    Burger Special

We had planned to go somewhere else but it was late on a Saturday night and that place was busy so we last minute pivoted to here. Upon arriving we'd realized we'd eaten at this restaurant before (when it was in a different location) and eaten in this building before (when it was a different business). Caesar salad appetizer was excellent. Kids Mac and cheese was maybe one of the best Mac and cheeses we'd ever had, kids or not. And it was great as a pizza topping. My wife and I split a wagyu burger and The Craft Pie. The burger we believe we got someone else's, it was missing the espresso aioli and prosciutto jam. It wasn't until we finished it that we realized it was way different than we expected. The pizza was excellent however. I could have done without the pears but so many other flavors that were excellent, though the real winner was the sour cherries. I'd come back again just for this pizza.

We have been here several times and tonight was the best service we've had. Austin was great. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. Even my 12 year old. He doesn't like Mac and cheese but he ate it here. My miso crusted salmon with faro peach salad was wonderful. Oh I almost forgot about the baked Brie. I didn't have any but everyone else said it was really good. Bring a big appetite because the portions are a nice size. The feel of the place is comfy and a little rustic. It's a great blend. I do recommend making reservations as the weekends are busy.

Craft Kitchen blends open, industrial charm with cozy comfort. The high ceilings, warm lighting, and mix of bar and booth seating make it an inviting spot whether you're stopping in for lunch or lingering over dinner. There's both indoor and outdoor dining, and everything felt clean, spacious, and relaxed. We stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon, and seating was easy. Our server was attentive, friendly, and kept things moving smoothly. Parking is shared with nearby businesses, so while it was fine midweek, I imagine it could get tricky on a busy Friday night. Their menu covers brunch, lunch, and dinner. You'll find a mix of sandwiches, pizzas, soups, charcuterie, and skillets. My friend ordered the sangria, while I went for their Pumpkin Pie Mocktail -- a seasonal blend of pumpkin, apple, and maple that was surprisingly refreshing and full of fall flavor. You could really taste both the pumpkin and apple coming through in each sip. For my main, I ordered the Smokehouse Platter -- where you choose your meats (pick 1 for $18 up to 4 for $40). Every option comes with two sides and cornbread. I went with Pulled Pork and Spicy Pork Belly Burnt Ends, paired with mac and cheese and fries, plus an added side of Mexican Street Corn. The hickory wood smoking brought out a deep, rich flavor without overpowering the meats. The pork belly wasn't exactly spicy, but beautifully seasoned, tender, and perfectly charred on the ends. The pulled pork was also flavorful, smoky and moist texture. Other meat selections include half chicken, jalapeño cheddar sausage, brisket (+$6), burnt ends (+$10), and a half rack of baby back ribs (+$14). The mac and cheese deserves its own shout-out -- creamy, cheesy, and comforting without an upcharge like most places (and definitely not Kraft). The cornbread added a nice savory touch against the sweetness of the meats, while the street corn was perfectly grilled, juicy, and full of flavor. My cousin ordered a burger and loved it -- juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. Portions are generous; honestly, my platter could have easily fed two. I enjoyed the mac and cheese so much I ordered another one to-go -- always a good sign. Overall: Craft Kitchen delivers solid service, great flavors, and a relaxed atmosphere. The pricing feels fair for the portions, and everything tasted thoughtfully prepared. Perfect for casual meetups, family dinners, or laid-back nights out. Next time, I'm coming back for brunch.

We've been here several times and have always had a phenomenal meal. I love their smoked wings and their barbecue. Excellent flavor, well seasoned and smoked, not too salty. good portion of meat. I also appreciate that they serve the sauce on the side.

I had wanted to try Craft Kitchen for awhile but unfortunately this visit didn't work out well for us. I thought that having pasta dishes with red sauce or vodka sauce would lend itself to vegetarian options for my veg husband but all of their sauces have meat. I opted for the Mac & cheese with pulled pork and the Mac & cheese was great the pulled pork which was a hefty up charge was all fat and inedible I was sorely disappointed, my husband had the Mac and cheese pizza and he liked it, we both had drinks which were good and our waiter was very nice, but not a return visit unfortunately.

