    SEC Biscuit
    Valerie G.

Best biscuits I've ever had. The best thing is that they are just about the right size so you don't feel too full! We got the SEC sandwich and the blueberry and goat cheese biscuit. Both were delicious and paired well together. The seating is in a very beautiful natural light space, good for smaller groups and the service is absolutely amazing. They are super attentive even if you are taking food to-go! Will definitely be back when we're in Oakland next!

My boyfriend saw this spot on Instagram and decided he needed to know if it was worth the hype and it absolutely was. When we got there, they were busy, but actively let folks know where they were in line. By the time we were seated, we both knew what we wanted and ordered Arnold Palmer's and our breakfast sandwiches, along with a side of sausage gravy, and everything was delicious. The Arnold Palmer has the perfect balance, not to heavy on either the lemonade or sweet tea. The sandos were incredible and the biscuit was hardy enough to hold the sandwich. We sat at high tops by the window and it made for good people watching. The staff were also super friendly. We're already excited to go back!

We stopped by to pick up up our order on a Saturday morning. We ordered 2 biscuit sandwiches and one order of the potato's. Our order came out to $24 The biscuits were really good, tasted very fresh. These sandwiches are good and I wish this business much success!

Town Biscuits is in a shared restaurant space but it feels like its own little world. The space is beautiful and inviting with modern accents that contrast perfectly with the mismatched floral plates and mason jars filled with flowers. It gives off a charming, country-esque vibe, fitting for the biscuits they serve. The biscuits were buttery and flaky without falling apart. They actually had substance. The jam had subtle hints of lemon and wasn't overly sweet, it was a perfect balance. The fried chicken was juicy and nicely breaded...not too thick or heavy. And let's talk about the potatoes. They looked burnt/overcooked at first glance, but they were anything but. Crunchy on the outside, perfectly cooked inside, and seasoned just right with Cajun spices. Service was attentive and friendly, and the Chef even stopped by to say hello.

This is a small restaurant in downtown Oakland. We came on a Friday and it was pretty busy with customers seated inside and others waiting for takeout orders. We were taking our food to go. It took around fifteen minutes to get our food. They called our names, but then they left the counter. So, we had to read all of the names on all of the to-go orders to find ours. But it was no big deal. We found our food, and we left. The biscuits were very good, although they were smaller than expected. The chicken was delicious and the bacon and eggs were good. I was disappointed in the grits because they were not seasoned, but the consistency was pretty good.

My husband and I have been to Town Biscuits twice now, and our experiences have been mixed. My husband really likes their plain biscuit, but I usually get the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich. The sausage and egg are genuinely good; the egg tastes like something I'd scramble at home, not the rubbery pre-made kind. But the biscuit itself is just not for me. It's very buttery, very salty, and pretty small for a $9 sandwich. The real shocker is the gravy. A side of gravy is $6, which already feels high. The first time, it was extremely watery. The second time, they only filled the cup halfway and it was overly salty. For that price, it should be consistent and actually filled. There are things they do well, but between the portion sizes, the saltiness, and the gravy situation, it hasn't quite justified the cost for me.

Was looking for a good breakfast biscuit sandwich for quite some time and decide to give Town Biscuits. The location of the restaurant is on a narrow street between Telegraph and Broadway so parking is pretty limited. There is also limited seating in the restaurant itself so we decided to place to go orders. We kept it simple, ordering both a sausage and bacon with egg and cheese along with a side of crispy potatoes. The kitchen was a bit backed up so it took about 25 minutes but wow was it worth it ! Price points were super reasonable, about half the price of a majority of other places ! Talk about well seasoned with proper texture and flakiness, both the sandwiches and potatoes were oh so good and exceeded my expectations. Will be back for sure.... gimme some more !!!

This spot is a secret gem. Perfect for a lowkey breakfast or brunch. The biscuits are incredible - light, fluffy, flavorful with a crunchy outside. Make sure to ask if there are any off menu specials. We were lucky that our waiter told us about the chicken friend steak biscuit Staff is super friendly too

I love biscuit sandwiches and I'm so glad there's finally one in the town. I finally got the chance to stop by... location can definitely be hard to find parking and the street is small so when I pulled up there was a car double parked and some other car half way pulled over and blocked the other side so I couldn't even go around them even after I honked no one wanted to move to make space for me . Definitely wanted a dine experience. Ended up going to Korean plaza and ordering online due to lack of parking. Estimated pickup was 20 minutes. Came back 25 minutes later and was told it would be an additional 10-15 minutes. They were nice enough to bring it to our car though! I had tried this place through DoorDash originally and thought it was cool. Grits were okay in my opinion. This time I ordered 2 sausage biscuit sandwiches, 2 bacon biscuit sandwiches, and a side of biscuit and gravy. And it was honestly fire. The biscuits were soft and fluffy and the sausage was salty which I liked. I've never had sausage gravy like this before and it was super flavorful. Would definitely be coming back and hoping to dine in next time.

