a restaurant counter with a sign that says crazy greek
Rachel S.

Pricing has definitely gotten a little bit high $17-$18 for a salad that doesn't have many ingredients. I don't go nearly as often as I used to because of that. Not trying to spend dinner prices on lunch. Also last time I tried the falafel platter that had tahini sauce on it. The sauce got all over everything and it was bad I tried to wipe it off but it ruined the meal. It tasted like spoiled clay weird texture and crackly maybe went bad (if you can imaging whatever that would taste like). Don't get the tahini sauce. I would prefer the Tzatziki. Other than that should be good.

the BEST gyros we have ever had! Great service, fresh ingredients, and amazing staff. The restaurant is always very clean! We love crazy greek!!

If you or somebody you know dislikes sushi rolls because they're hard to fit in your mouth, you may want to avoid the Crazy Gyro at Crazy Greek. It's HUGE! It's the Primanti Brothers of Gyros. The San Diego Style Burrito of Gyros. If you don't know what that means, in addition to the normal filling like gyro meat, tomatoes, red onion, peppers and tsastziki, it's topped with French Fries. A lot of fries. It was delicious. Not to bury the lead, the reason I visited Crazy Greek for the second time (and first in years) is that Crazy Greek made the 2022 CT Yelp Top 25 Places to Eat List, and I've been trying to hit as many of those places as possible. It's in a small building with an open grill and kitchen. There are a few tables inside and a few tables outside, but they have a busy takeout business as well. I ordered ahead. My food was ready as I arrived. I ate outside while taking pics. In addition to the gyro, I ordered a falafel platter for my wife and baklava. I sampled the falafel and salad and both were good. The baklava was dense and delicious. I get why Crazy Greek is so popular. Five Stars

Good food, quick service, and we liked it. We came by for a pickup dinner -- they have a few inside tables and a small outside seating area -- and came away very happy with the experience. The chicken souvlaki platter ($16.25) was a lot of tasty food including the tender chicken, fries, and a Greek salad filled with yummy feta cubes. First class! Our other take-home dish, the combo platter, included pork gyro and falafel ($17.25) and was mouth-wateringly good. The dips for the warm pitas were nicely seasoned but not overdone. They also have an appealing catering menu that offers their main dishes in half or full tray.

In the area yesterday after a great hike and very hungry. Stopped in to the Crazy Greek for a quick bite. Small, authentic place. A couple tables inside and a seating area outside. Prices are reasonable able staff was attentive and pleasant. My gyro was fantastic, the meat was juicy and flavorful, best tzatziki sauce I've ever had! The pita was soft and warm. Great quick bite after a long hike! Highly recommend and I will be back!

Mediterranean food is one of my favorite cuisines out there and Crazy Greek is a hidden gem that you should absolutely try out. When I came back from a trip to Greece in 2016, I was craving authentic gyros and these are hands down the best ones around. I get the lamb gyro with Greek fries on the side which are a huge staple! It's small inside but cozy and clean, the staff is friendly too. #supportlocal #eatlocal

Have gotten take out a few times and it's been really delicious! All of the ingredients are very fresh and their Greek dressing is clearly homemade and absolutely delicious! It's very easy to order online and the food is ready and waiting when I arrive. Staff is very nice. There is really no where to sit inside- definitely a take out place. There are a couple tables outside if you're looking to stay there and eat when the weather is nice. I didn't love the falafel as much but the tahini made it much better and I really enjoyed that sauce.

A quality Greek restaurant in the area, good for lunch but not for a large group. I ordered the falafel pita, which was a good amount of food, especially for the price. The falafel was *decent*, nothing too memorable but I thought all of the flavors came together nicely. Ingredients were fresh. Interior of the place is very small, on a Thursday lunch hour the place was packed and we had to wait a bit to grab a table for 2 and had to borrow a chair from another table. We also ordered some baklava to go, which was SUPER syrup-y. They are large blocks and big enough to share (although might be a messy process to share!)