    3 meat Pick Three Platter

Came in for lunch, ordered 35 dollar 3 meat combo came with half chicken, pulled pork, sausage and side of mac, rice and beans, and cornbread. All i can say was every piece of meat was cold or luke warm and definitely made the day before, pulled pork and chicken where extremely dry and had almost no flavor, corn bread tasted store bought and cold out the fridge was very surprised as the reviews are good here. Will not be back.

I loved the openness of this restaurant, very cute and clean. We had good service, delicious drinks, I ordered a steak with maple brussel sprouts and they were great. The steak was cooked how I liked and the vegetables had really good flavor. I'd love to come back next time I'm in the area.

I've dined at Craft Kitchen twice now, and I have to say I'm really impressed with their menu and the quality of their food. We timed our second visit perfectly with the launch of their new fall menu items, and also discovered they had recently brought in a bunch of new barbecue items from their Bird Dog BBQ concept. Everything is farm-to-table fresh! The servers have been friendly and attentive both times, and the restaurant has a nice laid back vibe. I hope to come back soon to try even more menu items!

This place is amazing, come for drinks and stag for food or come for food and stay for drinks! Both are amazing! The smoked old fashioned is a nice touch, smoked right in front of you! The poutine is one of the best poutines I have had in a long time, the brisket is so tender and moist, add that to the curds, gravy and hand cut fries! Service was on point! Looking forward to dining again soon!

The best way I can describe Craft Kitchen is tastefully rustic. Every decor piece fits together like a puzzle, creating a cohesive experience. I loved the glassware because it had an embellished stem and held a lot of liquid. It was light to hold and well-made. My martini was mixed quickly in the cocktail shaker, so it was served strong and not very cold. The olives were extraordinarily crunchy, and this hardness took away a bit from their overall enjoyment. They did have a nice salty flavor. My BLT was served on a deliciously seasoned crispy roll. Unfortunately, since my fries were limp and soggy, they were inedible. Another highlight was the house-made pickles served paper thin with a delicious brine. The bartender was good-natured and a pleasure to interact with. He also provided fantastic service.

We couldn't wait to come back. Several months later on our second visit, we arrived well before their posted closing time - 9pm. It was around 7:45pm, the lights were on, but the door was locked and the staff seemed to be cleaning up. One of them looked up, saw us standing at the door and then went back to doing whatever they were doing without bothering to engage with us. It was incredibly frustrating having driven almost an hour with the expectation of getting some delicious food, only to be ignored by staff at a time when they were supposed to be open. Many months later (giving them the benefit of the doubt that the early closure on our last visit was a fluke) we made the trip up again. We arrived to find the place was locked up and dark - again during a time when they were supposed to be open. Today I was with some friends and we stopped to have lunch at Smokin' With Chris next door. During our meal, I mentioned my past experiences with The Lab, but also said how good the food was. So, we walked over to look at the menu and possibly pick up dinner for later that evening. It was around 1:30pm, the lights were off and the door was locked. I double-checked their website, and they were supposed to be open at 11:30am. While I was on my phone, an employee came up, unlocked the door, turned on the lights and began his shift - two full hours after they were supposed to be open! WTF?! Apparently, the owners of The Lab seem to believe that their food is so epic that they can just operate their business whenever they like regardless of their posted hours. This total lack of consideration for their customers is beyond insulting. It's really too bad because the food is good, but not good enough to offset the unprofessional manner the owners are running (or in this case, not running) this place. There are way too many other great dining options available nearby that actually adhere to their posted hours to put up with this nonsense.

