Summer Pizza
Alyssa S.

This food is delicious! We came for a late lunch and ate the chicken pesto pizza (5/5), prosciutto pizza (5/5) and the pizza special Summer Pizza (5/5) and the fettuccine Alfredo pasta (5/5). *We ordered the summer pizza that was on special but we were served the prosciutto. The chef apologized and stated he would make us the pizza we ordered. Needless to say, the service was great! We sat outdoors in their outdoor patio area. There was a nice Spring breeze and people walking by. Overall, great food and great service! We are stuffed. But we'll be back to try the coffee and desert next time.

I stopped into this little mom-and-pop Italian café and ordered the Caffe chiave Breakfast Hash -- crispy potatoes, smoky bacon, sweet bell peppers all topped with a perfectly fried egg. On the side, I had a caffè fantasia with caramel that was the perfect balance of rich and sweet. Everything here is made to order, and one of my favorite parts was being able to watch them prep meals fresh in the open kitchen while I waited. It really adds to the charm and makes the whole experience feel authentic. The Bay Area is known for being farm-to-fork, and this spot captures that completely. Fresh ingredients, cozy atmosphere, and warm service. A true hidden gem -- I'll definitely be back!

Special Panini - Tuna Melt

The tuna melt was so good! The celery mixed in gave it the perfect crispness and the side of fries included was also really good. Never thought pickles would complement the dish so well, but it was a pretty good composition. Service was good. Was able to grab a a quick lunch and ample seating.

I come here 3-5x a week for my coffee fix. The staff are all wonderful and lovely. They truly make everyone feel at home! All of the food is made freshly to order. It's such a comfortable place to be, tons or regulars, and they sell beer and wine. What more could you ask for? Oh yes, they let me bring in my own reusable mug.

I come to study here consistently and love how affordable and homey this cafe is. I always get a pot of tea which goes for $3.75. I get multiple cups of tea out of it and they're quick to bring it out. The pasty I got today was so yummy and not too sweet which I really appreciate. It's picture in the post!! It's amazing and the blueberries were sweet and not tart. Staff is really kind to me always. I really love it here :)

Cast iron frittata

Location is casual local cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Great for study and casual meet up. Service is more of self service with cleaning up after yourself despite the tip culture. Food is great with variety of pastries and sweets. Drinks are larger than other coffee shops. There are some seasonal specialties like cast iron frittata, delicious and worth to come back.

Cute place! Came on a weekday late morning and was decently busy but there was still some seating inside. Looked like a spot where some real regular OGs come and catch up. Couldn't figure out the Wi-Fi so I ended up just using my hotspot. Little to no outlets available if you're looking for them. My americano was good and they toasted the spinach feta mushroom croissant I got but was cold by the time it got to me. Still tasty regardless! They had more food options so I'll keep this place in mind for a breakfast / lunch with a friend, just not as a place to work.

Avocado toast

Came here for breakfast mostly because it was the only thing open and was super disappointed. I don't know why they say there's vegan options bc there are none.. I decided to get the avocado toast with eggs on the side to give to my friend. It came with a side of home fries so I thought it would be filling enough but it was the saddest thing ever. Barely any avocado, no seasonings, and the smallest amount of potatoes. I was so hungry that I didn't take pics before eating. In the picture I had to add the seasonings (they had pepper and salt on the table), there was NOTHING before that, just sad slices of avocados on toast and barely any potatoes (I probably ate three pieces before taking the picture). And even though it was disappointing for me being vegan, my friends were also disappointed with their food (breakfast burrito and California bagel). The coffee was okay at least

OK... I know I should have known better than to order a Matcha Latte in an Italian cafe, but I was really feeling tea at the time. Given this place has the perfect combination of proximity and long(er) hours than other cafes, I think there's something about the baristas that prevents it from being one of my regular go-tos for me. I can't put my finger on it. This last time, I felt a bit questioned as I place my order, if that makes any sense. Also minor detail, I somehow don't have great feelings for the card processor that doesn't display the total, making tipping a bit less convenient for me, lol. Anyways, this particular visit, I decide to get a matcha latte and tiramisu. Tiramisu, no question, is fluffy and just decadent. Matcha latte, on the other hand, is tasteless. I go back to the counter and ask for more matcha - they pleasantly agree (to my relief, thought I'd get the eyebrows). However, the didn't help much, not surprisingly it's a pre-made mix. However, I would say that the outdoor seating is very advantageous for this place given the pandemic times. They have both a front AND back patio, with a good amount of tables and chairs in total. Also, it's somewhat dangerous(?) near the evening when your neighbors order a hot dish. Goodness, I cannot still forget the smell of pasta that time!

