Delah Coffee is a local gem that I love supporting! Located off the busy intersection of Grand Ave, this cafe offers a variety of Yemeni/middle eastern drinks and pastries. There are plenty of open seats inside, which is great for spending time with friends, reading a book or studying. I tried a few things this time - the Biscoff latte which is new, the pistachio and rose croissant, the milk cake, and the spinach and cheese turnover. Beginning with the latte, it actually wasn't too sweet and the Biscoff gave the coffee a light richness that wasn't overpowering. The milk cake is soft and practically melts in your mouth. The croissant goes well with the pistachio and rose filling. Lastly, the spinach and turnover is light, baked to golden perfection, and is the perfect size to share. I ended up getting the shy habibti and was more than satisfied. It provided a burst of strawberry with a hint of coconut. I would most definitely get it again. Also I got this egg cheese tomato situation that had the perfect flaky, yet soft breaded pastry taste. I love this cafe because it's always clean and has a calm ambiance even when it's crowded. Can't go wrong with a Turkish experience. Once I walked in, the display of sweets and food was calling my eye. Customer service was fast and friendly, with no complaints. I love this place. I crave good coffee shops that make me *crave* their coffee, that make you want to drive hours upon hours to get a cup of joe even though I physically cannot sustain that. Which is to say I'm sad they're so far from me, but anyone within range of Delah needs to hike up here immedietly. Having had a regular black and their Pistachio Latte, both are absolutely wonderful things that eat most lower tier coffee shops for breakfast. Like this is the tier that Blue Bottle is in, and Blue Bottle doesn't have nearly as many pastries/baked goodies or the space for such a cozy chillax atmosphere. If you love pistachio, Delah is the perfect spot for you! After months of hearing great things I finally caught the opportunity to check it out and I was not disappointed. This was my first experience at a Yemeni coffee shop, and I was charmed by the beautiful interior and smell of delicious pastries and turnovers wafting through the air. Very IG-worthy, if you're like me and agree that the camera eats first. The ambiance is cozy and the cafe is spacious, so it's a great place to get work done. I love the big windows that let in tons of sunlight and allow for me to people watch while I sip on my latte. Speaking of which, my friend and I both opted for the iced pistachio latte. It was on the sweeter side (next time I'll ask for it to be adjusted), but so yummy nonetheless. I love how full bodied and layered the latte tasted. My friend agreed that each sip felt like having a different drink every time but in the best way. Sooo good! We also got a cheesecake and chicken turnover which were great as well. The location is pretty good. It's in the heart of downtown Oakland near many other establishments. There is mainly street parking available for this shop but there is a parking structure and a BART station nearby. At night, it's decently lit up. My favorite thing was their hours. While most other coffee shops in the area seem to close around 6 or 7, this place was still open! By far one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had. It tasted like it was made with love. It had a slight flavor distinction that was different from any other that I have tasted. It was just the right amount of warm, not too hot and not too cold. The portions were an average size. The service was speedy and the seating area was full of people working on their laptops. The prices are about average for a 2025 Bay Area coffee shop. My husband and I stopped in to have a coffee after eating at Halal Guys. Their coffee went great with the sweet Baklava from across the street. Although we'd never been before, I was pleasantly surprised by all the sweets they had in the shop. I'll definitely have to try some of their Baklava next time we are near by. I don't write many reviews but I had to on this one. Waited literally an hour for 4 drinks between ordering and waiting for order just to get all 4 drinks wrong. As I waited for my drinks I watched and listened as 3 people ahead of me tell the barista that their orders were also wrong. (All 3 just took what they were given and left). As I tried to say that the drinks were not what I ordered, they just kept pointing to the order screen and not saying anything. I talked to a friend of mine who came here last week and he said he had almost the exact same experience. As for the drinks they look good but at this time I haven't tried mine yet. I just took what they gave me and left. If your training and learning how to do things I get it I've been there but don't just put what you think someone ordered if you don't know just confirm with the customer. read more

A Beautiful coffee shop. I had the jubani and it doesn't come with milk but I asked for it with milk. The coffee was piping hot. I had to wait a good while before it was safe to sip. I could smell and taste the cardamom, ginger and cinnamon. The pistachio milk cake was nothing like I've had before. It tastes like a pistachio tres leches cake. The bitterness of my coffee really mellowed out the sweetness of the cake. This was my first time getting Arabic coffee, I didn't know it would come piping hot so it wasn't the easiest to drink. This review comprises two different visits. The first time, I bought a slice of chocolate cheesecake, and a slice of kunafa cheesecake. They also sold pistachio and lotus flavors. I thought they were fine, I liked the chocolate better than the kunafa, but not mindblowing in all the cheesecakes I've ever tried. The second time, I ordered a Too Good to Go discount surprise bag. I was rather surprised that the worker helping me just put the pastries directly into a takeout bag that looks like a gift bag, without putting the pastries into any smaller bags or wax paper (which is what I've typically encountered with any place that sells baked goods). However, pickup was quick, and I was given three big croissant-like pastries, all three of them had ample amount of almonds and possibly pistachios on them, and two of them had chocolate. I don't like croissants and similar flaky pastries normally, but these were so covered with other ingredients such as nuts that I really liked them since it made it more interesting flavor and texture wise. The chocolate was generous and tastes gooey if you warm up the pastry. I think one of them may have had Nutella/hazelnut in them. Delah Coffee is open late and has space to sit and work, and I hope to come back sometime to try more of the drinks. read more

Yemen was the place where coffee was first cultivated for commercial sales, which eventually helped contribute to coffee being spread to the rest of the world. With that much history, the coffee at a Yemen cafe has to be good! ORDER: Yemini Latte ($7.02) - Delah's signature drink which has the flavors of cinnamon, cardamom, and honey. The drink is available hot or iced, but I got it iced. I really enjoyed the spices in the Yemeni Latte, but as a fair warning, the drink is on the sweeter side by default. No worries though because you can choose to adjust the sweetness of the drink. SUMMARY: Other than individual drinks, Delah also offers pots of coffee and tea drinks that come with a candle heater and mini cups that you can share with your friends at the cafe.