Biscuits & gravy, home fries and goat cheese & jam biscuit.
    Kelsey L.

Awesome biscuits! I ordered the biscuits & gravy and my friend ordered the goat cheese & jam biscuit with a side of home fries. This was some of the best biscuits and gravy that I've ever had. Very flavorful and no greasy aftertaste that gravy can sometimes have. Side note, they do not serve espresso drinks here. Only drip coffee. It's a cute little location with minimal seating. I would recommend to get here early, as it was already filling up quickly at 10am on a Friday. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only downside of this location is that parking is very hard to find and the street is very narrow with box trucks blocking part of the street.

Really Solid spot. The sage biscuit sandwich was solid and I will visit again one day. The staff were amazing and the establishment is nice and clean ! The DONT ACCEPT CASH !!!

Love the biscuits here! We got two different kinds and I will say the sausage biscuit was my favorite .The potatoes also had so much flavor.

Wooooow this spot is blowing up for a reason! The biscuits are just heavenly, savory, fluffy and buttery just as a biscuit should be. We ordered pick up on a Saturday morning and it was pretty busy already 30 minutes after they opened. The casual spot has counter service where you can order to eat in or pick up. We got a fried chicken biscuit, bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich, and a side of biscuits with apple butter, strawberry jam and gravy. The sandwiches weren't huge, could probably eat them in 4-6 bites if you take big bites but my goodness were they tasty! The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, and the bacon egg and cheese biscuit was delicious with some great herbs seasoning in the eggs. The side of gravy was deliciously savory, the apple butter with the biscuit tasted like apple pie, and the strawberry jam was sweet and a little tart. I loved the balance of the jam though my husband found it a little sour for his taste. I also appreciate they have honey, hot sauce and ketchup packets available to go with the food, if you want a little extra flavor! We WILL be back.

I liked it so much that I brought it home, and my partner said it tasted like refried beans (though he did have them cold). The crusty warm bread was perfect for dipping, and I ended up not being able to finish it. The chai was pretty milky; there was a tea bag and the spices weren't very strong. Then again, I'm used to Indian chais. I would pass on the chai. There was basically no one else there on a Friday afternoon during off-peak hours. By the time we had actually received our food, almost an hour had passed. While we were waiting, a few other servers eventually joined, but service was still pretty bare for us and we never received refills on water or plates to eat off of when we received our food. I understand that staffing and a backup in the kitchen are out of the staff's control, but it would've definitely helped for us to know in advance how long to expect to wait to align our expectations and arrange our plans for the day. Would advise giving customers a quick heads up/warning because that on its own would've made a big difference. As for the actual food, we ordered the mac trio with elote mac, chicken pot pie mac, and kogi short rib mac (for an extra fee). The elote mac was the best and most flavorful, the short rib mac was okay but not amazing or worth the extra money, and the chicken pot pie mac was very bland/flavorless and didn't have much chicken in it. The food didn't feel like it warranted the wait time and because of that I would not return.

The smashed patties are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The supporting elements are quality and executed spot-on each time: the cheese, grilled onions, and mayo. It's a perfect fast casual burger. I also recently tried the Chopped Beef burger and dang it was amazing. The hearty meat and cheese the and buttery bread texture hit hard. This will be another go-to and I recommend it. For sides I've gotten tator tots, regular fries, and season fries. All fantastic and they're generous with the portions. HOWEVER -- you've gotta get the seasoned fries. Addictive and finger-licking amazing. When dining in staff is always friendly. Area's not too busy and you'll always find parking easily down a side street. And price wise it honestly feels like a steal for me given the care and quality and pure satisfaction. Works for me though -- I'm going to keep ordering from this place. Cannot recommend this gem of a burger joint enough. Fantastic seasoning and execution, solid prices, and absolutely satisfying every time.

I ordered the turkey club and it was honestly huge. You can see in the photo how big it is compared to my hand. It was stacked and super satisfying, the kind of sandwich that definitely fills you up. We also shared a deviled egg and some fried zucchini to start, which were great little bites before the main dish. The zucchini was crispy and light, and the deviled egg was simple but really good. I paired everything with a mocha latte that was perfectly balanced and honestly superb. Overall it was a ten out of ten brunch moment. Between the sunny weather, good coffee, and really satisfying food, it was exactly what we were looking for. Definitely one of those spots I would come back to for brunch again.

This was me and my husband's first time at the restaurant and the food here was excellent…read moreeverything was very good and flavorful. I gave it to stars because the service was really bad. Our waitress took very long to even acknowledge us, didn't person herself to be very friendly, and lacked any attentiveness to us as customers. We had to ask other people for things like refills on our drinks, condiments, etc. She didn't ever really try to check to see how things were going after the food was served and we had to ask someone else to pay. Unfortunately considering this experience my husband doesn't want to go back and I hate that for us because the food was really good.
