Egg salad toast with chili crisp, market salad and Pandan latte
Susan C.

Came here on my birthday! It's been in my list of places to go for a few years and we were in Alameda so we came here for lunch! The space is very modern, lots of light through the windows, tall ceilings! I'd love a place like this closer to home! Fast casual set up - order at the counter. Super easy! They have great menu items. We ordered the egg salad toast with chili crisp. The egg salad was rich but not much - was it made with kewpie mayo? The market salad with apple slices, Gouda cheese and candied pecans those with sherry vinaigrette was perfect for me! My extra treat was the pandan latte. It's slightly sweet with some jasmine and coconut notes. So delicious! Can't wait to come back!

Parking is a bit difficult on the weekends. It is quite lively. A ton of families and friends alike. Sunday morning, great customer service. Great breakfast options. Great coffee options. Love. I shall return.

Breakfast items and hot items( we missed this since it was our first time here ) until after we ordered lol

I ordered the pandan latte and wow it tasted exactly like the dessert, just in liquid form. Comforting, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. I also tried the egg toast, which was so yummy, perfectly balanced with fresh arugula and a drizzle of chili oil that gave it just the right kick. My fiancé ordered the Yau Choy & Gruyere croissant with fried egg and sriracha aioli, and it was packed with flavor. Saucy, savory, and the egg was cooked beautifully. Everything felt thoughtfully made and full of flavor. Such a lovely spot for both unique drinks and satisfying bites -- we'll definitely be back

Stopped by Lazybird Coffee for a spontaneous, late morning coffee and it was a pretty good experience. The line was a bit long, but moved fairly quickly. Customer service was friendly and adequate. I thought the space was nice, but a bit too small and cramped. It was quite crowded when I visited, so I had to shuffle around awkwardly while waiting for my order to make room for other customers. However, once the shop emptied out a bit, it was slightly better and felt more comfortable. The menu has a good variety of various drinks, pastries, and savory breakfast items, such as quiche, sandwiches, avocado toast, and even congee. I ordered an iced pandan latte along with a pandan waffle and chai latte. The pandan latte was refreshing and enjoyable, although the pandan flavor was more subtle than expected. I thought the pandan waffle was quite tasty. It was warm, crispy, and definitely had the right amount of pandan flavor I was looking for. My mom shared that the chai latte was a little too sweet. I also noticed a Rose Lychee Latte on the menu and hope to try it next time. Overall, I was satisfied with my order, and am curious to return and try other drinks & pastries in the future. I'd recommend stopping by Lazybird Coffee for a quick drink and breakfast snack!

Horchata Latter (iced)

Someone told me they had awesome coffee and sweet treats! I went with the horchata latte (iced) cinnamon notes, not too sweet. Just the way I like it. Chocolate chip cookies were hella good. Probably the best I've had so far in many moons. Chewy, and crispy edges, perfect amount of choc. chips. Whoever came up with this recipe can sell these bad boys alone. Quiet little place on the corner of Central Ave. Parking can be tight. I once went on a weekend and the line was around the corner and now I know why. It's definitely one of the better coffee spots on the West End. If you get a chance get a cookie. You won't be disappointed.

Eco friendly cold cup- pumpkin chai

What a disappointment. I'm so sad to say, considering the cute logo as well as other positive reviews but I was just greatly disappointed by it all, especially considering the long drive I made to try this place. Primarily the customer service. Came in on a Sunday morning- it was empty inside, a couple eating outside so I can't even blame it on the business of the store. Upon arrival the cashiers seemed annoyed that we stepped foot inside, we order and are met with very short curt responses. Once it was time to pay the cashier just walked away from the front and I'm left standing there like...ok. The cafe is very small, a table or two inside but they had hydro flasks on the table like they didn't want patrons sitting down. We wait and they put the coffees on the bar and just disappear. Great. Now attitude is one thing but if it tastes good I'm going to look past it. The pumpkin chai was meh. It was ok. I've had way better. Now the honeycomb latte my sister got was just vile. Watery coffee, no honey flavor. We got a third drink since we made it so far, the banana matcha greatly disappointed. The vanilla cold foam had no flavor. The matcha flavor was just barely there, where was the banana? She was not in the room. Needless to say I will not be returning. Really sad considering the logo is so cuuuuute.

Ube Latte with Oat Milk

Went back here for 2nd time. Sadly wasn't able to get their White Chocolate Matcha as we came an hour before their closing. Was able to try their Ube crinkle and triple ginger though. I enjoyed eating the triple ginger cookie more than the Ube crinkle though as I can't taste much of the Ube in it. Their Pandan Latte is still the best one that I have to all Pandan Lattes I've tried. I can still taste the Pandan and I am still willing to commute for it. It's a small cafe but it's a good place to chat with friends.

Tried a pandan latte with oatmilk which was creamy delicious! Friendly staff and cute cozy coffee shop. Blueberry lemon scone was so fresh and tasty! Love their breakfast foods too

Tried Lazybird Coffee while in Alameda and I didn't know exactly what I wanted so I winged it with getting a Horchata Latte and honestly it was a great decision!! I loved it especially since they added cinnamon on top. I was surprised with the amount of food options they had, and since I went in the morning I got 2x spam musubis and they were still warm! This place only has limited amount of seating (it's a small-ish) place but still really nice and cozy. They had pastries in the front that looked delightful! Would definitely go back!!

cream cheese cold foam, ube matcha and mango matcha, vegetable quiche

easily one of my fave local coffee shops! they were busy the time we went, but the service was still excellent! drinks and food came out at a reasonable time, so thank you to all the employees who got everyone caffeinated for the morning of thanksgiving! the ube matcha latte was delicious and mango matcha was great, the mango flavor just tasted a little syrupy. I might go every morning just for that veggie quiche! it's such a cute local spot that everyone thoroughly enjoys!

