Came from California and this place was highly recommended and I found out why! Location: not the biggest space so keep in mind, tables are limited and they're very busy! We managed to keep a table within no wait but we do now once we left others had been waiting a minute. Service is quick and friendly though! You'll order what you want at the front and they'll take everything to your table once seated. I had a very delicious breakfast sandwich however the real winner for me was the Strawberry Cruffin! Word cannot explain how good this coffee is baristas were kind and very helpful when choosing a bag to take home. These guys know what they're doing in terms of coffee. I got an iced americano and my husband got the cold brew. Both were 10/10. Lots of places to sit inside and outside when the weather is nice. Would come back often if we lived near by. read more

Been seeing this place in people's reviews, especially their Mortadella Sandwich. To be honest, it tastes so so good. Love the taste and the crunchy side of this. But I can't say the same for the coffee. The coffee temp is waaaay too hot so we only taste bitter. Service was just questionable but when we told them the coffee's too hot, they just shrugged and walked off. Same goes with the pour over, it's over-heat. Nemesis coffee was the first place i wanted to visit as soon as I arrived in Vancouver. Went around the afternoon and it was packed to the max! Outside was cold and inside was super warm. There were no windows open and it was so stuffy. Not even the AC was on or anything. Luckily they had tables outside to sit. They no longer sell the cruffins anymore.... or had those spiral croissants (by the time I was there) which is heart breaking. I settled for the cinnamon pastry which was a great option! Asked for it to be warmed up and it was perfect. They call out your order outside as well which I appreciated. Their restrooms are super tiny, but they have 2. Service was amazing. We chose Nemesis Coffee because of its great reviews and were not disappointed! They weren't very busy on a Thursday afternoon, and the ambiance was pleasant - lots of natural light, wooden furniture, plants, etc. I ordered the Hojicha Maple Latte off the seasonal drinks menu, and also got a Matcha Raspberry Cruffin (the last one left!). The friendly guy at the counter gave me the Cruffin right away and told us to grab a seat, as the drinks would be brought to us. We didn't wait long at all, and the Hojicha Maple Latte was fantastic. I was worried it would be too sweet, but it was incredibly flavorful without being overwhelming. The Matcha Raspberry Cruffin was amazing as well, although very messy to eat. I stopped into Nemesis while visiting Vancouver and it was the best decision ever! The short rib benny is a MUST try if you are a Benedict fan. I also tried their golden bun which doesn't look as delicious as it was. It's a good choice if you don't want to get too explorative with your food. They do have tons of pastry options to try though. Such a great opportunity to make a real mark in specialty coffee. They fall short of the mark on many points. They state transparency on there website but dont list any pricing..... Specialty coffee first and formost is about sustainability yet they dont even use compostable take out containers. Coffee was good as it should be due to all the hard work of the producers and roaster. Stopped in for Sunday brunch and it was hopping. We gladly took a seat and enjoyed our feast. Everything was absolutely delicious. The chocolate croissant was so flaky and fresh. The avocado toast was phenomenal, not like any regular avocado toast, this one is special. The short rib dish was really rich, it was tasty, but hands down the avocado toast won. The Mortadella Breakfast sandwich is the best thing I've eaten this year (croissant buns, fried egg, cheese, bacon). My friend and I came by for breakfast on a Sunday morning. They were quite busy when we got there around 10am or so - only a few seats open - but people started leaving shortly afterwards and generally turnover was quick. I had a poached pear danish and a matcha latte. The danish was kind of disappointing :( While the pear was really yummy - fresh, soft, and paired with a wonderfully light frangipane, it didn't really make up for the rest of the bread, which was dry, bland, and difficult to chew. My matcha latte was pretty good, but nothing too special about it - I like that it wasn't too sweet. My friend got the matcha & raspberry cruffin, which was much more delicious :) The matcha cream was not too sweet and paired really well with the palmier-esque pastry. The filling was also a nice surprise! It made it much easier to balance the flavours throughout. Overall, a decent meal at a decent price, but I will be sure to order something different if I come again :) read more

