This place is all about the beans. They have blends from different origins. They don't have specialty lattes but you can add milk and simple syrup. The place was nice, the staff were fast. The pastries were my favorite here. The almond croissant was perfection.

We were staying in downtown for a family trip so stopped by here for coffee and breakfast. It's a cute cafe, clean and was quite busy for a weekday morning at 10a. However, our drinks and food came pretty quickly and everything was delicious! For drinks I ordered my usual cortado with oat milk and hubby tried their seasonal special (triple blue with blueberry, blue cheese, blue matcha and hojicha). My cortado was excellent and I could taste the quality of the coffee whereas the triple blue was very unique and tasty without being too sweet. The flavors of the triple blue blended surprisingly well together! As for the food we ordered the Morty supreme and bodega sando with bacon. Though I liked both the Morty supreme was my fav out of the 2 (the croissant bun put it over the edge with its flaky crispiness). Definitely worth a visit!

Bodega & French

This cafe is adorable! The cafe has the baristas almost in the center of it making the drinks, which I think is such a unique setup! Everyone here is super friendly and so sweet, even when it's so busy and chaotic! We had gotten the Bodega and French and for drinks we had gotten the mocha and matcha ube. I LOVED the matcha ube! I'm a big matcha girly so if you are too, I 100% recommend! (I didn't drink the mocha so I'm not sure what it was like ) The French toast was also really good! It was like strawberry matcha latte that took the form of French toast! The Bodega Sando was a little too salty for me with the bacon and the sauce together, but over all pretty good!

Well, I'm almost done my circuit of all the Nemesis locations. Stopped by for an outing here. Not as many pastries as other locations but seems like they have proper meal items. Got their rice pudding cruffin and an iced hojicha. The hojicha was great and quite strong. The cruffin was very flaky. Got a taste of the orange chocolate croissant as well and likewise very flaky. A bit louder as the location isn't as big, but service was good overall. Gotta come back here to try their food items.

Banana and passion fruit pastries

When you think of a perfect cup of coffee with the most delicious pastry, you're definitely thinking of your experience at Nemesis. I've traveled here twice. The first time was so good, that on my 4 hour layover in Vancouver the second time, I made it a point to come here. They make a damn good flat white. And it was consistent both times. I brought beans home that are wonderfully roasted (I'm out so I should take a 3rd trip to Van just to pick up more). And their pastries. OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. I kid you not. I was so blown away by the quality and flavor in each pastry. I thought it was a joke. I thought what I ordered was twice the price of what I paid and they gave me a discount. I've been to French bakeries that can't put this kind of quality in their goods. I had a blueberry pastry the first time I went (fire), and then a custard banana with lilikoi (passion fruit). Talk about sending me into another world. Look at my photos, JUST LOOK HOW PERFECT THEY ARE! They were so dense and delicious. I almost moved here for these alone. As extra as this review is, Nemesis puts extra love and care into what they serve. Come and taste something amazing. You will not be disappointed.

Came here for some pastries (no coffee was purchased). I thought the pastries were fine, nothing amazing but it was nice to try out the different flavors. I purchased the ferrero rocher one and the chocolate orange suisse. Both had a subtle flavor of orange and hazelnut so that was nice.

Had a chance to enjoy Nemesis Coffee while in town and let's say that all-in-all it's a very cute spot but it just didn't feel welcoming whatsoever. They have a few tables to enjoy your delicious pastries and bevvies outside and if you desire to sit inside you'll first wait in line, order, and then be ushered to a table. Once it was my turn to order it felt a bit awkward after I had shared it was my first time there. I ended up just settling for a double espresso and a blueberry pastry. The pastry itself was absolutely delicious and had me in awe so I knew the pistachio croissant for my fiance was going to be divine (and it traveled well). I waited for quite some time and it felt like I was simply forgotten. I tried to ask for the wifi password and that felt like I was asking for something beyond their means and my pastry and drink didn't come out till after I inquired about my order after waiting almost twenty minutes. It then took another ten minutes to receive. It was ok, not sure if I'd come back though but appreciate having the opportunity to go.

Pistachio swirl

The line at Nemesis stretched out the door on a cold, rainy Saturday morning, but thankfully it moved quickly. My friend and I shared an avocado toast and a pistachio swirl croissant, along with an Americano and a latte. We were seated at a clean table already set with utensils and water, which was a nice touch. Our food arrived shortly after, the pistachio swirl croissant was perfectly crisp and fresh, with a light pistachio flavor. The avocado toast was one of the most beautiful and delicious we've ever had, topped with a butternut squash mousse and broccolini. Everything tasted so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Don't be discouraged by the line, it's absolutely worth the wait!

