My wife and I tried this spot for the first time on her birthday. I had the swordfish and she had the scallops. The scallops were overly salty and the swordfish was dry, appetizers were good. Service was ok but nothing extraordinary, after sending back the swordfish the manager didn't even stop by. No offers for dessert even though it was my wife's birthday... Overall experience was meh. For the price there are plenty of better restaurants to visit. read more

This place was amazing.... From the wait staff, ambiance, food, and drinks! I ordered the shrimp and grits after being told that they were award winning, and they were absolutely delicious. Skip it. Went for breakfast and then had to go get an actual breakfast somewhere else. No coffee menu- no matcha. Received literally a gallon of orange juice, and yet the yogurt with seasonal berries and granola was minuscule- quite literally a "schmear" of yogurt on a PLATE with sliced apples, a line of 4 blueberries and one almond. No joke, one almond. Oh and it was covered in a layer of honey that made the whole three bites of it, inedible. read more

Went for a casual brunch and the food does not disappoint. However, service is absolutely terrible. That's why this place is a 2/5. First, let me explain the good. Impossible burger is 10/10 fantastic. Egg White Scramble is good, but a bit oily and very heavy on the stomach. The sweet hostess took the time to clear a table for us as we requested outside (no busser had cleared any tables and left them all dirty). Now, the BAD. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table to bring plates and utensils. Then another 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We were forgotten about throughout the entirety of the meal. In addition, there was no communication between the staff as someone different each time came to the table to ask us the same questions about ordering/our meal/etc. All in all, would I come back again based on my overall experience of the food and service? No. It was that bad. I will only do take away from narrative. from now on. You've been warned. read more

This is a fantastic breakfast spot for a girls day. I came in with my friends after a barre class and ran into a bunch of other brunch ladies I knew. they have a back room perfect for a large group or birthday party. We sat near the bar and even though it's part of a hotel I didn't feel like we were in the lobby of one. Our food was delicious as well and we especially liked their take on avocado toast (the ARTICHOKE toast) so much we tried to recreate it at home. The pineapple mimosa is also a nice touch. Located in Jacquard hotel in North Cherry Creek, this is an icily elegant space that was nearly empty when we went for lunch. Despite austere appearance, greeter & servers were very friendly & welcoming. The foot was elegant, though $23 for a salad with a few shrimp may seem a bit much to most people. Still, given rising prices restaurants must pay for food are likely to be the norm for now. At least here, the food was very good & the ambiance pleasing. I'd go back. read more

I love this place. In fact, we are planning another trip because we loved this place and the Jacquard. The food is classic but with a modern touch. We snuck in multiple meals while staying at the Jacquard for just a 2 night stay. I highly recommend the blueberry crunch pancakes or cage free eggs for breakfast. For dinner try a chopped chicken salad or the burger. Save room. You must have a plate of chocolate chip cookies for dessert. read more

Very cool place! We went there last Sunday for brunch. We didn't realize we should have made reservations but we were able to snag a high top table. Service was good, not polished but the staff was fairly efficient. I got the Eggs Benedict and my husband ordered the raspberry French toast. I'm a brunch-lover and was excited to try Narrative this past weekend. There were 3 in our party, the ambiance is clean and nice. The mimosas were OK, the food was above average (fried green tomatoes were fantastic!), but my friend's sandwich had a dead fly stuck to the outside! That made us all Leary to continue... but my shrimp & grits tasted so delicious I didn't want to stop. Half way through my meal I found a 2-3inch hair in my dish! (Face-palm). The manager was responsive & apologized, and he comped my meal & the fly sandwich. Overall, it just left us all thinking there are better and cleaner places to go in Denver. read more

The best meal we've had in Denver. Beets, tuna tartare, and artichoke toast presentation were beautiful. All were delicious but the artichoke toast stood out as a creative and amazing dish. Entrees did not disappoint either, fiancee had the kale salad which was delicious, I had the seared scallops which were done perfectly. Crispy Brussel sprouts are worth having as a side, not too saucy, flash fried, a little spicy, excellent. We were too full for dessert but hear that the cookies are the house specialty. Happened to be in Denver this holiday unexpectedly and wasn't sure what we were going to do for Thanksgiving. What an amazing Thanksgiving offering at Narrative. The Pre-Fix Meal was phenomenal, and their Ala Carte offers were just as good. Not to mention their exceptional staff like Adrian and Ariena. Did not realize eating out on Thanksgiving was such a viable option not to mention the quality of the food. Highly suggest giving them a visit. Your loss if you don't. read more

