Ice cream cakes on deck ... easy , good and convenient what more do you need? Yummy yummy ice cream in your tummy

Update: 30 mins later, my stomach is hurting and I have to poop real bad. Worst BR ive ever been to. Ice cream was completely soft and melted when handed to me. Couldnt even get 2 scoops on a cone since it was so soft and the single scoop was so tiny, i finished it in 2 bites. They did not offer me a refund either. read more

Date: Sunday, February 9th, 2025 Time: around 2:15pm *PPQ Old Fashioned Butter Pecan ($8.99) *PPQ Moms Makin Cookies ($8.99) *PPQ Mint Chocolate Chip ($8.99) *Single Scoop ($4.89) - Peppermint *Pre-Pack Promotion (-$1.99) The hubby and I were headed to a super bowl party. We were sent to pick up some ice cream, so stopped by this Baskin Robbins on the way to Oakland. We were the only ones in the store when we arrived. The sales person happily helped us get our prepacked quarts as everything was chained up in their freezers. The hubs already knew what everyone wanted, so it was easy grabbing the flavors. I'm a huge fan of peppermint ice cream, so when I saw BR had it, I decided to grab a scoop. Tho now thinking about it price wise, I probably should have asked if I could get a prepacked quart. If they exist that is. Would have been a much better deal. For some reason, we got two promo credits - one for $1 and another for $0.99. Maybe it was a special? Convenient if in the Emeryville area. It is not my favorite ice cream, but they do have one of the best selection of ice cream, sherbet and ices. My favorite is Daiquiri ice. They also have a great seasonal ice cream flavor: Baseball Nut. read more

Pros: -The location is conveniently located around busy shopping plazas which is good. -I loved the large selection of flavors they had. Cons: -The employee didn't rinse out the scoops well enough from the previous customer so I had a large chunk of a fruit-flavored ice cream in my chocolatey double scoop. -My scoops were also super tiny - I think they might've used the kid sized scoops! -The employee wasn't wearing gloves at all and was going back and forth between scooping ice cream and using the cash register without washing his hands. -You could only get napkins from the front by asking the employee. The employee handed us a few when we paid, but that was all we got. Of all places, I would've hoped that an ice cream shop would be less stingy about their napkins considering they serve a product that melts and drips so easily. read more

My husband ordered my favorite dessert from here for my birthday - a grasshopper pie. I was so excited as it was my favorite dessert growing up and I haven't had it in forever. When my husband presented it to me I was bummed to see the lack of care it was made with. For whatever reason, they used a white crust (which tasted like chalk) instead of the chocolate crust, it didn't have the fudge striping on the crust, and the fudge striping on the top was incredibly thin. Essentially, it was mint chip ice cream with a ton of frosting and a white pie crust that fell a part. It was really disappointing. I even checked online to see if the recipe had changed, and nope, it was just made without a chocolate pie crust and a very evident lack of care. read more

I ordered a banana royale. The portion are getting smaller every visit the employees argue that's because the toppings are more expensive. I wish they can tell you before they serve your ice cream. Very disappointing and it's the same thing in the stores of el Cerrito and alameda. I'll never come back to baskin Robbins. as you can see in the cup is almost empty. Fortunately, they got my wife's Double Scoop order correct, but my 3 Scoop Sundae looked to have been made so half-a**! No whipped cream or a cherry on top of the sundae? There wasn't an option to have whipped cream added when I ordered on DoorDash, so I figured it would be included. That's usually automatic when it comes to sundaes. The "sundae" I got was literally just 3 scoops of ice cream with shaved almonds on top. Next time I wanna order a sundae from this Baskin-Robbins location, I'll have to order in person to make sure they make it correctly. read more

The service is HORRIBLE!!! They served melted ice cream. I had to take it home and put it in the freezer to harden. I will not be back. This is my second visit because I wanted to give them another chance. They failed. read more

Really disappointed with this recent Baskin-Robbins visit. I ordered a two-scoop sundae, but what I got felt more like a sample. The scoops were tiny -- she scraped from the sides of the tub, so the ice cream was icy instead of smooth and creamy. The whipped cream? About the size of a Hershey's Kiss, sagging sadly to one side. I finished the whole thing in just a couple of bites. Ice cream is supposed to be a treat, not a letdown. Service and quality matter, and unfortunately, this location falls short on both. read more

Service was not so good. The lady Just wanted to get over with the order. There was just one lady working and she served me such a small scoop that I thought there were smaller than kids scoops. When she charged me it was for a regular scoop. This was unbelievable and i know there prices are kind of expensive here but what I got wasn't even half of what I paid. Such a small I mean small portion and not even covered with toppings. DONT COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF REALLY BAD BY THE PORTIONS!!! read more

