    The drive thru burger!
    Mary B.

Yummmmmm their smash burger is fantastic! Messy but yumalish! Not a date type meal lol. Or maybe it is because you can see how real someone is when they try to eat this yummy burger without swallowing it whole bc it's that good! And the chili cheese fries are a yes and amen give me a second round!! Can't eat here every day unfortunately but a nice cheat treat! The ambience is great, cold in off season times as it is a warehouse vibe but just bring a jacket. Open environment with communal seating and very high ceilings, a large bar, outdoor seating with lighting at night and cool clientele. Definitely a cool chill hot spot. The service was great as well. The woman at Lovely's was so excited that it was my first time she gave me all the tips! My goddaughter got the ice cream swirl cone and loved it! It was very large! We will definitely be back! My godbaby wants to be a chef and loves doing Yelp reviews and did one while there because this is one of her fav Oakland spots. Thankful she hipped me to it! Parking, not so much, walk or Uber/Lyft/something! I'll for sure be back! Those homemade fries are everything! Perfect combo of seasoning, grass fed meat and just enough cheese. Delish! Well done folks! Hats off

WOW! The hype is definitely real at Lovely's. If you were thinking of trying, definitely come visit. They have communal seating outdoors & the brewery has seating inside as well. This is a family friendly spot which is cool. I suggest coming early if you want to avoid the long lines that start forming when It starts to get later in the day. However the line does go pretty fast! I ordered the drive thru and made it a double and oh my gosh it was packed with ingredients! Everything was fresh the meat was seasoned perfectly it was a solid burger. My boyfriend & I also ordered the Fish sandwich to share and it was a boujier better version of the fish filet from McDonalds. I'll definitely order that one again, all it needed was some hot sauce! My boyfriend ordered the Westerner and that burger was huge! We also got order of the chili cheese fries, it was ok, nothing crazy. All in all i'll definitely be back again!

Smashburgers, beers, outdoor and indoor seating, kid friendly. For me the burger is solid but not the best but I like the vibe of the place.

Light dusting of spice on my hot chicken sandwich for the perfect "medium" spice level

tldr: Lovely's lives up to the hype! I always get the Drive Thru Burger, and it is phenomenal. Everything from the perfectly cooked patty with those classic crispy, lacy edges, to the soft bun and the special sauce--it is the definition of what a smash burger should be. I've gone back at least 10 times for it ! Side note about their chicken sandwich that my partner orders all the time. She gets the spicy and most times it's very spicy. There have been a few times when it was (in my opinion) the perfect level, right between medium and hot, but that was an anomaly and most of the times it's just been very hot. Now for the reality check on a weekend evening: I got in line around 7:00 PM on a Saturday, and the wait was exactly what you should expect for a spot this popular. I waited for about 20 minutes just to place my order. While the line moves steadily, be prepared to practice patience! Update, 2 weeks later: I had a chat with them after visiting again and they were able to adjust the level of spice dust on my hot chicken sandwich to get it absolutely perfect for my taste

Coney island dog, hot chicken sandwich, the drive thru
    Christine B.

What's there to dislike? I feel like the Coney dog is my favorite chili cheese dog in the bay. I've been to the Oakland one and the SF one and every time I go I need to get a chili cheese dog. Hot chicken sandwich was also AMAZING. Stayed nice and crispy on my walk back home. It was just the right amount of dry spice too, top tier seasoning skills. No complaints on the burger either - just an ideal burger that you can stuff your face in. Fries are perfectly salty - the best accompaniment to this meal. It gets pretty crowded, but it's worth the wait to me. It's super nice sitting outdoors next to the brewery if it's not too chilly out. I hope I can come earlier to try the fish sando one day!

The food was good, I've been wanting to come for a while now finally made our way down because The Teen and I were going to First Sunday at OMCA. It took a few laps around the block to find a parking space and almost gave up, but we didn't obviously. Counter service was good, there was a lot of people, but not too much to handle. Love the outdoor sitting space and the tunes that brought me back to the 80's. Me: The OG, corn fritters & water She: The chicken sandwich with swine & water Us: Fries The burger was OK surprisingly as long as I've been wanting to come here I was hoping for more, the fries could've been cooked just a minute and a half more, the fritters though stole the show. The Teen enjoyed the chicken sandwich, but got a little tummy ache later.. I might go back to try the cheese fries, but only if I could find parking immediately. I'm giving this place 3 yumms up and I hope to come back!

