Poor experience for coffee on the island. Ordered a Mocha and Tiramisu latte but the mocha tasted like plain milk. Tiramisu latte was decent but cold and too sweet. Very disappointing experience. Will try another place for weekend morning coffee

Service and Staff: - Order at the kiosk or the counter in the back of the restaurant. They will call your name when the food is ready for you to go pick it up in the back Food and Drinks: - Hojicha Latte: delicious. Anytime a place sells a hojicha latte, I'm all over it. It wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated - Bulgogi Egg Sandwich: this was very tasty! Love the Korean and American fusion with this dish. It was also very filling Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via metered street parking (free on Sundays or weekdays after 6pm) - Indoor and outdoor seating available - Good for pairs and smaller groups (might be able to get away with pushing two tables other to fit 6-8). Most tables fit 4 - Lots of food and drink options - Casual ambiance - some people were working and some were brunching

I was looking for a coffee shop to do some work and came across this gem. The interior is so cozy and aesthetic with a good number of tables whether you're eating or grinding through some work. It wasn't super loud, just light ambient noise, which made it a perfect spot to get things done. They have food options on the menu but I didn't get to try any, so I'll have to report back on that. You can order through the kiosk up front or walk to the back to order with someone. I was ready to listen for my name but they actually brought it to me, nice touch. The tiramisu latte was good but not extraordinary. I got what I paid for and it definitely gave me the caffeine I was looking for. I'll be back to try other drinks and eventually the food.

Super cute cafe/brunch spot! Love the interior and aesthetics, with the green walls, dark wood, and plants. My friends and I came this past Saturday a little before noon. We ordered on the tablet near the front entrance. Some of us wanted our drinks to-go, so we ordered those separately at the register in the back. I ordered the Pesto Egg Toast and an iced Horchata Latte with oat milk, less sweet. The toast was yummy, and the portion was perfect for me. It was enough to make me satisfied. I liked the sunny side up eggs and pesto. The latte was also good. I could really taste the cinnamon in the drink. Even with less sweetness, it was still relatively sweet so I'm glad I adjusted it.

Worst coffee on the island! I ordered a hot mocha and a tiramisu latte, and both tasted like nothing but warm milk with the faintest hint of coffee. It was incredibly bland and honestly one of the most disappointing coffee experiences I've had. We came because of the beautiful ambiance, but great decor can't make up for terrible drinks. Save your money and brew a drip coffee at home-it'll have more flavor than anything served here.

Back and still obsessed with this place! I got the bulgogi croissant this time and... thought it was okay. It was definitely messy to eat and although I could taste the bulgogi I did feel like it was a whole lot of croissant but maybe it was because this was served cover versus hot? Kimchi fried rice did taste like a whole lot of sesame and I wish it was a bit more flavorful. I believe my sister got something with pesto and she thoroughly loved it. Loved my tiramisu latte.

Nice cafe with drinks, pastries and small plates. Lots of seating inside and outside. Counter service and they bring it to your table.

Out of all the drinks we tried, I highly recommend the Tiramisu Latte -- I'm still thinking about it to this day. It had the perfect balance of flavor without being overly sweet, while still maintaining a rich, delicious coffee taste. My husband ordered the Honeycomb Latte and really enjoyed it, and my sister got the Biscoff Latte, which she loved as well. We'll definitely be back!

Love the ambiance! No wait 10am on a Saturday -- was able to immediately get seated and surrounded by plants. Good selection of unique or classic drinks, and good food. Will be back!

Date: 12/29/2025 Time: 1:25 PM 57° Sunny My younger sister suggested this restaurant for lunch. It is our first time here and we did not know what to expect. After perusing the menu, I ordered the Pesto Press on ciabatta bread. It included a side salad. My sister ordered the bulgogi croissant. Although the service was a tad slow, it was expected as there were only three employees handling all the patrons who were dining here. My guesstimate was about 15 people indoors and 6 people in the outdoor parklet area. Ambiance is quite comfy and casual. There is a self-serving kiosk near the entrance. The other option is walk to the other end of the restaurant and order food and beverage from the owner/cashier. Two menus are on the counter. One is for the various lattes and hot/cold teas. The other for sandwiches, toasts and bowls. My sister and I enjoyed our lunch. The pesto press consisting with layers of ham, mozzarella cheese, lettuce mix, sliced tomato topped with pesto and balsalmic glaze was absolutely delicious. I am not a coffee drinker, but I was eager to have the tiramisu latte. Other lattes I want to drink are the ube, lavender and the guava matcha. Y'all know what that means - return visits in the future. My sister's bulgogi croissant looked scrumptious. Wow! A crispy buttered croissant with loaded tender bulgogi beef, onions, cucumber, mixed greens and a homemade gochujang sauce was certainly eye candy. (Yummy!) Street parking is slim or none since it is on a main thoroughfare. However, there is a public parking lot across the street between Fire Wings and Sub Par. Public transportation is nearby (AC #30, 31 and 51A).

