Firebrand Artisan Bread is a nice local cafe that serves the community. PLENTY of parking! They have outdoor covered patio seating in addition to indoor A/C seating. The ambience is simple, clean, and a decent sized place. House music. One unisex restroom. Artisanal baked goods, sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, etc. I got the Ube Matcha Latte (3/5). It was good to try but I'd skip next time. We arrived pretty late so the selection of bakery items was limited. We'll be back to try their other things next time. Support your local business.

Unfortunately Firebrand's execution doesn't match their pricing. Now if you're in a pinch this place serves its purpose, but for the past few times I've been here everything but their service is below standards. Our reuben sandwich was extremely skimpy. We had two slices of meat and when it came out to the table, it was already falling apart. Think "shrink-flation" and this is the poster child for it. Same can be said about the salad unfortunately. You could finish it in four bites and with greens going bad so quickly, you would think they would give you more of it for the price. Flavors were extremely sweet and the candied walnuts tasted stale. Of course to top it off was their chai latte. It felt like a chai la croix because it tasted like the chai was just breathed on the water instead of being mixed in it. Overall really disappointing place. I would purely stick to their breads and maybe their pizzas if you are consider trying Firebrand.

The food , English muffin breakfast sandwich and bread was soooo soft plus the potatoes were well seasoned and I enjoyed every bite.

Okay, so a friend took me here and it's a beautiful vibe. Great Saturday morning location. Grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich or pastry and boom perfect start of your weekend. Service was also good, long line says it all about the food but it went by pretty fast.

Stopped in today for another pastry: their apricot cronut. Also decided to try their espresso macchiato, which unfortunately I did not enjoy at all. Either they underextracted it (brewed incorrectly) or used light-roasted beans, because it tasted highly sour/acidic. Not classic Italian style at all. Not getting this again and it makes me hesitate to want to try their other coffees. Their smoothies and tea lattes are much better here, e.g. greens smoothie or the matcha latte is my go-to drink here. Their pastries overall are on point - especially their various croissants, it's what they seem to do well with. And I've tried almost all of their pastry goods - as I get a different one each visit. Apricot cronut was really good. Also, I've noticed prices have crept up for various items within the last 5 months. Plain croissant used to be $3.50 and is now $5.

Came in after finishing the Alameda Beer Run 10k this morning. Line was moving and not long. Great selections of pastries. Got the Choc Chip Cookie for later (which was good and had hints of sea salt). My cousin and I got the Pork and Jam Breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. My other cousin got the Chicken Club. Both looked great and tasted really good. Breakfast potatoes were crispy and came with a dipping sauce that complemented the potatoes. Also got the Churro French Toast Sticks, which did taste like churros and yummy (4 pieces). Very busy after 30 minutes. Very good service by the staff and friendly. Plenty of picnic tables outside, but seating also inside. Highly recommend.

Stopped by for a pastry and a latte. The matcha croissant did not disappoint! I enjoyed the green tea crunch on the outside and was pleasantly surprised by the matcha filling. It was just the right sweetness. I also ordered a vanilla oat milk latte, which was tasty. I would say there probably wasn't much caffeine in it lol I was still yawning after finishing it, but that's ok as I wasn't expecting a big caffeine kick from a latte. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is that I think it's on the rather pricey side. I'll be back to try more pastries but pass on the latte.

I stopped at this place for a lunch and it was the perfect place to be! We ordered quite a bit and all of the food was delicious. Tuna melt: They had a good portion of tuna to bread and it was perfectly balanced. The salad turned out good too with their vinaigrette. Chicken Club Sandwich: This sandwich felt clean and light where it wouldn't make me feel groggy after eating it. I liked how all the veggies and avocado paired well with the crispy chicken. The bread was slightly dry but it was fine since it came with a sauce and avocado in it. Ube latte: This drink was good but I feel like it wasn't creamy enough. It could've been because I got it with oat milk and iced. I had to add more sweetener to it and it was nice since there were sweeteners on the counter for me to add. I'd probably pass this one since the ube flavor wasn't strong. Matcha latte: This matcha was really good and creamy. We got it warm and it was a good choice. It was sweetened very well and I loved the cute heart design on it. This place had outdoor and indoor seating. I liked how open this place was and clean too! I was so come back to this place!

    Quinoa bowl- so tasty!

We LOVE this place! We only wish there was one closer to us in South Bay! Whenever we are up in the area to sail, we stop in. The open, spacious indoor and outdoor seating is perfect for loud kids, and enjoying fresh baked goods and lunch. The line looked long on a Sunday, but it moved at a swift pace with all of the staff playing their different roles effectively. The kids and my husband loved their burgers. He said it was cooked just right and had bacon on his. The fries were so fresh and tasty; we couldn't stop stealing from our daughter. ;) I had the quinoa bowl and it was so fresh and reminded me of a summer bowl I make, but even better with the addition of cut tomatoes and goat cheese. It was the perfect, healthy salad, (without all of the hard work making). ;) We decided to indulge in the cake pop this trip. It was huge and covered in sprinkles. Perfect size to split 4 ways, and the best surprise was that it was more like a thick, indulgent dark chocolate fudge pop. Couldn't even snap a pic it went so fast! ;) Thank you Firebrand! Please open a location in South SJ in Almaden. It's just what we need down here!

