Chicken Fried Steak and 3 Eggs

Large portions and tasty food! Waffle is always exceptional whatever secret is in their batter. Chicken fried steak was very crispy and well seasoned. They toasted the banana bread, which was an extra touch to make it more tasty. Coffee was flavorful. My waitress was very informative and all staff seemed to be very helpful with a positive attitude. Offered multiple times to refill my coffee. Has a nice old time diner feel with individual booths, friendly vibes and a fun place to have a good meal. Haven't been here in a while, but will come back again soon!

Wow what didn't I love from this place!! The parking is super spacious, no need to drive around for parking even though it was booked and busy inside. The staff is so very sweet. Our waitress was the sweetest person I think I've ever met? She made amazing recommendations, made us feel welcome, just 10/10 there. We got our food super quickly! I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and was pleasantly surprised at the beast placed before me! They are not skimpy at all with their portion size. The burrito was filled to the brim with egg, chorizo, big pieces of onion, and green pepper (which is not my favorite and I could've done without but that's just personal preference!) the hashbrows were cooked perfectly- not a soggy piece in sight! The portions are huge for this plate though, so after focusing on the hash browns I had no room left so I would suggest sharing this plate. The pancakes were HUGE! They were a weeeee bit dry, but douse them in butter and syrup they went down just fine! The price for everything was not bad at all. Ambiance was classic diner, and they even had a cute little fish tank on the side with the cutest big fish! Ahh wish it wasn't so far from me but I would definitely make the drive out to eat here again!

I love this place & the people who work here. They always make me feel like I'm at a family members place. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. I HIGHLY recommend this place to any and EVERYONE. My husband and I come here weekly. Here's a few pictures of our meals.

Everything from the moment we walked in to when we left was such a lovely experience. We were sat by the lovely hostess and given menus. The menu was quite large with a lot of different options. I chose the 3rd special with French toast and links plus a side of buttermilk pancakes. The portion sizes are huge so sharing is definitely a must. The French toast was amazing. The toast was crispy and had a delicious buttery taste. The waitress was super sweet and funny and she made my time there excellent. I did, indeed, feel like family. It's right off the entrance to Alameda so definitely worth a stop for brunch!

What a treat! I met a friend at Jim's today and Dimitri was so sweet to share briefly how Jim's is his family legacy because I mentioned how he's been working there a long time. Such a sentimental story and connection to his roots. Loved the decorations. We decided to sit at a table today. Super clean and tidy even with a napkin dispenser there. I rarely make time to stop by Jim's anymore but I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years. Teresa was our waitress today. Patient and attentive to detail especially since my friend is on a strict no fat diet. His salad looked delicious despite his special requests. But Oooow I have to rave about my Reuben sandwich, so moist and not too greasy which was a win in my book. Also, because I was feeling adventurous I tried the ube tower waffle which will be available until Friday, 12/12/25. That hit the spot with the ube syrup and fresh strawberries and bananas along with walnuts. Overall, an amazing experience. Thanks so much Jim's for your commitment to our community :-) happy holidays!

Many a times, I had seen the line out the door on weekends at Jim's. The other day, we were hungry for breakfast and didn't want to visit our usual haunts, so we drove to Jim's. They have a parking lot to the left of the restaurant, another bonus! It wasn't super busy when we walked in, maybe four or five other tables in use. We were told to pick a table and menus were presented as soon as we sat down and drink orders were taken. We both ordered coffee. The menu is an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. We were there for breakfast, so we didn't pay much attention to lunch items. My standard order for breakfast restaurants is Chicken Fried Steak, Eggs over easy, Hash Browns, Biscuit and Gravy. For some unknown reason, when the server took my order, the last thing I said to her was, "lotsa gravy all over everything". And if you look at my picture, the only place where there wasn't any gravy was on my biscuit. And it was all delicious! She got Corned Beef Hash with Eggs and Hash Browns with Wheat Toast. She also enjoyed her breakfast and was quite happy that her toast came buttered on both sides. These were great large breakfasts with lots of good food. We both ended up taking some home for breakfast the next day. Even the coffee was pretty good, something that's not always true at diners. Service was excellent and we'll definitely be back for other flavors.

