Having been to Jim's on the Course, decided to try this spot since they're together. Standard American breakfast / brunch spot. If you're hungry, this is a good restaurant to come to as the portions are massive. As you can see from the photos though, the food is a bit overwhelming. Other than being massive, it's greasy and lacking vibrancy of colors. Servers were nice, but service was a little off. It took a while to get our check. Then we realized (after not being told) that we needed to go up to the register to pay. Came in for breakfast before attending a meeting nearby. The green and white color theme has a family friendly vibe. Fairly empty, was able to get seated quickly. We had a large group but the ordering was seamless, our waitress was excellent. Wow what didn't I love from this place!! The parking is super spacious, no need to drive around for parking even though it was booked and busy inside. The staff is so very sweet. Our waitress was the sweetest person I think I've ever met? She made amazing recommendations, made us feel welcome, just 10/10 there. We got our food super quickly! I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and was pleasantly surprised at the beast placed before me! They are not skimpy at all with their portion size. The burrito was filled to the brim with egg, chorizo, big pieces of onion, and green pepper (which is not my favorite and I could've done without but that's just personal preference!) the hashbrows were cooked perfectly- not a soggy piece in sight! The portions are huge for this plate though, so after focusing on the hash browns I had no room left so I would suggest sharing this plate. The pancakes were HUGE! They were a weeeee bit dry, but douse them in butter and syrup they went down just fine! The price for everything was not bad at all. Everything from the moment we walked in to when we left was such a lovely experience. We were sat by the lovely hostess and given menus. The menu was quite large with a lot of different options. I chose the 3rd special with French toast and links plus a side of buttermilk pancakes. The portion sizes are huge so sharing is definitely a must. The French toast was amazing. The toast was crispy and had a delicious buttery taste. The waitress was super sweet and funny and she made my time there excellent. I did, indeed, feel like family. Many a times, I had seen the line out the door on weekends at Jim's. The other day, we were hungry for breakfast and didn't want to visit our usual haunts, so we drove to Jim's. They have a parking lot to the left of the restaurant, another bonus! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't super busy when we walked in, maybe four or five other tables in use.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were told to pick a table and menus were presented as soon as we sat down and drink orders were taken. We both ordered coffee. The menu is an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. We were there for breakfast, so we didn't pay much attention to lunch items. My standard order for breakfast restaurants is Chicken Fried Steak, Eggs over easy, Hash Browns, Biscuit and Gravy. For some unknown reason, when the server took my order, the last thing I said to her was, "lotsa gravy all over everything". And if you look at my picture, the only place where there wasn't any gravy was on my biscuit. And it was all delicious! She got Corned Beef Hash with Eggs and Hash Browns with Wheat Toast. She also enjoyed her breakfast and was quite happy that her toast came buttered on both sides. These were great large breakfasts with lots of good food. We both ended up taking some home for breakfast the next day. Even the coffee was pretty good, something that's not always true at diners. What a treat! I met a friend at Jim's today and Dimitri was so sweet to share briefly how Jim's is his family legacy because I mentioned how he's been working there a long time. This is one of my husbands favorite breakfast spots but I personally don't enjoy it as much. We order to-go on lazy Sunday mornings for us and the kids as it's local and convenient. I wish the scrambled eggs would have a dash of seasoning, a little garlic salt or black pepper. They're always so thick and bland. A little ketchup fixes that but I wish the eggs itself had something to it and I'm not a cheese fan to add a bunch to my eggs. The bacon always comes burnt so we stopped ordering it and opted for sausage links which are delicious and different from what we'd have at home. The pancakes are a great size as well as the waffles but also pretty bland on flavor - thankfully I have strawberry syrup at home and we order To-go so it's a quick fix. If you're into plain Jane eggs and pancakes when going out to eat, this is your spot (and a reason why my husband enjoys it so much, he like a simple breakfast) If you're one that likes to go out and have something different than what you can make at home, this isn't the spot for you. They are an American breakfast diner and that's exactly what their food is so in that sense they'd get a 5 star but for me personally I like a little extra when going out to eat hence my rating. Old school coffee shop look with booths, tables and counter seating. Large, uneven and holey parking lot on the side and in the back of the restaurant. If you're lucky, you'll get to sit in a booth with duct tape on the bench seating. There's a charm to the 70s style look. As for food, you'll have traditional breakfasts like omelettes, pancakes, hash browns, eggs any style, while for lunch and early supper, you'll choose from sandwiches, burgers, steak, fried chicken, pasta, etc... if you're looking for coffee shop faire - Jim's will likely have it along with a decent cup of coffee. We had: - Patty Melt, medium 1/2 pound burger with fries. Decent patty melt while fries need more pizzazz. - Fried Chicken with Veggies, Mashed Potatoes, Soup, and Garlic Bread. I ordered our breakfast on a Saturday morning. It's so sad that when I got home our toast bread are all burnt. So, I called the restaurant and I told the lady that answered the phone the situation. Of course I'm not so happy about it. I said to her, can I talked to your manager, she said that she is the manager, she said to me that I'm so aggressive and she's busy with the customers, I asked her what's her name and she hung up the phone. I had to drive back to the restaurant, unfortunately when I walked in, I heard her say " I'm going in the back. I guess she didn't want to talk to me. I told the front the situation and a nice lady says " I'll change it for you " I have to asked someone what is the manager's name. A manager needs to know how to handle situations like this, don't hung up the phone because you are busy. I'm a paying customer too. May be the owner needs to pay attention how your employees interact with customers. read more

They serve mainly breakfast and lunch food options as they close early everyday. Food / It's your typical mom and pop diner so lots of American Diner Food! I got the crab cake Benedict. So it came on a bed of sautéed spinach, covered in lots of hollandaise sauce, and served with crispy hash browns! Crab cake had lots of real crab meat chunks and seasoned well! I love the huge load of sautéed spinach they added as I needed my daily intake of greens! They are not shy with that hollandaise sauce and they executed it fairly well! Hash browns were so crispy I licked that plate so quickly! This dish tasted so good that I would come here again and order this for the price too, well worth it! Service / It was okaaaay. My friends and I came here to brunch before we headed off to Second Sky on 9/19 Sunday! When first walked it it looked like a fully packed location, but we were able to find good seating towards the back corner by the basketball player portrait. Service was 10/10, the service was quick, taking the number of customers at the time into consideration. One of the waitresses had a partially dyed green eyebrow and that was the most amazing thing that we have seen. We were complimenting her eyebrow as soon as she walked away LOL. She was very patient with us with our orders and explained the diff between an old fashioned/traditional and belgium waffle (belgium is thicker). The food was also a 10/10 from me! I pour all the syrup and butter provided on top of my waffle. We quickly left after our meal as we had to head to the event.