The price for takeout for these (3) things were on the high side to not include a side salad. With that said, we were aware that those weren't included as it wasnt listed on their online ordering. We just figured the portion for both Entrees were likely larger and thats why you paid a la carte for the salad. We come back home with the takeout and to our surprise for quite a high price, the portions were small. How small, each meal fit with pasta inside a plastic container, similar to those used for Asian takeout. For any other restaurant that serves Chicken Parmigana, its always been a larger round metal dish with pasta on the side. Typically with 2 pieces of chicken. Putting portion aside as one can argue that we may have been able to find that out before ordering, the (2) entrees were not great. The Chicken Parmigana had one piece of chicken and the chicken was charred, dry, minimal amount of cheese and the both the chicken and pasta itself had a scarce amount of pasta sauce. I found myself having to scrub the side of the dish for any sauce left. The lemon bay chicken was also quite dry and unfortunately the mixture of recip (chicken, pasta and sauce) was quite tasteless. I'm not typically one to leave a 1 or 2 star reviews often, as I'd rather just not go again to the place where I had said experience but between the quality of food, price and portion, this place falls into a bit of an exception for me. Look, I've eaten at many places, if your portions are going to small for the price (and without sides), then the quality needs to EXCEED the excepted regional standard for that dish to justify that reasoning. This experience did not do that, instead we are left with half of take home container of each meal that we will have to toss in trash for Fathers Day.

It is way more spacious than their previous location and nicely decorated. We sat in a nice Modular Half Moon Restaurant Sofa in the back. Felt like I was looking down upon the rest of the guests having dinner. Nice table just felt a bit like we were on display however I still enjoyed as I love the style of these tables. Our waiter I think was new and definitely did not know wine. We asked for a bottle of the Merlot, which he pronounced back to us "Mer-LOT." I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when he left the table. Someone else came and opened the wine for us and when our main server came to check on us, he grazed the side of my glass and freaked, telling us the glasses are $500 each and if he breaks one, it comes out of his paycheck. Ummm what? This stuff we probably should not know! Again, I think he was new, probably not having much experience as a waiter. He definitely needs training on how to pronounce wine! Moving on to the cheese, they used to give you a cheese board with a few different cheeses. It's a bit different now. They give you whipped butter, a few pieces of cheese (last night was Cheddar), roasted red peppers, and whipped goat cheese with a touch of honey on top and some bread. Not sure if this changes/rotates at their new location. We chose not to do the raw bar or appetizer courses (fyi those are extra). For my salad, I chose the Signature Salad (forgot to take a picture of this course). This is where things went downhill for me. I asked for no apples. He said no problem. He did not tell us they ran out of the dried cranberries and caramelized nuts which to me make the whole salad. I used to love this salad at the old location. So, when telling us the specials he did say he "thinks" they had one salmon entree left, but had to check. Restaurants run out of things, and I get it, but take that salad off the menu if you're out of 2 ingredients and the customer asks for no apples. All that we got on our salads was lettuce, gorgonzola and fried potato skins. I feel like I had French fries on top of lettuce. It was awful. Also, I'm the only one that asked for no apples and my boyfriend got the same salad I got with only potato skins and lettuce and gorgonzola so clearly they were running out of things. We then saw other customers getting the same salad lacking main ingredients. For my entree, I got the Heavenly, which was supposed to have a lobster sauce. I couldn't put my finger on what the flavor of the sauce was. It was strange. It wasn't bad, it just didn't really go with the lobster. It had a brown tint to it. The manager came over after we ate and asked us how things were, and I told him about the salad and asked what the flavor in the sauce was. He told us a crab style sauce which made sense. Boyfriend had the filet. He said it wasn't Ruth's Chris good, but it was good. Mashed potatoes were very bland. Presentation was pretty bad. Dessert they get from a third party. I had the flourless chocolate cake which was the best part of the meal. Desserts are where they have improved with the new location. They used to give you petit fours style desserts, and now they give you full size desserts. It was delicious. I really want to like this place more because I like the concept of what they do. I guess on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays the chef creates whatever he'd like for guests for $25 a head. Mystery meals. The manager said that's where the name "Adventures in Eating" comes from. Again, we had come here previously, and I had a problem the last time with the Branzino where the waitress didn't tell me it came as the whole fish. Servers are friendly here, they just aren't top notch. Food is ok.

Now, I am in the dog house because they want to know when the next time that we are going. I had the chicken club and it was absolutely delicious. A huge piece of chicken with plenty of flavor. My sister had the short rib sandwich and was raving about it once we continued our drive saying she was so glad she had it even though she had short ribs herself for dinner the previous night. I don't know if that's an indictment on her cooking or what, but she loved it. The star however was the cod dinner that mom had. It was one of the flakiest and freshest pieces of fish she had ever had. We got a very late start to our trip, so by the time 2:00 came on the Saturday afternoon came, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. The only gripe that we had ( not that we necessarily would have changed anything ) was that we noticed after we ordered that the table next to us got a specials menu and we didn't. It was nice and quiet as our waitress let us have a quiet late lunch and if we were ever in the area ever again, we would make a b-line back to the restaurant.

