Prime seats after enjoying our Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream.

Ordered a single scoop of the Matcha flavored ice cream which hit the spot. I'm not usually one to stop and grab a scoop here as it is pricey at almost $7 for a single but wanted to enjoy the end of our outing and watch the last minutes of the FIFA match between Columbia and Ghana. Service was great as I had to ask for 4 sample flavors before choosing the Matcha!

Always have a good experience at Humphry's! Hong Kong Milk tea, Black Fog, Honey graham on a waffle are some favorites. Cute artsy interior with some tables. Dude who worked there was super nice and gave me a few extra stamps on my card!

We stopped by for some ice cream after the movie. The staff was very friendly, and there was a great selection of flavors to choose from!

I haven't had Humphry Slocombe in years so I was excited to see a location when we were in Emeryville. They're located upstairs near Barnes and Noble by the other eateries. I loved all their unique flavors! Secret Breakfast is a must, you can't get that flavor anywhere else. I do wish they would include the flavor descriptions on the names because some of the names aren't super descriptive to the flavor itself. I also tried Matcha Strawberry but it was actually disappointing. Pretty color but the matcha flavor was non existent. Otherwise it's a nice specialty ice cream shop to try some unique flavors (I should've tried the honeydew!).

It was my first time at Humphry, and it was an experience. I love good ice cream and unique flavors. Humphry reminds me of salt and straw. They have some fun flavors and taste great. The service was amazing, the person behind the counter was friendly and told us all the different flavor blends. The inside is a cozy ice cream store.

Yummy for my tummy, my daughter and I screamed for ice cream! Despite the chilly breeze, we stopped by to satisfy our sweet tooth ice cream cravings! Friendly and patient staff. I felt bad that there was only person working the counter, taking orders, making the orders and managing the register. He did a great job bouncing around tasks, even changing gloves after every transaction! The eating area was well kept and not sticky. They had limited flavors (we came late in the afternoon), but enough to please most.

It's been a few weeks and I'm still thinking about that scoop of Vietnamese ice cream coffee.. I really dnt like coffee ice cream but I love anything about Vietnamese ice coffee.. I didn't have high expectations for it at all.. I sampled two other flavors and made this bay last choice and it was more than I could have ever imagined.. the service was an amazing .. they who helped us was fast friendly efficient and had a lot of patience for our group.. the end of the night rush he did a great job of getn everyone in and out..my sister got a ice cream out the freezer so she was able to skip the line which is a good option and made the line move faster.. the smell of freshly made cones filled the store.. there was a lot of seating in the store but since this location is on bay st u have the option of sitting outside.. I'm ready for my next visit I wanna try the Vietnamese ice coffee with some of the burbon caramel.. and figure out whose birthday we can get an ice cream cake for.. definitely add this place to my list if go to ice cream shop..

After dinner, I enjoyed a much-needed treat: SF Fog sundae. After trying a few flavors, I was set on the SF Fog, because the black sesame ice cream is unmatched! It was somewhat sweet, nutty, earthy, and smoky all at once. These flavors were topped with a smooth marshmallow cream and bourbon caramel. Everything came together to create an epic dessert! Our cashier was warm, patient, and friendly. I'll definitely make sure to stop in during my next visit to Oakland.

I came in and sampled a bunch of flavors, as the employee who helped me was patient and friendly Yellow brick road - golden milk ice cream with sunflower granola. It's interesting since the turmeric of golden milk is definitely more an acquired taste but I find it more tolerable as an ice cream. Malted milk chocolate - tastes like malt balls, not particularly unique but it's one of the tamer flavors. Allura - coconut lime and passionfruit, I thought it was alright, more tropical. It's a collab with a cruise line. Pepper mint chip - I didn't like it, but it's not too spicy. I would've liked it better with black pepper instead and more chocolate. It's the goat (not sure if I got the name right) - the habanero part made it a little spicy. I thought it was okay. I decided to get a single scoop of the yellow brick road in a cup. I thought the flavors were strange on the whole. I keep wanting to like Humphry Slocombe but I still prefer other ice cream shops in the east bay like Miharu, Cookiebar, and I-Scream on Solano.

A local Bay Area ice cream spot with many locations around the bay. Looking for some dessert or ice cream while around Bay Street in Emeryville, this is the spot. Open fairly late with both indoor and outdoor seating. There popular flavors are their Vietnamese coffee and cereal type of flavor. They have unique flavors and lots of options. I like to get mine sometimes on a cone or to share with a cup. There's parking garage parking in the area. Service was great, the worker was very patient with our group as we sampled many flavors. We went with like a mint one and I forgot the other and got 2 scoops and shared it.

My first time trying Vietnamese Coffee Ice Cream at the Bay Street location! I have been going to the Spark SF location for awhile since I'm in the city for Warriors. Location is on the 2nd floor, close to other restaurants, Bay street's food court level- there's stairs in the center but can take the escalator to the left side if you are walking past Tokyo Central as you exit the parking garage on the first level. I also love coffee flavors and this one was it! Loved it, subtle, not over powering, Vietnamese Coffee is really strong but Humphry did it right. You can have the option for Waffle cone that I got, sugar cone or cup, Also check out the seasonal items! I will be back!

