I rarely eat meat but when I do it must be amazing. This is a cute little burger joint that serves smash burgers and ice cream treats. It is clean delicious and filled with art. May I say that the service was great? It was. If you're newr the courthouse or OPD HQ tjis is super convenient.

My partner found this location after we swam in the area. We arrived and both the exterior and interior are quite aesthetically pleasing, sleek and very clean. The color palette is so nice. We got two smashburgers and fries fried in tallow and the smashburgers were satisfying but not as flavorful as other smashburger places. The service was fast and informative and the retro feel is appealing. I feel the ice cream and cookies are far more popular than the burgers though so we have to try that next time.

I sampled almost all of their flavors and there was a common theme: I thought the flavors were unique and excellent, but the ice cream itself was a bit mediocre. The ice cream tasted too watery (i.e. lacking consistency & texture) and the sweetness felt uneven. The guy working at the counter was super nice though and it has a clean and sleek interior. 3.7/5

Wow. Their smash burgers and fries are GOOD! I ordered the old town western (and tried some of the okie onion, which was also great) and split a side of hot fries. My burger came with patties that were both caramelized and juicy, crispy fried onion, two strips of bacon, american cheese, and house bbq sauce. This was definitely a "cheat meal" type of burger with how heavy the ingredients are, but dang, was this delicious. The fries had cajun seasoning on them and were excellent too! Next time I'll try their Asian inspired ice cream flavors if I have room for dessert. Seating is a bit limited but there is parking outside so this is a good spot for to-go orders. Service and food were quick on a Sunday night. I'll be back!

Such good ice cream forgot to even take pictures of what we got! Came in and while busy with people there was no line so got our order quick. Tasted a few samples and ending up getting a Single Scoop and 1 Sundae

WHEN: Sun @12:15pm Just finished an early lunch so it was natural to walk on over to the ice scream shop that used to be Cookiebar when I last came here: Lana's. Now I'm feeling regret that I did not do lunch here as well because they serve burgers too! But with my full belly, decided to go for: SMALL ICE-CREAM - $6.50 I get up to 2 flavors, which I went for BLACK SESAME and VIETNAMESE COFFEE. Oh boy did I choose right because it was both a great combo and yummy flavors as their own! They offer seatings both inside and outside, but we walked to this lower level area to eat. Ice-cream here really is good, and they have such amazing and unique flavors.

Time for an updated Review obviously!! Today is 8/25/25! So first off I love this place! Great music! Great staff! Shout out to John for always hooking it uppppp!!! My favorite things to get here are the Chicken Sandwich which is equally crunchy as it is delicious with that home made ranch dressing to take it over the top! I love the Hot Tots! Emphasis on the TOTS! Okuuuurrrr! You need to get those! And thirdly their Grasshopper ice cream! What can I say!? YUM! My hubs and I pretty much frequent this place whenever we can't figure out what to eat because we know it's always gonna be delicious! So glad Lana's came around and turned into a local ice cream parlor/ joint for super delicious grub!

Chicken sandwich was good, very juicy and tender. Wanted to sit and enjoy it, but not much seating in the inside. Huge plants are a nice touch but take up much space . Decent selection of ice-cream to enjoy on a nice day. Staff was friendly.

Lana's in Oakland makes a delicious Western BBQ smash burger with crispy onions and bacon! I wasn't expecting such a delicious burger from a place that mostly serves ice cream and shakes but also happens to specialize in crispy yummy smash burgers. I devoured my Smash burger and fries which were fried in tallow and didn't leave enough room for ice cream. The staff is friendly and pack in the flavor with large portions. But the vibes and the food were so good, I can't wait to come back and try this place again. I've heard that this has been an Oakland staple for a while now and I totally see why. Located in downtown Oakland's historic old Oakland area there is plenty of street parking and lot a block way. Add this restaurant to your list when you're in the mood for some burgers shakes, fries and homemade ice cream.

Now that I've had the burgers the chicken sandwich the ice cream there and packed to go - the cookies - ALL OF EVERRRRRYTHING! Yum. That is all I can say! YUM! Everything was satisfying. Love how we can casually walk in - line up and order a meal and then later grab a dessert! Such cutesy vibe too! The fries and tots are better without the extra seasoning - so grab them plain! Their ice cream is yummy creamy and their chicken sandwich was moist and seasoned well! Really didn't have a thing to complain about. I always add Lana's as an option when thinking about grabbing a bite and they are so unsuspecting that it has become one of our faves.

Literally stopped by Lana's by pure accident! I was heading to a coffee shop to work for a while and couldn't find parking. I saw a young lady going to her car and I asked if she was leaving. She said, "Yes, after I get my ice cream." I said, "What ice cream? Where?" She replied, "Lana's!" and pointed to the store a few doors up. Coffee shop plans abandoned! I wandered into the ice cream shop (after becoming an expert thanks to Yelp, of course lol) and was greeted by Diego. I had a few flavor questions and Diego invited me to try a few. I decided on the oatmeal cookie and the banana oreo. DEElicious! Ice cream is scratch made in house, using full fat milk. How Lana's mastered the texture between soft serve and firm...I'd pay for the secret! I think I ordered the wrong cookie (meant to get a toffee cookie) but mine tasted like chocolate with a lovely finishing salt on top. I started texting my friends asking had they been to Lana's and if not, get here neowww! Diego said the food items are good as well. As I was leaving a saw a few diners eating burgers and I asked if there were good. Both turned around with jaws full and gave me a double things up with a nod. I'll be back again, Diego!

