Greta brunch spot for families. Menu skews Mexican. You can order your eggs many ways. Food tasted great. You would think the wait is long bc the place was packed on a weekend but we didn't have to wait at all. The service is lightning fast which is probably why.

A local breakfast location with very nice decore, ample seating, attentive service and fast order to table. I suggest making a reservation rather than do the San Fran-wait outdoors. This place runs like a well oiled machine. From the time we came in and sat down I noticed 6 tables clear. We didn't spend any more then 40 min at the place. The food was unseasoned and cooked well, crunchy bacon and lightly toasted bread. Based purely on price I rate a 3.4 wears there was nothing that stood out and apart feom other places like this. I suggest going if you are in the area and want breakfast.

Lovely ambiance and nicely decorated and clean. Servers were very nice and we attended with a 2 yo, everyone was very nice and baby got a coloring egg page and crayons. We wanted a sweet coffee and they offered to add brown sugar to our latte and it was yummy. Chilaquiles weren't as flavorful as we expected. Eggs Benedict bread and crab cake were on the sweeter side so not a favorite for me but the potatoes were very yummy. Would definitely go back but order a different Benedict. Line was good for a sat morning. Fair wait. Lots of families too.

Came here on a whim with my bestie who lives in Oakland. We actually walked here from her house. The restaurant was in a cozy shopping area of Montclair. Lots of busy patriots all in the area, shopping and lining up to be seating for their fave restaurant. There is only all street parking so good luck. We waited about 30 plus min. It's easier and faster wait with only two people. The restaurant itself is small and not many large tables for groups. We both ordered their crab Benedict. It was pretty good. Decent price. Didn't get to try other things but wouldn't mind coming back to try other dishes. This is only open for brunch hours only. Service was very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. I won't mind coming back if in the area. [91R,2015]

I love coming to the egg shop, it's always busy I definitely recommend joining the waitlist ahead of time it's busy for a reason. The staff is very friendly and attentive, coffee is strong and amazing. Food is delicious I come here at least once or twice a month. The ambiance sits well with a homey vibe.

We came in on a fairly busy Saturday afternoon. Usually when we show up earlier there's a line, so this time we tried coming a bit later. Good news: no wait. Bad news: we were seated at a table right next to the bathroom. Unfortunately, there's only one unisex restroom, and the steady line of people waiting kind of took away from the vibe. Honestly, that's the only thing keeping this from being a five-star experience. That said, our waitress was absolutely fantastic. Super attentive and kept my iced tea topped off the entire meal without me having to ask. My friend ordered the Juneau Eggs Benedict and loved it, and my omelette was just as delicious. The menu offers a solid variety and everything is reasonably priced. The interior is surprisingly spacious, clean, and feels a bit more upscale than your typical breakfast spot, which was a nice surprise. We're big fans of Montclair Village and all the dining options it offers, but somehow we always find ourselves coming back here. It's become our go-to for a reason.

Iconic breakfast institution in Montclair Village in Oakland featuring hearty plates of traditional food. Eggs and bacon, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, corned beef hash, potato pancakes, salmon scramble and many more (big menu!). They also have a nice line of Mexican favorites like Chorizo sausage scramble (very good), Chilaquiles (very good), breakfast tacos, and, of course, Huevos Rancheros (they have a nice Ranchera sauce). They even have 5 variations on brunch Benedicts (eggs Benedict variations). The service is very good and the dishes arrive pretty quickly. Be forewarned that on the weekends this place is crowded and my only minor complaint is that the waiting area is tiny, so you often have to wait outside in the cold (sometimes for a long time, depending on how badly you want to get in). I recommend this place for a very nice, hearty tasty breakfast or brunch!

Yesterday was one of those days that cooking didn't seem like a good idea. We stumbled into this place while browsing through Yelp, and apparently you can add yourself to the waitlist from the app! So by the time we arrived we didn't have to wait too long. If you do that I recommend you look at the menu before you are seated it makes an efficient experience. So I had the huevos rancheros, those were good, my Mrs had the scrambled eggs with potatoes those were also cool. She did say that one bread slice in halves wasn't enough bread, I say that for the price point I don't mind, the tab total was a good number. Place is decorated with trains and poems, a bit retro as well. I definitely recommend 5/5

Arrived at 9:15 Sunday morning and there were three parties ahead of us on the waitlist. We were seated within 5 mins. It has been a while since we have been back. The place is still bustling with great energy and service is still friendly. Food: gentle reminder that they don't salt their foods anticipating various needs. So remember to salt/pepper to taste as not to be surprised by the food's blandness. Best dish is their challah French toast. It's so good that my 12 yo stops talking just to chow down. Their pancakes are yummy. But they don't serve it on weekends due to lack of griddle space.

I've been to this place twice and always got the pesto crepe. The first time, the filling was a bit more generous. The taste was okay, but it wasn't exactly mind-blowing. I went back with some friends a few weeks ago, and the filling was about 15% less than the last time I had it, which was around 2-3 months ago. Overall, I'd give it a 6/10, especially since you have to wait a bit during brunch hours on the weekends.

