    Carne Asada Taco Especial
    Anetra T.

Last night after attending a concert in Oakland, the only thing I could think of is I wanted tacos. My cousin took me to this food truck that is located around the Lake Merritt area and I see why they are so popular. It was a line, but it kept moving and it was worth the wait. I will say this cash is preferred although they take Venmo just to give you that heads up. I had three tacos and they did not disappoint at all.

The best burrito I've ever had.. anytime I'm in the area I always stop by for a 15" Al pastor burrito to stuff my face on the way home.

Tacos Mi Rancho is a classic taco spot in Lake Merritt that's been on my list for the longest. Got an egregiously large super burrito and some tacos on the side. To me, the burrito and tacos tasted fine, but nothing special by any means. Something to get when it's late and you're nearby, but I would never go out of my way to eat here.

I give this truck a try every few years and every time I end up telling myself never again. This time me and a few coworkers all got burritos. They were all so small and none of them came with guacamole as advertised. Pretty sure no sour cream as well or a very small amount. They were so pitiful and dry. Just packed with rice and pico. Everyone was still hungry afterwards.

Stopped by last night because I was craving tacos pretty late and this was on of the few places open late (til midnight)! I ordered 5 tacos: cabeza, carnitas, carne asada, birria and shrimp. All the tacos were delicious but my favorite was the shrimp taco, it was perfectly cooked and the salsa on it was so good. The rest of the tacos were pretty standard but still really delicious. It was quite busy for 10pm on a week night but the service was still quick and staff were really nice. They also gave chips (with some sort of Doritos/nacho dust), salsa, and even pickled carrots and jalapeños which were delicious on the side. I also ordered a regular carne asada burrito and that was really good too. However it was a cash only place (plus venmo and zelle) so that threw some people off but all in all quick service, good food, and open late!

This little taco truck is tucked on a side street near Lake Merritt. Easy to miss, but clearly loved. The line was long, which is always a good sign, but it moved fast. The menu was big, and I got three carne asada tacos. All of them were delicious. Some reviewers complain that you need to know a little Spanish. Come on, this is California. You can handle "carne asada." Take your tacos to go and eat by the lake. It's a great move. Pro tip: the default salsa is not hot enough, at least for me. Ask for "la salsa más picante." You will not regret it.

These are hands down the best nachos I've ever had. I ordered through DoorDash and was able to make adjustments to my order over the phone when I realized I forgot to request chips on the side. They also provided me with radishes and jalapeños as I requested, which was fantastic. I think their nachos are spectacular because of the cheesy, crunchy Doritos chips combined with the nacho cheese! Additionally, I'm impressed by their customer service; they quickly responded to my request over the phone.

Tacos Mi Rancho is my go to. I've had almost everything on the menu, and it's all good. Walk up to order or call ahead. Food is quick and delicious. Staff are pros. Pay with cash or Venmo only. Regular Carne Asada tacos or Sopes con Carne Asada are my favorites. Shredded chicken is also great! Pickled carrots rock, and salsa verde is mild and delicious.

I got the super burrito , steak. 15 inchs. It was very good and juicy! It is my first time at this truck and I'm impressed. Kinda pricey in my eyes compared to higher trucks . Food was ready in 15 mins and hot! I would recommend calling in.

Store bought chips that you have to pay extra for!
    Grace S.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE ON DOORDASH ! Maybe the actual truck serves good food, but we were just brought store bought chips and pre-packaged salsa packets. It'd be one thing if the salsa was actually good, same with the chips, but the flavor was horrible and not fresh. In addition to that, they got my burrito wrong and were very skimpy on the serving sizes all around. Poor quality and overpriced.

    15" Super burrito

Im so tired of spending my money with restaurants for the food to not be what I ordered. You get it home it's nothing what it's suppose to. Got a 15" super burrito, nothing super about it. No sour cream or cheese no guacamole nothing. Just hard ass steak meat that tried to choke me to death. Dry ass rice and beans.

They have great food here. Try different variety. Service is always pleasant. Ambient sound here is good street chatter.

Can someone tell me how to order food from this place. When I call it's just in spanish. Like that's hella inconvenient can someone tell me what button to push in order to place a order at the truck?

They understand english just tell them what you want. Better yet just go to the truck. They are very quick to complete orders.

But since then and nowadays they have tougher competition that I prefer to go to over them and recently started to develop a hate and love relationship here. It used to be my die hard go to taco truck. This truck for me makes delicious carnitas burritos and pollo tacos. And a sleeper is the al pastor burrito and suadero tacos. That al pastor isn't made from the trompo but the seasoning and juiciness of their version in the burrito is what makes it one of the best burrito options on there if you haven't tried it. Carnitas burritos is super delicious because you get that nice crispiness of the fried tender pork with the rice, cheese and sour cream. I like to ask for onions, cilantro and tomato in mines for variety and freshness to cut the heaviness of the fats and dairy. Tacos I normally would get or recommend is the Carnitas, Pollo, Cabeza, Suadero, and Asada. Carnitas are as delicious as explained with the burrito. Pollo or known as chicken tacos are super tender and juicy. It's also very flavorful, and one of my favorite chicken tacos to get here because most places don't make chicken very well and are usually very dry. The cabeza is super tender and a great option. Suadero just like the asada is just a better version of the asada cut. It's packed with more flavor and seasoning than the asada and slightly more tender which is why I prefer it to the regular steak. I tend to find the asada more dry and sometimes tough. Recently the pricing doesn't reflect on the fairness of the portion size. $4 tacos but the meats aren't as packed. Felt like they started to skimp because of rising costs but has been happening before then. $15 burrito but the sizing isn't as filling as it used to be. I started to see more rice than meat. They've also started to be very stingy with a huge attitude especially the gentleman that works on the pick up station when asking for extra pickled veggies, limes and salsa. And it happens every time for the past several years now. For example he gave me 2 limes, 4 pieces of sliced pickled carrots, 2 slices of pickled jalapenos, 3 radishes, and 1 rojo salsa for an order of a super burrito and 7 tacos. When I asked for extras the gentleman gave me an attitude and said he already did and won't give more. Only reason I still go here is because it's close to home and if my favorite spots for tacos are closed for the night.

The vibe is great, and the food definitely delivers on flavor. We tried quite a bit--the first Friday taco, chicken sandwiches, Mexican hot dog, and asada tacos--and everything was honestly amazing. It was so good that we came back the next day before leaving town just to have it again. Service was about an 8/10. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was due to one moment that didn't sit right with me. I watched a waitress bring out fries to a guest, the guest started eating them, and then she came back to say it was a mistake and took them away after he was already halfway through. That just didn't feel very service-oriented. In a situation like that, it would have been better to acknowledge the mistake and let the guest keep the fries on the house. Taking back half-eaten food felt like poor judgment. That said, the overall experience was still very positive. Great atmosphere, great flavors, and definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out if you're in the area.

I will admit I overdid it by checking out the exhibits at the museum weekly where I made a friend Preston, the Emcee at the Oakland Museum of California. Over 10 different food trucks to chose from. The highest food trucks they had at the market was up to 20 during the summer time. It is worth coming down to Oakland Museum to see all the different food trucks they have. I will admit I miss the past Market supervisor that ran the market (Adam, Alex, Paul, Henley, whomever ran the market that I can not remember their names). What makes this market to go to on Friday Night compared to going to Fort Mason is discount on museum tickets. You have a museum to go to while getting food from the food trucks.
