I wanted to support an Alameda business for a recent event and came across Doodlecakes online. Rebekah was amazing throughout the process answering questions I had, keeping me updated on various flavors that were coming up, etc. The variety of cupcake flavors was awesome! The event guests had fun choosing what flavors they were going to eat and raved about the taste. I think my two favorites were the cookies and cream cupcake and the biscoff cookie cupcake. Highly recommend for any events you're hosting (they have regular cupcakes, mini cupcakes, cakes, etc.).

Awesome custom cupcake and cake shop right here in Alameda. Doodlecakes definitely delivers on its mouthwatering treats. I especially love their mini cupcake platter that gives you the chance to sample all of the flavors they offer each week. They seem to change their menu often with the different creations such as Taro one week and maybe Strawberry Crunch the next. The owners are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. They have a fair amount of Gluten Free options as well and are just as delicious. A place worth checking out and 4.7 stars.

It was okay... I wish there were more options because the cupcake windows looked a little empty but the standard cupcakes were tasty. They do have vegan options and gluten free but they aren't sweet enough to be a cupcake but that's expected if you trying to be healthy. We didn't know that some were vegan and some were gluten free so we got 2 by accident. It's in a cute little location and the vibe is pretty standard just a small shop, the service was decent. I think it's like 4.50$ per CC.

My new obsession! I've been wanting to stop by to try their vegan cupcakes. I came by today (Friday, Valentine's day) and they also had some special valentine's day treats! It is cute and welcoming inside and the person working was super helpful in showing me the different flavors. So far I have only eaten the chocolate cupcake and it was soooo good! You wouldn't even be able to tell that it's vegan and gluten free. Will definitely be back!

I have ordered birthday cakes and cupcakes (both regular and gluten free) from Rebekah of Doodlecakes for the past 3 years. Everything has been amazing: delicious and beautifully decorated. She is also super responsive and does great custom cakes as well. I so appreciate her care and attention to detail, especially when it comes to common allergens like nuts and eggs. It's so nice to be able to support a local family-run business that does great work and is run by such lovely people. Highly recommend.

Gluten and dairy free cupcakes. Oreo, blueberry, and hot cocoa were INCREDIBLE!

Wife avoids dairy and gluten and found this place and wanted to give it a try, we went late in the day but tried what was left of the gf/df options and they were super good! I tried a couple regular cupcakes and they were great also. My wife pre ordered a gluten/dairy free dozen recently and I was blown away by how good they were. The oreo, blueberry, and hot cocoa gf/df cupcakes were incredible- I would've never guessed they were gf/df. I also tried a cinnamon toast crunch cupcake and it was pretty good, I just liked the other 3 a lot more. I wish I would've ordered myself a dozen too lol- next time! I live in the central valley but when we're in the area we're going to make it a point to come here! Staff was also super friendly. I used to love feelgood bakery in Alameda and now that it's closed this is my new favorite spot in the area

Custom Sonic cake

Rebekah was awesome! She created a custom cake for my son's birthday and it was amazing! She made the process so easy and was very responsive and friendly. Everyone at the party was so impressed with the cake and cupcakes! We will definitely be coming back!

Doodlecakes is on Central, right next to the intersection of Webster Street, and across from the Coast Guard Recruitment office. Stopped in for a sweet snack while running errands nearby. Got the coco choco cupcake $4.25 and it was very tasty and moist, made well with good ingredients that you can taste. Some cupcakes are also made without eggs, dairy or gluten. I believe they change their cupcake flavors and designs weekly. If you opt in to their text messaging service, you can get 10% off your next order.

I have a friend who always brings cupcakes and cakes from this place and they are so good! My friend said the owners are a couple, one as the baker and the other in sales. They have creative tasty flavors and do custom orders really well. You name it they can do it- from John Wick to a vegan beer-themed cake! I've also had several of their cupcakes and they are tasty with yummy toppings and presentation. I have yet to personally order from them because they are a bit further from me and I've been spoiled by my friend who has this place as their go-to dessert spot. I know who to go to for my next custom cake!

Custom Jungle Cake

Doodlecakes may have a small storefront, but I would give it lots of kudos for service! Rebekkah was very responsive and accommodating. I also really liked their the online ordering and payment system. It was really convenient. The custom jungle cake that I ordered for my son's birthday was so adorable and cute! The cake was really moist, which we appreciated. However, it was a tad too sweet and had a little too much frosting on the outside of the cake. But, this may have just been due to the design that I wanted as it had to hold the jungle animals. I'm looking forward to my next event, so I can try some different flavors of cupcakes!

