This is a great spot for some coffee. I love how the place is on the same block with Salvation Army, so you can thrift and then get yourself a drink right after. I love their affogato, it was very refreshing, balanced, and a nice treat after a long day. Prices are fair and what you see in almost all the coffee spots. The place looks small from the outside, but it actually has a decent amount of seating both inside and out. I love the tall windows that let in so much natural sunlight, because it gives the cafe such a bright and inviting atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The food service is quick and well done. It's on a pretty busy street with constant traffic, so getting there by car can be a little hectic, but it is totally worth it once you're inside enjoying your drink.

The only independent cafe on this side of the island with a big enough footprint to hang and chat. Love the high ceilings, clean bathroom, personable staff, fancy toasts, coffee and unique seasonal blends.

I've driven past this coffee shop countless times when crossing the Park St. Bridge. It always looks so inviting, today I finally had the chance to check it out. I'm unsure if there's an official parking lot, I parked at the shopping plaza and walked across the street. While it is quite small in size it's huge with personality. Great music fills the air, they're beautiful plants as far as the eye can see, ample seating and the overall space is bright and clean. I was in the mood for a latte and was surprised by the different flavor options. Feeling adventurous I drove strawberry latte. It's reasonably priced the flavor was very upfront but not overwhelming and it was just a delightful time in the coffee shop. A great place to go for people watching there is an endless stream of cars and pedestrians in motion. I'll likely be back for another visit, I spotted Dole whip on the menu as I walking out.

I've driven by this coffee shop for years and finally stumbled in as my wife really wanted to get a fresh cup of Joe. The first thing that stood out to us upon entering was, although the location is smaller than most spots, it has just the perfect amount of room for their staff to make the drinks and for customers to actually take a seat and enjoy themselves inside. We came at the right time because immediately after we placed our orders, people started storming in there and created a line that went to the front door. She ordered a seasonal drink, a Jasmine Latte, while I ordered an Affogato. We were both amazed at the immediate high level of quality each of our items both had. Her Jasmine Latte was refreshing, soothing, and carried a calming element with each sip. My affogato was creamy, rich, and a burst of flavorful energy. I would've never imagined coffee and ice cream could taste so good together, but I was even more surprised that I had never thought of doing something like that before being a sugar addict. Another thing that stood out was a fair amount of the clientele we encountered during our stop here were LGBTQIA. I could tell that they were regulars here, and were ecstatic to take a coffee on the go or simply enjoy their time in the outside eating area with company. Being a straight male, I am not one to speak on behalf of that community, but would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention how this appears to be a great place for those who are. It also wasn't just those customers who were enjoying themselves, but everyone who placed an order. This was one of those rare instances when going to a business where every single person who patronized their expressed sincere happiness. On the contrary, it's worth noting that parking can be a nightmare. As there isn't a parking lot you're forced to park on the streets, and for me, I had to park about a block and a half down. It might be better depending on when you go, but for us it was definitely a pain. Taking everything into account, we both agreed that we look forward to our next visit here. Coffee Cultures produces exceptional coffee, sustains a great atmosphere, and is one of the best cafes we've been to. Coffee Cultures gets a high 5/5.

    Snickerdoodle latte - seasonal

Great little coffee spot located in or near the Downtown Alameda area. The service here is very friendly and the vibe here (at least on a Saturday morning) was pretty chill. The building has a pretty cool look to it and it seems to be connected to a mixed use location with a shared courtyard. And I think they have soft serve here too! Gonna have to come back and try that as well. I believe they roast beans here (so the place smells wonderful - I also ended up buying a bag of their beans) and have a really fun menu with classic drinks as well as some different seasonal menu items. I had to get the snickerdoodle latte. It also came with a fun doodle on the side of the cup. I also got an Americana with some cream. I needed the caffeine because I was in the area relatively early to line up for a BBQ place down the street. So I didn't have a problem finishing both drinks, haha. The drinks were very tasty and this is a spot that I probably would frequent if I lived or worked in the area. There seems to be plenty of street parking - just make sure you know the ticketing rules and time limits. I ended up parking around the block in a more industrial area because I knew I needed a spot to be in for a few hours.

    Iced Matcha Latte

Honestly a disappointment. I love trying matcha lattes at all new locations and this one didn't compare to many others. I ordered an iced matcha latte minus the ice (so just cold) and I was asked if I want the milk to fill up the rest of the cup and I said that would be great. Pictured is without sipping how high the drink was filled in the cup. All other beverage places I have ordered this exact thing they fill the rest up with milk. The fact this was $7 and they couldn't fill up the rest with milk is kind of insane. Parking can be problematic too because it's on a corner and only street parking is close to it. The drink itself... I ordered a lavender latte. Can't taste the lavender at all and the matcha appeared to not have been stirred long enough, kind of chunky. Hopefully other items in the menu are better and the atmosphere is really cute so that's a plus!

