiting for May burritos next door. He'll get a delicious juice and I will sip on a Modelo while we wait. The ambiance is great for sitting around temporarily or longer, as I see folks camped out with their laptops and coffee. read more

The turkey sausage got to be house-made because it taste like love. This is a great atmosphere to get some work done. They have a large sitting area that gives a homey feel with markers to write on the wall. I definitely made the right choice of where to have breakfast today and in the future because I will be back! That little side of chili oil they give you, do not overlook it... even though the food doesn't need it, it pairs extremely well with the burger and fries! Had to come back and give these fish n' chips a try and man they give you everything to pair well with this dish from tartar sauce, to fresh lemons, & to the malt vinegar! The cookies smelled stale. The latte wasn't made with quality espresso. It tasted like Folgers and cheap creamer in a cup. The avocado bagel was barely toasted. The turkey bacon, egg sandwich didn't even have turkey bacon in it it was Turkey deli meat. I wouldn't eat here again. read more

I came back here to try some of their food and a smoothie. Portobello panini: this is unfortunately the only vegetarian panini that they offer, so I went for it. It was pretty good overall; I liked the cheese and the condiments inside. It comes with a side of chili oil. When you take out the sticks, the insides tend to fall out though, especially the onions and the portobello since it's more slippery. I'm not really a fan of portobello though, so I hope they come up with different vegetarian protein options for the future. Sali matcha smoothie: it honestly tastes very similar to the honey matcha latte except with a slightly thicker and less liquid consistency, and no ice cubes. But this isn't a bad thing, it did taste good. I wasn't able to figure out what fruits they put in it since it was mostly overshadowed by the matcha. They have a lot of yummy food and drink options, so I definitely recommend it for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. read more

Smoked salmon was tasty . They weren't shy with stuffing my bagel I was very satisfied! Was even able to eat the other half a little later since it was so huge ! My second time ordering delivery I got the crab melt panini ! I was able to add avocado and portobello mushroom which was a thick nice piece ! So yummy . Also got bacon on the side and it was plenty and crispy . Oh my goodness ! First it came still warm which is highly appreciated. It's totally different when you're getting a bagel and having cold meat versus a hot sandwich . So happy it came warm still . The bread was perfect ! Toasted just right and wasn't soggy by the time it got here . Crab meat was again real crab meat .I can just tell that this place takes pride in using fresh high quality ingredients. Latte & regular coffee: I thought the latte and regular coffee was too sweet. I prefer to add my own sugar but they add the cream and sugar for the customers. Unfortunately it tasted like coffee candy. It was unbearably sweet so I threw my coffee out. Breakfast sandwich: order the ham, egg, and cheese croissant.
