My grandparents have been going here for years- presentation was much better than I remembered. Portions are very generous for the price, though the eggplant and chicken parm etc dont seem to have pasta included (though $20 for bread, salad. and large portions still seems to be a good deal). Always great food here. We mostly like the pizza, but we have been branching out to try the rest of the menu. I had the grilled honey salmon VERY good! We were visiting the Wallingford area and found this restaurant on Yelp. The Staff were very attentive. Salad or soup came with meal as well as homemade bread. I haven't been to Fratelli's in about 20 years and have fond memories from back then... however I heard they are under new ownership and wanted to give them a try... and was not disappointed. The quality of the dishes are way up, my cutlet and my eggplant were perfect and super crispy. Sauce was great, the mandolin potatoes au gratin were a very nice touch. For some reason, finding great Italian in the Wallingford area has been tough for while, but not anymore! I just found my regular weekly Italian spot to get a solid meal. 100% will be back as a regular. read more

I recently went to a party that was catered by Fratilli's. I had their chicken marsala, and chicken francaise. Both entrées were delicious. The chicken francaise was one of the best I ever had. It's been a while since we been here due to Covid and I was pregnant,l. During that time their menu changed and so did the food (not sure if they have a new chef?). I ordered chicken saltimbocca which I've had numerous times here before and it was not at all the same. It wasn't good. Considering it was my birthday and I had requested to get food from here I was highly disappointed. My husband said his food was still good/the same (he orders the same thing every time- zuppa de pesce white) however we specifically asked for the olive oil to go with the loaf of bread we ordered and we didn't get it. Updating to 3 stars because my meal was terrible and they left out the olive oil. Im hoping it's a fluke but I certainly won't be ordering my meal ever again. read more

Spent an evening here with some good friends - overall our experience was good. When first walking in, I was super confused because I was immediately greeted by a small room and a counter. Definitely not what I expected when walking into a restaurant - but then I remembered "Ah! This is also a pizzeria"! The actual Fratelli's restaurant (not the pizzeria) is in the door immediately to our right. My party of 4 came on a slow Wednesday evening so we were attended to almost immediately. Well actually, we were never brought to our tables... we just picked our own table because there was no hostess or waiter in the immediate room after the pizzeria section. We seated ourselves in the adjacent room that was finely decorated and felt pretty fancy. All of the tables were super duper clean and the table settings were pretty neat. Our waiter was friendly and attentive to our orders. The only thing he missed was allowing us to sample our wine before accepting the entire bottle for the table. No big deal in the end because the wine is perfect. Bread and oil were offered and we graciously accepted them. Their oil was fantastic by the way. Our pizzas came about 30 minutes later. We had our drinks readily filled when they were nearing their end and were quick to give us take home boxes when asked. Overall our experience was pleasant and I do anticipate coming back again. read more

This is the last time we will order from Fratelli's. We have patronized this restaurant for 22 years and never had a single complaint. The food has always been incredible and the service great. The last time we ordered a large pan of lasagna and it didn't taste very good. We quickly realized they didn't even bother to use real noodles (they used to)! They used the awful, cardboard tasting and flat quick-cook noodles and the meat was really gristly. Pretty frustrating to spend $50 on a pan of lasagna, just to have them skimp on the products. I could have made it myself for half that. Thought we would save some time though and have some to freeze for later. Tonight I called and ordered two cheese pizzas with extra sauce and some fried mozz. The fried mozz used to be triangles and delicious! Now they taste like fast food cheese sticks and have no flavor- also had a 1/4" long wooden splinter in one. Thank goodness I noticed it before I ate it! The pizzas were the worst we've ever had! Not only was there no extra sauce, there was hardly any at all. The majority of the pizza was just terrible, flavorless, congealed cheese and dough. Out of two large pizzas, my family of five with three teen/tween boys only ate 1/2 of one pizza. Unbelievable! My kids were throwing the pizza in the trash because it was inedible. I guess this was our last time ordering from Fratelli's. So disappointing. It used to be our favorite restaurant. So sad. My two stars were extremely generous. read more

It didn't have to come this 1* rating but I absolutely loathe liars and poor customer service. I ordered a very simple dish. I looked at their website that had alot to choose from. I finally by the description of their meal ordered my entree. They told me it would take about an hour to deliver so I picked it up instead. I'm copying and pasting this off of their website. "Chicken Piccata prosciutto, caper berries, lemon sauce $15.50" Right off of their page. Got my meal, brought it home, opened it up. I got chicken, caper berrys and ziti. I called up and said I got chicken but where's the prosciutto? He said oh let me see? I spoke to the owner it doesn't come with prosciutto u need to order the sorrento if you want that. I said I'm looking at your website I'm reading u the description and also u charged me $18 when it says $15.50 he said oh those are old prices. Well wtf. Old description, old peices, tastless food. I said this food was not good. He said that's our most popular dish. Well if that's their most popular dish. Chicken ziti 4 caper berries and a mocoussy sauce I don't want to find out what the rest of their food and prices end up being. I originally was going to have this delivered so I have my c.c. info over the phone. So when I got there she said its all taken care of. No receipt, no anything. Just handed me my food and I was on my way. If they had admitted like oh crap we messed up the order and agreed to fix it, they would have gotten a 3 star maybe. But because they lied about the ingredients and lied about the price. Their ego and bland ass chicken and caper berrys just gained them a poor review. I recommend not lying to your customers especially when they've given you the opportunity to fix their order. I recommend Michaels Trattoria for 2 bucks more get yourself a real meal. read more

I'm not on yelp to nitpick and that is why I am giving this place 5 stars across the board. Giving any negatives for one or two things that aren't perfect are the people that are just out to try to make a name for themselves, so they can feel a sense of worth and I'm not here for that. We went for an after funeral buffet and everyone was blown away by the food, and service. Usually there is someone out of the bunch that doesn't like something, but not one had any gripes. Were there a few minor things... maybe, but they would be so miniscule that it would not be worth bringing up, because they had quite a few people to attend to. Please try this restaurant, because we all were more than pleased with everything. My wife and I can't wait to go back for a private meal, and we will be soon. When you get fantastic food in a buffet, I can't imagine what a private sitting will be like. The widower and family couldn't have asked for a better farewell for their loved one. My wife took us there last night for a quick bite - she'd been there once before.... It looked like any other Italian neighborhood restaurant - until we sat down. Our friendly waiter greeted us immediately, was polite and not pushy. My wife asked about their grinder rolls - the waiter was also the BAKER! Long story short, he was Kosavan, the owner, his wife, and several customers were all from the Balkan countries on the Adriatic Sea. We had a wonderful visit with the whole staff along with great grinders. Hers was Chicken Parm, mine was Meatballs. They were as good as any I've had around. As it turns out the owner's cousins also came to this country for opportunity and opened restaurants in the area. I'll visit and review the others as well. I got the recommendation of Fratelli's from a friend. I was a little weary as it was 6:30 and it wasn't very busy. I happened to ask some others on their way out and they said it was amazing. They also had lots of Togo boxes in their hand as that is usually a sign that their portions are large. The bread that they gave was very good Italian bread. I asked for oil and vinegar but for some reason I was given red wine vinegar instead of balsamic. I got mozz sticks for an appetizer. They were good but very small portion. I got the chicken saltimbocca. This is chicken with prosciutto, spinach over kind of a gravy sauce. There were also some potatoes in there. It was good although the chicken was a little rubbery. You should never have to struggle to cut chicken. It came with a side of marinara penne pasta and a house salad. A lot of food for the price. My mom had eggplant parm which she said was great and the pizza looked good. I'd go back. read more