It's almost like the place was woke. So cruising the menu, I ordered the 110 Cuban sandwich$16.00. My friend ordered the cheeseburger, 17. +. Each of the sandwiches came with an order of french fries, or a choice of any other sides. I think there was maybe three or four other ones. Quickly the the lunch has arrived. I noticed that my friend's cheeseburger was well done and on the small side, just a little bit bigger than a slider. My 110 Cuban sandwich consisted of pulled pork, which was more barbecued and smoky than Cuban, and ham, which I couldn't taste, and a very overpowering cheese. I couldn't taste the pickle either. This was all served on a smaller sized what looked like Texas toast. The french fries were a very small order, and for a side it was disappointing. For the money paid for the sandwich and a side they could've upped the quantity of the french fries Both lunches were disappointing I'm gonna give this place three stars because the service was really nice. Our server was so attentive, especially with filling the water glasses, and asking if we needed anything else. So, with all this said, this place, reminds me of a cross between a Friendly's where you can view the open kitchen, and a sports bar. I'm not feeling this place to frequent after work for cocktails. There aren't enough televisions. I only saw one. The bar did look interesting though. The restaurant itself was comfortable, I liked the high tables and seating. The food is chain style and it just doesn't taste fresh. I was completely turned off with the way. My friends cheeseburger looked, all overcooked and stuff when she asked for medium rare, I don't think that was an option. I think they just cooked it full-blown well done I saw that there were some other dinner menu items priced from $25 to a little bit over $40. I would pass on these as this wouldn't be the place I would drop $100 for dinner on with a date or otherwise. I don't think I would even want this to be a business men's lunch. With so many other choices for local restaurants, I can see why a lot of these franchises are closing. This place is also on the pricy side.

In a town full of pizza places, this is surely one to avoid! I don't often post reviews and when I…read moredo, it's either for an amazing experience or a terrible one; this one is on the latter end. Ordered a Penne ala Vodka pizza, which is one of my favorites to get. Now, you would think that ordering a pizza like that, the sauce in it would either be vodka sauce or at the very least a white sauce to allow the "ala vodka" to shine.... Boy would you be in for a surprise if you got it...RED SAUCE!! On a "ala vodka" pizza?! All the description says is "Aces award winning pizza" so I guess you're supposed to guess incorrectly at their pizza. Apparently, there's also a "Vodka Pizza" on the menu with vodka sauce, but that doesn't come with any pasta on it and is extra money to add to it. Make that make sense. Anyways, called to ask why it was like this and the owner, whose name is "Ace" must have gotten offended because he told me it was "award winning" and that I didn't know what I was talking about. He hung up on me! If I am going to pay $25 for a pizza there are plenty of other places in town I would go to: Domenic and Vinnie's, Riverbend, even Spartan's! If you want an excellent Penne Ala Vodka pizza, go to The Avenue in Berlin, CT and don't patronize this place!!

I was really craving some pizza (and also had no desire to cook) so I decided to check out Nonna!…read moreIt was just myself for the night so I was trying find somewhere that sold by slice, which is not very typical for CT pizza places but after doing some research, I saw they had slices! After driving 20 minutes, when I got there, I saw there were no slices and was informed they don't sell by slice, which was disappointing. However, they must've sold by the slice at one point because the pictures on yelp show differently, but the pictures I looked at must've been on the older side, which is partially my fault. With that, I ordered their famous penne vodka pizza and I thought the sauce was very good! I don't think I am a new haven pizza style girl through and through but this one wasn't bad. The only thing is that the pasta and cheese were sliding off, making it impossible to eat for first 20 minutes. I also got a chicken parm sandwich and the pieces of chicken were cut up almost too much that every time I took a bite, pieces of chicken were flying out. I would've preferred one big piece of chicken instead of it being sliced up. My dog did enjoy the pieces that fell on the floor, haha!
