Been here quite a few times over the past few years and never had a problem. Went recently for lunch and ordered a shrimp, spinach and garlic pie. It came without garlic, no biggie, it happens. Bill came and they charged us the same amount for the the shrimp as the actual pizza! Medium pie $11.50 Spinach $2.25 Shrimp $11.00 Total $24.75 Asked if there was a miscalculation and was informed that there is no actual price! It's whatever the cook says it is... Really? Best pizza in Wallingford hands down! Stuffed bread is great, the pizzas are fantastic, and the canolis are tasty. The crust is what makes this pizza special. It has a bit of a crunch on bottom, but enough chew to keep that yeasty flavor. Crust is also hearty enough to hold up the ingredients without flopping. read more

My husband and I live in Boston and my stepdaughter was graduating from Sheehan so we took the family out to lunch prior to graduation. Since we eat in the North End often my expectations were not very high. Well I was very wrong everything our party of six ordered was exceptional. We started with fried mozzarella and garlic bread with cheese both were outstanding. The teens loved the bread basket as well. Our entrees also did not disappoint Chicken parm, eggplant parm, Italian trio, Penne with meat sauce and meatball and sausage. I'm a huge meatball fan and I'm telling you this is one of the best meatballs I have ever have. If you live near Wallingford and have not tried this place it is a must. 10/31/16 I had dinner last evening at Napoli Pizza & Restaurant. A welcome departure from the Italian restaurant I'd eaten at the night before. But that's covered in another review. As I stated in my previous review of this restaurant, Napoli Pizza has been serving up wonderful Sicilian & Neapolitan pizzas & Italian dishes since 1967. All under the direction of the same great family. My thanks to them. Last night I had a bowl of Rhode Island clam chowder that easily ranks in the top three that I've ever had. A great flavor, without being too salty, but having a good ratio of clams to potatoes to celery, etc. It was a special last evening. I hope they make it a regular menu option. The spaghetti with sausage entree I had was preceded by a nice, warm, fresh, small loaf of Italian bread with butter. A small garden salad that had my preferred iceburg lettuce, sliced grape tomatoes, cucumbers, slices of radish, as well as black & green olives was the perfect lead in to my main dish. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked, with a sauce I've grown to know very well over the last 48 years I've been a patron here. Well seasoned, not thin and watery, but with just a hint of sweetness. The sausage, as always, was plentiful, cooked perfectly, and sliced on a bias, the way I think it should be. Wonderful. I purposely didn't finish my meal, so I could have dessert. There was plenty to bring home, even after eating about half. For dessert I asked for a slice of cheesecake. I asked my server if there might be some fruit to top it with. She said they had a strawberry glaze offered. "Sounds great!" The glaze came in a separate little china cup for me to top it with as I liked. Nice touch! The glaze absolutely made the difference! My server was a delight from beginning to end. So glad I went to Napoli Pizza for dinner! read more

Just had lunch at Napoli Pizza on North Colony Road in Wallingford. We ordered anti pasta salad, sausage and mushroom, margarita, and buffalo chicken pizzas. The sausage and mushroom came out without the mushrooms. The margarita pizza came out very watery and the first piece my daughter had actually spilled onto her lap and table. But overall good crust and ingredients. The service was good except the bread came out as we were signing the check. A little helter skelter even though it wasn't busy. We ate out on the patio, which actually was very nice considering the restaurant is located in a strip mall. You don't even notice that. The restaurant was clean and modern. Bathroom was clean as well. Prices were about average. A good 3 star restaurant. Would go again if someone in our party suggests it. read more

Came here for lunch with a coworker. I heard good things about the food so I was excited. It'd unassuming on the outside but it's actually pretty nice inside. They even have a cute patio area. We were greeted warmly as soon as we entered and offered our choice of a seat inside or on the patio. We chose the patio since it was a nice day out. The menu was large with several lunch specials to choose from. I ordered a shrimp Caesar salad. My salad was good with large nicely grilled and seasoned shrimp. The portion size was good too. Been going to Napolis my entire life. Their food is just the best around. Their pizza is always cooked just right. And in my opinion they have the best alfredo sauce ive ever had (its not heavy and has great flavor) when i dont get pizza, i always get their tortellini Alfredo dinner. What sets Napoli apart is their customer service. Since theyve been around for years they know their customers by name and they know just how you like and want your pizza cooked. Quite simply, this is the best pizza in Wallingford. In my opinion, I'm not even sure there is a close second in town. Like any good Pizza place worth its sauce, there will be a line to get in on most weekends. Always a good sign. The service here is fantastic. The waitresses are all very friendly, and the owner is always visible right in front of the pizza ovens greeting customers and cashing you out. I absolutely love their tomato, garlic basil pizza. Quite possibly my favorite. However, while not much of a plain cheese guy myself, their mozzarella is very good and I often find myself eating a couple slices. They also make good dinners. Baked Ziti is my favorite. But as a pizza lover, I find myself ordering up pie's everytime I'm in. There's no better place in town to do so. read more