Just stopped here while in the area and am finishing up lunch now! Holy crap so fresh and tasty. Food is made fresh and to order. Counter service is friendly. They have all the usual Greek choices. I got the chicken souvlaki sandwich and my bf got the crazy gyro which is basically regular beef/lamb gyro but with fries stuffed in it. All of our food was made fresh to order which I love. There's 1 or 2 tables inside and at least 6 picnic tables outside. If you want a quick insanely tasty lunch this is the perfect option. They have baklava too which looked great. And they also serve Greek beer if that suits your fancy. Seriously go here!

Food is fine. Prices are far far too high for what you get. Way off. Oh well, it's a miss for me.

Long-time fan, but disappointed with the new Italian combo portions…read more I've been coming here for years and have always loved the Italian combo grinder -- the bread is still fantastic (crusty outside, soft inside, just right), the long hot peppers pack that perfect kick, and the overall flavor profile is still spot-on. The shop looks great after the recent updates under new ownership -- cleaner, brighter, more inviting space. That said, I was really let down on my first visit since the change. The grinder I got for lunch had noticeably less meat than before. What used to be a hearty, well-stacked sandwich with generous layers of cold cuts now felt skimpy on the protein -- probably about half (or less) the amount I was used to. The other components (cheese, veggies, hot sauce) were fine, but the lack of meat made it feel more like a veggie-heavy sub than the satisfying Italian combo I always counted on. Everything else was good -- friendly service, quick prep, fresh ingredients -- so I'm hoping this was just an off day or an adjustment period with the new team. I'd love to see the portions return to their old generous standard, because the foundation here is still strong. 2.5/5 stars from me right now. Still my go-to deli in the area, but I'll be watching to see if the meat comes back in full force. Keep up the great bread and peppers!

Everything was absolutely delicious! All the attendees were raving about how great it all was and how impressed they were at how huge the portion sizes were! Our head server was extremely tentative to all our needs and even lit every candle himself on my daughters cake. He would ask me things prior to delegating or delivering the next thing. All the service members were great, but he was phenomenal. We had plenty of space as the table was large enough to fit all of us comfortably. We didn't feel like we were on top of any other people close by, nor each other. We will definitely be back again without any doubt!! Most establishments today don't let you take your leftovers home either, but Viron's did!! They packaged up everything!! TEN OUT OF TEN!! The owner knows what he's doing!!

We stopped here on the way to the airport and were immediately amazed with the customer service. John and Brady were phenomenal. We ordered the small Italian club with Chicken cutlet and the Vittorio. We also got a large Muffaletta with the olive salad on the side, pesto chips, mixed pickled veggies salad and a cannoli. We wanted to change since we were going to the airport so we had to use the restroom. That's where we encountered John. He is such a lovely man. He was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. My sister was throughly impressed with Brady's customer service. He made her feel at home and was very friendly. All of our food was good. They devoured the veggie salad on the car ride to the airport and we ate some of the sandwiches too. The portions are big and you can share. The 3 sandwiches we got were plenty for our family of 6 plus leftovers. Rossi Rosticceria Deli 45 S Clover St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Review 50 in 2025 and 893 overall)

It is located on a back street with not much activity, and I was able to find parking quickly, which is key when you are on a work break. As soon as I walked in, the smells and sights of an authentic Italian deli were exactly what you hope for. There is a menu with plenty to choose from and a pastry case that I already know I will be coming back to try next time. I went with the Blue Ribbon panini, and in about ten minutes I had a hefty sandwich wrapped and ready to go. When I sat down to eat and picked it up, it did not disappoint. Chicken cutlet, ham, honey mustard, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and great bread. Everything blended together perfectly. On the first bite, the chicken cutlet burned my mouth in the best way possible. The tomatoes and honey mustard tied it all together and made it incredibly satisfying. I could only eat half because it was such a heavy sandwich. My dad finished the other half and shared the same appreciation for a really good panini. The next time I am working nearby, I know exactly where I am going, and I will definitely be trying the cannoli and the black and white cookies. 5 out of 5 stars.