We got there at around 8:10am in the morning, and there are plenty of tables available. We ordered at the counter and sit at the side table with all the plants decoration. Hojicha Maple Latte $7.5 I got the hojicha maple latte with a strong taste of tea and milk. Sherpa Tea $4.35 We ordered a sherpa black tea that went well with croissant. Lemon, Caramel & Thyme Croissant $7.5 We ordered the croissant filled with lemon curd and caramel thyme. On the top there were torched swiss meringue, which was less sweet than expected. Overall very tasty. Matcha Raspberry Cruffin $6.5 I got the Matcha Raspberry Cruffin filled with matcha cremeux and raspberry jam. It was topped with matcha whip and raspberry pâte de fruit. Stopped here to get coffee on the way to Stanley park! I ordered the matcha ube latte. When I got it, I realized I didn't order it iced. I asked for a cup of ice but instead they made me a new drink which was super sweet. All of my friends liked their drinks too which ranged from a cappuccino to a mocha to drip coffee to a single espresso shot. Despite us coming around 12pm and it being a bit busy, we all got our drinks about 5-10 minutes after ordering. Their pastries, especially their croissants looked yummy. Cute little place in North Van if you want some coffee or a yummy pastry! We ordered 2 oat milk lattes and some pastries. First, the roast they use for the latte seems darker (so less "milky" than Starbucks for example, but it's a matter of preference!!) VERY delicious and a lot of care put in by the barista. The cruffin is my favorite, though a bit hard to eat so grab some napkins! We enjoy grabbing a box of pastries, some coffee, and going to sit on one of the picnic tables along longsdale quay. I went with my mom and my aunt, who both do not frequent local coffee shops and have been getting the same thing at Starbucks for decades. A delightful breakfast/cafe experience! Bright, clean, and modern but homey, this cafe welcomes you with a beautiful display of croissant-like pastries. I am not a huge croissant person, but that's probably because our US croissants don't stand a chance against Vancouver's. The banoffee cruffin was flaky but with a divine banana toffee filling and cutely placed topping. Pistachio swirl was nice with a good stickiness. The Queen caramelization was just right. Matcha latte was standard but of high quality and beauty. My friend found the cortado to be a little high on the milk. The bodega sando (typical breakfast sando with fried egg, bacon, cheese, aioli usually served on potato bun) was so delicious that I loved the bacon even though it was not crispy (non-crispy bacon is a no-go for me usually!)! Per my friends and my one bite, avocado toast was good and fresh but not super special. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their benny. Service was friendly and attentive. Loved that they let me adjust the bodega sando to have sourdough bread! My 3 friends and I squeezed into a tiny booth near the window, but it was lovely. Wonderful breakfast options and delicious coffee drinks. Modern fine with creative twists on items ( eg the avocado toast had toasted sesame seeds and nuts which was quite delicious). Husband was quite pleased with his green eggs and hash which was a poached egg onto of some fresh green vegetables with roasted pots ( think brussel sprouts and green beans ). My only complaint is that oak milk was the only milk substitute option for my latte ( which by the way was delicious so I will overlook that almond milk was not an option. Recommend! read more

I saw the craze on the internet about the mortadella here and had to give it a try. To be honest, it's well put together - like that guys who tries a bit extra on a first date, but dig in and ask some questions, you realize it's some ham, soft runny eggs, and cheese. Swung by Nemesis Coffee for a super quick double espresso on the way to dinner while feeling a little drained on energy. Annoyingly we arrived about 15 minutes before closing but the staff was super nice and chill about accommodating us. The coffee shop itself is cute and casual. I didn't really get to too much as I ordered right at the front and then stepped outside to wait for my drink, asked to not be in the way of closing. The espresso only took a couple minutes before it was ready. The taste was bold, lightly bitter, and a perfect wake me up. This cafe has a really nice ambience. I like the wooden booth tables along the window. I was in a group of 5, and they nicely gave us a stool to add to the end of our table so we could all fit. Probably couldn't seat more than 5 here though, since the space is limited. I got the hojicha latte which was awesome! We shared the s'mores and matcha raspberry cruffin. We agreed that the matcha cream was really good and unique, but the raspberry was a bit tart and overpowering (personal preference though). Definitely recommend! read more