4 stars! The wait to get a table was on the longer side, but once we were seated everything moved quickly. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out fast. Portion sizes were solid for the price, and everything tasted fresh. I really liked that they serve Peet's coffee and even have it iced -- such a nice upgrade from typical diner coffee. Overall, a good breakfast spot if you don't mind a bit of a wait!

Came by on a Sunday afternoon and found street parking right in front. There's a kiosk at the host stand to sign up for the waitlist, but the employee seated me immediately at a cozy little table right next to the fireplace, cuz I didn't have a group with me to require waiting. I admired the restaurant interior with simple decor and exposed brick walls. Ordered the "create your own" scramble (mushroom, green onion, pork sausage, cheddar), with grilled tomato and toast. It was a small dish, the egg scramble light on the toppings, and a single tiny slice of sourdough. But everything was tasty, especially the grilled tomato that came on the side. They forgot my diet soda, and I finished my meal before I could ask for it a second time. But it was fine, I got it taken off the bill. Staff was friendly, though not apologetic about forgetting my drink.

This is the salsa de Montclair. Simple yet so good!!!

We've been coming here for years. And theirs is the only place that we come to for breakfast. The service is great! The staff is super friendly. And they serve you food fast and hot! It's a nice homey feel to the restaurant. You can see the staff making your food which gives you an added comfort. I love this place! And will continue to come here for years to come!

I liked it so much that I brought it home, and my partner said it tasted like refried beans (though he did have them cold). The crusty warm bread was perfect for dipping, and I ended up not being able to finish it. The chai was pretty milky; there was a tea bag and the spices weren't very strong. Then again, I'm used to Indian chais. I would pass on the chai. There was basically no one else there on a Friday afternoon during off-peak hours. As a result, it took a while for them to be able to stop by our table and provide water, take our order, etc. There was quite a long wait between sitting down to ordering to actually receiving our food. By the time we had actually received our food, almost an hour had passed. While we were waiting, a few other servers eventually joined, but service was still pretty bare for us and we never received refills on water or plates to eat off of when we received our food. I understand that staffing and a backup in the kitchen are out of the staff's control, but it would've definitely helped for us to know in advance how long to expect to wait to align our expectations and arrange our plans for the day. Would advise giving customers a quick heads up/warning because that on its own would've made a big difference. As for the actual food, we ordered the mac trio with elote mac, chicken pot pie mac, and kogi short rib mac (for an extra fee). The elote mac was the best and most flavorful, the short rib mac was okay but not amazing or worth the extra money, and the chicken pot pie mac was very bland/flavorless and didn't have much chicken in it. The food didn't feel like it warranted the wait time and because of that I would not return.

This place might have become my favorite fast-casual burger joint in Oakland…read more Since my first review, I've enjoyed their food three more times -- in person once and DoorDash twice. And it's been satisfying and well worth it all three times. I recommend both dining in and delivery. You cannot go wrong with their double burger. The smashed patties are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The supporting elements are quality and executed spot-on each time: the cheese, grilled onions, and mayo. It's a perfect fast casual burger. I also recently tried the Chopped Beef burger and dang it was amazing. The hearty meat and cheese the and buttery bread texture hit hard. This will be another go-to and I recommend it. For sides I've gotten tator tots, regular fries, and season fries. All fantastic and they're generous with the portions. HOWEVER -- you've gotta get the seasoned fries. Addictive and finger-licking amazing. When dining in staff is always friendly. Area's not too busy and you'll always find parking easily down a side street. And price wise it honestly feels like a steal for me given the care and quality and pure satisfaction. Works for me though -- I'm going to keep ordering from this place. Cannot recommend this gem of a burger joint enough. Fantastic seasoning and execution, solid prices, and absolutely satisfying every time.

I ordered the turkey club and it was honestly huge. You can see in the photo how big it is compared to my hand. It was stacked and super satisfying, the kind of sandwich that definitely fills you up. We also shared a deviled egg and some fried zucchini to start, which were great little bites before the main dish. The zucchini was crispy and light, and the deviled egg was simple but really good. I paired everything with a mocha latte that was perfectly balanced and honestly superb. Overall it was a ten out of ten brunch moment. Between the sunny weather, good coffee, and really satisfying food, it was exactly what we were looking for. Definitely one of those spots I would come back to for brunch again.

This was me and my husband's first time at the restaurant and the food here was excellent…read moreeverything was very good and flavorful. I gave it to stars because the service was really bad. Our waitress took very long to even acknowledge us, didn't person herself to be very friendly, and lacked any attentiveness to us as customers. We had to ask other people for things like refills on our drinks, condiments, etc. She didn't ever really try to check to see how things were going after the food was served and we had to ask someone else to pay. Unfortunately considering this experience my husband doesn't want to go back and I hate that for us because the food was really good.