Mortadella sandwich

I was looking for a coffee shop to do work before my flight and saw everyone on TikTok raving about this place. Unfortunately, they don't have wifi. I ordered a hojicha latte and the mortadella sandwich. Both tasted good, I liked the aoli they put on the sandwich. The bread they used was a flakey croissant. The hojicha was sweetened but it wasn't too sweet which was my favorite. Service wise you order at the front and they direct you where to sit. This is a full service cafe so they bring you the food and pick up after you so tip upfront. All in all it was a cute place for lunch. I don't know if I would come back because there's a lot of other coffee shops to check out in Vancouver. While the sandwich was good I didn't find myself obsessing over how great it was. I would recommend to friends but will skip out next time.

Queen

What a fantastic spot! I saw photos from this shop all the way in Texas and had to try it out! We got the Black Sesame Corn Latte and it was amazing! Savory with a great Sesame flavor. The Queen was a great version of a classic pastry. The Mortadella Sandwich was super delish with a great texture and bold flavor. There is a bit of a line but it is well worth it and the service is super friendly. Only in town a few days but already plotting a return trip! Highly recommended!

One of the best coffees and pastries ive had in a while!! The space here is wonderfully designed with lots of seating. I immediately loved it. After seeing so many videos of the breakfast sandwich, I had to order the mortadella supreme and an oat milk latte - it was SO good and unique and I loved the coffee too! Presentation was 10/10. When I ordered I had eyed the delicious pastries and went back for the banana danish. I am so glad I did because it was phenomenal! Maybe the best bite of my trip to Vancouver.

Top : Mortadella Supreme Left: Bodega Sandi Right: Pull apart bread Middle drink: Beet coffee Bottom right drink: Pumpkin spice equivalent

This place is amazing! Came here only wanting to have a snack but ended up eating 2 sandwiches instead and they were the two best breakfast style sandwiches I've ever had! Mortadella Supreme : the immaculately buttery croissant style bun surrounds a delicious but not to heavy warmed mortadella that envelopes an egg with a runny center. The Swiss cheese is the perfect complement and the mustard is an ideal addition or acid. This is heaven in a sandwich. Must order. It's not just for breakfast either. Bodega Sandi - Would have been my all time favourite if not for the previous sandwich. Very similar to the mortadella except it's a potato brioche and thousand island aioli. It really just boils down to my preference for croissants and I love the mustard in the other sandwich. And amazing second best ever for me. Pull apart bread was excellent with a savoury center The beet coffee style drink was surprising, unique and delicious. The pumpkin spice variant had an unwelcome element of hot spice in it that made drinking it uncomfortable. If you want your drink spicy then go for it. Otherwise it's a hard pass. Server was very friendly and helpful. Location was clean and nice. Great coffeehouse vibe. This place is a gem.

Notes from my experience at Nemesis: * Only oat milk and whole milk * Only 1 size drink * Very friendly service. Sat us and brought glasses of water * Pastries were above average * Hipster, trendy vibes

One thing noticeable about this restaurant is the lacking of plates. They used majority of their plates to serve the food on. However the food were served as finger foods and we were expected to hold our food in our hand. Somewhat strange. They also ran out of glasses during the party. The bartender couldn't even keep up with our drinks. Anyways other than the above. The event was a great event. I got the opportunity to try all four of their mocktails: - Blueberry Basil Lemonade - Mango Lavender Lemonade - Minty-Berry Sour - Pear Lavender Sour All their drinks were very fancy prepared and my favorite are the Minty-Berry Sour and the Blueberry Basil Lemonade. I also found that there is some inconsistency in the glass they serve it out of. The food was delicious as mentioned before. My favorite out of their finger foods were the grill cheese brisket. OMG that was really good. The other memorable items are the porkbelly and fried chicken. I think the fried chicken is one of their popular items on the menu served during brunch. The cheesecake at the end I got was very soft but flavorful. The cheeseburger slider was really good too. Overall I really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere and decor of the place was nice. The restaurant is very small. Because we were over 100 people, there was a wait for the 3 stalls in the bathroom. There was not enough tables and chairs for everyone to sit. I think the restaurant can comfortably maybe accommodate around 40 or 50 guests max. I will definitely be back again someday to try their brunch menu.

I heard the line up was up to 2 hours long later that day so to say that Angus T is a hit is a bit of an understatement. This is a cute location where the emphasis is on sweet and savoury croissants but they offer Danish, cinnamon buns, tea, and coffee options. We ordered the limited offering of the strawberry creme croissant plus got a regular croissant, onion jam & bacon, pistachio & raspberry, and ham & cheese. All of these croissants were DELICIOUS and the regular croissant brings me memories of Paris! Yes, they are pricey but at around $1.50 to $2.50 more than a croissant from Starbucks a block away, it is well worth it as a treat. I look forward to tasting more flavours and taking friends here to catch up over a delicious croissant and hot cup of tea. The River District neighbourhood needed a cute café like this and so glad they are finally open. Pro tip: if enjoying the treats at home, reheat the croissants in low heat. They taste better warm!