Ice cream is pretty darn good. I love the unusual flavors. And the ice cream has a good texture. Today I got two scoops of something minty and one scoop of pumpkin. Service is always friendly. They let you try samples before buying. Clean comfortable dining area. All in all a good ice cream experience.

Waffle cone, black out ice cream, red velvet ice cream
    Wesley L.

After an intense shopping session, this was the perfect way to cool down. A consistent ice cream chain with unique flavors that will raise some eyebrows (for better or worse). The staff was super kind and helpful at explaining the different flavors. Sometimes the names aren't clear on what's actually inside (black out = Oreo and fudge, delicious by the way). It was oddly warmer inside so we opted for the outdoor patio shared by the other restaurants. Red velvet was also a hit with hints of buttercream frosting. Got a nice view of the sunset and a sweet treat to wrap the day up. A bit pricey, but worth it if there's a flavor that speaks to you or you're willing to try.

The moment you walk into the shop, you'll notice the current flavor offerings displayed on colorful ice cream-shaped signs across the wall to the right. I could spend an eternity studying each flavor, but there's limited space to queue indoors so really gotta decide on a flavor and serving style fast in order to keep the line moving. Among the flavors were some classics, fruity/floral mixes, and dessert-inspired ones too, a whole range so there's something for everyone. I got the Breakfast Brownie and it was unforgettable! It tasted creamy and delightful without being overwhelming, while the cornflakes mixed inside added a satisfying crunch to each bite. I came back a second time before a show at Crybaby, a smaller venue across the street. Grabbing a scoop here to-go has naturally become part of my pre-concert routine at this point and I plan to come back again next time to explore more flavors. If you're ever heading to a show nearby, I'd definitely recommend stopping by beforehand for a lil energy boost and treat.

Also, whoever they have making their flavors is super creative! They list out all the flavors on the wall on super cute little ice cream scoop cut outs for you to browse while you wait in line. It is definitely more of a takeout ice cream spot with not a ton of seating so you either gotta get lucky with seating, wait for a spot, or take it to go. We got the pandan strawberry and the milk & cookies + cream. Next time I stop by I really want to try out their sundae!

I was surprised that no one spoke of business specifics in their reviews. There is a limit to how many can come in; and you are not allowed to touch anything when inside. There are also no prices listed anywhere. We thought this was odd. Our order: * Personal Peach Cobbler * Walnut Brownie * Banana Pudding For these 3 items, our total was over $25. The service was friendly but a bit awkward. You are only able to see cases of dessert options, it is more of a pick-up point, not so much a bakery location you can browse. I wouldn't suggest coming as a large group, there is no where to sit to enjoy your baked goods and parking is very difficult. While the cobbler and banana pudding were good, I wasn't a fan of the brownie. My partner enjoyed the cobbler a lot, but when we did the calculations, the prices were astronomical. I'm not sure what gourmet difference the items contained, but we likely would not come back to this bakery considering prices and parking. The location is cute, in theory, but with no actual location or displays, or price lists- what you pay for doesn't balance out. The lack of transparency for prices was very sus to us. I'm sure the business will continue on especially with how much they charged. I can't imagine the bakery location and building rent costing a lot as far as operating costs; as it is small, and not expansive at all. The price of the baked goods doesn't even go towards branded packaging. Which could be understandable. The only beverages available that I seen was Nesquik. Steep prices with no justification - especially when you have other bakeries in the area, in addition to Nation's for Pies, very affordable and classic as well. E&J's has a great banana pudding and cobbler as well for $6- they are also a Black-owned business and family operated. Absolutely no bad intent, just wanting to share transparency in my review so Yelpers know that prices are not listed, which means they are subject to fluctuation- in this economy that is not a fair way of doing business. One star per item we liked, for this review. As much signage is visible upon entry regarding rules and limited persons for entry at a time- not one area provided prices; only signs that tell you not to touch. It's required by law for prices at every establishment to be listed, according to SB 478 for general consumer goods and services in California.

Overall, it's been a good experience every time. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of day. Most of the parking is on the street, so you'll need to keep an eye out for pedestrians and bicyclists while looking for a spot. That's probably the biggest inconvenience of visiting this place. There is usually a 15 to 20-minute wait whenever we come for dessert, but we've always been seated within the quoted wait time, which we appreciate. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so the dining area can feel crowded. Tables are very close together, and you're practically sitting back-to-back with other guests. Because of this, the noise level can get pretty high, and it's easy to overhear conversations from nearby tables. The desserts are the highlight here. The BingSu is excellent, and the lava cake is one of our favorites. The menu is accessed through a QR code, making ordering simple and convenient. Food portions are decent, although prices are definitely on the premium side. Service is efficient, and the food and desserts usually arrive pretty quickly. We used to go to their city location regularly, but over the years we've found ourselves visiting this location more often because the area feels more comfortable and convenient for us. That has made this our go-to spot whenever we're craving dessert. Overall, this is a great place for dessert. The quality of the desserts keeps us coming back, but the difficult parking situation and cramped seating prevent it from being a full 5-star experience. Would definitely return for the BingSu and lava cake.
