    The seafood Salad

Outstanding Ristorante, Sam the owner is a really friendly guy. The food was absolutely delusional. I had a nice cup of clam chowder and a wonderful seafood Salad. I would highly recommend it.

By the way, under past reviews they mention the frozen peas as well.

I called ahead of time specifically to ask if they had fresh oysters, I asked when they last had their shipment or received them as well, and was given very vague answers and just was continuously told that they were large and fresh. I came in to see the oysters and potentially have any other items on their menu. I ended up getting the Pene ala vodka which had bacon and frozen peas that were hard and that still felt hard when I ate it. Last but not least the oysters were thick, slimy, and old the best description I can give you to eating them...was trying to swallow and chew an equivalent of your own tongue with a thick slime coating and metallic taste afterward. The lack of Brine appearance of swelling made me concerned for what temperature they were also stored in. It made me aware that they were old. When I expressed this to the owner, he had told me what I wanted and asked if I ever eaten oysters before...I told him I have, but that these didn't taste exactly right to me. Very rude. I was happily going to order more to take home to family, but after my experience and the pasta ending up being mediocre, I don't think I'll ever recommend this place to anyone ever again. I hope that my stomach doesn't get sick from the oysters when I attempted to eat one. I have eaten dozens of oysters and have never had an experience like this, not only that, but the oysters were served on ice trays cubes that were still connected that look like they just were grabbed out of the ice machine.

Prime rib sandwich, least favorite but fries were good

First visit, chosen for the live music and a prime rib special. Food was overall very good with a few minor issues. Prime rib was only offered medium well to well done although it was tasty would have preferred more rare. Escargot was rich and salty served without shells. Fresh rolls were particularly good! My daughter got the prime rib sandwich and didn't care for it, thought the onions were too strong and had to scrape off the horseradish which was already on the sandwich; perhaps would have been better to serve such a strong condiment on the side. Lamb chops delicious and perfectly done. Couldn't complain about the chocolate mousse cake and ice cream desserts which were excellent! Service was attentive and prompt and the jazz music in the bar in the next room didn't overwhelm the conversation. A fun Saturday night and I would certainly return!

This was my 2nd time there, very good food every time! Everything is freshly made, doesn't taste like it was frozen & reheated. I like ambiance of the place and sitting in their den/ bar area is cozy. The service was excellent and they are very accommodating. I recommend this place and will be returning.

Kitchen doors were hidden by a high wall and the wait station.

We went on a Sunday night around 5 and it was not busy. They did have a party in the back room but that did not affect our visit. We started with the fried burratta cheese. While we waited for that, they served the most delicious warm rolls with a generous serving of softened butter. The appetizer came out fairly quickly which I thought was fast. It came out with 2 round balls gently fried with a small bowl of sauce. When we cut into the cheese it didn't ooze out like it should have. At least that's what I've experienced at other places. We also noticed that the center was still cold. The sauce was nothing to write home about. The servers were all attentive. The small side salad was exactly that and I ordered the house vinaigrette which I have no idea what was in it but it was not tasty at all to me. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana for my dinner entree which comes with linguine. It was probably 4-5 layers of eggplant. Very filling and absolutely delicious. Same Sauce was served with my meal. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp scampi which also came with linguine. The 6 shrimp were butterflied and they were shelled all the way back to the tip of the tail, which is unusual but so much easier to eat. The Scampi sauce was very flavorful. Against our better judgement, we ordered the carrot cake to split. That was very good but, again, I've had better. We didn't order alcoholic beverages but in one of my pictures you can see the wine bottles displayed throughout the restaurant were a nice touch.

I ordered a mushroom, tomato and cheddar omelet with shredded hash browns, a side of sausage patties, and Italian bread toast. I was given my choice or 4-5 different ways to have the hash browns including patties, cubed potatoes, and shredded. The side of sausage was a generous 3 patties; they had links, pork or chicken sausages. My omelet was perfectly cooked, and the shredded hash browns were crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. Truly delicious. My friend Sia had a bowl of cheesy grits, a Spanish omelet with shredded hash browns, rye toast and a side pancake. Please take a peek at how huge her pancake was! She enjoyed every part of her breakfast too. Portions were extremely generous; we both brought home enough for another satisfying meal. The waitress was very nice and the right amount of attentive. I apologize for the quality of some of my photos... the sun was shining in.

Everything was alright, no complaints. Service was stellar, someone kept filling my coffee up, much appreciated. Place is a bit noisy, because it's on the small side and there is a lot of clanking & banging of silverware and dishes. All in all though, my expectations for a filling breakfast were met, and I was on the road again in less than an hour.

Today (for Valentine's Day) my wife and I went to La Tavola for the first time. Not sure why we hadn't gone yet, but now realizing it was far too long of a wait to try it. We both had the 16 oz. pork chop dinner, which is a staple item on their menu. Amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned with Swiss chard, fingerling potatoes, hot peppers, and pancetta. We also had a bottle of Aglianico wine (a wonderful red Italian Campania region wine) and ended with their house made Tiramisu dessert (arguably top 3 we've ever had) and cappuccino. We waited at a random table because there were no seats at the bar. After 20 minutes they took us down to the basement where we sat alone. They said they didn't expect to be that busy that night but it was a random Friday night, but it seemed like they just overbooked and didn't really care about us. If it wasn't a pain to find parking and absolutely pouring, I probably would have left, the vibes were weird. Our waitress was really nice as was the busboy/food runner and made some good recommendations on the menu. Everything we had was decent enough, but not mind-blowing. I'd come back but not clamoring to come back right away.