Stopped by to try their fresh baked pizza but unfortunately it was sold out for the day at 3pm. They have a nice assortment of baked goods and also ice cream. Convenient location and parking. Indoor and outdoor tables under shaded awnings.

Hadn't been to the new location in Alameda and was open to give them a try. The new space is quite expansive and is located on the old air force base. There is ample seating available inside and outside/covered picnic style benches. The menu options cover breakfast/lunch options, baked goods and breads. We decided to try the Reuben sandwich and the cobb salad. I tend to like my reuben toasted with sauerkraut and plenty of thousand island dressing. I wasn't thrilled with the sandwich overall as it missed the mark for me. The cobb salad was pretty good and I would definitely try it again. We also grabbed a few pastries which were also really good. Open to visit again and try other things !

I love the lofty ceiling and cool, airy interior. It's a great place to do work out of and they have free Wifi, as well as cool drinks (ube latte? Yes please! And they also have other variations of ube drinks and more, as well as soups, pastries, and sandwiches. They are, of course, known for their breads. I've had their challah bread and also their pull-apart pain au lait and sweet potato pull-apart. Everything is delicious and fresh. They have lots of outdoor seating as well. Great for groups and families (and dogs can be outside.) Service is fine, it gets busy here depending when you go.

Very welcoming server. Very helpful. A big menu to choose from with weekend brunch. We came during the week, not crowded and had a lovely green machine drink (spinach, Fuji apple, lemon, pineapple, banana). We ow this is super tasty! The California salad has spirited beets. So pretty and it was lovely to look at and tasty. Big seating area outside and ready parking.

Stopped by Firebrand on a Monday morning for some breakfast, and it was delicious! Service was friendly. Everything is made to order so even though there was almost no one there, it took some time for my order to come out. I ordered the ube latte with almond milk - not sweet at all, which I appreciated, but not very strong. I also ordered the kids' sausage. I was pleasantly surprised that it came not only with some delicious crispy potatoes but also a nicely fried egg. Delicious and filling - perfect for a quick breakfast. I sat outside to soak in some vitamin D and had an overall great experience!

It's small and clean inside 5/5, and the staff was patient & informative, plus they heated up my sandwich, which I didn't ask for but it was nice 5/5. Now onto the pastries.. the coconut was so thick, light, and creamy and surprisingly backed with flavor 4.8/5, the mango was phenomenal! The fruit inside was so fresh, and well cooked, and the cream inside was a light addition 4.9/5, the pistachio (even though I was crazy excited about it) was just okay. The pistachio flavor was strong enough, but I just felt it could've been better executed when you're offering options like mango and coconut, 3/5. The apple fritter style pastries was definitely my favorite out of them all. The outside was so buttery and flakey, and the apple filling wasn't overly sweet with a slight tart hint that really put it over the top for me, absolute perfection 4.9/5. The Calamansi Jasmine tea was a delightful little addition to my eats. It was more jasmine flavored than anything, but that's also one of my favorite tea flavors so I may be biased, but either way 4.5/5. Overall, I rate this place a 4.6/5!

However, on many recent visits, I've wondered why they offer so many different pastries all at once (20+ split between mousse cakes and viennoiseries) instead of focusing on a smaller rotating selection. It seems difficult to make so many pastries each day with potentially diminishing returns on quality and guest experience. (If it's to showcase their range, that seems unnecessary as we already know that the chefs are very talented at their craft.) In fact, on my visits where I saw the widest selection, all of the pastries I bought turned out dry. I think they would be better off making a smaller selection and ensuring each batch is made to standard.

The average person just doesn't appreciate all the work that goes into the foods that we eat. We saw the warehouse where the raw goods are stored and then onto the production floor! We saw the flour coming out into the massive vats, loaves coming out of ovens, focaccia going into convection ovens and all the steps in between. The yuzu curd is not too sweet, they really lean into the sour so it balances out the sweet bun nicely. The pandan bun is like nothing I've EVER had. It's the strongest pandan flavored anything I've ever had. You can smell the pandan before you even bite into it. Yuzu Meringue Bun -- Spot on with the cruffin and meringue combination. The yuzu flavor was generous, although it leaned a little too tart for my personal preference. I wished there was more meringue -- perhaps having a layer of meringue in the center would have made it absolutely superb! Brown Butter Mochi Bites -- These were alright, but nothing particularly special. They were missing the signature mochi chewy texture, so they didn't quite feel "mochi" enough to truly be called mochi bites. Sesame Cookie -- Unfortunately, it was too hard and crisp for my liking.