Order: 1 Small Coco Cloud Iced Matcha 1Egg, Cheese, and Jalapeño Croissant Sandwich 1 Coco Muffin Total: $32.45 Visit: Monday, 01/19/26 at 11:00 AM This establishment was The Preacher's Daughter, which I previously loved. The new owner did their thing here, the interior is beautifully decorated--I loved all the plants and framed art throughout the space. They truly transformed the bar area and added an abundance of greenery, making the space very aesthetically pleasing. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Parking can be tricky, but there is a parking lot across the street and another around the corner. Overall, the food was great. I enjoyed my sandwich--it was good, though nothing particularly special. I did find the pricing a bit high; however, I didn't mind paying because I love supporting women-owned businesses, and I felt it was worth it. The matcha latte was amazing. I had never tried matcha made with coconut water before, and it was incredibly refreshing, hydrating, and delicious. I also really enjoyed the in-house chocolate muffin. The service was good. You have the option to order at a self-service kiosk or directly at the counter with staff. I ordered my drink at the kiosk and my food at the counter. The staff made sure to inform me that food was taking longer than usual, as the place was quite busy when I arrived around 11:00 AM. Seating was still easy to find. The food did take a while, and while the staff was extremely busy, there was a bit of disorganization when calling out which order belonged to which customer. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would absolutely return to try more drinks and food.

Bright beautiful space to brunch, sip, work and connect. Ordered from the kiosk each time I have been here but I think in the future I will order at the counter to tweak things a bit - I don't like overly saucy, no option for sauce on side. Eats: - bulgogi croissant, satisfying and love the greens - big breakfast plate - all the essentials done well - summer bowl, fresh and bountiful Drink: - matcha cloud latte, w/oat + espresso shot - best matcha on the island and rivals places like Maiko, creamy, matcha forward and just enough sweet to feel like a treat Fantastic curated experience with top notch drinks and service. Love that they use glassware, mugs and plates - so inviting and cozy.

Our monthly coffee meet-up spot at the Marketplace was busy on our recent get-together and someone in our group suggested we head across the street to Dandelion. It's a newer café in the area and has a good number of tables, a bar counter, two tables out front and an outdoor patio on the side. We ordered at the counter, though afterwards, we noticed a self-order kiosk at the entrance. They have coffees, matchas, teas, sandwiches, bowls, and some pastries in a case. After we placed our orders at the counter, we parked ourselves at the table. When the order was completed, it was brought to our table. I had an Americano and it was good. Nice quaint and quieter atmosphere as opposed to our regular spot. I think Dandelion will be part of our group's coffee meet-up going forward.

1465 Webster St Alameda, CA 94501…read more I had a fair experience here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. I had a day planned that included cleaning the garage, so I figured a big breakfast would be good. I walked in just before 9am, and the place was empty. A waitress greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. It's actually hard to pick a table when the place is empty. Cape 7 has a fairly large dining room. It used to be a Sizzler Restaurant. Before Cape 7, it was "Shell Shock." Cape 7 never changed the Shell Shock decor, so it has a nautical theme. A pirate stands guard by the restrooms. So I sat at a booth by the window. I sat back and the bench seat was broken. A gentleman raced over and switched the bench seats. Wow, you have to be careful when you sit down at Cape 7. I ordered a Denver Omelette w/ hash browns, a side of Pancakes, and Coffee. It took about 10-min for my food to come. By 9am more customers came in. After my food arrived, I didn't see a waitress or waiter for 20-mins. Then the owner arrived, and a waitress checked on my table every 5 mins. The Denver Omelette was made with 4 eggs. The serving size was pretty large. The two pancakes were a bit dry. I needed more butter and syrup. Instead, I used alot of jams (that were on the table). The food was okay, I might come back for breakfast again. Off street parking lot in back.

The French toast combo was basic. The sausage links were under cooked, the over medium eggs were more over easy and the French toast took too long. Service was quiet but attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. The food was the real star. We started with the Brussels sprouts (light, crispy, and perfectly cooked), calamari (well‑seasoned and not heavy at all), and warm biscuits with whipped honey butter--so good. The clam chowder stole the show for us: poured tableside, rich but not heavy, and full of flavor. For entrées, the seafood pasta was fantastic, the lobster rigatoni was delicious (just wished for a bit more lobster), the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the lamb--while tasty--could've used a touch more time. Overall, this place is an easy 5 stars. Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and memorable food. I'll definitely be back to try the dishes we couldn't get to.