Absolutely love Lovely's! We've been here many times and even better it's attached to Two Pitcher's Brewing (because what goes better with burgers than beers). The burgers are always solid! It's a tasty smash burger and some different options for toppings. My favorite is always The Westerner (bbq sauced - used to have onion rings but now it's crispy shallots) or the Drive Through (more classic burger toppings). The only con could be the long line for the food (but pro tip, have a friend grab you a beer while you wait). Tried the corn fritters for the first time recently and they were also bomb. I got the hot dog for my son which was also good, but I'd say the burgers is where it's at/what Lovely's is known for. The chicken sandos are also good! There's plenty of outdoor seating and indoor though it can get really crowded on Friday's and weekends. Only street parking. Highly recommend coming here for a chill city brewery vibe or popular for happy hour!

This was the perfect lunch after a long walk around lake Merit! I ordered the hot chicken and it was so good! The fried chicken was perfectly tender, not dried out at all. And the fry on it was light and crispy and didn't taste greasy. It was definitely spicy, but well within my spice tolerance. Flavorful without being punishing. The slaw was a perfect counterpoint. This sandwich was perfect, I just wish it was a larger serving since it was $15. The boyfriend ordered the drive thru and added on bacon. I thought it was a good burger, but I liked my fried chicken sandwich more. Boyfriend also thought the sandwich was better. It just had more texture and flavor. We ordered fries with the works and omg im so glad we ordered it. That was the best cheese sauce I've had all year! The service was nice. When I went to pick up my order they were totally cool about giving me extra napkins and ketchup. I liked the outdoor beer garden seating and the line of craft booths. It felt like a vibrant market and was just a nice place to enjoy good food. I was lucky enough to score a table in the shade, which probably made all the difference. I'll definitely come back sometime and order two hot chicken sandwiches when I do!

Classic burger with a Two Pitchers brew
    Alyson C.

Since moving to Oakland, we've been told numerous times that this place is a staple... almost quintessentially the Town. It's a small spot, so when we first tried going and driving there, it was a bust. Definitely don't expect great parking, and take public transit if possible. The line was long to get burgers, but the great part is that you can grab a beer with your friend and drink in line! Two Pitchers had great brews to pair with the burgers, and though we waited about an hour in line (on a Friday night), we got our burgers super quick after ordering. That smash burger is incomparable. Everyone was right -- it was absolutely delectable and just the perfect greasy little thing for a beer + burger night. I'm coming back for sure!

    Aileen Z.

I don't know why it took me so long to try Lovely's... but I'm so glad I did! The burgers are so good and the seating is perfect for summer outdoors. There's also a connecting brewery bar where you can grab drinks(: here are the things I had: The OG: 10/10 the onion is cooked to perfection! This burger is a good size if you're not as hungry or have a smaller appetite The drive thru: 9/10 the sauce they use is super tasty Chili cheese fries: 6/10 my bf enjoyed this so maybe it's a me thing? I thought the chili was dry I came on a Friday and the line moved quickly and there was plenty of seating. Street parking is a little scarce in the area.

    Spicy chicken sandwich
    Liz S.

Great casual gathering spot with drinks and food. I love the outdoor patio area but if you're feeling more inside vibes there is cute seating inside as well. The burgers are fresh and delicious. The spicy chicken sandwich is actually spicy so get a side of ranch if spice is hard for you. My only complaint is the western burger use to have an onion ring and now replaced with tiny fried shallots huge downgrade. Cute Photo Booth inside!

My friend and I attended an event at a bar nearby and were thrilled to see this place had just opened for dinner as we walked by. Burgers can only be ordered if seated and we were lucky that there were two seats open at the counter. Ordering was quick, and the menu was simple. We both ordered the Drive-Thru burger, a bottled drink, and an order of fries to share. It took about 15 minutes for us to receive our order. The fries were good, but nothing special. The burgers were delicious, and the burger patties were cooked well, with just the right amount of seasoning. I thought the burgers were on the small side, but it was otherwise enjoyable. The staff was friendly and I loved the relaxed vibe of this place. It is a small space, so expect to wait if you arrive during prime meal times.

    Veronica L.

