Ordinaire continues to be exquisite with unparalleled deals! I tried the meat option yesterday and good gracious, the salami was spectacular. I love their outside seating is so fun, especially with the nice weather!

Today was the absolutely best weather we've had in a long time. I was eager to find somewhere cute and quaint to enjoy a glass of wine while wrapping up the walk with my dog. Ordinaire had a friendly lady serving the wine glasses who was very helpful in suggesting a good glass when I gave her my preferences. They allow dogs inside while you order and have a cute picturesque parklet outside for you to sit with your doggo afterwards. Will be back!

I only took a few videos of the interior so will leave those out of my review This is a wonderful wine shop! So many interesting wines about. Nothing you'll find at big box store in the city. Non traditional producers. I would come here to buy wines again. Not a fan of their cheese plate but I mean the wine definitely makes up for it. Customer Service is laidback I would say great but they were friendly enough. Check it out for sure

Really lovely wine bar on a fun, busy area of Oakland. The people behind the bar were friendly and knowledgeable for providing recommendations to your taste. I loved how non-pretentious the vibe was! My party sat outside and enjoyed a few bottles and charcuterie boards. The bottles that our friends ordered were super reasonably priced as well, in the 30s and 40s. The interior atmosphere is so charming and would be wonderful for a casual date in an intimate setting. The cheese and meat board comes with a soft cheese, hard cheese, meat terrine, sliced salami, and sliced bread. All for $20 which was fair! The toasted bread slices were an interesting flavor profile, but I think we would have preferred some baguette or crostini material for some additional crunch/texture. Still, it was quite yummy! There are some other lounges/wine bars on the same street so I would definitely come back to enjoy drinks on a night out in Oakland.

    Um, Ordinaire.

Wanted to love it. Liked it. Can't get them for false advertising because the wines were definitely ordinaire. It was crowded so it is beloved by lots of people. I just felt like I was drinking an "ok" glass of wine out of an "ok" glass. I've probably been spoiled by the experience at Bay Grape. If I hadn't been there, this would be a four star place.

This is not just based on the photo I am sharing from Ordinaire website and the experience of today. I have been here in the past and just didn't feel very welcome. I came in on Christmas Eve because Bay Grape website listed them closing at 4. I went to Ordinaire website and it clearly said they close at 6 on Dec 24. The problem is not that they were closing. At 4:15 the guy was closing the blinds and I asked if they were closing. I was thinking the closed at 6 since their website said that. He said. Yea. You can grab a bottle and go tho. I told him it said online the close at 6 and his response was "well I'm a real human". I guess that's reasonable if your trying to be rude. Point being. I get it. It's Christmas Eve. Please tell the real human that updates your website to talk to the real human that manages this store and tell the real humans who work there that real humans shop there. Just not this one. Please take your business to Bay Grape

    Welcome to the neighborhood.

We appreciate Ordinaire's attention to detail. Wines by the glass, either on tap and out of the bottle, with an amazing selection of local and European varietals for purchase. It's nice to now have a local, one-stop shop for wine. We paired various white and red wines with a delicious selection of cheese and meats . . . and had a good time talking about wine with Bradford and his staff.

A great by the glass option

They have 2 types of service options, if you decided to enjoy wine in their establishment. You can either order a $20 wine flight (Which comes with 3 glasses) or buy a bottle and they will uncork for you to enjoy there. They had about 1 to 2 options for 4 wine type of choices located on a card. We went with the flight. I had questions because I am a Cab and Malbec girl and in their Reds area, nothing adds even close to it. When the male employee spoke to me, he had a bit of sarcasm coming off. I didn't understand why because my questions were valid. He was short with his answers as if he did not want to talk to me. After this, he poured our drinks. I questioned the amount because it was very very very little bit. When I spoke with that same guy, he stated "What you expect..a whole glass of wine at $20 for 3?" I told him that I expected a little more love half a glass. He was like "It says on the card that it is 2.5 oz". I looked at the card because I knew that was nowhere on there. So I informed him that the size was not in the card and that is something that they should put because what we received was not worth $20 and that we could have purchased a bottle. That's how they get people. That flight is a total rip off!! Also, he put the drinks all on front of us, but did not tell us which was which, who's was for who nor personally give it to us. There were no little signs to inform us of what we were drinking. We had to ask him because he had walked off. He came over and was confused as you which was which as well. We received no water and we weren't even asked. Both employees were consumed with another person who was there (Business) and wine tasting and talking that we just weren't that relevant to ensure that our needs were fully met. Wine tasting: All 3 of the wines I had was disgusting. The one of the Reds that I had, stated it was bold. It was not. I had a Bubble (Orange) and it was horrible. Like all of them were cheap wines with no real packed flavor. The female employee or owner (I'm unsure) asked ONLY my friend what she thought of the wine. She never bothered to ask me which was really unprofessional. Neither of them ever introduced themselves or gave their names although we indicated that this was our 1st visit. Not very personable. This was a total waste of money and time for an experience. Wet had to go and find another place to get an enjoyable experience at.

But thinking about it sine Wine & Waffles closed years ago it may be the only wine bar left in Alameda. Yes, restaurants and bars serve wine but not the same thing. Lemon Drop came in 2nd on the list and they are hardly a wine bar. (No shade LD. You do great for who you are). Service was great and the lady who brought us all the goods was pleasant.
