My mom and I came here for the first time, and we loved it! The service was wonderful, the food came out fast, and the food was amazing. I have never had curry before, so I went with the Evil Jungle Princess. Which was a chicken stir fry covered in coconut milk, lemongrass, and straw mushrooms. My mom had a curry as well, Gaeng Kari, which is a chicken curry with all kinds of vegetables. We instantly fell in love with the food and the environment. Both of our meals were only about $10! Great food! My wife loves Thai food, I don't. BUT I LOVE THIS PLACES FOOD! It's in a Strip mall and I loved it.

I brought my son here when I learned they served his favorite dish, orange chicken. I can honestly say it was the best orange chicken I have ever had. Ok this is the first place I tried Thai so I didn't know any better, but their food is pretty good. Service can be hit or miss, I think they need more servers for the busy time of day. Also this place is TINY! You can hear what the table next to you is talking about. But it's very clean. For an Anthem restaurant it is okay but definitely not up to taste par with the Thai restaurants in Phoenix, Scottsdale, the east Valley or Tucson. we had dinner here last night. my husband ordered the tempura shrimp. The batter was too heavy; not light as Japanese tempura. The oil used to fry the appetizer sample plate did not taste fresh. My entree of a lemongrass beef dish was just ok. I can't believe I have not come here sooner. Do not miss out like I have. Get to Dara Thai ASAP. The place is a nice restaurant and is much bigger than it appears. The food is delish. I ordered the vegetable egg rolls and the panang curry. The veggie rolls were nice, crisp and filled generously. Curry is something I love and cannot get enough of. The panang curry had a bite as I ordered a 3 of 5 on the spice scale. This dish did not skip on veggies or chicken either. I topped it off with a hot ginger tea. Very good Thai food. The eat in area is a little small and can be cramped because they are busy, often. But, that would be the only downside. I love the drunken noodles and pad Thai. Yummy Thai food, reasonable prices, friendly service, and cozy, intimate atmosphere. I come here with my family to eat at least every couple of weeks. We are always warmly welcomed by Peter, the owner (when he's there), and other servers are also friendly. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, but you tend to forget that fact once you're inside. This place gets busy at dinner time! The Thai iced tea is great, as are the curry dishes. I really like that you are able to order brown rice or noodles with your meal instead of white rice (75 cents extra). read more

Spring rolls a little lackluster, but the Pad Thai is really good. I get it with extra vegetables, instead of chicken. A "3" (on their 1 to 5 scale) is plenty spicy... Nice service, take out or eat in...cute and quick. Only Thai in Anthem. read more

Should be called Diarrhea Thai. Because that's what the food tastes like and what you will be suffering from after you "dine" here. Seafood tastes like it comes straight from the Safeway dumpster. I'm sure the owners wrestle the coyotes for first dibs. And the meat is so tough, you'll want to check to make sure you still have your shoes. Stay out of Diarrhea Thai. read more

This is a wonderful Thai restaurant. We had a great lunch at a very reasonable price. The salad was fresh and crisp with a well balanced dressing. My husband and I tried this place the other night while we were shopping at the Anthem outlet stores. We were expecting it to be a good place, especially since we read all the reviews on the Yelp. First, I would like to say that the service was dreadful. We had to wait 10-15 minutes to get service. By the way, did I mention my husband and I were the only two people there?! The place was empty and still we got bad service! Okay, so once we ordered, our meal vaguely resembled thai food. The panag curry was overly flavored with mint and lacked little or no taste of coconut milk. This place is okay for occasional takeout, but that is about it. After listening to the kids say "what's for dinner" and "eww, I don't like that" we started searching for something different for take out. There are not a lot of different take out selections in the north valley. We came across Dara Thai on Yelp and the 2 reviews where good, so we took a chance. And it was worth it. Having 2 vegetarians for children makes it hard, but Dara Thai had a good selection of Tofu items. We got a Spicy Tofu, Sweet and Sour Tofu and a Gaeng Kari (Extra Spicy). All where excellent tasting and went over well with the picky eaters that my kids are. The only complaint was that the extra spicy, could have been a bit spicier. The price was a bit high, but we will definitely order again. read more

I've been to Thailand and I can say that this is about as authentic as it gets on this side of the world. The staff were warm and friendly. What I loved most was that I could choose the level of spiciness in my food. It was a great treat to get to do that. The prices are reasonable, the food is flavorful, and the service is excellent. Not thrilled. We decided to try this place because we're avid Thai food lovers. The menu doesn't have a lot of variety as far as dinner goes. They ask you what level you want your "spiciness" . I said 4 because I like it hot but not unbearable. Well, I would say mine was a level 1 in all seriousness. My husband got a level 5 and it wasn't much different. The chicken also tasted a little like rubber. Won't be back, which is a shame because we live around the corner. read more