I think that's poor business etiquette. I dealt with Groupon before and I had a contract. I honored the 50% . As a business owner it's good to hono the discount because it's good publicity. I had clients who came back and became members of business increasing sales. If you put an ad out you have to pay for it. Groupon has mass mailings. It's your loss. read more

This location is my go to. It appears to be under new ownership since my last two visits and I am very happy with the change. The new owners seem to be more customer service attentive and definitely pass the vibe check. The new owners are super nice and have been working on site along with employees. The employees have all been very nice, friendly, attentive and helpful. Super bonus - on the second visit, I went for bday ice cream and had my bday balloons and flowers in hand (just received them in parking lot). They wished me happy birthday and I mentioned not getting my baskin robbins free bday scoop email that I normally get every year (I had the old emails) the new owners went ahead honored my bday with a free scoop anyway! Very appreciated! Very great experience. Clean and tidy store. Easily accessible with easy parking in the connected parking lot. I will be back for more of my favorite ice creams, cakes and for sure some polar pizzas (personal fave!!) read more

This is the worst banana split I have had in my life from Baskin Robbin's. They need to know how to fix the ice cream that's requested. Especially, when there's a visual picture on the wall. Perfect example. She was skimpy with the ice cream as well as the syrup and fixings for the banana split. The inside appears to be clean. The service was o.k. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION - New MGMT IS CUTTING CORNERS & ALTERING the product. This is not the Baskin Robbins you grew up with as a kid. The products served is subpar compared to other Baskin Robbins locations. I ordered a 9" dome cake, which I have purchased 3x from this location. I texted photos and communicated 9". I paid online, no inch measurements were listed. I went to pick up the cake and 6" dome cake was supplied. I told staff it is the wrong cake I will place a new order for a 9" cake which costs more. They agreed they would refund this one as long as I am paying for the correct cake because they can sell the wrong cake. Next day, I text morning staff about the confusion. I confirm with them to refund the other order and I placed a new order the second correct cake. I go to pick up the order, the lady gave me the new cake 9 round as they don't know how to do a 9 inch dome. Then at the very end the lady tells me they cannot refund the 6 inch cake and if I wanted to take it. This lady staff member made MULTIPLE FALSE STATEMENTS to support why she cannot refund the cake. 1) Baskin Robbins has never made a 9 inch dome cake - which a basic internet search proves false. 2) She told me this location never made a 9 inch dome cake, even though I have email order receipts, text messages, and photos of ordering this (3) 9 inch dome cakes. 3) If I wanted a refund I was suppose to cancel before the 24 hours window ended -- The cake was ordered online and picked up in less than 7 hours, which her policy can't apply. It was almost as if she enjoyed this gaslighting (aka lying). THE CAKE is 30% SHORTER - the skimmed out on ice cream Then when I get home I see the cake is 60% shorter than what it should be. I cut it open and see they reduce the amount of ice cream. (See photos of their cake, in comparsion to other baskin robbin location cakes). I have ordered this cake for about 2 decades. NEW MGMT decided to save money and make the cake with less ice cream. This doesn't even match Baskin Robbins standards- standards they are likely required to in order to be a franchise. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION, drive to ALAMEDA or go to FENTONS. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my son's birthday. I got more cake than ice creamm. How can you consider it an ice cream cake. I called to complain but they said they will give me a $5 discount for next visit. The cake was not cheap so $5 didn't seem like it did it justice. also want to let you know the cake was suppose to come in a rectangular shape but they told me they didn't have it in rectangular so I have to get it in circular and they didn't have chocolate cake. So I settled for vanilla. Then they called me again and told me they have chocolate. Get your shit together man read more

They did a wonderful job making my godchild's birthday cake. The flavor was strawberry cheesecake with white cake and it was very good. All the kids loved it. There was none left over. The price was decent 60$ plus tax for a 1/4 sheet ice cream cake. You choose whatever flavor ice cream you want with a choice of chocolate or white cake. My cake was presented on time for pick up and made exactly to my expectations. They also provide a variety of premade ice cream cakes along with candles and toppers you can buy for decorations. I don't frequent BR often but wanted to try the thanksgiving ice cream which is good by the way. Store wasn't busy. The server, Tymisha came out, spoke and said she'd be with me. Had a few good samples. She was able to answer my questions and multitask very well. I was impressed that she was able to handle a crisis with the management while still serving the customer. She was clear, concise and kind. Very considerate and communicative. Due to of her impressive service, I'll return. The store was clean and well organized. read more

Who doesn't like ice cream! The Oreo layered sundae is really enough for two ppl. It's really rich but oh so good. I usually get mine without the whipped cream, I mean it's already sweet enough so I can do without all the extra. The chocolate fudge is warm! Mmmmm yeah. Service was great, they were super friendly and helped me with scoop/oz sizes. I was able to do two flavors for the single scoop. I got a dipped sugar cone and my only comment is that it was a bit stale probably because it isn't a popular item and the dipped/fancy (sprinkles + chocolate dipped) cones have been sitting out for a long time. Definitely was not worth the extra calories from the chocolate of a stale dipped cone. I got a huge chunk of Oreo in my Oreo cookies n' cream scoop and am super happy about that. read more

Great staff and service, friendly and organized. Easy access from parking lot. Would definitely recommend.