Iced Mocha with whole milk. Very rich and tasty

There's no shortage of local and corporate coffee shops in Alameda and I love it. The more the merrier. Coffee Cultures is quality coffee with decadent food and a beautiful outdoor space. The iced lavender latte is divine. Parking is certainly not easy as it's at a corner with heavy traffic coming in and out of alameda but I treat myself when I'm down a block for my songs Kung fu class.

The Bay Area has random spurts of warm days in the fall and winter. During a few of those days, I was craving a soft serve so I hopped onto yelp and searched around for a new place to try. Coffee Cultures popped up on my feed so I went on a little adventure to try their soft serve. The location is right off the alameda bridge with some street parking around the store. The store itself has seating around huge windows to just people watch while enjoying a coffee or soft serve. It's a v chill spot and both times that I've been there, I see people working and just hanging out. The soft serve itself was perfect and I'm always tempted to get another one but one was plenty. Sorta craving one right now though I haven't had the chance to experience their coffee because coffee can be a hit or miss for me and I didn't want to experience a caffeine crash. But pictures look good so maybe I'll be back for that.

Cute cafe! I liked the ambiance and there was decent amount of seating indoors and outdoors. Great spot to chat with friends! Parking is hard to find bc it's street parking or parking in a separate lot and walking over. Service was a bit slow but it was cause there was only 1 worker manning the cash register and making drinks. Drink wise, I thought it was just okay. We ordered a matcha latte and a regular latte. I like my drinks hot but it was just lukewarm. The barista was great at making latte art though--it was super pretty! Overall decent place for caffeine fix but nothing spectacular.

    Black sesame matcha latte
    Samantha W.

I really root for local coffee shops, but felt compelled to write this review as I'm baffled at how an order of the black sesame matcha latte can taste nothing like matcha and still cost almost $9. The whole drink basically tasted like milk and black sesame with a smidge of matcha. By smidge, imagine .2 seconds of matcha flavor followed by straight milk. The cup and "eco friendly lid and straw" also doesn't pass the safety check. I understand that a lot of businesses are choosing to use eco friendly cups, lids, etc, and I'm for it! But if you cant even drink a beverage without fearing the lid will pop open, or the straw melt by the time you get to the car, then don't use it for people ordering their drinks to-go. The chances of it spilling while driving, walking is hazardous. Imagine if it were a hot beverage! Yes, the ambiance and setting is nice and welcoming, and I'm sure the drinks could be better at the table, but quality justifies the pricing. And quality should be consistent regardless of having it at the shop or to-go. It's just not worth it in this day in age. I really wanted to like this place and have a go to local coffee shop, but I will pass.

Got an iced matcha latte with oatmilk today (4/7/2025) and it was super milky and watered down matcha. Barely any matcha taste. It tasted like it was premade and not made/whisked to order :/. Very disappointed..

I always wanted to try Jasmine Matcha and it was delicious. This is the only place that has Jasmine Matcha! I just wish there was less ice and more matcha flavor. Service was friendly and efficient . I Will be back !

    Toasts and seasonal drinks menu
    Sydney J.

I came on a Friday afternoon and decided to order a lavender matcha, which was on their seasonal menu, but I was curious about their matchai (matcha and chai combination). It appeared there was only one barista working at the time, but they were friendly and efficient, so after I ordered, the drink was done within a minute. You can sign up with phone number for rewards. They have outdoor patio with various tables in the back with a colorful mural, and free wifi. It's a little tricky street parking right next to the shop itself, especially since it's right by an intersection that is next to the bridge from the Fruitvale side of Oakland to Alameda. However, if you want an easier time getting a spot, there is the Park St Landing parking lot cross the street. The drink is not too sweet, I liked that I could definitely taste the matcha nad it wasn't washed out by milk, but I did find it hard to make out the lavender flavor. Since the cup size was small, I'd say the $7 was overpriced and I took a star off the rating for that. The standard matcha probably would've been just as good for cheaper.

I often bring family and friends, and everyone in the place knows me by name. I've tried most of the coffee and matcha drinks and they are all excellent. The space is very modern, lots of light through the windows, tall ceilings! I'd love a place like this closer to home! Fast casual set up - order at the counter. Super easy! They have great menu items. We ordered the egg salad toast with chili crisp. The egg salad was rich but not much - was it made with kewpie mayo? It's slightly sweet with some jasmine and coconut notes. So delicious! Can't wait to come back!
