    Pad Prik Khing with pork
    Rissa W.

I made a comment on a facebook post about how my sister and I ate here years ago and the it reminded me of our mother who had a Thai restaurant in the 80s and won best in Phx several years. One of the owners, Kevin, reached out and kindly invited us to come back for dinner on them in honor of her. Kevin treated us as if we were old friends. He introduced his lovely wife and co-owner, Diana, who took a moment out of the kitchen to welcome us. We ordered Larb Gai for an appetizer. So good! I wanted to hog it all and not share with my sister. Tangy lime, salty fish sauce, refreshing mint and cilantro, bite of the onion, a little heat. Nice balance of flavors. I told her it was better than what I make. Kevin recommended Pad Thai. Now, I have never been a big fan of it and hardly ever order it when we go out, especially because most places put too much sugar and it is mushy or saucy. I don't know if they are trying to Americanize it or what. We decided to try it since he said it is made more traditionally. I am happy we did. The tangy tamarind taste wasn't lost in sugar like most places. It had just the right amount of sauce. I like a lot of bean sprouts and could have used a little more- but sometimes they take away from the flavor. I messed up when I ordered Prik Khing with pork. Kevin did recommend chicken, but since our other 2 dishes were chicken, I wanted to switch it up and can't eat beef. I wasn't a huge fan of the pork, but the green beans and the flavor of the sauce were so good. Would definitely try it with chicken next time. Portion sizes were big! Look at all the pork in the pic. Most places would do mostly green beans and a few pieces of meat. We ended up bringing a lot of the Pad Thai and Pad Prik Khing home because we were too full after we practically licked the Larb Gai plate clean. This will make me sound crazy, but their water and ice are so good! I am addicted to chewing ice so it is something that I take notice of. When I said something to Kevin, he said they bought a good filter for water and ice. I could really tell the difference. I don't get to go out to eat much and this is a little far, but plan on trying to bring the husband out next time we are in the area. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Thanks to social media, we found one of the few restaurants open on Christmas Day. Note that they do close between 3 and 4 PM for their lunch. What a sweet restaurant with the nicest people ever. They appreciated the fact that I knew how to say hello and thank you in Thai. They were busy with takeout orders. We ordered #40 & 44 pad see ewe and rad nhar. Pad See Ewe is a wide flat rice noodle with your choice of protein, egg, broccoli & carrots in a house brown sauce. Hubby chose pork as his protein. Rad Nhar is a stir fry flat noodle with choice of protein, broccoli, carrots, and garlic, soybean paste, gravy sauce. I chose chicken as my protein. We both chose the number one spice, which is very little. For those who love spice, you can get a number five, which is the hottest available. As I mentioned, they were super busy. Our meal took a little bit longer, but it was so delicious for both dishes. The food comes out super hot, temperature wise. There is a teaspoon of chili sauce on top of your meal. Distribute it evenly so that your tongue doesn't burn unless that's what you like. Number 44 comes in a light fragrant broth with soy beans and garlic on the bottom of the bowl. It was absolutely delicious. Very fresh vegetables cooked perfectly in both of the meals. Staff checked on us to make sure we liked our meal. A very nice experience. We will be back! Reasonable prices. Seafood is a bit more which is understandable. Shared parking in the huge plaza lot.

Ordered Uber eats from here a couple days ago. Was ready fast! I got the pad see ewe with double tofu. I forgot to ask for no egg, but it was pretty easy to separate out the egg so not a big deal! The meal was not great though, like I got medium spice and I'd say the spice level was accurate but just didn't have much flavor outside of it being a bit spicy. The carrots didn't look particularly fresh. The tofu was just ok, and the noodles were kinda stuck together in clumps. Usually Thai food tends to travel pretty well which is why I ordered it, but this didn't seem to. Overall it was not terrible, just not as good as some other local Thai spots!

The food is great more than enough if you don't want the extra spicy tell them tastes as good as Thai friends homemade. We will be back

I'm a fan. Happen to be in the area and glanced at the Yelp page to see the reviews. I was sold. Came around 4:30pm which they were busy with to go orders and a well seated amount of patrons. A popular spot for first responders as well. The service was quick considering there were only two servers. The price point was extremely reasonable. My Spicy Thai Basil without the green beans (3) spicy was soooooo good. I can handle spicy but their level (3) was HOT. I ate my whole plate. The jasmine rice was pretty tasty. I can tell the food is cooked to order. I will try this place again if I'm in the area.

Upon my approach, the exterior was so beautifully curated that I initially mistook it for an exclusive, private small garden. I stopped at Glai Baan and ventured inside, finding the dining room wonderfully bustling with a lively, fashionable crowd a thoroughly excellent sign. The venue offers the most delightful arrangements; one may choose to dine within the main room or enjoy a seat adjacent to the exquisite flower beds and lush, cool greenery. There is also a beautifully structured small bar. The entire aesthetic is nothing short of exceptional, and I found myself quite enamored with the decor. I escorted myself to an excellent table facing the bar and requested a traditional Thai Iced Tea to begin. The bartender was an absolute credit to the establishment immensely warm, professional, and genuinely friendly. The hospitality here is truly remarkable; the staff handles their patrons with the gracious care of family, which I found immensely pleasing. For my dinner entrée, I selected the Kanom Jeeb, which bears a marvelous resemblance to the finest dim sum found in elite Chinese establishments. The kitchen executed the order with commendable timing, and upon its elegant presentation, my evening meal was rendered entirely complete. The seamless blend of sophisticated flavor, beautiful botany, and refined hospitality was an absolute treat. I shall most certainly be returning to this charming sanctuary in the near future

Given the landlocked area and dearth of Asian markets, I have so much respect and awe that they dont hold back on lemongrass and all the thai spices in both of the food and cocktails. Loud, modern, and hip scene even on a Wednesday night. 45 min to 1 hour wait if you attempt walk in but we did reservations just a week prior. We opted for indoors since we visited in June heat and that was a great decision as we were sat in the back clubhouse which felt like a secret cocktail club. Btw, if you reserve indoors or outdoors, they will hold you to it. Save room for their hibiscus and lemongrass creme brûlée that has the perfect crust and smooth texture. Even if you can't take a lot of spice, they did a great job sharing what dishes would still work. Appreciated the thoughtful text ahead of time to arrive early for parking because yes, it's extremely challenging in that area even though my dad has a disabled placard. Just go here. So worth it. As a proud Yelp Elite, I decided to give this place a chance because the reviews were the best I saw in the city! The place was busy on a Sunday night and it is small but I never say customers waiting too long. There were two larger parties seated so the food took some time but nothing outrageous. We started with the calamari, spring rolls, and crab wontons. The calamari were the biggest I've ever seen and very delicious! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spring rolls or crab wontons. I feel like those are hard to get wrong but I was not a fan of the cream cheese that was used and it was a lot of it, barely any imitation crab. For entrees, I had the spicy basil and substituted ground chicken for chicken breast, my personal preference. I ordered level 2 spice but it was still a bit spicy for me. Trying a new Thai place is always hit or miss with spice levels so I actually thought I was being safe with 2. Additionally, the chicken was so bland. Some Thai places season their chicken, some do not and unfortunately Pad Thai Cafe missed that mark. My partner ordered the short rib curry dish and my goodness, it smelled like heaven and tasted just as good. I don't eat beef but had to taste it and it was divine! He also ordered spice level 2 and his dish was not as spicy as mine. Overall, the rest of the party enjoyed their food and there were good flavors there so I'd definitely recommend the entrees, not so much the starters.