One star off because they sold out of the fish options but the burgers and fries we got were good, as was the swirl soft serve. Nice that they allow you to prepay and get the soft serve after you're done eating so you don't have to wait in the sometimes very long lines to order. Love that I can pair the food from here with the delicious radler from Two Pitchers Brewing, which also has a nice indoor seating area with a corner booth.

Parking is a bit difficult but we managed to find street parking a block away. Wasn't too crowded and there was plenty of seating inside. You order first and you find a table to sit, and they bring out the food to you. Self serve water is available. The food came out pretty quick! Thoughts: - Lobster roll (classic) was delicious! Generous amount of lobster. Would definitely get this again. Chips weren't too great though. - Fried shrimp basket was nice. Shrimp was crispy and tasty. Fries were also very crispy and flavorful. The sauces go well with the shrimp/fries. Coleslaw isn't the best though. - The crab nachos were surprisingly good. A nice cheese sauce combo with pico/avocado crema and a good amount of crab. - Garlic noodles were fine, nothing standout about them. - Mix and match basket with catfish, cod, and calamari (not pictured): Catfish was solid (would highly recommend, one of the favorites of the meal!), but would pass on the cod and calamari - a bit dry/fishy. Would recommend for a casual spot for seafood and a nice view!

Anyone remember the Jack London Village that they tore down to build this end of the development? Anyways - this is a fast casual type spot, where you order from the counter, place the little number sign on your table and wait for it to be delivered. The menu is your standard seafood joint by the water type, with all the usual suspects represented. Fried fish, shrimp, chowder, seafood pastas--if you've ever been to a seaside seafood joint, chances are good that the menu here is exactly like the one you remember seeing at the countless other places like this one. I noticed right off the bat that their pricing structure was on the high side - with a $17 burger and fries option, with the bulk of the fried seafood options in the $22-25 range. A cheaper choice might be the $16 fish tacos (two of them) but I kind of draw the line at paying $8 for a single taco. Our table ordered a few of the fried options plus a few soda beverages. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and I noticed that the silver metal trays that the food comes on is a bit on the small side, especially considering the prices for each dish. The fried shrimp dish was a big scoop of mega-salty french fries, and 3 average sized deep fried shrimp. Yes - 3 as in 1, 2, 3. That's what - $7+ a shrimp? The two fried fish platters weren't much better portion-wise. My deep fried cod consisted of three modest sized fish-fingers, and not the single luscious chunk of perfectly fried cod I had imagined in my head when ordering. They were fine - but very average and nothing that stood out as life-changing or something to write home about. As mentioned earlier, they must be employing the Little Rascals method where they over salt everything, in hopes that you'll order another beverage to wash down the copious mounts of sodium (I figure about 4+ days worth). The fried catfish platter that rounded out our order was more of the same - thin meager portions of fish on a large bed of mega-salted fries. Small plastic containers of generic pre-made tartar sauce and coleslaw can with each platter. The coleslaw was fine - just very forgettable and perhaps a tad on the flavorless/watery side. All said, was it okay? Yes. Was it anything outstanding that I'd crave and plan my return to have again? No. It is in line with touristy by-the-Sea seafood places that charge an extra couple of bucks because they're "on the water"? Pretty much. You're paying for the view and the 'scene' of sitting on the patio out front to people watch, and not for the food. I kind of hate these places and normally try my best to stay away from them, but every once in awhile, you gotta put on your tourist hat and join the mindless flock. A meager 2 stars outta 5 from me. Instead, I'd stroll around this area on a Sunday when they hold the farmer's market (again - is not what it used to be) and then drive through the tube to Alameda where great dining spots are numerous on Park Street. You can stop at Crab Cove and Crown Beach on the way, for more touristy sightseeing.

