The customer service was great. We tried to order the captain's platter and whole belly clams but he advised that it's a lot of food and the platter already contained whole clams. I listened. The fish was super thick and we had an issue with it and he replaced it . Coleslaw was good. The onion rings were frozen :( not the string my kind. It's is nothing fancy - paper plates and 20 oz sodas in the fridge. You pay at the counter and they bring the food out. They're patio seating and also more seating in the back parking lot . Would i go back? Absolutely! But I'll order bellow and try the lobster. The surrounding area could be cleaned up . I didn't like parking in the back.

For the love of seafood I need "nothing fancy" anywhere to get a good catch is enough for me!!!! Small restaurant that serves extremely fresh seafood, inside and outside seating is available with a super casual environment. Service is a counter order, grab a drink and sit......beach style!! BYOB is a great addition. The food is delicious however something strange happened both orders we had were fried, with fries....they were served freezing cold.....this is extremely unusual they were definitely cooked, quite possibly a bit over fried.....hmmm! Definitely couldn't eat the cold fries. We also noticed another couple sending their food back, we didn't say anything, it was just a quick bite for us....We will try this place again.....looking forward to HOT seafood!

Tiny little whole in the wall. Formerly kettle bagel building. Fresh mostly fried seafood. They do have a boiled 2lb. Lobster dinnner with fries and coleslaw for $49.00. Also, the owner reported to have specials of soft shell crab. I had the whole bellies. The batter was light and very tasty. We also ordered the fish tacos. The order came with 3 good size tacos, fries, and small coleslaw. Everything was good. The coleslaw was a bit watery but tasted ok. They do have outdoor seating available. The portions are large.

My wife and I went here after reading so much good written about it. We both ordered the daily special which was fried scallops, fries, Cole slaw, chowder and a soft drink. I think it was a good price for we received. The staff was friendly at the counter where we ordered. Our food was delivered promptly with the chowder coming out first. It wasn't really clear what drinks were included but our waitress pointed out the cooler and we picked out our drinks. Our meals were brought over to us along with our plastic ware. When they say nothing fancy, they mean it. The scallops were cut in half, I guess to make it seem like we were getting more. They were lightly fried and tasty. The fries were very thin and crispy. No flavor and reminded us of potato sticks. The Cole slaw was good, served in its little plastic to-go container. The store was clean, inviting and well laid out for the type of "Nothing Fancy" atmosphere it's going for. I'd like to go back and try a non daily special. Maybe my food won't be cut in half in an attempt to make the portion appear larger.

New seafood restaurant in the old kettle bagels location. Its okay. I wish it was great.

14.99 fish and chips / clam strip platter ..

So disappointed, $32. 00 for dinner meal ( look like kiddy's meals) fish, and french fries not cooked. So sad a couple of months after they opened. 2 people could split clam platter. Not anymore they look like appetizers.

Great service and people but certainly lives up to the name. It's "Nothing Fancy". Well fried seafood but lacks flavor. Plenty of places around here that I would go to instead but I feel like they are some good seasonings away from a great place! Prices were fair, portions were good, get some flavor!

Captains platter with clams chowder and soda very good !

Ordered the captain platter to go was cooked good and it came with clam chowder and a soda . They only thing is the French fries were a bit thin . Others than that very pleasing to taste

    $34.95 Whole belly clam platter...

I ordered the whole belly clam platter for dinner to go on the phone. When I went inside to pick up, the restaurant was decorated really cute so I was very anxious to get home and see what was in my bag! It was absolutely disgusting. The clams were completely overcooked! They actually tasted on the verge of being burnt. The fries were undercooked and soggy. The portion was very small. I am so disappointed I gave them a 20% tip. I just threw away $42+. It was literally inedible. I am sad- I was so looking forward to it....

Clam strip platter with a couple pieces of fish.

The clam strips and fish were ultra fresh and perfectly cooked. Everyone was super nice. Will return every time I'm back in CT.

The small restaurant was like a deli with several tables inside and a lovely outdoor patio that really elevated its overall atmosphere. We placed our order at the inside counter and grabbed a table outside. Throughout our visit, we experienced extremely pleasant and gracious service from Fina and a young man, both of whom were cooking and delivering the food. Though this caused things to move on the slower side, they really had their system down to a science, managing our meals and the several takeout orders that I saw being collected. The lunch menu had various salads, sandwiches, and burgers on offer. I selected the Chicken Gyro, which used a real grilled chicken breast that had been sliced, rather than those pre-cut strips that always seem to contain fillers. The chicken was a tad dry, but the homemade tzatziki sauce, which was heavily infused with dill, helped to add moisture to the sandwich. I had opted for a whole wheat wrap, rather than a pita, and I loved that they had lightly toasted the completed dish, even with its inclusion of romaine lettuce and diced tomatoes. That method gave the wrap an improved texture and a slight crunch. I sampled a few of my companion's fries, which were thin, crispy, and had a real rustic flavor that resembled potato skins. They were great! Fina's Kitchen was a real gem, hidden among an industrial area and catering to the local businesses. It was a great find!

The two cheeses plus a fresh tomato and lime were all that this large lunchtime meal needed to satisfy me. He is the lone staff, so be prepared to wait while you sit outside the restaurant in the open space with tables provided. He serves the meal himself. The vibe is a bit noisy at times as people walk through the dining area on their way to other venues in this old converted factory space. I thought it was a great idea to recycle old factory buildings along the Rails to Trails walkway in Southington. If you want an unconventional meal and like wandering around, popping into stores like the chocolate store or brewery, try it out.

I walked into a space where the owners were warm and engaged in a way that came through consistently, and the restaurant had the feel of a place run with real investment in what comes out of the kitchen. The pho is the centerpiece and it earns that position. I tried the broth, which was light and clean, built with depth rather than heaviness, and the beef was tender throughout. The short rib and oxtail versions are the ones to order when available, and the brisket is the reliable fallback when they are not. The rare steak and tendon option is worth trying for anyone who wants to go further into the menu. I also ordered the pork vermicelli bowl, another strong choice, with well seasoned pork and fresh vegetables that held up against the noodle base. It came with a spring roll component that added to the overall value of the dish. The banh mi was flavorful and well assembled, and the fresh rolls were worth ordering alongside whatever else I got. Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai tea were both solid and complemented the food well. Service was friendly, and the owners were visibly present and genuinely hospitable. The restaurant accommodates families well, with the kitchen going out of its way on small details like kid friendly utensils and high chairs that make the experience easier for parents. When you enter, you walk through a boba tea and sweets area before turning the corner into the restaurant seating, which was a bit unexpected but interesting. When I arrived, I was asked to wait briefly for a group to leave before being seated since the space is very small and there wasn't enough room to pass. Once they moved, I was seated right away, which I appreciated. There were a few cleanliness and service issues that took away from the experience. The table hadn't been fully cleaned and still had spilled flower water on it, with napkins on the floor underneath. We also didn't have napkins or silverware at the table initially, so I grabbed napkins from the other side of the restaurant to wipe the table. I did mention this to the staff, but the table wasn't addressed afterward. The food was okay and had flavor, though it was fairly simple and became repetitive after a few bites. Service overall felt a bit slow, and we waited for a while before someone helped us check out. Overall, the experience was just okay.
