Saw the owners on the local news. The food looked really good. It's hard to find a good breakfast biscuit. From the outside,it looks like a warehouse. There's street parking,but we saw people already double parking in front picking up to go orders. We ended up a couple of blocks away. We walked up and were seated right away. I guess most get the food to go. They have enough tables to seat about 30 people. The waiter brought water and menus. He came back and quickly took our orders.. we got a mix of item to try family style. My favorite was the biscuits and gravy. Thick flaky biscuit, creamy sausage gravy,lots of cracked pepper. We walked in on a Saturday around 11:30am and we were able to find street parking right away. When we walked in, they told us if we wanted to dine in we could sit down and they would take our order at the table. If you're taking to go obviously you order at the cash register. We also got lucky because we found an available table to sit at immediately. The waitress came over immediately, and we decided to order one fried chicken biscuit, one bacon cheese and egg biscuit, and the waitress recommended the biscuits and gravy so I got that as well as one of the home fries to share and we got coffee all around. The food came out in minutes and everything was so fresh and delicious. The gravy was chunky with the sausage and the biscuits were warm and flaky. I'm excited to go back and try other options on the menu. Fried chicken was also crispy to perfection. My husband and I have been to Town Biscuits twice now, and our experiences have been mixed. My husband really likes their plain biscuit, but I usually get the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich. The sausage and egg are genuinely good; the egg tastes like something I'd scramble at home, not the rubbery pre-made kind. But the biscuit itself is just not for me. It's very buttery, very salty, and pretty small for a $9 sandwich. The real shocker is the gravy. A side of gravy is $6, which already feels high. The first time, it was extremely watery. The second time, they only filled the cup halfway and it was overly salty. For that price, it should be consistent and actually filled. The side of gravy was deliciously savory, the apple butter with the biscuit tasted like apple pie, and the strawberry jam was sweet and a little tart. I loved the balance of the jam though my husband found it a little sour for his taste. There's no sign on the building so keep your eyes peeled! The establishment is a small space but the environment is warm and welcoming without realizing how small it actually is. Upon entering you can be seated or place your order and wait outside for it to be ready. The hostess was friendly and because she was I decided to stay and have a seat at the window! The space was already set with a dainty little saucer to hold the flatware. It was a cute added touch! The waiter was prompt and willing to offer suggestions. The food was delicious. The bacon egg and cheese had bacon in every bite! The biscuit did it's thing by holding everything together without falling apart! It was moist and flaky and yes I could of had another one! The consistency of the grits were pretty much perfect! No problem there. My two "complaints" are the cheese looked and had the texture of that cheese that's wrapped in the plastic film that will break apart if you don't unwrap it correctly. Also, if the water for the grits had of been salted just a little bit more the flavor of the grits would of been 10/10. Overall, this place is a must for you to try. I ordered from Town Biscuit this morning . I had grits and a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and an Arnold Palmer. The biscuit was delicious, but not very tall. That means you get the crispy outside of the biscuit but not much fluffy interior. The taste was a wonderful memory for a southern girl. Need more salt in the grits and less sugar in the Arnold Palmer. I will definitely will order again. My only real regret is they no longer have Blue Ridge Mountain country ham.
