One of the best meals I've had in my 48 years! Was looking for a quick lunch while my daughter was at a competition at the high school. Saw Shawarma Bay on Yelp. It was within walking distance of the school so I decided to give it a try. Ample parking and it's an easy spot to get and out of. The interior was clean and neat as a pin. I ordered the Falafel Platter and Baklava to go, But there was ample and pleasant seating inside as well. The gentleman at the counter was very kind and my food was ready quickly. Delicious food - this was our first visit but definitely not our last! The wrap was huge! Probably a foot long and very reasonable at $11. Filled with seasoned chicken and fresh vegetables. The Shawarma over fries was simple but delicious - great shoestring type fries! Brought leftovers of everything home and haven't tried the baklava yet but it looks amazing! The owners were friendly and helpful and eager for us to enjoy their food! The place is low key and clean. Don't pass on the sauces ... they're great, expected tzatziki sauce but my favorite was the red, hot sauce which was a perfect compliment to the wrap! I can't believe we live in town and hadn't visited Shawarma Bay sooner! No frills spot with kind staff and delicious food! My husband and I both ordered a shawarma and beef doner mixed platter, and we were really impressed with how flavorful it was. They put one of each sauce on top, so every bite had a garlicky tanginess with a light kick that we really enjoyed. The fries were seasoned nicely too! The hummus and warm pita were a great side. Everything was reasonably priced at great portions. Since it's Ramadan, it was probably a bit busier than normal, and the staff made sure to make us aware of a 10-15 minute wait for the food. We didn't mind waiting, and he apologized and thanked us for our patience again when he brought it over. We will absolutely be back! read more

This just opened 4 weeks ago and I finally got a chance to check it out. The food is flavorful and the platters are a good portion! I hate to say this, but Shawarma Bay isn't going to last for very long. The gyro I had was unimpressive. First the positives: The flat bread was nice, the pickled vegetables were great, and the tzatziki sauce was pretty standard. The negatives: The meat was a lamb beef mixture and it was dry, salty and it was served cold. This combination of faults doesn't make for a good gyro. I had high hopes for this place. We ordered chicken kebab and mixed meat platters for lunch on our way to a college visit for our daughter. The restaurant itself was quiet and unassuming, but conveniently located only minutes from the highway. The two gentlemen helping us were very solicitous and respectful. You could tell that they are very proud of the food that they serve, and with good reason. Everything was so fresh and simply delicious! 1st order OK. 2nd order was not OK. I thought the falafel was to flakey and fell apart and had no flavor. I do not understand how you can sell falafel without Tahini Sauce. These people do not offer tahini sauce. A simple change like this would bring me back if the falafel was actually good. Have not tried other items yet. The white sauce they offer, I'm sure people like it, but for me it does not work with falafel at all. If they make changes, then I think they survive. If they don't have tahini sauce, they I don't see them making it. read more