Open faced yau Choi croissant

Lazybird coffee is a charming little spot in Alameda. It is pretty small with only a handful of tables so it's more of a grab and go or quick sit down type of place to chat with your friends. They have an awesome selection of drinks and pastries that make it worth a visit. I tried the Ube Matcha latte which had a nice flavor overall. It wasn't too sweet, nor was it too strong but there were quite a few much of powder chunks at the bottom that threw it off a bit. The real star of the show was the open faced yay choy croissant. OMG!! 10/10! It was so unique and delicious that I'm still thinking about it and already planning my next visit just for that. Service was fine, nothing special, but it wasn't bad either. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking only, so plan accordingly. I'll definitely be back and can't wait to try more of their drinks and pastries!

When I charge my car in the AM, I'll typically swing by to pick up Gluten Free Goodies for my daughter. The Pandan Waffle is good. The babingka muffins are great! These taste like your at your auntie's house, and she's made a rectangular cake sheet of babingka. And you rush over to cut a slice of an edge piece because it's crispy and moist all at the same time... well, these muffins are forever edges! Every bite is crispy and moist! I typically get 6... The breakfast sliders look basic. They look like you should be able to make these at home. But, I highly bought I can replicate it. So I just continue to buy! It's the right amount of ham and soft scrambled egg with melt cheese in between a warm Hawaiian roll. The sauce... I'm not sure what it is! Some kind of aioli.. But it pulls it all together! So so good!

Certified. Fresh good quick and easy. Typical hole in the wall cafe. Small menu so you know everything is good.

As for drinks, I love strong Viet Coffees and went with the Salted Cream Coffee while the pretty one went with a Mango Matcha Latte. I came in around 8:30, a few tables outside had people drinking their coffees and eating breakfast. When I walked in, only one guy was waiting for his order. There was only one person working. The only option is street parking, so finding a good spot can be difficult. It is an extremely popular spot, so I'd advise making your reservation weeks ahead of time. Once you're inside, though, it's a great experience. Though gu the shop is small and the tables a bit crowded together, the atmosphere is lovely. The decor is tastefully quaint, and the space is clean and well-lit. The tea service itself is lovely as well. The full tea service, which runs each person $48, includes your pick from a very large variety of teas and sandwiches, including a couple vegetarian options, though I wouldn't call the overall menu vegetarian-friendly. Each table also comes with a little container of sugar cubes and creamer for their tea. This far, all of the sandwiches and teas that I have tried are very good. Each patron gets their own pot of tea instead of one shared pot for the table, which I love. Each set also comes with a scone with clotted cream and jam, a potato canape, and a selection of small desserts. It was more than enough to satisfy me. I really love that they offer both traditional British flavors as well as unique Malaysian flavors in their menu. The desserts also change from time to time, so every experience can feel a little special and new. It gives this spot a unique feel that I haven't yet found elsewhere. Overall, the experience was very positive and I absolutely do recommend it to anyone who has the time and interest. Though $48 is definitely not cheap on the surface, I feel that the unique menu, quantity of food and drink, and general enjoyability of the experience make the price worth it.

Even though there was a sign mentioning that it was a small space and asking guests to keep the volume down, that didn't really happen. One of the other parties was an intimate baby shower. My friends and I weren't exactly quiet either, but I think it was because the whole room was fairly lively. There were so many different kinds of tea to choose from. There were six of us, and we all ordered different flavors so we could sample each other's teas. The sandwich selection was also impressive, and our tea towers included a variety of small desserts that were all delicious as well. I chose the Smoked Salmon & Chive Cream Cheese, Cucumber & Dill Cream Cheese, and Coconut Jam (Kaya) with sliced cold butter. The Kaya sandwich was easily my favorite. The desserts were a wonderful addition to the experience, and everyone at the table enjoyed them. I was torn between ordering the Peaches & Cream Black Tea and a green tea. I ended up choosing the Genmaicha with Coconut, and it was delicious. If I come back, I'd definitely like to try the Peaches & Cream Black Tea. As a group, we all agreed that the Kaya sandwich was the standout item. We did have a small hiccup at the beginning because two of our tea orders arrived without tea bags--basically just hot water! We all had a good laugh about it. They were busy, and mistakes happen. The staff was very apologetic and corrected it right away. They even offered us two extra sandwich orders, which was a very thoughtful gesture. Overall, it was a good experience, and I enjoyed my first tea party. However, I do feel that this venue is better suited for a calmer, more intimate gathering, such as a bridal shower or a quiet afternoon tea with close friends. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Anytime someone rang the bell, they came to the table almost immediately. If you're looking for a relaxing tea experience with a small group, this is definitely a place worth trying. For my group of friends, we're a little louder and more energetic, so it almost felt like we were too much for such a peaceful setting. Still, we had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and cozy tea house