Discovered this shop at the Alameda Art and Wine Festival and so glad I did! Their cupcakes are flavorful and moist. A week later, I was in Alameda and had to stop by the shop. Not all the cupcakes i bought are pictured as I shared with my parents. The red velvet, chocolate chip, cookies and cream and the ones with chocolate are my favorites I know it's hard to choose with all great options!

Rebekah does it again! Our lil buddy turned two and now two years in a row Rebekah has made magic on his birthday. We received many remarks not only about how it was a work of art, but also the tastiest cake they've ever had. I sent over a few inspo picks from Pinterest, and very quickly Rebekah understood the vision. The consistency of the both the cake and frosting is 10/10. Art + flavor win/win. Thank you Rebekah and team!

I was cheering up at the thought of trying their good looking pastries and bread and I was about to order myself a number of items. I went to order the chicken pesto focaccia and the Oldet Gentlemen at the counter was so rude. He corrected me and called it a pizza with an attitude. I also ordered a coffee and he rudely and impatiently asked me the size. This is my first time here so I was maybe a bit slower to order and know the menu names and sizes but there was only one pesto chicken thing on the menu and it's in the shape of focaccia bread. I stopped ordering anything else because the gentlemen was so rude. I will now hesitate to visit this place and will never buy anything. if he is the cashier again. I usually order a lot of different things when I'm trying new places and I like to be loyal and frequent places and always leave a tip but I will def think twice before visiting next time. Their chicken pesto was okay. The english muffins looked really good but I didn't want to purchase because of the interaction.

A true gem. Tarts de…read moreFeybesse creates some of the most beautiful and artistic pastries in the area. Every item feels thoughtfully crafted and almost too pretty to eat. Almost. What makes them even more special is the Filipino-French influence woven throughout their creations. Jamie W and I decided to pay a visit after our gym workout because we figured we could reward ourselves for breaking a sweat. Arriving in the last hour before closing, we were happily anticipatory that their display case was still well stocked. It was no surprise how gorgeous it was. We had seen the Instagram photos of the visually striking, trompe l'oeil "fruit" pastries (Photo 6). They were indeed mini-works of art with thin, white-chocolate shells that easily crack open to reveal appropriately sweet fillings. We limited ourselves to four items because we didn't want to get carried away...literally. Besides, they weren't cheap. Our priciest item was the $14.50 Peanut shaped like a giant peanut shell and filled with a light peanut butter mousse. There was also a strawberry gelee and a crisp peanut butter wafer that helped reflect the intended PBJ concept. It was just a bit sweet for me. The second item, the $12 Coconut, was my favorite. It was designed to look like a perfectly cracked open coconut with the outer hull made of textured milk chocolate and the "meat" made of white chocolate (Photo 7). The macapuno entremet core reflected co-owner Monique Feybasse's Filipino background. It consisted of coconut whipped cream mousse freckled with macapuno and coconut shavings, and a chocolate coconut sponge cake. The entirety was a true tropical experience. The $8.50 Pistachio Eclair was the most straightforward of the quartet with a golden pate-a-choux shell, pistachio pastry cream with a matcha-like powder, and chopped pistachios (Photo 10). The basic approach taken was enhanced by the quality of the execution. The $4.50 Madeleine was a comparative bargain and quite a treat, providing a soft-crumbed sponge cake covered in a pistachio coating shaped like a seashell (Photo 9). Monique and her husband Paul clearly know what they're doing, having extensive experience in Michelin-starred restaurants like the acclaimed Geranium in Copenhagen. On Sunday afternoon, there was a constant stream of customers, many of them regulars who knew exactly what to order. FOOD - 4 stars...craftsmanship and execution are aces, some satisfy more than others, also a bit pricey AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...crowded so hard to tell beyond the striking displays SERVICE - 4 stars...nice though necessarily transactional TOTAL - 4 stars...definitely an eyeful even more than a mouthful RELATED - Exploring Oakland? The seating is mostly at table tables along the wall walls of window. It was kind of neat to be able to sit and watch people walk by in the traffic as it ebbed and flowed toward the bridge. The early morning was rather quiet outside so it wasn't noisy at all. I had a lovely chai latte, extra spicy. It was perfect after the chilly walk to this little space of warmth. They had a nice selection of pastries, ultimately I chose a danish because I love them. This one did not disappoint. It was tender and flaky and went perfectly dipped in my chai. If ever, we are in the area again, I will definitely pay another visit. It was nice to step into a local place that wasn't a chain. I think the quality of staff and consumable offerings was just so much better than you would find at one of the other places.
