Right portion for light eater The chicken empanadas is crispy and filled with chicken rip it off with a slice of tomato and a citrus taste very complementary to the empanadas when eaten in whole. The beef taco is Delors soft shredded beef. Great breakfast and lunch place next to the Oakland farmers market
Enjoyed trying their food out at First Friday Gilman in May. Fresh and tasty. Friendly service.
Stopped in for a quick lunch during conference weekend. Considering the length of the line- they moved at a pretty efficient pace. I ordered the Pescado taco and puerco enchilado & pineapple taco. While both were good, the puerco enchilado (al pastor essentially) was really dang good. Perfectly seasoned and filling. I'm hoping to try other new spots this weekend but may find myself back here for another.
Where to start...first off, we only came here to attend the little pop up they had along with a Dj from Los Angeles. We told ourselves it's only an hour away, so we went. The food, was Amazing!!! The lines were long, but they were super fast and efficient. I had the Chilaquiles and my wife had the Carnitas Platter. We also tried the fired plantains. When it comes to flavor, presentation, portion size, everything was Perfect.u wife had a cucumber lime aqua fresca, it was pretty good. I tried the Paloma, it's made with wine, not tequila, wasn't a fan of it. But I should have know it wouldn't taste the same. Along with the food and service, the restaurant is located inside a location where there are other restaurants/meat markets around there. With the event today it was cool to have the Dj playing music, all the people smiling and dancing, will definitely have to come back.
Service was good. Cute little place in the public market. The girl at the register was friendly and patient as we figured out what we wanted. We were there before the rush. We got chips and guacamole, coconut pescao ceviche, vegetarian mole, and beef barbacoa. The mole and barbacoa each came with a side of rice, beans, and 3 tortillas. The tortillas were nice and hot. Coconut ceviche was good but could kinda wish it had a little more seasoning. Chips and guac are standard.
I met a friend for lunch at a food court that has several dining options. The seating is shared, and we ordered food from two different restaurants--this was one of them. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the flavors were great. I'd definitely come back next time to try other dishes.
So good!! I had the passion fruit which was refreshing and the chicken tacos, which were sooo good! It came with a side of beans and it was nice and filling. I nearly devoured the entire plate before I realized I didn't snap a plate - oops! Btw, the lines are always long, but the staff work quickly, so you won't be waiting to order or waiting to receive your food long at all. So glad I was finally able to try this place! Check it out!
We came here during a weekday for lunch and this place was packed. There was line going out the door and it's odd that this place attracts so many different folks. We came as a party of 4 and ordered plenty of food. One friend got the enchiladas verdes, which they thought was pretty good. Another got the seafood in a cup (which they said was too spicy). I got a lot of vegetarian dishes - the cheese and raja tamales, the patano con mole taco, and the veggie empanadas. I thought the empanada was a little more on the plain side. And the platano mole taco didn't have a ton of mole on it. The taco was not my favorite - also more plain. The beans were a little too grounded for my taste. The guacamole and chips were generous and tasted really fresh. I'm glad they have vegetarian offerings but thought the dishes could have been better.

Plenty of seating in the food court but I guess each vendor has designated tables so staff will redirect you to new tables if you sit in areas that aren't "theirs". The empanada was delicious and the cocktail was too, I do forget the name of the cocktail I ordered.
Lovely restaurant inside of the Sean's Market building. I ordered the shrimp empanada special, which was a fried empanada filled with shrimp guisado. It was topped with guacamole, roasted salsa Verde, caggabe, onions, and tomato. It had a nice heat to it without being overpowering. I also ordered the pollo asado taco, which was grilled chicken topped with guacamole, pico de gallo, and a mild salsa Verde. While it looked small, there was a second tortilla underneath it so I separated the grilled chicken and toppings between the two tortillas which turned out to be the perfect amount of food. There was also a side of guacamole on the plate to enjoy. The restaurant offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There is inside and outside seating. You order at the counter and they give you a pager to let you know when your order is ready. Once you're done eating, just leave your dishes on the table and they will come by and pick them up. I would definitely return because the food was very delicious. I got there a little after 1 PM and there was still a short line in front of me to order food. It seems to be a very popular place to eat.
I came here by accident. I was stopping by another place which disappointed me once again with their lack of food and as I was turning to walk out I spotted this place. My sister saw a news article about them so I decided to go. Boy am I glad that I did. The cashier was very nice and patient as she took our order. The place was nice and clean and I got some cool pictures. I ordered two tacos - the pork with pineapple and the birria. They were both wonderful. They had two tortillas and were full of filling. If I had a fork I would have used it to reduce the amount of filling. It came with perfectly sliced radishes and a lime wedge. I ate the slices with my meal. I doused my tacos in lime juice before eating. I have been thinking about that pork taco since. It was that good. I wanted a third taco, but didn't want to pay for parking and wait. It took a while for the food to come. But when it arrived it was happy times. My husband ordered the birria taco and a chicken asado. Again, they were fantastic and he's hard to please. He had a beer with his and liked it. We had a nice seat by the window and they ask us to leave the dishes on the table so that they can bus them which is cool. I will definitely come back.
What's not to like about Las Guerrera's?! I've been here a few times for lunch and they consistently serve up some of the best Mexican food downtown. Their plates are big enough to keep you full through dinner and food is tastes homemade which means quality ingredients! The Beef Barbacoa plate is perfect, it's not too fatty and not too lean. Topped with the salsa and served with warm tortillas, the combination of flavors is perfect. The barbacoa had a slight kick but wasn't spicy at all and had the taste of fresh chiles. Make sure you get here a little bit early or after the lunch rush though because the line fills up quick.