A search on this website resulted in Marica having it on their menu. He booked a 7:30 PM reservation for two. We arrived early. What started out as a not too pleasant experience for us was the attitude of the guy who greeted us when we entered the restaurant. Attitude bordered on rudeness (3 star). We somewhat tolerated it, not knowing what to expect next. The restaurant was filled with diners, and the only available seating was not far from the front door. Oh, the chill was in the air, and my not wearing a sweater and/or light jacket to stay warm had me shivering. I had to brave the element (LOL). Since there was no Chilean sea bass on their daily special menu, it took a little longer for my companion and I to peruse the menu, and decide what entrees we were willing to have. Usually I would order an Arnold Palmer as a beverage; however, this time I decided to be adventurous - reisling peach spritz please - to whet my appetite. My date had the Temescal pilsner. Eats: Grilled salmon arange ginger saffron blanc beurre, roasted potatoes and vegetables. Korean short ribs, honey garlic gochujang marinade, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Our meals were on point and bomb-diggity delicious. The arange ginger saffron was perfect with the carrot. It reminded me of glazed carrots. The green beans were fresh and not overcooked. Ooh, the Korean pork ribs were tender and that sauce was sweet and had a subtle kick of spiciness. (Definitely a perfect complement for the pork ribs.) I have to admit the chef knew how to burn. Food tasted so good that figuratively speaking y'all gotta slap the cook and his mama. Ambiance: Comfy and casual. Despite the dining area is small, still it is a great restaurant for dining on a Friday evening. From my perspective and vivid imagination with the indoor lighting, it exuded a romantic atmosphere. Only in my mind I can hear soft jazz in the background. What convinced me to give Marica a 5 star rating? It was none other than Enriqueta, our waitress. She was pleasant, attentive and so accommodating. The chef lost our order ticket; thus, the wait time for our meal took a bit longer than we anticipated. She came to the rescue and comped us with dessert - chocolate souffle with homemade vanilla ice cream. It certainly was a gesture of kindness to have my date and me smiling from ear to ear. Return visit? Yes, mos def...not the rapper for Chilean sea bass. Enriqueta said I can always call to find out what their daily special is.

Ordered the clam chowder, dozen oysters and fish & chips with a glass of mystery orange wine. Decided to sit outside in the back patio. Table was dirty from previous guest which usually doesn't bother me be ut little things started adding up. Service took a while. Oysters came out first. 20 min. They were fresh and delicious. Just enough to get the palette opened up. $46 though? Way overpriced but was willing to overlook since it is Mother's Day. Next up - clam chowder, 10 min after they took the tray for the oysters. Smallest bowl I ever saw. Flavor was good. Temperature was luke warm. Broth was thin. $10. Not worth it. Last was the fish and chips. 10 min after picking up the chowder bowl. Portion looked good enough to make up for the small clam chowder, except it was under seasoned. Fish texture was a bit dry too. Fries were meh. Between the overall vibe...the overpriced items...the time between dishes...and the lack of flavor, I will continue my search for an oyster spot in this neighborhood.

Hog Island is one of the only places that I trust for fresh oysters. Their preparation process is clean and safe and I've never gotten sick. The salsa that comes with the oysters elevates the flavor even more and their oysters taste refreshing with no fishy taste at all. Their clam chowder is also the absolute best. Forget Boston clam chowder or Pike's Place-this place is the real deal with fresh clams still in the shell, potatoes, and carrots in a light, flavorful broth. They even split the clam chowder for you, which is such a nice touch. Everything else on the menu is great too-go wild. Came on a Thursday night at 6 pm and waited 10 minutes for a table of 5. Food came quickly. We parked in the Embarcadero Center.

And no matter how old I am, that feeling never goes away. I get giddy like a school kid coming here, almost skipping if not literally running for this building! I saw this place the last time I was here and made it a point to come back on my next trip to SF. The views from this restaurant are epic and just absolutely gorgeous. You see, I love raw oysters and its one of my faborite things to eat, so this was a pure delight to come here. At 7:10pm, there was a line waiting to get in (the place supposedly closes at 8pm), so I hopped in line, hoping everything would work out. As I was a party of one, it was easy. I was lead to the back bar in less than 5 min, so no wait for me! Bartender was excellent and great service. I love when a service industry person gets it because you see I once too was a waitress and so I know what it means to be a good server. He was attentive when he needed to be, not intrusive despite my being so up close to him and just got it all right. I started off with a Blood in the Water cocktail. I like mezcal and like it a lot. Im not an alcoholic, but when mezcal is on the menu, it makes my heart sing. I must be a true Sonoran at heart haha. This was basically a Michelada with a smoky mezcal flavor, I liked it. But for $16, I will pass next time and try another mezcal based drink (which I saw plenty on the menu). Next, it was time for some seafood, which this place is known for. I was torn between raw oysters, the catch of the day or some chowda (as it was cold when I visited). In the end, I chose to only have a half dozen of raw oysters. Why did I make that choice? Because, I was led to the back bar and I was not facing the water at all and I had literally no view of the beautiful water and ferries, so I decided I would check out their raw oysters this time and dip out for a nice walk by the water. I had the Sweetwater (2), Highwater (2), Olympia (1) and Ritherdon Beach (1) oysters. I like buttery oysters and not too briny and so my favorites were the Sweetwater and Highwater, they were excellent. The oysters were really good and fresh! One weird thing here and maybe its cuz I am weird is that horseradish doesnt come automatically with the oysters. And when they brought it, it was dried horseradish and not fresh horseradish. I thought that was strange, but maybe its a Vivian problem, not this place. Overall, a great experience here. I deducted one star because I was facing my review wasnt of the water but everything else was excellent. I will be back again and this time, I will ask to have a seat where I can see the water. The line was definitely worth it to get in here.

