I've been ordering for delivery from here quite a bit recently so I can't speak to the sit down experience and parking situation. I love everything I have ordered so far and I have tried a lot of different things already. The food is diner style breakfast and almost all breakfast items can be found in a burger or a wrapped form too which I love when I need an on the go option. Most of the burgers and sandwiches are also pretty much diner style. It's very saucy so be careful when you eat cuz it gets very messy but it is delicious. I do feel sleepy after a meal. I been craving chili cheese fries recently so having chili cheese fries as an option is good here. Honestly, it's nothing to brag about but it does get the craving done. I do like ordering from here and hopefully soon I will get a chance to go to the restaurant itself to be able to talk about their service situation as well. read more

I only order from this place strictly through delivery app like GrubHub, so I've never been there physically so I don't know the ambiance of the place. This place is good, like really good. The crazy pat is that it's affordable too for all the food given. My go-to is always the Breakfast Burger, Pancakes, English Muffin Breakfast Sandwich, and the Breakfast Burrito. Breakfast Burger is absolutely the star of the meal, excellently grilled beef with delicious crispy hash browns on a brioche bun with their special sauce is peak. It's also a large burger too, I'm stuffed every time I enjoy this, usually I cut it in half so I can enjoy the rest of the breakfast. I really love their pancakes and you get a smiley face on it too. Really good texture and the batter is flavored with a slight sweetness so not too much syrup is needed. Absolutely wonderful and one of my favorite places for Pancakes. English Muffin Breakfast sandwich is packed with a lot protein and it's pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. Breakfast Burrito is my sister's favorite, filled with all the good stuff. I don't eat it too much but the bites I've had were good. All the food is cooked perfectly and I split it with my family and it'll last us until dinner usually. The orders are usually accurate, I've only ever had one encounter out of my dozen ordering from them where they forgot a set of pancakes, of course GrubHub made it right so no harm no fowl (we didn't have any chicken). If you're looking for a hearty breakfast with a good variety of menu options, I recommend ordering from Emil's. They have breakfast sandwiches, wraps, omelettes, pancakes, french toast, and the list goes on. I liked that you could choose a vegetarian option (i.e. avocado or spinach) for both the sandwich and wrap, which was exactly what I was looking for. The eggs were cooked nicely, the avocado was fresh, the hash browns were crispy, and the spinach, mushrooms, onion, and tomatoes in the omelette were really good. They didn't over salt anything, so you could season as needed. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was their cheese for some reason. The french toast batter had a hint of cinnamon, which was good, but I usually prefer my toast strictly savory...no powdered sugar, syrup or anything! (I know I'm probably one of the few lol.) Emil's followed the special instructions included with my order, so that was a plus! If I was in the area and craving breakfast, I would come back. This is a cute, cheap breakfast/burger joint. I came here on a Saturday morning, around 11am, and it wasn't busy. I opted to order their hamburger meal, which came with a fountain soda and side of fries. Their sign advertises "fresh, never frozen beef" but I'm 100% sure that they use cheap, frozen beef patties. Mine smelled and tasted a little fishy, maybe because their stove needs cleaning, but the whole meal was $10 bucks and you bet I ate it. Fries were bomb and very fresh / hot. Honestly, if it weren't for the cheap prices and cute wife/husband (I think?) working duo, I wouldn't be giving them 4 stars. I think if I were being harsher, I would give them 2-3 stars. I want to try their breakfast next time but I think I may pass on their burgers, at least the beef ones. Other notes -no restroom here. This place has been in my bookmarks for a few months, and today I went there. It is an easy ride on the 1T down East 14th Street to Fruitvale Ave., from there it is a five minute walk to the restaurant. It was not busy at all, as there was one gentleman in there and I was able to order my food immediately. I decided on a mushroom burger with chili cheese fries along with a chocolate shake. After 19 minutes my food was ready, and it was back to the bus and on my way home. The burger was cooked to perfection and the chili fries were outstanding, and the chocolate shake was smooth. Seriously a good cheap burger. I was leary of the area, clientele and clean but not sterilized appearance of the place but we had bailed off from gridlock on 880 and decided to try something new. Meat is not your highest quality and must have a high fat content, because ours were cooked well done and were still moist and not dry. I had a mushroom Swiss burger al a cart & the hubbs had 1/2 lb bacon cheeseburger meal that was seriously HUGE. Top off with fresh lettuce, hand sliced red onion and a sesame seed bun and you're in for good eats without the price tag. Love this place! Sitting here on a warm and sunny morning next to the fountain in the middle of the Fruitvale Village Plaza. Not being on the street, you don't know about this place unless you walk into this Plaza and find it. If you're super hungry and in the fruitvale area, you can come and have hamburger and fries as there are not too many options for burgers close by. Other than that, it's mediocre. The Egg Melt breakfast sandwich is American cheese and a basic croissant; a nice sandwich, but nothing fancy. Service is appropriately quick --- yes, that's about how long I expect it to take to make a sandwich. Not "here-ya-go-we-made-it-an-hour-ago-next-please" fast, not "is everyone on break?" slow. Fruitvale has up and come nicely, and while Emil's is a hold-over and nothing close to the fancy vibe emanating from many of the new condos increasingly dotting the local landscape, it holds its own nicely with value for money and the tasty variety of food on offer. Breakfast sandwiches are perfect...really. Burgers are solid, and every plate of food over $5 will fill you up. The interior is nothing to appreciate necessarily, unless you count the kind and chatty folks each morning who find their way to a plate of eggs and hash browns with a few strips of bacon. Now don't come expecting a single fancy thing. You won't find eggs Benedict or a mimosa for a good half mile in any direction. I usually get it as a combo with curly fries and a Coke. The price is somewhat high for a burger joint, but everyone has to eat. On weekdays I recommend that you go before 12pm or after 1pm.