Went to check this place out during denver restaurant week. Overall the food was good. A nice modern twist of elegance in my opinion. I believe for two people on the Denver restaurant menu and three wines were under $200, not bad. Food did take a while to come out in the beginning but it did not disappoint. The only thing holding me from giving it 4 stars was the fact that we made reservations and they ended putting us in the back seat of the restaurant. Actually it didn't even look like a part of the restaurant and was connected to the hotel. It was like they forgot about us seating. Visited during denver restaurant week, the meal was to die for! As a vegetarian I had tons of options and everything was so great. The artichoke toast is on the regular menu and was amazing, I'd go back for just that. The next course was a butternut curry soup I believe, I loved that too. Entree was a BBQ tofu bowl, yet another great dish. This is also on the regular menu I believe. It is so refreshing to visit a place that serves creative and delicious vegetarian dishes. I wish I took some photos of the food bc it was very delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful; I personally liked the bright lights along with the decor. The service was below my expectations. The buss staff was nice, although a little slow at clearing. What bothered me the most was we sat with empty drinks most of the night. Our server was SLOW. She also would see empty plates and leave them there for the bussers. She was nice enough but service is what keeps me coming back to a restaurant. Pretty disappointed I was really looking forward to coming back to this place. It's unacceptable every time you get asked if you need a cocktail yours has been waiting there empty for 10 minutes. So Im really disappointed with my experience here. When I walked in I loved the ambiance.. however, everything went downhill from there. The food was mediocre at best, it was not mind blowing as I hoped. However the most frustrating part was that that the manager had mistake our table with ordering wine and brought us glasses. When he realized he messed up, he then promised us with some wine samples because of his mistake but then failed to deliver what he promised. I don't expect any wine if you mess up but don't ask for my ID and what type of wine I like and then lie to your customers, especially if you expect this to be a higher end restaurant. The service was incredibly slow. We waited over 30 mins to even order our main entrees. And then waited at least another 30 mins when we asked for our check. I didn't even look at my itemized receipt and just gave my credit card because I knew it would be probably be another hour before I got my card back. Cool place. They messed up our parties steaks and the way they addressed it was just weird. Rather than taking the meat so they could properly prepare a new one they took the entire plate leaving three of the seven without any food. Then the new food came back out 35 mins later with everything. Meanwhile everyone else was done eating. The manager talked too much about it w too many excuses and was a bit of a hot mess. After being there for over 30 min some kid who looked stoned out of his mind and like he just rolled out of bed took the remainder of our order. Needless to say he received a poor tip for his poor service. The food was mediocre and very overpriced. We were staying at the jacquard hotel and this restaurant was connected/underneath our room. We went there for happy hour and it was great! The wine I got was less than $6 for a glass! That is a very good deal for a fancy restaurant like this. We also got the guacamole and sausage flatbread. Great snacks to go with the drinks. If I am ever back in cherry creek, I will for sure be back for dinner and try out that menu! read more

We live down the street & were excited to visit a new place in our neighborhood. We visited Narrative a few days after they opened & I'm confident they will work through any issues especially with the help of customer feedback. Would have been a nice atmosphere had the lighting been appropriate - it was incredibly bright lighting. Having every light in the space on to the max combined with the all white everything created a very sterile atmosphere. I'd love to see warmer lighting & atmosphere. I also really would love to see them use different after glasses- These were uncomfortable to drink from but could make nice candle holders. The burrata dish was very good. I had the steak which was incredible tasty & seasoned... i'd say probably very over seasoned - too much sauce & too salty. Enjoyed the wine & people watching very much. read more

*Review for drinks only.* It's very bright here which is why I am docking a star. I felt like I was sitting under fluorescent lighting in an office building. I know they are probably going for an LA-bright vibe or something but it's not my cup of tea. They have a really neat wallpaper going on - it looks like a big wall of books and is super cool - but it's just a wallpaper! Very cool. This is a very chic and sceney atmosphere. I really like their glassware also - I want to find their water glasses and have them in my home. The drinks were good - no complaints here. Didn't try the food, though I hear they have a solid brunch so I'd like to get over here for that in the near future. read more

Last night my dad and I checked out this place - it has fabulous atmosphere. We were helped by a nice bartender lady from Houston who was super friendly, efficient, and welcoming! Deviled eggs are killer. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the rest of our meal; the short rib, although tender and although the grits were good, was drenched in a barbecue sauce that honestly ruined the short rib. Similarly, the Caesar salad was ok except for drenched in dressing. The restaurant would be much better off with a dry rub or a little cup of barbecue sauce on the side, don't ruin such a beautiful cut of meat like that! Again, loved the deviled eggs. Unfortunately I have to give this place 3 Starr's while I feel it has the potential for five when we came last Friday we had a horrible experience we had a table of 10 and the service was horrible, whenever I needed a drink or ready to order food I had to wave down our sever she was very inattentive she never check on the guest for entrees food drinks unless we had asked I didn't even order my dinner because their service was so bad i drove all the way down from Fort Collins for nothing now what did come out of it was the lobsters dogs those were very good that was the only thing I was able to eat since our sever never came to take our orders for dinner a whole table of ten and we barely got appetizers and drinks some didn't even get that ! Really unfortunate for such a nice place. If it wasn't for the lobster rolls my review would be 2 stars and if it wasn't for the supervisor he was nice and understanding but other than that HORRIBLE service !!!! read more
