This used to be my go to spot for surf and turf, birria tacos. After this last visit, I doubt that I will be going back. The portions were perfect. My tacos were packed with meat so I was excited about that. But I noticed something different about the meat. It seemed like a cheaper cut of beef that has a nasty aftertaste. Presentation was nice, but again the flavor was lacking. I hate this for them because they used to have the best birria tacos in the East Bay.

Order: 3 Surf & Turf Tacos Rating: 6/10 I pulled up to El Salzon after seeing them on IG yesterday, those tacos looked like they were gonna change my life. I ordered the Surf & Turf tacos, and they definitely came loaded: carne asada, shrimp, melty cheese, cilantro, and onions. On the side? Jalapeños, lime, and pickled carrots. The tacos were large, and the crunch was on point (shoutout to crunchy shells), but the flavor? Not so much. I was really expecting that meat to pop, but both the carne asada and shrimp were giving... mid. Just okay. Would I go back? Probably not for the Surf & Turf. The size and toppings were solid, but the flavor didn't back it up. Overall vibe: Mid. Smack level: 6/10. I taste it so you don't have to.

El Sazon is a food truck I've been wanting to try for some time due to word of mouth..well today was the day. I worked 1/2 day and I was on my way!! and let me tell you El Sazon did not disappoint. Great service and the food was A-1. What you see in the pic is called a grill cheese turf and surf. I believe the bread was either brioche or Texas toast smothered in cheese topped with tender seasoned steak and juicy shrimp was something I have never had before..chefs kiss I also chased it down with passion fruit (which was a little sweet) but still delicious. Next time I visit I will be trying the tacos. 8/10.

Food is over priced, you pay so much for a burrito. And it has more rice than any meat. It's super salty too

I knew it was gonna be fire when I smelled it being cooked, but when Jamea said try this before you go, it was confirmed. You don't ask people to try your food in front of you if it ain't fire lol. 10/10 flavor wise on both plates. Noodle portions are large enough to share but you're going to want to eat the wings alone; they're so good you won't want to share, so get plenty. All orders are to go, but you might just want to eat it in the car it's so good. And expect to wait the time you would for a one woman show holding it down (POP). It's in the deep East, and that is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. ESO ambiance - check. All I can say is you definitely want to try Try Dat. Located (usually) on the corner of Seminary & Mac Arthur in front of the Valero, you might just pass by this unassuming (but beautifully colored & vibey) food truck without thinking twice, and you'd be missing a true gem. The menu has a surprising, but not at all overwhelming, selection for being in a food truck, and Miss Jamea (The Boss with the Sauce) does not play at all with these flavors. Follow @try_thisbaby on IG for location or call to double-check before coming.

The chicken was fried to perfection super crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The fries came hot and seasoned. I LOVE THE BOSS SAUCE. The hibachi noodles with shrimp were packed with flavor and had a nice smoky wok taste, and the shrimp were cooked just right. The portions are BIG, so come hungry! Plus, the staff was friendly and quick, even with a line of people waiting.

No greeting, no smile, but I did not care. I was there for a purpose of eating not conversation anyway. I ordered the surf N turf birria ramen. It was very tasty! As many times as I have tried birria ramen, it was nothing like this! To have it with melted cheese, and shrimp was a great creative idea they came up with. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the shrimp was not overcooked, and the juice had a nice savory flavor to it. I actually got full, which is very rare for me. I'd definitely go back if in the area again. The truck is located in a really small parking lot. Enough space for 4-5 small/medium cars.

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE CARNE ASADA FRIES*…read more CASH ONLY* We were brought to this truck as they were close to the area we were in while in the town. According to our friend, this was their favorite carne asada fries spot, so we decided to check them out to see if this was truly in fact the case. We pulled up to a small lot located on internation blvd. They have their truck with two sets of tables/chairs. I didnt even look at the menu as I was only there for one reason. I saw that even for the fries, they had several options you can choose from. Shrimp, carne, nacho cheese, and shredded cheese, and seasoning. These are all items you can add to your very own fries! If you know me, you know that I ordered EVERYTHING that was just mentioned and they were super loaded fries! Not to mention they were delicious, the picture simply does not do it any justice! DEF a fan and cant wait to return back for some more grub and BOMB carne asada fries! Keep up the great tasting and quality of food!