Visited this place randomly bc the reviews online are pretty good. We had it to go, the area wasn't the best. But it's such a cute little restaurant! Food is decent here, service is nice staff are helpful. Will visit again if in this area.

This burger joint gives the perfect old school vibe. It is so cute and retro and the decorations make you feel like you're in a different time period. I came on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. There was a good amount of people waiting for food and others were getting ice cream. It was about a 15-minute wait for a deluxe burger, okie onion smash, and hot tots. The burgers were great! They were juicy and cooked to perfection. Pairing it with ketchup and ranch gives it extra flavor. The hot tots are seasoned with different spices and they were a little over seasoned to me. I had to dust some off with napkins to better enjoy it. But they were crispy and delicious! I can't wait to come back!

Great burgers; especially the Okie which had great flavor. The ice cream rocks too. Vietnamese Coffee milkshake is a must as well.

The fish burger was crispy yet juicy and savory. The bun was soft, but not bready. Not a fillet-o-fish sandwich, but it stood on its own and the portion was enormous! What can I add about the A+ burger that has not already been said? It's the complete burger...and the fried eggplant is its secret weapon! Thankfully I was hungry when I ordered it because by the time I took my last bite, I was extremely full, yet satisfied! And I MUST add that the service here is exemplary! Courteous does not begin to explain how nice the order taking experience was for me as a customer. It was nice, accommodating, and genuine. I love this level of service. Washed down a side a French fried bean with a cold Coke. What a meal!

What I don't understand is why I'm charged an additional $2.50 for the lettuce wrap when I'm not even getting the bun. If you're taking something away, what's the justification for adding an extra charge? I could understand a modest upcharge, but $2.50 for a few leaves of lettuce is hard to justify. I can buy an entire head of lettuce for about that price. What bothered me even more was that no one mentioned the charge when I placed my order. It wasn't until I picked up my food and saw the receipt that I realized I had been charged extra. Customers deserve to know about additional charges before they order, not after the fact. When I politely asked why there was a $2.50 charge, the employee simply looked at me and said, "I don't know." There was no explanation, no offer to ask someone else, and no attempt to address a perfectly reasonable question. That level of customer service was just as disappointing as the surprise charge. The burger was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don't plan on coming back. Or maybe I'll just bring my own lettuce next time. Better yet, just give me the burger without the bun, and I'll wrap the damn thing myself when I get home.

And it's been satisfying and well worth it all three times. I recommend both dining in and delivery. You cannot go wrong with their double burger. The smashed patties are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The supporting elements are quality and executed spot-on each time: the cheese, grilled onions, and mayo. It's a perfect fast casual burger. I also recently tried the Chopped Beef burger and dang it was amazing. The hearty meat and cheese the and buttery bread texture hit hard. This will be another go-to and I recommend it. For sides I've gotten tator tots, regular fries, and season fries. All fantastic and they're generous with the portions. HOWEVER -- you've gotta get the seasoned fries. Addictive and finger-licking amazing. When dining in staff is always friendly. Area's not too busy and you'll always find parking easily down a side street. And price wise it honestly feels like a steal for me given the care and quality and pure satisfaction. Works for me though -- I'm going to keep ordering from this place. First of all, my order was TO-GO. And let me tell you... when I got home and opened that bag, I was honestly blown away. My food was packaged with so much care, precision, and pride--it was neat, organized, and handled like it actually mattered. That alone told me everything about the level of service in that building. Candalen--YOU DID THAT. The attention to detail on my plate did not go unnoticed. You treated my food like it was being served in-house, and that speaks volumes about your work ethic and pride in what you do. Aaron--listen... that peach lemon drop??? BABY. That was my first time trying one and it was EVERYTHING. Smooth, flavorful, perfectly balanced--you made that drink an experience all by itself. I will be back JUST for that. And let's talk about the vibe--the music, the energy, the atmosphere--it all came together in a way that made the entire visit feel GOOD. Not just food... a whole experience. But what really stands out is this: It has been a LONG time since I've experienced service this genuine, this intentional, and this excellent. Not rushed, not careless--EXCEPTIONAL. Management, if you are reading this--please understand--you have some powerful people on your team. Candalen and Aaron are the kind of employees that elevate a brand. They are the reason people come back. They are the reason I will be telling others. This wasn't just a good experience. This was the kind of experience that turns customers into loyal supporters. I will absolutely be back--and I will be bringing people with me. Until next time, WUHAPN NATION

Finally, we were so excited to see it was open on a Saturday an we came in for lunch. To order you need to scan the QR code and pay plus tip before a single person spoke to us or offered us service. From the menu we saw they were out of beef ribs, smoked chicken, rib tips, no peach cobbler, no banana pudding and no kool aid. I come for their brisket and my friend loves ribs so we went ahead and ordered combo plates to share. Mine was the brisket with a side of collard greens, she had the pork ribs, a hotlink with a side of Mac-n-cheese, & cornbread. For drinks we had lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few months but the quality of the food, the service and the expectation to pay and tip up front were very disappointing. The greens, Mac cheese, brisket and ribs were cold. The hotlink wasn't BBQ'ed it was pan fried. Everything tasted like warmed up leftovers and we will not return. For 2 of us to eat it came to $100 and we were not satisfied. The dining room is an attractive space, it was completely empty. The staff was unclear about what we ordered, had to be told to bring our drinks, bartender is also working as server and apologized for his uncertainty. I suggest this restaurant hire and train more staff if they intend to keep their doors open.