I was surprised that I didn't have to hold the reservations with a credit card which was nice. We arrived a few minutes early and waited just a few minutes before our table was ready. As soon as we sat down the hostess asked if we needed any waters. Our waiter Jacob also came around right away to see if we wanted to order any drinks, we ordered the old fashioned, the Mai tai special, and margarita. Drinks came back pretty quick which was good. All the drinks tasted pretty good. For starters we ordered the calamari for the table, fruit salad, clam chowder, and a wedge salad. The calamari came out first, it was cooked perfect, had good flavor to it, the Brussel sprouts mixed with it was tasty, and the lemon sauce that came with it was refreshing. The clam chowder was excellent but it was more like a cup than a bowl. The wedge salad was okay, I've never had eggs in my wedge before, and it could use some better bacon bits or whatever it was for the bits of meat. The fruit salad was great. For our entrees we ordered the Ribeye, the Lamb chops, the Pork chop, the New York or Sirloin, and the Duck Breast. The good thing is that all of the entrees came with sides versus a la cart. The entrees came out after a while which wasn't too bad. It seemed like they only had one waiter taking orders for all the tables. Ribeye, Lamb Chops, Pork Chop Sirloin, and the Duck Breast were cooked perfect, med rare, and great flavor on all the meats. The ribeye was a little tough which was weird since it was cooked perfect., so I don't why that was. All the sides (cream spinach, mashed potatoes, corn, brussel sprouts) were very good. For dessert we shared the Strawberry Shortcake and the Churros. Two great desserts, fluffy bread, tasty strawberries, the sauce was perfect, the churros came out hot, nice crunch to them, and the flavor was great. Overall, a great place to have dinner. The restaurant has plenty of seating. We go all around the bay area and I believe prices are pretty high for drinks, soups, salads, and desserts. We didn't have any Italian food but looking at the menu, they could be just a tad high as well. Our waiter Jacob did a great job.

Located on the corner of Central and Webster, 1400 Bar & Grill has been an Alameda West End staple for many years, and we have been customers for over a decade. The owner Yani is a sweetheart, and very much present day-to-day in the restaurant. He knows all the regulars, and welcomes you in with a warm "Hello friends!". This place is great for any meal of the day, and as a late-night spot. When we come for brunch, I'll usually go with the Greek veggie omelette. When in the mood for pizza, their veggie pizza is honestly one of the best ones I've had - loaded with fresh veggies and in a pesto sauce - noms. They have a very nice patio in the back that's perfect to hang out on when the weather is warmer. If you're into sports, this seems to be a popular spot at which to watch 'the game'. You line up first to order, then you sit down. For some reason the cashier did not hear my second order and that made the transaction twice as long. Here's what we ordered: HUEVOS RANCHEROS - $15 2 over easy eggs on fried tortillas, red salsa, beans, potatoes, sour cream. This has got to be the saddest Huevos Rancheros plate I've seen and experienced. Wish the dallop of scour cream was bigger, and overall this dish was just okay. It felt unhappy, but the taste was fine, nothing memorable. BREAKFAST SANDWICH - $8 Egg Cheese, and choice of meat (sausage) and bread (croissant.) Somehow this was serviced on sourdough, and it's not worth having them fix this. It's also not worth $8, it looks and tastes like something I can easily make at home. All in all, we were very unhappy with our time and food here, but glad we finally gave it a shot and tried it!

He's a regular…read moreand stops by a few times a week for coffee, so I finally decided to check it out myself on a rainy Saturday morning. The place was pretty busy when I arrived, which is always a good sign. I ordered the French toast special, which comes with three pieces of French toast, eggs, and a side of meat. Since I don't eat pork and they didn't have turkey bacon available that day, I ended up getting a piece of chicken with it and a large coffee. The coffee was excellent--a nice big diner-style cup and really good quality. You can tell why people come here regularly just for coffee. The French toast was really good and came topped with strawberries and raspberries, which I wasn't expecting but was a nice touch. The eggs were fresh, and the chicken was flavorful--I added a little Tapatío and it hit the spot. The atmosphere was great too: very clean, welcoming, and the staff were friendly and engaging. The only two small drawbacks for me were: * The portion size felt a little small. I would have loved maybe a couple more pieces of French toast or a slightly bigger portion overall. * There didn't seem to be table-side coffee refills. It looked like if you wanted another cup you had to go back to the counter and order again. Aside from those minor things, the overall experience was very good. I'd give it about a 9 out of 10. I'll definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu--maybe an omelet next time. If you're in Alameda and looking for a good breakfast spot with great coffee, West Cafe is definitely worth checking out.