Walk into a very nice atmosphere. Bright modern lighting, wood columns and ample comfortable seating. Kitchen is right up front to see your pizza being made. Pizza came out fast. Nice thin crust, tender. Light and bright tomato flavor sauce. No detection of over spicing. A good layer of mozzarella. Pepperoni is thin and not fatty. Green peppers appear to be previously cooked/roasted. Overall a decent pizza. Fairly priced for what we got. Lots of pleasant customers dining on a late Saturday night made it very welcoming. Back in high school I worked at the Staples in the next store front over, and Napoli became my favorite local pizza place, even eclipsing Lido's in Meriden. The guys working the register were always friendly and after being away for 4-5 years, they still remembered me as one of the Staples guys. I loved to pop in a chat calcio (soccer) with them as they wondered why this American kid knows anything about their leagues. I have incredibly fond memories of pepperoni and mushroom slices with garlic bread/cheese on the side. The pizza-pops are tasty, stromboli-like pieces of delicious. Having been there hundreds of times, it's surprising that I've only ordered a full pizza a handful of times, but those are amazing as well. I'd definitely put Napoli and Lido's in Meriden in the same category of the best family Italian restaurants around. Not quite the gourmet standard of Fratelli's or one of the other classy places in the area, but that's not why you come here. Best Italian place around. We get the dinners, not the pizza. I can say that all dishes are quality ingredients and cooked right. They use high quality tomatoes in every sauce, unusual for most places -others use cheap tomatoes and/or paste. Here they tomatoes taste like San Marzano's. Any chicken dish is excellent-haven't eaten Veal, but Chicken piccata; marsala and specials have always been right on-thin medallions, real olive oil and butter in the sauces, lemons, wine and capers in the piccata. The breads are all served warm and there are 3 kinds-rustic crusty bread; grinder rolls and garlic/herb focaccia. We were craving some Italian-American food and Napoli Pizza seemed to fit the bill. There was a bit of a wait, even on a weeknight, so this place is popular. We were offered a sample of the stuffed bread while we waited. I was glad we got to try it because other yelper talk about it so much, but in that sample, I thought it was really mediocre unfortunately. Our table service was brusk and not the most friendly. We ordered spaghetti & meatballs and a pasta special of the night. The meatballs were tasty and it was about what you'd expect from your meal. My pasta special was cavatelli with eggplant, tomatoes, and gorgonzola in a light red sauce. I wanted to like my dish more, but the flavor combination wasn't the greatest success. The portions here are huge, so if you're light eaters you can share one dish and the bread and be pretty stuffed. read more

My girlfriend and I needed to stretch our legs after a long drive, so she brought me a petstore she used to go to in college so we could look at the puppies. We needed food too, and saw Napoli just a few stores down--surprisingly, she'd never been there. It was pretty dead, being the middle of the day on a Thursday and all, but the server was sweet, although a little over attentive (I'm sure the poor thing was bored) and the guys behind the counter were friendly. I ordered a pannini, my girlfriend ordered a small calzone, and we were both stuffed. Napoli is truly an Italian place--they serve real calzones with ricotta and mozzarella rather than just mozzarella like most places. Authenticity gives them an extra star! Next time we're driving through (which is often enough), we're going to have to stop here for pizza. read more

Last night was my second visit to Napoli. It was crowded when we arrived but our party of 5 was were seated within 3 minutes...score! I split a Hawaiian pie with a couple others and it was very yummy- good crust with the perfect amount of sauce. My cousin got fettucine alfredo which was delicious as well (he was nice enough to let me sample :) I've tried their thick crust Sicilian pizza in the past and that's good too, but it's very doughy. I like a lot of sauce on my pizza so the ratio of dough to sauce doesn't quite do it for me. Overall, a good spot with quality food. read more