I'm vegetarian (no eggs) and I don't eat onions or mushrooms. This place had 2-3 vegan options and it was good. Taco itself was good, and filling for me. The ambiance is great, I love that there are so many places there. And the service was good too. read more

We have been going to Las Guerreras for some time now and my usual meal is the chicken Pozole which is delicious. However, this visit I decided to try something different. I ordered the Mole. I requested half in half i.e. chicken and vegetables. They accommodated my request and I must say I was overjoyed. The chicken/vegetable combo with the rice on the side was delicious. The restaurant is inside of what's left of the old Housewives Market place and it can get a little crowded at times, there are other places to eat there, but it's well worth the visit. So, yes, we will continue to dine there. read more

I visited this restaurant for the first time last Thursday for a lunch and I purchased one off and one hard shell fish taco chips and salsa. Tacos are six dollars each and the chips and salsa also are six dollars. The soft taco comes with like a pico de gallo and there's some cabbage, but the hardshell come with like a aïoli spicy sauce And that was my favorite. The space that this restaurant is located is in the Swan's marketplace downtown OaklNd. The customer service was very pleasant, welcoming , and is open air and a lovely place to visit because there's lots of little restaurants and shops around. I then visited the shop again on the following day on Friday ordering two hard shell tacos because they are Amazing! I also had a shrimp empanada, which was the special that day and it was very good. read more

Decide your order as you wait in line, the line moves quickly so decide quick! Order and pay at the counter; they'll give you your drinks immediately and give you a pager so you can pick up your food order at the counter to the left. Outdoor and indoor dining available. This time I got the Plantains in molé taco and the Harvest tostada. They'll ask whether you want crema and cheese, so vegan/vegetarian friendly. Indulged in a little cafe de olla. Delish. Def would get the taco again - ripe plantains were perfectly cooked with caramelized edges, and the red molé and pickled onions went so well with. just a warning that it comes molten so I ate it with fork and knife (aka when food's so good you don't care what random strangers think of you not knowing how to eat tacos). The tostada was good but I wanted a bit of acidic hit and it really sang with some salsa verde. read more

Came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon, and they did not disappoint. Great options to sit down, either inside or in their outdoor patio. Their menu had variety, but not overwhelming so you're standing there wondering what the heck to order. I had the pescadilla (crispy fish taco) and wow, one of the best fish tacos I've had. I also had the aguachile verde, super tasty and enough for 2-4 depending on how hungry you are so a great dish to share. I can't wait to come back as there were several other things I wanted to try. read more

I've been looking for a good taco place in Oakland and I think I may have found it. I've been here twice and both times the food has been excellent. Fish tacos, the shrimp taco, and Barbacoa taco and all of them were really good. My favorite one is the crunchy shrimp and crunchy fish taco. Customer service was excellent. read more
I have been meaning to try this spot for a while and am so glad I finally got the chance. I believe they are most known for their fish tacos which they do with corn tortillas or with a crunchy hard shell tortilla. I opted for the crunchy fish tacos as I don't typically see that offered on restaurant menus. The tacos were delicious - I only got 2 but definitely wish I had ordered more. I came on a Friday afternoon during the farmers market so the line was super long but it moved fast and I got my food super quick which I was really pleased by. This place is order & seat your self. The ambiance is very fun and welcoming. We were trying other things in the market, but from Las Guerreras we ordered the Beef Barbacoa plate and it was super yummy! There's also plenty of outdoor seating if you wanted to bring your dog. read more

This place is soooo good. Real quality. You'll pay more yet will appreciate the value received... It's really that good! The plantain mole taco is a unique offering! All the other tacos, empanadas, tamales, aquas frescas... literal perfection! Highly recommended! read more

If u wanna eat tamales make sure u pre order or be in as soon as they open . Located in swans market place. Metered parking in this area .. I always come for the pozole verde.. omg it's so good very flavorful .. I went back two Saturdays only to find out they make pozole everyday . Honestly I didn't even need the limes and extra toppings.. but I never had chili oil on pozole now I'm hooked it was the extra spice that was needed.. especially the week I was sick ..I'm hoping next time I can go they will have some coffee horchata .. I'd love to try it never rea had it ever in life.. the guava drink was good not sweet at all.. service was amazing very nice genuine people.. I usually order to her but there is plenty of seating inside and some outdoor seating .. read more

Usually get the tamales from here during the holidays but wanted to explore their other menu items. Got the chile quiles and this amazing calls-so flavorful! We also had their delicious vegan horchata. Love the market that they are in. Wanna come back and try more. read more