The customer service here is really great. I was craving the Icing on the Cake ice cream flavor. Unfortunately, they ran out. The manager (I believe) was so accommodating! She seemed to really care that I get the flavor I wanted. My bf asked if she could put icing on my ice cream and she said yes. She made it look so aesthetically pleasing too. She had such a friendly demeanor. I was having a really terrible day and that's all I wanted...yes - as an adult. Lol If you're reading this, thank you!! read more

The ice cream was just okay and the service was super slow! I like the selection of ice cream they have but I don't think the price justifies it. I got the kid's scoop and that's almost $4 or so. The staff is usually pretty courteous but they're really inefficient and slow. I waited thirty minutes to get the cappuccino blast even though I was the third person in line. In addition, the staff don't seem to know what their ongoing promotions are. I went to get a cappuccino blast because it was $2.99 that day but the staff charged me $6 or $7 for it. They did rectify their mistake but it surprised me that they didn't know they had that promotion at all. One of the staffers wasn't trained and didn't know how to make the shakes or take people's orders. They only had one blender, which I thought was pretty ridiculous. read more

I give this place 0 stars. I purchased 2 banana royals and it had more bananas than the 2 scoops of ice cream. Unfortunately, there is not a spot for a zero star. B&R has for years been the "go to" spot for ice-cream and shakes. On our recent visit we stopped in to get my wife's favorite, mint chocolate chip. They had it in stock, and at a cheaper price than our local Lucky's. We opened the first quart when we got home and discovered it was freezer burned and had a strange taste. No problem, we can return it in a few days on our next trip to Emeryville. We were mistaken. We brought the 2 containers in for an exchange. We explained the situation and her immediate reply was "do you have a receipt?" And "these are expired." I do not regularly keep receipts for purchases such as this. All I was looking for was a replacement or exchange. When we asked for the manager, she stated that she is the owner. She would do nothing. She sold us out of date, freezer burned product and would not stand behind it. She could have had a better attitude dealing with the whole situation. I have been an owner of an independent retail store for over 40 years. I do not prescribe to the old adage that the customer is always right, but in this case, I was. For the small cost of replacement, she could have saved a long-time customer, and received a much better review. My advice is, if you find yourself having a Jones for ice-cream, skip the B&R on 40th st in Emeryville. Go just a little further to Fenton's on Piedmont avenue. Better service and up to date product read more

My ice cream eating memories only stretch back 14 years, so if I find a dated picture stating otherwise, I've been going there since I was at least 10 years old! This is seriously my childhood spot, and to this day, I get the same thing! Two scoops: one gold medal ribbon and the other world class chocolate. If not, then I get those two same flavors in the Banana Royale. The staff changed over the years, but before that it was the same group. Baskin Robbins makes a pretty mean rainbow sherbet: http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/d_dk-VvnR4J1l6I8ZIzYIg/l And, props to them for 31 cent night (coming up this month) as well as free birthday scoops, if you sign up for their mailing list! This Baskin Robbins, however, can be summed up by one girl's exclamation when she walked in: "Wow, everything in here is SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE!' It's true. A milkshake is $5. I didn't like my bf's mint chocolate chip milkshake. It was awkward tasting, like melted ice cream, although I guess that's what it is essentially...but it doesn't float my boat. Unlike a previous poster, I did not see any obese people. I saw something worse though. Seriously horrible customer service here. I haven't been to a Baskin Robins in years, but received a birthday offer in my inbox for a free scoop, so figured I'd give it a try. There were two ladies working when we came in, and they were completely unfriendly from the beginning. I expressed my excitement at trying my old favorite flavor (I loved BR as a kid), and she just sort of looked at me with an unhappy face. I mentioned I had an offer for a free scoop, so I wanted to just add one to it and make it two scoops, and she went off to get it. I showed her the coupon, and she said it was for a kids scoop (which it says nowhere) and was completely rude about having to charge me full price for both scoops, which means I couldn't even use my birthday offer! The store was dead when we came in (a line formed after) and the tables were filthy. Now I'm writing this with a bad taste in my mouth (from both the rainbow sherbet and the experience). read more

I have always loved Baskin Robbins and coming to one makes me think back to my childhood. They do have unique flavors which also tickle my taste buds. But this one like many others are stingy on their hot fudge. Did you know you get smaller scoops for a sundae? I'm okay with that because I love the topping. So I better get some topping. I don't generally review nationwide chains because your experience varies so much from place to place but be sure they give you enough topping. Overall the service was friendly and the ice cream was good. But if I'm paying for toppings I should get them. read more