Napoli is by far my fav local pizza spot- We have been going here for years. They have great pizza and also offer a thick crust which I had no idea I would even enjoy- so heavy but soooo delicious! They also have great lunch specials if you have time to sit down for a little bit- they are not offered for take out at the lunch special prices. They have a large menu including calzones, grinders, dinners, salads and they always have specials. There is a lot to love about this place- the wait staff are excellent, the restaurant is always clean, they have a semi secluded outdoor patio area for the summer time, the soups are homemade, the bread and salad is always fresh, if there is a wait (like there usually is on the weekend) they bring around appetizers to the waiting crowd and they're right next door to a pet store so our routine is usually go have dinner, then go next door and window shop for puppies!!(always a bad idea but I can't stop). I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

All the locals know this restraunt is the real deal. Pizza is great, thin crust, great sauce. The real surprise is the entrees. Delicious, awesome, freshly made. No frozen food here. The menu even says " our meals are hand made, so please be patient" Never had to wait too long. The Veal parm is unbelivable. Service is good, never had a problem. Everyone is friendly and outgoing. They recently moved (still in same plaza). New place is much more open,and brighter. I loved the old place, as it was dark and old school. 2 thumbs up. read more

I came here with my family last week. We enjoyed our time very much. It has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere which was nicely highlighted by their friendly staff. It has an older Italian theme which clashes nicely with their excellent Italian food. We started out with the bruschetta Napoli for an appetizer, which was amazing. It was full of flavor with the roasted eggplant on it and fresh basil, it was awesome. We then had two of their specialty pizzas. We had the primavera and the 7 item Sicilian. The primavera was full of fresh veggies it was very refreshing for a pizza. And the Sicilian was very delicious. It was full of just the right ingredients. I remember Napoli Pizza from way back (80-90's). I just recently rediscovered it - and it is like going home in all the right ways. Friendly family service, actual comfortable happy restaurant atmosphere, satisfied customers, and great food. brought up in Yalesville, Napoli has been around as long as i can remember. (late sixty's) if i remember, sign out front used to say Slice $.25. The restaurant has expanded since then, but same friendly experience whenever i go. food is Great and staff is polite and caring. best bruschetta i have ever had period ! pretty sure the original owners are back in italy, but as the restaurant was passed down over the years they have lost nothing when it comes to a wonderful dining experience. read more

I've been going here since I was a little kid. Napoli's has THE BEST Sicilian pizza in the area. I defy anyone to tell me differently. When ordered with a 'well done' crust, I have found no other pizzeria in the world that makes a better Sicilian. I usually get it with meatball and mushroom, both items sliced thin and cooked to perfection. This is what a pizza should be. The new restaurant space is great and the food here has always been top notch. Try to find a table between 5 and 7 ANY night. it's always packed and has been for over 30 years. One of the best places for pizza!! There are other Napolis out there but none like this location in Wallingford. I've been going to this location for 6+ years and the food is always fresh. Sauce tastes home made & they actually grow their own herbs in their garden which is just outside the restaurant away from the public. Tony, one of the cooks knows almost everyone by name. He even knows how much I love their oregano on my pizza (that they grow) that from hearing my name when I order pick up to when I dine in, he gives me some extra on the side & says, "I know how much you like this." Chicken Parm is also great & its a nice atmosphere although the restaurant is in a storefront setting. If you order take out & arrive to pick up your food but theres a wait, the cooks come out, offers everyone in the waiting room some stuff bread free of charge with a smile on their face. They get very busy & are still pleasant. Hats off to the cooks!!! My ideal pizza is cheese with pepperoni, onions & peppers. Their extra cheese is so good that its the only place that I would order a plain with x-tra cheese pizza. Eat it while its hot though because it never tastes the same once it cools. On a side note, the servers could smile a little more. They always get your order right & aren't rude but they're also not personable. A smile goes a long way servers. ;) I will definitely keep returning. read more

The service is great, and you can usually snag a free sample of something from Tony if you're picking up a pizza. Their desserts, especially the cannolis, are also great! I only have had reheated slices from Napoli .. and they were OK. The story is that the plain slices were just kinda old and dead .. greasy, limp, blah. The saving grace for me was the sicilian slice - even reheated it held up well and tasted good, nice thick crust with a little crunch.