We went mainly for drinks and tried a latte, tiramisu latte, and a Spanish latte. The tiramisu latte and Spanish latte were both really good and definitely my favorites. Smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. You can tell the coffee quality is solid. We also tried the matcha drinks in vanilla and strawberry. I liked the strawberry matcha more. It comes unsweetened, so I asked for it to be sweetened and it was great after that. The vanilla matcha was fine too, just not my top pick. They're also dropping a new Ramadan drink soon, a date latte, which sounds really good and I'll probably come back just to try that. Overall, great drinks and a nice place to hang out.

I loved the ambiance, it felt we was in another country. The place was packed I have no idea where everyone parked haha. Very hard to find parking. The Adeni Chai I had was wonderful and I would get again. The lemon pastries I had were good & I would possibly get again. Both cheese pastries & meat pocket I didnt care for so much. I undetstand they are an acquired taste but me being Middle Eastern we have our own versions and I think that's why I didn't like as much. I would definitely go back and try more sweet pastries. They had a large selection I couldn't try them all haha. I would love to try more tea and coffee options as well. Go and try out several different pastries and discover what you like. It's cheaper than buying an airplane ticket to try another countries culture and delights. They also have outside seating which is especially nice on a beautiful day. Pro tip: take an Uber if you can. Parking is hard to get.

Because of the location, I'm often hesitant to go by myself since I don't know the parking situation. So when I had my mom drive for me to run in, there were actually like 2 open spots in front--metered parking. It was empty when I went in but after ordering, I notice most people picking up their items to go. So while this place doesn't seem like a spot to hang out and work out of (even though there are counter seatings facing the window), it seems more of a take out/delivery kind of spot. I spoke to Russel, who was very helpful with my order, suggest that next time if I wanted any of the pandan drinks, I'd have to order early as they sell out. Perhaps I should have gotten one right then and there but I needed my caffeine fix, so I got their most popular coffee drink: HANOI EGG COFFEE - $8 Vietnamese coffee topped with their specialty egg cream. I rarely see any egg coffee so I knew this was my chance! Before mixing the egg cream, I appreciate how this literally tastes like iced Vietnamese coffee--bold and strong coffee flavor, with the rich and sweet taste from the condensed milk. Add that custard-like topping made it even better--yay protein! I appreciate that this comes as a hot beverage too as an option! I love that they have a nice selection of unique pastries, but it seems they have already sold out on some items. So here's what I got to try: MOCHI BITES - $4 each I got both available flavors: BLACK SESAME and THAI TEA. They both have a wonderful chewy texture that I expect in a mochi muffin, and you really taste the flavors. I highly recommend! PANDAN COCONUT CROISSANT - $6 So nice of them to offer to heat it up. This flaky pastry has a pandan with shredded coconut filling..which if you are like me, I don't care for anything coconut in shredded form. But I'm such a sucker for anything with pandan, haha. Overall not bad though! UBE POUND CAKE - $5.50 This tiny pound cake didn't have much of an ube flavor, but it ain't dry! It was moist and not too sweet. It was thoroughly enjoyed! I really hope to come back and try their other pastries and drink selections. I love how they decorated their shop, have cool merch to sell, and and appreciate how personal they made my first visit here. Thanks so much House of Phin, happy 2 year anniversary!

Some many items to choose from, the person taking my order was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of drinks and pastries. Ordered the Ginger Honey Jobani as a hot drink, Biscoff Milkcake, Honeycomb, and a Beef Fatayer. There were several kinds of milkcakes which would have the texture like a tres leches cake. The Honeycomb had pockets of cream cheese and was drizzles with honey. The Meat Fatayer is like an empanada. The food and drink were very tasty.
