Melt Me is hands down one of my favorite ice cream spots in Berkeley. What sets them apart is their incredibly unique Asian-inspired flavors like Ube Malted Crunch, Thai Tea, Miso Peanut Butter Brownie, Korean Corn Latte, Black Sesame Cookies n' Cream, and Mango Sticky Rice. Every time I visit, I'm torn between trying something new or ordering my favorites again. Each flavor is creative, distinct, and actually tastes like the ingredient it's inspired by. My favorite is the Blue Jasmine & Passion Fruit Swirl. The tea flavor is strong and fragrant, which I love. My favorite combos are Thai Tea + Ube Malted Crunch for a richer, creamier bite, or Blue Jasmine Passion Fruit Swirl + Mango Sticky Rice if you're in the mood for something fruitier and refreshing. Was in the area and had to try this ice cream place since I love Asian flavors and ice cream. The ice cream itself was pretty delicious, and you get to try 3 flavors per person. The texture of the ice cream was really good overall, but out of all the samples, my favorites were the Mango Sticky Rice and Yuzu Honey Sorbet which were both vegan flavors. Mango Sticky Rice: This combined coconut ice cream with mango sorbet. The coconut portion was super creamy, while the mango side had more of an icy sorbet texture, but together the combo worked really well. I stopped by this place on a whim after seeing their creative flavors on a sign board outside. They have super cool Asian inspired flavors like coffee and corn, Thai tea Boba, etc and I was super excited to try it. They do allow samples, which is really nice, but the smallest size is a single scoop and you can only get one flavor, so I tried the coffee corn. The flavor was good and I could definitely taste the coffee and the corn, but the texture of the ice cream was definitely not the best. Saw these cute hot chocolates all over tiktok and I had to try them!!! Parking is a bit difficult; we parked about a block or so away. When we got to the creamery, there was already a crowd of people waiting outside; some enjoying their hot chocolates and ice cream, and some waiting in line to order. Expect a 30min wait for hot chocolates, due to high demand! The store is also very tiny. Limited seating inside and outside. I grabbed a Hojicha Biscoff cone while we waited for our hot chocolates. Every year during the week of Thanksgiving, we embark on a tradition: searching the East Bay for its best ice cream. After five years and more than half a dozen shops, we finally found a new favorite, Melt Me Creamery. We loved it so much that we visited three times in one week and even brought three pints to Thanksgiving dinner. Each visit came with warm smiles, generous samples, and genuinely welcoming service. Saw this went viral on tiktok for its S'mores Hot Chocolate and decided to check it out. The line is definitely worth it! It took me about 20min to get through the line and get my order. It's a small ice cream shop with very limited stools inside and outside. While we waited for the main event we tried a scoop of their Campfire S'mores ice cream and Pinkberry ice cream which were both very good! The Pinkberry was very refreshing. The Campfire S'mores wasn't too sweet but it was rich. They had many unique flavors like mango sticky rice, Thai tea and brown sugar mochi, ube malted crunch that I need to return to try. I like that they have a split single where you can try 2 flavors in a single cup instead of having to get 2 full scoops. Their ice cream is very creamy and they give good generous scoops. The Korean coffee is a nice medium roast flavor with the lingering flavor of corn at the end. It was really yummy. Their mango sticky rice tasted mainly of fresh mango. Most UNIQUE ice cream in the East Bay!!! This place is so fire. I got the Honey Lavender and the Blue Jasmine and Passion Fruit Swirl as a split single scoop. The Honey Lavender was amazing -- floral, sweet, strong. Classic flavor pairing. The Jasmine and Passion Fruit Swirl was phenomenal -- the perfect floral tea base from the jasmine butterfly pea, with a refreshing pop of fruity brightness piercing through from the passion fruit. I absolutely looooove a good floral-fruity moment! My sister got a split single of one of the flavors of the month, the Korean Coffee Corn Latte, and the other flavor was the Matcha Strawberry from their regular rotation of flavors. An aside -- Matcha Strawberry was smooth, rich, and not at all gritty. Even Matcha Cafe Maiko, sometimes their matcha can be gritty, and Maruwu Seicha too -- but this place was very good. Apparently, the kind of matcha they use is from Mizuba Matcha Tea Co. -- I'll have to check them out later! The Korean Coffee Corn Latte -- very coffee, very corn -- both strong and present flavors. One, I love that they offer a split single scoop in general. Two, all of their curated starting flavors are so unique and wonderfully picked. I can confidently say I've never seen SO many distinct and palatable flavors before in one ice cream shop -- although it may be a lot for people who prefer simpler, less complicated flavors (not I!). The quality of their ice cream -- I sampled half of them -- were all really, really good. So creamy, very consistent in quality, strong flavors. I'm not having to fight to taste and figure out what flavor I'm eating. This place is newly established in Berkeley, not a chain. The pink decorations in and outside the storefront are really cute. Their cups are cute too -- pink cow-print to match. Their menu layout is clear and appealing. Everything looks crisp, bright, and eye-catching. Also, service is excellent. I tried so many samples, and the employee helping us (one of the store's cofounders!) was very kind and patient, not pushy. Melt Me is one of our favorite ice cream spots . It's a small shop so there is no space to eat inside . We like to buy pints to go and eat at home so it's not a problem. Lately I've been craving all things Pandan. So I searched for Pandan ice cream and found that this ice cream shop has it, but only available this month (April flavor). So, I took the bus from south Berkeley to try their pandan ice cream and I have to regretfully report that it's disappointing. I couldn't taste the pandan. Luckily I also ordered cereal milk, which was creamy and delicious. I may come back to try other flavors. read more
