Was more than pleasantly surprised!! I expected some average food given the prices. I was admittedly spoiled where I am from in WA state...had an amazing Greek restaurant we visited a few times a month. Since moving to CT we have hit up some others. While none were bad, nothing left us feeling excited to go back. Until Gyro Love. The food looked, smelled, and tasted very fresh, not "mass produced". Granted it was slow while we were there (they seems to do a great takeout business) bit the service was stellar. They were all genuine, no robots going through the motion. Seemed like it may be family owned/staffed but not certain. I am guessing so because of the way we were treated....the little things mattered to them. Even without the food and the amazing smells you can tell the level of pride they take in there. The atmosphere is anything but cookie cutter restaurant. It was a relaxing feel of a Greek hangout. Since we were there and the menu doubled up with the other side of the business, PizzaPie wood fired pizza, I went for a small calzone as well. Let me just say 37 years in the Army taught me to eat. I was vert shocked when the "small" calzone cameout especially given it's price (14.50). You can't go a block.in CT without finding a pizza joint but this one stood out. The crust qas light and flaky, not heavy and doughy like many calzones. Flavor was on point as well. If.you are thinking... Not a fan of Greek food. Don't miss out.on this place. With the variety of food I guarantee you'll find more than a few things that will wet your appetite. I already know what I'm having when I go back my 2nd and 3rd time!

Great food, great service, the place looks amazing. Very cool decorations inside. Lots of different choices for food. Between the Greek style food and pizza you can order from both and enjoy some great food. The gyro I had was great! Very large lots of meat and tasted great!

I've been coming to Gyro Love for a while now. Lately I haven't had too much time to write reviews, but after my visit here today, I had to use a few minutes to jot down some thoughts! I've never been disappointed coming to this place. I always get the falafel, and it never disappoints. Fresh, hot, crisp on the outside, very flavorful...great stuff! They pile on the cool toppings of fresh tomatoes and cucumber, which adds the perfect balance to the hot falafel. The pita bread and fries seem like they are always hot and fresh as well. I normally use hot sauce or some hummus in the place of the tzatziki sauce. The perfect all around meal for me. When I go with my wife, another thing we get is the sample platter, which has pita bread, hummus, baba ghanoush, dolmas, etc....awesome stuff! And please put the pickled onions on your food! They are the perfect condiment! In addition to the food, the service is what matters to me the most. Everyone is pleasant and helpful. This is more important to me than anything else sometimes! Stop by and grab a bite, you won't regret it!

Definitely would sit outside and enjoy the patio next time, because it looks gorgeous out there.

So I had negative feelings walking into this location in Southington on West Street Walking in, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately, at a table in front of the kitchen, where we could watch the action going on At the check-in station, the hostess immediately asked us if we had any allergies to foods, which kind of was weird. It's almost like the place was woke. So cruising the menu, I ordered the 110 Cuban sandwich$16.00. My friend ordered the cheeseburger, 17. +. Each of the sandwiches came with an order of french fries, or a choice of any other sides. I think there was maybe three or four other ones. Quickly the the lunch has arrived. I noticed that my friend's cheeseburger was well done and on the small side, just a little bit bigger than a slider. My 110 Cuban sandwich consisted of pulled pork, which was more barbecued and smoky than Cuban, and ham, which I couldn't taste, and a very overpowering cheese. I couldn't taste the pickle either. This was all served on a smaller sized what looked like Texas toast. The french fries were a very small order, and for a side it was disappointing. For the money paid for the sandwich and a side they could've upped the quantity of the french fries Both lunches were disappointing I'm gonna give this place three stars because the service was really nice. Our server was so attentive, especially with filling the water glasses, and asking if we needed anything else. So, with all this said, this place, reminds me of a cross between a Friendly's where you can view the open kitchen, and a sports bar. I'm not feeling this place to frequent after work for cocktails. There aren't enough televisions. I only saw one. The bar did look interesting though. The restaurant itself was comfortable, I liked the high tables and seating. The food is chain style and it just doesn't taste fresh. I was completely turned off with the way. My friends cheeseburger looked, all overcooked and stuff when she asked for medium rare, I don't think that was an option. I think they just cooked it full-blown well done I saw that there were some other dinner menu items priced from $25 to a little bit over $40. I would pass on these as this wouldn't be the place I would drop $100 for dinner on with a date or otherwise. I don't think I would even want this to be a business men's lunch. With so many other choices for local restaurants, I can see why a lot of these franchises are closing. This place is also on the pricy side.

As the meal went on, the pasta started to feel dry and a little lackluster. Chicken was cooked perfectly across the board, though the chicken breasts were very thick. And that's no surprise because the Noto Americano Market is a spinoff of a restaurant, namely Plantsville's Noto Americano Sicilian Kitchen. The Market has pretty much everything you need for a great meal -a big imported grocery section, prepared salads and entrees, packaged deli, a salad bar, frozen food (including big chunks of octopus), frozen sauces and soups, deli and sandwich service, cookies, pastries, and cakes, pizza, fresh eggplant and chicken cutlets, and a nice dining section to sit and mangia. We found the customer service to be excellent, and the young gent that took our order was super friendly. We went home with a Gargantuan slice of cheese pizza as big as two normal slices for $5, a big chocolate cookie ($1.50), and a frozen package of cheese ravioli ($5.99 for 12 pieces). I thought the pricing was very reasonable. We just split that big slice of pizza for dinner and enjoyed it -thin crust, plenty of cheese, plenty of sauce and overall excellence across the board. No doubt we'll sample one of their grinders next time, and you can rest assure there will be a next time. I've already got my mind set on a Pisano, with Spicy Soppressata, Mortadella, Stracciatella cheese, arugula, Tomato, and a Pistachio Pesto Sauce. Doesn't that sound amazing?

She is very passionate about the menu and is very attentive to everyone. She went on to explain that each dish is created with specific textures and flavors in mind to create an intentional balanced bite. She is absolutely correct and I am so glad we listened. In fact, after trying the "second" bite with soy sauce, we recognized that it was much better without it. The soy sauce is homemade and delicious but the sushi is so perfectly executed, it really does not need anything at all to shine. This is not your average sushi joint. It's very rare to find a place that does this. I was excitedand ordered two grinders. One was the Lucky Luciano and the other was the Sicilian. The. Lucky Luciano is a vegetable base with provolone cheese. It was thinly sliced provolone cheese, two slices on the entire grinder. Unfortunately, due to the marinated mushrooms and marinated eggplant. The bread was pretty soaked. I think if they used more cheese as a barrier, this sandwich could've been better. The Sicilian is basically an eggplant Parmesan. I did not care for this in Parmesan however it is edible. The eggplant was sliced, extremely thin that you could barely taste it. Instead of using melted mozzarella, there was one hunk of fresh mozzarella on the sandwich. I did feel that the prices were pretty expensive however, I probably would try the vegetable sandwich again if I eat it in person and ask them to put extra provolone around the bread . A lot of the reviews people love it here so I might try some other sandwiches however I don't eat meat so these were the two sandwiches I was interested in.
