Generous steak fries portion. Taste is consistently good. The service was speedy and professional. Definitely worth every bit of the $19 we paid for the steak fries and the extra fixing of cilantro. Still the best I've had until proven wrong.

Then I added the restaurant's salsa verde

I came here once before about a month ago and was pestering my friend about the name. She didn't know, but she knew the location and we ended up driving here last night. When I tell you I love this stuff I mean it! I've been on a personal hunt for the best steak and shrimp fries and this one is it so far. Not skimpy with the shrimp just how I like, extra for the avocado but it was an essential item. This is my favorite junk food. $15 per order of it. $2 extra for avocado. CASH ONLY. I was short by a dollar and mentioned a Juneteenth discount lol. It made her laugh and I got my avocado. It's all in good fun.

This infamous taco truck lacks many reviews that it deserves maybe because the name of this truck isn't well known due to the the name written in small print. This meaty fries with tiger shrimp beats every steak fries place I've been too. They're open super late, great customer service, NEVER skimp out on the shrimp or meat and most importantly it's always made fresh!!! I'd make the commute if someone would come with me because I'd have to admit it's not the safest place to come at night especially if you're not from around the area. But overall I haven't experienced anything other than great satisfaction of great steak/shrimp fries. VERY AFFORDABLE TOO!

TACOS. The affordable food tier. These are the adages of the Yelp-Bard, Art -- surprised? My continued addiction: to absorb strange, new lards, to seek out new trucks, and al pastor marinations, to boldly YELP though many have Yelped before ----- TACO TREK! Captain's log... 3 S T A R S H I P S * AL PASTOR TACOS REALLY HIT THE SPOCK Good marinade, and moist bites. Quality tortillas, too. * POPULAR WITH THE CLING-ONS With so much taco truck competition, Los Amigos' throng of clingy customers (cling-ons) is a very good sign. STEAK FRIES are the popular item -- 3 customers in a row ordered them right after I did! :::: Steak Fries, $8 -- SURE-BET TO REGRET. 4 layers of fat started off stellar: sour cream, cheese, ground beef, and French fries. Half-finished, they started getting gross, and by the end my stomach felt like 'Gene Rottenberry' * "EVERYONE REMEMBER WHERE WE PARKED." There's a security guard watching the parking lot, so no need to activate your starship's cloaking device. 2 M I N U S E S - MOST TACOS DIDN'T BEAM ME UP A few DECENT tacos meats (carnitas, asada, chorizo), one fail (cabeza). But nothing aroused any eyes-rolling-into-the-back-of-my-head MEXTACY. - PHASERS SET TO STUN Because all kinds of folks are rolling through, it can feel a bit SKETCHY as you wait for your order to materialize. Beam in and beam out!

    Carne Asade Fries!

Carne Asada Fries?! In Oakland. We drove across the bridge just to try this taco truck out. We didn't think the fries would fill us up, so we ordered a steak burrito to share. This was the best burrito I've had! No sauce needed and the rice was not at all dry! It also came with pickled carrots and jalapeños! I was eating those with the fries. Yummy! On to the reason why we're here! The carne asade fries! The fries itself was still crispy! We brought our own orange sauce from La Vic's, but these fries did not need it. It was so good on its own!!! We are fans. Thank you for fresh food and yummy fries!

They have great cheese steak fries here. My boyfriends goes back and forth from Oakland from time to time and I always ask him to bring me back some cheese steak fries. I haven't tried anything else besides this. The prices for the burritos seem to bit more pricey than regular taco trucks. I'm good with just ordering the cheese steak fries though.

    The "food"

Plain and simple don't come here this place is disgusting the customer service is bad the food taste as unappetizing As it looks very low quality food. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEYYYY!!!!!!!! Frozen materials for sure and very bland taste, I took two bites before I threw it away first bite in shock and the second for disbelief just overall a very disappointing experience.

    No prices...

It's not the most convenient and typical location. More of an Oakland food adventure, you can to see more of the local vibes of food offerings. The spot is marked with the spinning trompo and this is their specialty. We sat down and our al pastor taco orders were off. They were definitely busy during lunch time and we were able to snag a table. Food is definitely made to order and sprinkled with pineapple. The al pastor was nicely charred and tasty. Table side salsa provides the option of the green salsa or fiery spicy red. The red salsa kicks a bunch but it burns so good. There's also pickled onions just beware of the orange slices as those seem to be habaneros. The staff are super friendly and we'll be coming back for more cravings. Cash only.

It had never been on my radar before, but after seeing some buzz about it on r/oaklandfood on Reddit, I had to try it. All I can say is: WOW. Do you know how The Cheesecake Factory has a massive menu with 200 items, none of which are done well? This is the exact opposite. They do one thing--Puebla-style al pastor, cooked on a trompo--and they have completely mastered it. The al pastor was cooked to perfection--not oily or greasy at all (which some places struggle with). The meat-to-tortilla ratio was spot-on, and the pineapple chunks were fresh, a real treat, and perfectly proportioned. A really nice touch is that the plate came with a flat tostada shell, so you can scoop up any filling that falls out. They offer two types of salsa picante: Salsa roja - Flavorful and seriously spicy Salsa verde - Milder but still delicious One word of caution: onions with habanero slices are on the tables. They are delicious but go slow--I overdid it and had to take a break. The stand has plenty of seating, it's very clean, and the people running it are super friendly and happy to answer questions. This is a top-tier taco spot. Highly recommend checking it out! Cash and Zelle / no credit cards

The hot link was perfectly grilled and juicy with just the right spice. The knish was slightly crisp on the outside, the mashed potato mix fluffy on the inside, with a strong taste of spinach and just a hint of garlic and onions. It was a nice savory treat, especially dipped in ketchup. Choices were limited to the family friendly items, chicken strips, fries, gourmet hot dogs, etc. The grilled chicken breast lavosh wrap was filled with diced chicken, diced cubes, tomatoes, greens and creamy dressing that was perfect except the wrap was too thin for the fillings. It was all wrapped in paper which kept most of the contents from dumping on the ground. It was so good that I didn't care that it was all over my hands by the time I finished it. Good thing I had three napkins around the paper! We also ordered fried chicken strips and fries that were good. I would certainly eat here again.

We gave a piece to our foodie daughter and she screamed "This is the best flan I have had" The Choco cake was excellent as well. It's the details that matter. Some of the absolute best refried beans I have had, terrifically seasoned, you could make a meal out of their bespoke fried to order chops and this bean drip. And the large, creamy fresh guacamole was a revelation. Only in Mexico where the avocados are given three additional weeks to ripen on the tree would I find better. My Baja stye fish tacos were huge, perfectly friend and well composed. My wife loved her cheese enchilada with that classic sour tang that comes from a made from scratch tomatillo sauce. My wife's watermelon juice was on point. I don't want to sound like a broken record but my Sangria was some of the best I have ever had. Just to be able to swing buy and grab refried beans, fresh fluffy chops, killer guac and flan to die for and plop down in front of the TV is going to be a go-to ritual for this family.