Okay but how did I forget about this place??…read more Went to Scott's for a Friday work lunch that turned into a mini reunion with friends I hadn't seen in a while. It was decently busy, a mix of the retiree marina crowd and work lunch groups, but still relaxed enough for us to really sit and catch up without feeling rushed. The vibe is casual upscale. Grown, but not stuffy. The weather absolutely showed off. Blue sky, sun out, overlooking the water...it felt like we timed it perfectly. Not guna lie, I had been stalking the menu all morning before our lunch trying to decide what I wanted. We started with the seafood trio appetizer; calamari, salmon cakes, and lightly breaded shrimp. Perfect size for sharing, crispy without being heavy. And they bring complimentary bread and butter, which I will always say yes to. It had been a week, so obviously I ordered an espresso martini, tequila (of course). I reluctantly said yes to Kahlúa and it leaned a little more "milky" than I prefer, good, just adjusting next time. I ordered the stuffed crab salmon with mashed potatoes and vegetables and it was bomb. Bomb bomb bomb. Great portion size and I left my plate CLEAN. Okayyy. They had cute little Valentine's arrangements on the tables which was a sweet touch without doing too much. Service was great and attentive, we didn't feel rushed, and the whole lunch just reminded me this place deserves more attention in my life. Definitely coming back.

The salad had feta, strawberries and walnuts!!! Then I had the chimichurri steak and lobster ! The steak was cooked perfectly and it was tender and tasteful!! The sauce was the best !! We also ordered the ravioli bc I was craving pasta and it was also really tasty and good portion to share! My dessert, a tart, was in the shape of a heart and the frosting was pure sweetness! They had the pianist playing and the vibe was full of heartfelt love throughout- saw many couples and families taking their elder mothers out and it was heartwarming! I liked my cocktails for the most part but kinda disappointed that all their "flavors" are commercial syrups not fresh.

Their menu has changed since what is online - no more steelhead trout or mussels. I'm sorry that I didn't take a picture. For four, here is what we ordered: 6 Pacific Cocktail Oysters Smoked Fish Dip Roasted Asparagus Salad Cod with Morels and Asparagus (not on current online menu - delicious and I'd order again) Half Fried Chicken with All the Fixin's Rize Up Sourdough We had the BEST time and it was all super delicious. Our waitress was also kind in dealing with my (can be difficult in a Boomer way) dad. I'm sorry that I didn't take a picture of the fried chicken but the ones on Yelp are accurate. It was enough for us to share (two drumsticks and a wing and a thigh). The collards were SO good and vinegar-y which is how I like them. The standout for me was the asparagus salad. Run, do not walk.

The staff was very attentive but not in a pushy way. Water refills, plating changes, and other questions were handled very promptly. 5 stars for service. The appetizers were excellent. We had the asparagus salad and the fish crudo. Each had a unique flavor profile that we have not tried before. 5 stars for both. Makes me want to try more from that side of the menu. The mains were a bit of a letdown. The fried chicken was a little dry. We got all the "fixins"and, though they were innovative, it was all very savory. Way too much savory. Even something simple as a honey butter for the biscuits would help cut through that. My wife got the mussels. Good, but again super savory. Partially our fault for getting two very savory dishes but a balanced dish should have a balance of flavor profiles. 3 stars for mains. Overall, a great experience. If I went back, I'd just get all the apps.