Got a burger after a workout and it was cooked well and everything was fresh. Perfect diner burger if that makes any sense. The fries were fresh and I got a side of ranch. It was early afternoon and they weren't busy. The service was friendly and the banter was fun. Lots of booths and tables. Kinda an alternative to Ole's without the wait and cried.

We've been here a couple of times and always had a good experience. The interior is spacious, and there's a large parking lot, which is super convenient. Food portions are generous and everything we've tried has tasted great. The service is friendly and attentive--they kept our coffee refilled without having to ask.

Very fast and friendly service! They have an extensive menu but my partner and I decided on the sbc omelette (sub jack cheese for cheddar) and the biscuits & gravy. We also ordered the special #4 and upgraded the french toast to their house made cinnamon bread. The portions are big but definitely need some salt & pepper as we realized there was no seasoning. The meal was good all around and a bit pricey for standard diner food but would come again for a quick homestyle breakfast. Inside is very large and has an old school diner feel which contrasts the unassuming exterior. Highlight was definitely the hash browns which were very crispy and hot.

This is my go to spot when I have too many picky eaters in the group! They have a little bit of everything- traditional American breakfast, hella good chilaquiles, sandwiches, and the best waffles! It's a cute spot for everyone plus the staff if so friendly and attentive.

I had a day planned that included cleaning the garage, so I figured a big breakfast would be good. I walked in just before 9am, and the place was empty. A waitress greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. It's actually hard to pick a table when the place is empty. Cape 7 has a fairly large dining room. It used to be a Sizzler Restaurant. Before Cape 7, it was "Shell Shock." Cape 7 never changed the Shell Shock decor, so it has a nautical theme. A pirate stands guard by the restrooms. So I sat at a booth by the window. I sat back and the bench seat was broken. A gentleman raced over and switched the bench seats. Wow, you have to be careful when you sit down at Cape 7. I ordered a Denver Omelette w/ hash browns, a side of Pancakes, and Coffee. It took about 10-min for my food to come. By 9am more customers came in. After my food arrived, I didn't see a waitress or waiter for 20-mins. Then the owner arrived, and a waitress checked on my table every 5 mins. The Denver Omelette was made with 4 eggs. The serving size was pretty large. The two pancakes were a bit dry. I needed more butter and syrup. Instead, I used alot of jams (that were on the table). The food was okay, I might come back for breakfast again. Off street parking lot in back.

The French toast combo was basic. The sausage links were under cooked, the over medium eggs were more over easy and the French toast took too long. Service was quiet but attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. The food was the real star. We started with the Brussels sprouts (light, crispy, and perfectly cooked), calamari (well‑seasoned and not heavy at all), and warm biscuits with whipped honey butter--so good. The clam chowder stole the show for us: poured tableside, rich but not heavy, and full of flavor. For entrées, the seafood pasta was fantastic, the lobster rigatoni was delicious (just wished for a bit more lobster), the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the lamb--while tasty--could've used a touch more time. The place was pretty busy when I arrived, which is always a good sign. I ordered the French toast special, which comes with three pieces of French toast, eggs, and a side of meat. Since I don't eat pork and they didn't have turkey bacon available that day, I ended up getting a piece of chicken with it and a large coffee. The coffee was excellent--a nice big diner-style cup and really good quality. You can tell why people come here regularly just for coffee. The French toast was really good and came topped with strawberries and raspberries, which I wasn't expecting but was a nice touch. The eggs were fresh, and the chicken was flavorful--I added a little Tapatío and it hit the spot. The atmosphere was great too: very clean, welcoming, and the staff were friendly and engaging. The only two small drawbacks for me were: * The portion size felt a little small. I would have loved maybe a couple more pieces of French toast or a slightly bigger portion overall. * There didn't seem to be table-side coffee refills. It looked like if you wanted another cup you had to go back to the counter and order again. Aside from those minor things, the overall experience was very good. I'd give it about a 9 out of 10. I'll definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu--maybe an omelet next time.
